Project Overview

CASTING DECISIONS FOR THIS GROUP OF CHARACTERS WILL BE MADE BY SEPTEMBER 1ST

Pokemon Battle Club is a Pokemon animation light novel series based in a fan-made region called the Kithus Region. It follows a group of students at Terminus High School create a Pokémon Battle Club to compete in the Kithus High School Regional Tournament. This series is a slice of life show featuring rotating storylines each episode. It will feature a mixture of in-game and animated battles and will be fully voice acted.

  • Casting Has Begun

    Hey everyone! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has auditioned! We are beginning to cast different people for different roles. Please go and congratulate the peeps who have gotten roles! For those who did not get parts they auditioned for, please audition for other characters or stay tuned for when each individual episode audition occurs! I am going to try and work on tips and other things that may helpful for some of you in the future. I am no expert in voice acting, but, I know from a producer aspect what we looked for and see if that can help! If you wish to know, send me a message!   • New Roles!

    Hey everyone! First off, thank you to everyone who has auditioned so far! I can't wait to go and listen to all of them with my co-writer! I've heard a few, and you guys are amazing! Just wanted to let you know that I've expanded the cast list. This should be every character that has some significance in season 1. There will be extras and other things like it, but as far as "lead, supporting, and minor" characters go, this should be it! Desperate need for more people to audition for the female characters. If you know someone who'd be interested, send them this page! Would love to connect them to this amazing world we're going to create! The month of August should be when I make some decisions on some characters. September will be the closing deadline and then casting call pages will be made for each episode!     Hey guys! First off, I want to say thank you for your interest in this project! I am so excited to go through the auditions and listen to you all bring life to these characters! When I first made the page, I put a 2023 deadline because I wanted to keep updating the page as more characters came into view for the series, but someone has brought up that it may look like I am not actively working on the project or that the work for the project won't start up UNTIL 2023. That is not the case! I am actively working through the project, just wanted to put the weird deadline for the sake of keeping the page but I think it would be better to have "waves" of new casting call pages with shorter deadlines. LIFE

Brooke moved from Azmarin Town last year so that her father could pursue more opportunities for work. He is studying how Pokémon evolve over time - from an ancestral species to what they are today. She kind of resents the move, but her mother is strict on making sure that she shows love and appreciation for her dad.

She was a fan of The Triple Battle Club at Tempus High School. She knew of the girls by watching their games with her school: The Azmarin Azumarills. Brooke had hopes of joining the club but learned it disbanded after a devastating loss at the Kithus Regional Tournament.

Tara was born in the Hoenn region to her mom (Jen) and dad (Lewis). She is the oldest of three siblings, twins (Max and Macy) and then baby brother (Jack). Lewis left their family when Tara’s baby brother was born. The stress of having a family was apparently too much for him. Jen decided to move the family to a more affordable region because Hoenn was beginning to gain popularity.


Her mom works a lot and Tara is forced to take care of her family. She acts as a second mom to her younger siblings. She doesn’t do all too well in school and lashes out because of it. However, she will deny her feeling burnt out and say that it’s a cliché to be burnt out from taking care of her younger siblings while her mom works.

Alvin is studying the evolution of Pokémon over time. Not just Pokémon evolution through means of gaining experience, by how different species are connected to each other and separated to different Pokémon throughout history. He is trying to get a loan by the region to create a lab and jumpstart his career as a professor, but he is having trouble securing the loan. He spends more time with his research than he does with his family and it has put a strain on his relationship with Brooke.

Alvin is a hard worker. He is passionate about his project and his family. However, he is also short-sighted.

  • [Alvin had a hard day where his research was denied because of inconsistencies. He has been trying to get funding to build a lab but no one is trusting him and his studies. Brooke comes down to check on him but he is occupied with trying to figure out where he went wrong] (distant, focused)

    Alvin: I'm going over some data. I- (Alvin stammers a bit and when he speaks again his voice is downcast) My data was off today. I need to be airtight for my next presentation.

    Alvin: I don't want to, Lisa. If I don't get the funding soon, we're screwed.

Lisa is a strong character. She works hard to support her family and support her husband in her dreams. Even when she is tired, she still shows a sort of uprightness when around Brooke and Alvin. However, she is getting fatigued by working. As the series progress, we will see how that impacts her.

Suzaku is a third year at Tempus High School. He was part of the previous club last year with his ex-girlfriend. When she graduated, they broke up because she went to another region to go to University. He is pretty popular and a lot of students thinks he's attractive. He is a pretty average student, however, and he just wants to make fun memories.

  • [Suzaku hears about Tara challenging Brooke to a battle. He knows Tara is horrible and wants to check in with Brooke] (confident, cool)

    Suzaku: Hey, Brooke. I'm Suzaku. Heard about your little run-in with Tara. She's been a menace since we got here. Hope she hasn't gotten to you too bad.

  • [Suzaku is explaining to Brooke why the previous club disbanded. He is getting lost in his words and also finds it easy to talk to Brooke]

    Suzaku: Yeah, we were pretty bad (chuckles). None of us placed well in the finals. Dr. Tornen left and some of the others graduated or transferred out. One girl, Audrey, she was this first year. Man, she was really good! She got recruited! It was crazy!

    (Realizing he's talking a lot and gets a little embarrassed) Sorry, I don't know why I'm spilling all that out to you.

Bonnie is a rich kid. Not incredibly rich, but enough for her to not realize how much privilege she has. In the beginning of the series, we won't see much of her other than her battling but she has a story arc with the character, Taylor, who she gets mistaken for. We later find out that they are actually related and that Bonnie's father had an secret love child with Taylor's mom. Bonnie tries to save their friendship, desperately.

Taylor's mom had a secret affair once with Bonnie's mom and Taylor was conceived from it. She and Bonnie have a clear disconnect. Taylor had to struggle in life while Bonnie got things easier because she was rich. Taylor is more rugged than Bonnie. Definitely tom boy.

Colton is the son of Hammerlocke University’s president, Dr. Carter (father) and Percy Carter (mother). Things were incredibly easy for Colton growing up. He was surrounded by nannies and butlers. Colton went to a private school in the Galar region and was used to traveling the world and vacationing. However, this sort of freedom led him to feel like he could do whatever he wanted. After one rebellious act where he threw a party while his parents were away, Colton’s father sent him to live in the Kithus region by himself.


He is resentful of his father for the decision. He keeps a low profile at the school. However, he is still getting up into mischief. Developing drinking habits that will become a plot point. He lives with his Nanny, Jane.

Morgan is non-binary. However, at the beginning of the series, we don't see them claiming they are non-binary, but just that they have a distaste for falling into one side of the binary. Later on, they will take that journey of discovering their identity.

Morgan is really likeable. They are respectful to their teachers and get pretty above average grades. Because of their politeness, no one really has a problem with them and they don't really have a problem with anybody else. Potential plot points can come out of this character if show progresses.

Nancy Ryder is the coach of the Azmarin City Azumarills, a rival school to Tempus High School where our main cast goes. She offers advice to Mr. Winters and they later become friends. She's pretty outgoing, a little tomboyish, and has a go-getter attitude. I think she's very emotionally mature and wants to support her girls to be the best.

She has the potential to be a recurring character if show continues into season 2.

Kim was a previous member of Tempus High School, the school the main cast goes. However, she had to transfer schools because her dad got relocated. She is now in the Battle Club of one of the rivaling schools.

She is very motivated to getting better, never satisfied with being second best. She's a natural leader, upbeat, and likes to keep people motivated. She's very genuine and fun-loving but can get a little bit aggressive when things aren't going her way or how she planned for it. Character starts out as supporting but ends up being a minor character towards the end of the first season.

  • [In a flashback to a year before: Kim, Naomi, and Mia just lost their battle in the tournament. Everyone is discouraged but Kim tries to hold everyone together] (reassuring)

    Kim: I guess we're out of the tournament... You girls did awesome, though.
