Shipwise Audio Drama: Game of Thrones - The Final Season
Project Overview
Game of Thrones Season 8: the long awaited finale that ended up disappointing many. But some users in r/Freefolk decided to take it upon themselves to fix it as best as they knew how. Through doing it ourselves.
Enter Alice Shipwise, scribe and playwright, with a fantastic 10+ Episode Season 8 of Game of Thrones, written and released almost a full year prior to the show's debut. Done as a writing exercise that she enjoyed, the FreeFolk chose that as our framework with which to remake the final GoT season, as it is far better quality than anything that David Benioff and DB Weiss phoned in.
So in these preliminary stages, we are in need of the People of Westeros and their leaders in vocal form to help us tell this story. Join the Freefolk for the Shipwise Audio Drama, and help us show D&D how to do it right!
Here's the logistics: This is a volunteer opportunity, no pay will be given for your participation. Please view the roles and submit for as many as you feel suited for. We are currently casting for major roles from the first episode only, and other roles will be auditioned for as the episodes progress. If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to possibly participate in a technical capacity and lend your services to the production, please join our slack (http://shipwiseaudioplay.slack.com) or contact the production at [redacted]

Jon Snow, born Aegon Targaryen, is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, the late Prince of Dragonstone. He is named King of the North by the Northern Alliance of houses. After successfully capturing a wight and presenting it to the Lannisters as proof that the Army of the Dead are real, Jon pledges himself and his army to Daenerys Targaryen.
Looking for an actor who can do a Northern English accent, and sounds 25-30 years old. Character is mournful, doesn't want to be the king, and always tells the truth even at the expense of strategy. Though dour and brooding, he is still an inspiring commander and his speeches rouse the people to fight.
We’re here to say goodbye to our brothers and sisters,to our fathers and mothers, to our friends, our fellow men and women who set aside their differences to fight together and die together so that others might live. Everyone in this world owes them a debt that can never be repaid. It is our duty and our honor to keep them alive in memory for those who come after us, and those who come after them for as long as men draw breath. They were the shields that guarded the realms of men, and we shall never see their like again.
My name’s Jon Snow. I’m Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. We’re not friends. We’ve never been friends. We won’t become friends today. This isn’t about friendship. This is about survival. This is about putting a 700 foot wall between you and what’s out there. The White Walkers don’t care if a man’s free folk or crow, we’re all the same to them, meat for their army. But together, we can beat them. There are good lands south of the wall, the night’s watch will let you through the tunnel, and allow your people to settle those lands. I knew Mance Rayder. He never wanted a war with the Night’s Watch, he wanted a new life for his people, for you. We’re prepared to give you that new life, if you swear to join us when the real war begins.
Lord Tyrion Lannister is the youngest child of Lord Tywin Lannister and younger brother of Cersei and Jaime Lannister. A dwarf, he uses his wit and intellect to overcome the prejudice he faces.
Looking for an actor who can do a Received Pronunciation accent, and sounds 35-40 years old. Tyrion is quick witted, catty, and knows copious amounts of sayings and jokes.
They say I’m half a man. But what does that make the lot of you? There’s another way out; I’m going to show you. Come out behind them and fuck them in their asses. Don’t fight for your king, and don’t fight for his kingdoms. Don’t fight for honor, don’t fight for glory. Don’t fight for riches, because you won’t get any. This is your city Stannis means to sack. That’s your gate he’s ramming, and if he gets in, it will be your houses he burns, your gold he steals, your women he will rape. Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let’s go kill them!
Father, I wish to confess. I wish to confess. I saved you. I saved this city, and all your worthless lives. I should have let Stannis kill you all. Father, I’m guilty, is that what you want to hear. Of poisoning the King, I’m innocent, I’m guilty of a far more monstrous crime. I’m guilty of being a dwarf. I’ve been on trial for that my entire life. I did not kill Joffrey but I wish that I had. Watching your vicious bastard die gave me more relief than a thousand lying whores. I wish I was the monster you think I am. I wish I had enough poison for the whole pack of you. I would gladly give my life to watch you all swallow it. I will not give my life for Joffrey's murder. And I know I'll get no justice here, so I will let the gods decide my fate. I demand a trial by combat!
Queen Daenerys I Targaryen, also known as Dany and Daenerys Stormborn, was the younger sister of Rhaegar Targaryen and Viserys Targaryen and only daughter of King Aerys II Targaryen and Queen Rhaella Targaryen, who were both ousted from the Iron Throne during Robert Baratheon's rebellion.
Actor must be able to do a Southern London accent as well as give speeches in the conlang "High Valyrian" when speaking to her soldiers. She is logical and deadpan, while also having a streak of fury within her when cornered.
Every Khal that ever lived chose three blood riders to fight beside him and guard his way. But I am not a Khal. I will not choose three blood riders. I choose you all. I will ask more of you than any Khal has ever asked of his Khalassar! Will you ride the wooden horses across the black salt sea? Will you kill my enemies in their iron suits and tear down their stone houses? Will you give me the Seven Kingdoms, the gift Khal Drogo promised me before the Mother of Mountains? Are you with me? Now and always?

When I was a girl, my brother told me it was made with a thousand swords from Aegon’s fallen enemies. What do a thousand swords look like in the mind of a little girl who can’t count to twenty? I imagined a mountain of swords too high to climb. So many fallen enemies you could only see the soles of Aegon’s feet. It’s not easy to see something that’s never been before. A good world. But I know it will be, because I know what is good, and so do you. You’ve always known. Be with me. Build the new world with me. This is our reason, it has been from the beginning, since you were a little boy with a bastard’s name, and I was a little girl who couldn’t count to twenty. We do it together. We break the wheel together.
Sansa Stark is the eldest daughter of Lord Eddard Stark and his wife, Lady Catelyn, sister of Robb, Arya, Bran, and Rickon Stark, and "half-sister" of Jon Snow. Sansa becomes well versed in politics and court intrigue under the tutelage of Cersei Lannister, Margaery Tyrell and Petyr Baelish, suffering but learning from her traumatic experiences as a hostage of House Lannister in King's Landing and House Bolton at Winterfell. Alongside Jon, Sansa takes back Winterfell from House Bolton at the Battle of the Bastards, becoming the new Lady of Winterfell.
Actor must be able to do a Northern English accent. She is very officious and logical, as well as suspicious and occasionally dismissive. She is fiercely protective of her family and home and does not trust non-Northerners.
You stand accused of murder, you stand accused of treason. How do you answer these charges, Lord Baelish? Let’s start with the simplest, you murdered our aunt, Lysa Arryn, you pushed her through the Moondoor and watched her fall, do you deny it? You did it to take power in the Vale. Earlier you conspired to murder Jon Arryn, you gave Lysa tears of Leese to poison him, do you deny it? You had Aunt Lysa send a letter to our parents telling them it was the Lannisters who murdered Jon Arryn when really it was you. The conflict between the Starks and the Lannisters, it was you who started it, do you deny it? You conspired with Cersei Lannister and Joffery Baratheon to betray our father, Ned Stark. Thanks to your treachery he was imprisoned and later executed on false charges of treason, do you deny it?
Arya Stark is the third child and second daughter of Lord Eddard Stark and his wife, Lady Catelyn Stark. She is the heir of House Stark. After narrowly escaping the persecution of House Stark by House Lannister, Arya is trained as a Faceless Man at the House of Black and White in Braavos, and uses her new skills to avenge her family. Upon her return to Westeros, she exacts retribution for the Red Wedding by exterminating the Frey male line. Returning to Winterfell, Arya initially finds herself at odds with her elder sister, Sansa. However, their tumultuous relationship is discovered to be the result of Petyr Baelish's manipulation, and the two mend their sisterhood following his execution for his crimes against House Stark.
Actor must be able to do a Northern English accent. Arya is quiet, reserved and chooses her words carefully. At this point in her character development she is very serious and almost speaks in riddles. Very singleminded, she is a master assassin with the attitude to match.
Father used to watch us from up here. He wouldn’t say much. You probably don’t remember, you were inside knitting all the time. One time the boys were shooting arrows with Ser Rodrick. I came out here after, and Bran had left his bow behind just lying on the ground. Ser Rodrick would have cuffed him if he saw. There was one arrow in the target, and there was no one around, just like now, no one to stop me. So I started shooting, and every shot I had to go up there, get my one arrow, and walk back and shoot it again. I wasn’t very good. Finally I hit the bullseye. Could have been the 20th or the 50th, I don’t remember, but I hit the bullseye, and I hear this *clap clap clap* I looked up, and he’s standing right here, smiling down at me. I knew what I was doing was against the rules, but he was smiling so I knew it wasn’t wrong. The rules were wrong.
Queen Cersei I Lannister was the twentieth ruler of the Seven Kingdoms and the widow of King Robert Baratheon, with whom she had her sole trueborn child, and the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. She was the daughter of Lord Tywin Lannister, twin sister of Jaime Lannister and elder sister of Tyrion Lannister. She was involved in an incestuous relationship with Jaime, who was secretly the father of her three deceased bastard children, Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen, as well as an unborn child.
After the poisoning of her elder children in the later stages of the War of the Five Kings and Tommen's suicide in the wake of the destruction of the Great Sept of Baelor, Cersei assumed the throne under the name of Cersei of the House Lannister, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, making her the twentieth ruler of the Seven Kingdoms (as well as the first officially recognized Queen Regnant in the history of Westeros).
Actor must be able to do a London-based English accent. Cersei is cold, calculating, and extremely selfish. She does not suffer fools and enjoys turning the tables on her enemies. She has a long memory for people that wronged her, and holds grudges until they are dead.
Confess. Confess. Confess. Confess, it felt good, beating me, starving me, frightening me, humiliating me. You didn’t do it because you cared about my atonement. You did it because it felt good. I understand. I do things because they feel good. I drink because it feels good. I killed my husband because it felt good to be rid of him. I fuck my brother because it feels good to feel him inside me. I lie about fucking my brother because it feels good to keep our son safe from hateful hypocrites. I killed your high sparrow and all his little sparrows, all his septons and septas, all his filthy soldiers, because it felt good to watch them burn. It felt good to imagine the shock and the pain. No thought has ever given me greater joy. Even confessing feels good under the right circumstances. You’ve always been quiet. I said my face would be the last thing you saw before you die, do you remember? You’re not going to die today. You’re not going to die for quite a while. Ser Gregor. This is Ser Gregor Clegane, he’s quiet too. Your gods have forsaken you. This is your god now. Shame. Shame. Shame.
Ser Jorah Mormont was a formerly exiled Northern lord from Westeros previously living in Essos. He had sworn fealty to his fellow exile Daenerys Targaryen and was the first to help her adapt to life as a khaleesi of the Dothraki.
Actor must be able to do a Southern English accent, preferably with a Scottish lilt. Jorah is an honorable, yet thoughtful, man. He is extremely loyal and lives his life only for his Queen, whom he loves. He has a conciliatory personality and comes across very wise.
Khaleesi. Without you there to rule in Yunkai, I fear the masters will simply bide their time, wait for the invaders to leave, and reassert control. But herding the masters into pens and slaughtering them by the thousands is also treating men like beasts. The slaves you’ve freed, brutality is all they’ve ever known, if you want them to know something else, you’ll have to show it to them. It’s tempting to see your enemies as evil, all of them, but there’s good and evil on both sides in every war ever fought. I sold men into slavery. I wouldn’t be here to help you if Ned Stark had done to me what you want to do to the Grand Masters of Yunkai.
Actor must be able to do an English accent, preferably with a Dutch lilt. Euron is a wide-eyed, jester-esque maniac who's bombastic attitude is supremely off-putting and creepy. Character Direction may change to bring him more in line with the Book version rather than the Mick Jagger Fratboy that was depicted on screen.
Niece, nephew, little Theon. I heard you managed to fuck things right into the ground. Captured a castle you couldn’t keep, got yourself taken prisoner. Even heard you have no cock. Explains why you think a woman can be King. I’m the one who’s going to build the Iron Fleet, because I’m the one who knows how to use it. I’ve been all over the world. I’ve seen more of it than all of you combined. And across the sea, there is a person who hates the Great Lords of Westeros just as much as we do. Someone with a large army, three large dragons, and no husband. I’m going to build that fleet, and I’m going to galavant right over and give it to Danaerys Targaryen, along with my big cock, and together we’re going to take the Seven Kingdoms. I wasn’t born to be King. I paid the Iron Price, and here I stand.
Actor must be able to do a Northern English accent, preferably with a Yorkshire lilt. Yara is a strong, take no prisoners, matter of fact commander. She has a tendency to deliver jokes with a wry grin, but is a stalwart strategist that will rush into battle alongside her men.
I give you until the full moon to order all Ironborn scum out of the north and back to those shitstained rocks you call home. On the first night of the full moon, I will hunt down every islander still on our lands and flay them living, the way I flayed the twenty ironborn scum I found at Winterfell. In the box you’ll find a special gift; Theon’s favorite toy. He cried when I took it away from him. Leave the north now or more boxes will follow with more Theon. Signed Ramsay Snow, Natural born son of Roose Bolton, Lord of the Dreadfort and Warden of the North.” They skinned our countrymen, and they mutilated my brother, your Prince. Your Prince! Everything they’ve done to him, they’ve also done to you. As long as they can hurt our prince with impunity, the word ‘Ironborn’ means nothing.
Actor must be able to do a Northern English accent. Bronn is a sellsword who gives zero fucks about anyone but himself, however, he does hold a soft spot for Tyrion and possibly his brother. Bronn is very matter-of-fact and doesn't tend to mince words unless he's trying to cause a distraction. He doesn't take anyone's BS and will call them on their two-facedness. Is friendly, but will totally slit your throat for gold if someone wishes it.
My Lord, I’ve been a bit busy. My lonesome bachelor days are over. I’m to wed Lollas Stokeworth. She’s dimwitted, but if I wanted wits, I’d marry you. I didn’t know about the older sister. She’s fourty and barren. She still gets Castle Stokeworth of course, when she dies, unless she happens to perish before her father. Then Lollas gets the castle. What? Ladies from their horses and snap their pretty necks all the time. You once said, if anyone ever asked me to sell you out, you’d double their price. But if you want me to kill the Mountain for you, it better be a pretty damn big castle. If gave you the choice between fucking Lollas and fighting the Mountain, you’d have your britches down and your cock out before I could blink. He’s freakish big, and freakish strong. And quicker than you’d expect for a man of that size. Maybe I could take him. Dance around until he’s so tired of hacking at me he dropped his sword. Get him off his feet somehow. But one misstep and I’m dead. Why should I risk it?
Actor must be able to do a Manchester English accent. Sam is a shy, nebbish, but optimistic scholar. He would rather read than be in a battle, and tries to use his wits, instead of a sword, which doesn't always work out for him.
Her name is Gilly, Brother Slynt knows her quite well. They cowered together in the larder during the battle for the Wall. A Wildling girl, a baby, and Lord Janos. I found him there after the battle was over in a puddle of his own making. Whilst Lord Janos was hiding with the women and children, Jon Snow was leading. Ser Alliser fought bravely, it’s true, but when he was wounded, it was Jon who saved us. He took charge of the Wall’s defense, he killed the magna of the Thenns, he went north to deal with Mance Rayder, knowing it almost certainly meant his own death. Before that, he led the mission to avenge Lord Commander Mormont. Mormont himself chose Jon to be his steward. He saw something in Jon, and now we’ve all seen it too. He may be young, but he’s the Commander we turned to when the night was darkest.
Tormund, often called Tormund Giantsbane, is a renowned warrior and raider among the Free Folk and one of the key leaders behind Mance Rayder. Tormund respected Mance as the King-Beyond-the-Wall and suspected he was the man to lead them through the Long Night. As time passes and Mance is killed on the orders of Stannis Baratheon, he believes the prophesied warrior is his enemy-turned-friend, Jon Snow.
Actor must be able to do an East Norwegian accent. Tormund Giantsbane is an extremely fierce and determined man and a born warrior of the Free Folk in almost every way. Aside from his excellent fighting skills and monstrous strength, Tormund is a supremely intimidating individual who immediately asserts that his enemies should be afraid of him, which he does in his first encounter with Jon Snow, stating that men similar to Jon have met their ends trying to end Tormund's life in combat. Tormund is clearly hugely respected among his people, as evidenced by the immense responsibilities placed upon him by Mance Rayder during their campaign against the Night's Watch - namely to climb the Wall itself and enter the southern kingdoms on the other side. Tormund proved to be capable of great cruelty and brutality during this campaign, and in several others.
None of you saw Mance die. I did. The southern king who broke our army, Stannis, wanted to burn him alive to send us a message. Jon Snow defied that cunt’s orders. His arrow was mercy. What he did took courage, and that’s what we need today. The courage to make peace with men we’ve been killing for generations. He’s prettier than both my daughters, but he knows how to fight. He’s young, but he knows how to lead. He didn’t have to come to Hardhome. He came because he needs us. And we need him.
Lord Beric Dondarrion was the Lord of Blackhaven and the head of House Dondarrion. Initially sent out by Eddard Stark to lead a party of men to apprehend Ser Gregor Clegane for atrocities committed against the people of the Riverlands, he and his men then rallied deserters from different armies in the war, as well as commoners trying to defend their homes, to form a guerrilla resistance group known as the Brotherhood Without Banners, with Dondarrion as their leader. After Dondarrion died and was reanimated by the Red Priest Thoros of Myr, Beric and his Brotherhood started believing in the Red God, whom he believed to have a purpose for him. In the war efforts against the Lannisters, Beric was killed five more times and was brought back to life by Thoros each time.
Actor must be able to do a Received Pronunciation English accent with a Northern Irish lilt. Beric shows himself to be an extremely brave, determined, compassionate, noble and even somewhat civil to his own enemies. In private, Beric had a good deal of insecurity about how many times he'd been brought back to life by Thoros of Myr, whom he considered his closest friend. He admitted that every single time he came back from the dead, he lost a piece of himself as a result, including important memories of his past and his own life. He treated Arya Stark with a good deal of respect despite the fact that she was his prisoner, and stated that he greatly admired Eddard Stark and wouldn't wish his own predicament on the man
You don’t look much like your father. I suppose you favor your mother. When he was hand, he sent me off hunting for the Mountain. Your Wildling friend told me the Red Woman brought you back. Thoros has brought me back six times. We both serve the same lord. The North didn’t raise you from the dead. The Lord of Light wants you alive. I don’t know why. I don’t think it’s our purpose to understand, except one thing. We’re soldiers. We have to know what we’re fighting for. I’m not fighting so some man or woman I barely know can sit on a throne of swords. I’m fighting for Life. Death is the enemy. The first enemy, and the last. The enemy always wins. And we still need to fight him. That’s all I know. You and I won’t find much joy while we’re here, but we can keep others alive. We can defend those who can’t defend themselves. Maybe we don’t need to understand any more than that. Maybe that’s enough.
Missandei was originally a slave who served as an interpreter to Kraznys mo Nakloz of Astapor, until she was freed by Daenerys Targaryen. Missandei now serves Daenerys as her trusted advisor and handmaiden. After Daenerys flees Meereen atop Drogon, following an attack from Sons of the Harpy, a Meereenese insurgency organization, Missandei remains in the city as part of her small council. When Daenerys returns to Meereen, with a horde of Dothraki, she achieves peace by ending the war over the Liberation of Slaver's Bay, which is later renamed the Bay of Dragons. Missandei then sails with Daenerys in order to reclaim the Iron Throne from House Lannister, after which she begins a romantic relationship with Grey Worm during their queen's residency at Dragonstone. Following a parley with the Lannisters, Missandei joins Daenerys in response to the northern cause at Winterfell.
Actor must be able to do an Essex English accent. Missandei is very reserved, almost to the point of haughty unsureity. She speaks very deliberately and plainly, which occasionally comes off as obtuse because she was so sheltered from the outside world as a slave. She is a bit naive, but understands broader concepts very well and knows when to play along, and when to keep quiet.
You stand before Danaerys Stormborn, the Unburnt, Queen of Mereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons. Her Grace says you may approach. He says, “He came from the sky, the black one, the winged shadow. He came from the sky, and... my girl. My little girl. Her name was Zollo your grace, she was three.”
Do you remember the name you were given at birth? Or when they cut you, do you remember that? I’m sorry. I’m sorry they did that to you. It’s a terrible thing to do to a boy. Grey Worm, I’m glad you saw me today.
Lady Lyanna Mormont was the young Lady of Bear Island and thus the head of House Mormont of Bear Island ever since the death of her mother, Maege Mormont. She was the niece of Lord Commander Jeor Mormont of the Night's Watch and the first cousin of Ser Jorah Mormont. She pledged House Mormont's forces to House Stark upon meeting Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, and Davos Seaworth, making her house one of the few loyalists to fight for the Starks against House Bolton at the Battle of the Bastards. Afterward, she was the first to declare Jon Snow the King in the North during a gathering of the Northern lords at Winterfell.
Actor must be able to do a heavy Northern Yorkshire English accent and also sound like a 12-year-old child. Despite her young age, Lyanna is shown to be a competent, effective, and intelligent leader, in sharp contrast to the psychopathic and sadistic Joffrey, timid and passive Tommen, lazy and careless Robert Baratheon, arrogant and heartless Cersei, and developmentally challenged Robin Arryn. While she emanates self-confidence, she does not hesitate to consult her advisors if she sees the need. At the same time, she is not overly-reliant on her advisors, and will wave aside her maester if she has reached a firm decision already. As a female and the only living heir of a major Northern house, Lyanna challenges and strives to live up to the expectations placed upon her, and behaves in a stern, no-nonsense manner when negotiating with other houses. She is extremely proud of her house, and she is devoted to protecting Bear Island's people, indicating that she views this responsibility with the utmost solemnity.
Your son was butchered at the Red Wedding, Lord Manderly. But you refused the call. You swore allegiance to House Stark, Lord Glover. But in their hour of greatest need, you refuse the call. And you, Lord Kerwin, your father was skinned alive by Ramsay Bolton, still, you refuse the call. But House Mormont remembers. The North remembers. We know no king but the King in the North whose name is Stark. I don’t care if he’s a bastard. Ned Stark’s blood runs through his veins. He’s my king, from this day until his last day!
Lord Robett Glover is the Lord of Deepwood Motte and head of House Glover after the death of his brother, Galbart Glover, during the War of the Five Kings. He is the third to declare Jon Snow the King in the North after apologizing to him for not fighting for House Stark during the Battle of the Bastards. However, after Jon Snow bends the knee to Daenerys Targaryen, Robett Glover returns to Deepwood Motte and refuses to fight alongside the Starks in the Great War.[1]
Actor must be able to do a Northern Cheshire English accent. Lord Glover is a wishy-washy fearful man, who will back whomever is strongest at the time, and holds fast to the old ways of the Northern Houses.
Yes, my family served House Stark for centuries. We wept when we heard of your father's death. When my brother was lord of this castle, he answered Robb's call and hailed him "King in the North". And where was "King" Robb when the Ironborn attacked this castle? When they threw my wife and children in prison and brutalized and killed our subjects? Taking up with a foreign whore, getting himself, and those who followed him, killed. I served House Stark once... but House Stark is dead."
Lord Wyman Manderly is the head of House Manderly, a prominent Northern house, and a powerful bannerman of House Stark. He was the second to declare Jon Snow the King in the North after the Battle of the Bastards and names him the White Wolf.
Actor must be able to do a Northern Yorkshire English accent. Wyman is amiable and has a loud, booming laugh. He is mocked by his own people as Lord Lamprey. By his own admission, and because of his physical appearance, Wyman is seen by many as craven and foolish, however, this is a clever front; he is in reality a shrewd, calculating and intelligent man, and a staunchly loyal supporter of House Stark.
"Lady Mormont speaks harshly... and truly. My son died for Robb Stark, the Young Wolf. I didn't think we'd find another king in my lifetime. I didn't commit my men to your cause because I didn't want more Manderlys dying for nothing. But I was wrong. Jon Snow avenged the Red Wedding! He is the White Wolf. The King... in the North!"
Old Sailor and Ironborn Soldiers should have English accents, preferably Northern based accents.
"The wolf pup has gone south with the entirety of the Northern army at his back. While he's tangling with the lion in the Westerlands, the North is ripe for the taking. The ironborn will reave and pillage as it was in the old days all along the northern coast. We'll spread out dominion across the green lands securing the Neck and everything above. Every stronghold will fall to us one by one. Winterfell may defy us for a year, but what of it? The rest shall be ours. Forest, field, and hall."
