Project Overview

TW: The project contains swearing and a fair amount of adult jokes and innuendos, but nothing NSFW. The project is TV-14 at most. It is also pretty much a crackfic through and through, so things can get really absurd really fast. 


What started as an inside joke during the pandemic has now evolved into a full-blown audio drama! Paper Mario: The Rise of Voldemort is a crossover on cocaine that follows Mario going on a journey to take back the Mushroom Kingdom from the evil forces of the newly revived Lord Voldemort. The dark lord has teamed up with Bowser and is stealing the life essence of strong heroes known as "cores" to create an unstoppable fusion army. Mario sets out on a journey across the globe where he meets new friends, fights new enemies, and uncovers the mysteries of the cores.

RULES:

1. Please have a decent mic with little to no background noise

2. While there is no NSFW or mature content in this series, it does have swearing and adult humor (but nothing graphic, mostly innuendos). Just be aware of that

3. Include your discord in your audition.
4. Do not slate your audition

5. At least 2 takes per line.

This casting call is for both the prologue chapter and chapter 1. As the series progresses, more casting calls will open, so keep an eye on those.

Batman is a dark and brooding hero with a strong sense of justice. In this series, Batman's personality can be summarized as a mix between Vegeta and Rick Sanches. Batman is stubborn, egotistical, and brash, but deep down he has a strong moral compass and is willing to do whatever it takes for the greater good. Batman is a tsundere

For this production, I am looking for someone who can best capture the spirit of the character for this series, rather than mimicking a previous actor. You can use his previous voices as an inspiration, but I value performance over mimicry for this character. The actor must be able to distinguish between Bruce Wayne and Batman.

Luigi has a high-pitched and timid voice with an Italian Accent. He can be timid and anxious at times, but other times he's bubbly and friendly. His voice should be closer to his voice to his voice in the video games rather than that of the movies. It does not have to be spot on, but capture the soul of the character.

Voldemort has mysteriously returned and has partnered up with Bowser. Together, they have created an army known as the Kraite Arms: An army of fusions. With this new army, Voldemort seeks to exact his revenge on the world. Voldemort is pure evil, he exudes an aura of both grace and fear and has a snake-like demenor. He's highly egotistical and at times very coarse, but he rarely lets his temper get the better of him. Stricken with vengeance, Voldemort has absorbed the cores of multiple powerful warriors and has become stronger than ever before.

Voice:
Voldemort has a soft, whispery voice. Almost like that of a snake. His voice should convey a sense of class, professionalism, and pure evil. It should be noted that I am NOT looking for a basic impression of his movie voice, but rather an original take that best embodies the character. The films and past material are a good springboard to base the voice around, but it should strive to be unique.

He takes great pride in his strength and powers as well as his authority over others, something he expresses annoyance over should Voldemort ever cross it.

Nevertheless, he's got a big heart and is willing to do all he can to assist his newfound companions: Mario and Batman. Breaking them down emotionally so they are unable to fight before going in for the kill. DemenScar finds more satisfaction in killing than he does for the money. He's a sadistic murderer.

DemenScar's voice can be best summed up as a more evil version of Scar. He is more sadistic and more ruthless thanks to his newfound dementor half.

Peach's voice is usually very high-pitched elegant and regal. I am looking for something along the lines of her game voice, but taking influence from the movie and cartoons is also valid. However, there is a dark twist. This is Voldemort projecting himself as Peach, so if you can make the lines sound more twisted and darker, it would add to the effect that something is up.

The current Minister of Magic has Mario, Batman, and Malfoy arrested. She acts as the mid-chapter boss along with Harry Potter. She is concerned with stopping the Voldemort threat before things get out of control, leading to her downward spiral to silence anyone who might even be slightly connected to the Dark Lord. She is more of an antagonist. She will be a recurring character whose fate takes a darker turn in the future. 

Voice reference:
A medium to high-ish upper-class "know it all" voice. She thinks she knows everything and has a huge sense of pride. She doesn't like it when her knowledge is questioned. Not specifically asking for a mimic of Emma Watson, but that can be used as a point of reference to fit her appearance in this series.

The only problem is that he goes along with Hermione's plan of silencing and imprisonment. In this story, he is the head of Magical Law Enforcement. He's a police officer who tries to fight Mario and the gang. A noble hero is led astray by paranoia and fear.

Voice:
 The voice does not have to be a one-to-one match of Daniel Radcliff. But it should be somewhere within that ballpark. I'm looking for a voice that doesn't sound exactly like his movie version, but a voice that COULD sound like Harry's voice.

The Ultimate Lifeform. In this series, Shadow is a mysterious figure who aids Mario and the gang. However, his true motives are unknown. He is a major character, aiding Mario and the gang when they most need it and providing insight to Luigi. He doesn't have much to say in these two chapters, but his role will be expanded upon, revealing what his true involvement is.

Voice:
In terms of which Shadow voice it should be closer to, best to get close to  Kirk Thorton's portrayal. Shadow has a dark and brooding voice with a hint of rasp to it. This adds a level of intimidation and mystery to the character while also increasing his "cool" factor.
