Audio Drama Pilot Casting Call
Project Overview
We are looking to cast voices for the pilot episode of our audio drama! We are simply putting the call out for a single episode, however we are looking for most actors to stick with the project long-term (5-6 more episodes).
There are several requirements, regardless of which roles are being auditioned for.
- Good audio equipment and the ability to create clean recordings--we want to minamize the amount of post-production needed for voice lines, your submission should demonstrate clear and crisp audio. Obviously nothing is perfect, but please ensure you can record somewhere your freeway sounds won't leak in!
- Excitement and energy--nothing is too silly or serious for you to blast out with your heart's passion!
- Comfortable recording multiple takes, and accepting feedback.
- Ability to understand characters

Distant, calculating, a young mechanic who is trying to control everything in his life--he aspires to create the most beautiful mech in the world. Torn between his optimistic, passionate side, and his cynical, analytical side. Speaks with a cold, formal tone, but occassionally speaks in more, "down to earth" speak when he's warming up.
"Engine core is at 77.6 percent capacity...if we push it, we'll be risking a catastrophic semi-conductor meltdown!"
"Do you have ANY idea the work it takes to complete something like her? To create a mechanical 22 foot tall transforming mechanical unit, uniquely designed for racing at speeds well over 300 mph and surviving combat while carrying a human pilot?! I have spent my life wanting to create something like her! She may be a failure, but she is MY failure!"
"Confirmed...box, box this lap, I'll--we'll get you back out there. Stay calm. I'm with you."
Arturo speaks with a slight stutter--we will leave it up to each actor to decide how to interpret this into the voice lines. He is an intense, downtrodden young man--who perhaps takes himself a bit too seriously.
"At 200 miles an hour, you either make it work and stay on track…or you find yourself in the gravel. Failures can’t exist on the track."
"Get this through your dumb head...you don't belong here!"
"Judge me by who's on the podium at the end of the day...not who can scream the loudest at a camera."
A mech that has developed a superiority complex and slight taste for murder. Psychotic, but not insane. Bold, loud, wants to be the center of attention. Based off the diamondback rattlesnake, her lines are spoken with the snakey "ssss" lisp.
"We are approcaching the finisssh line quickly Ssssoriano! Approximately 5.6 ssssecondsss! Tiressss are hot!"
"HA! Now thissss issss fantassstic! Here I wassss sssstewing all day about letting you out of my grassssp…and then you come and find me! Oh revenge isss sssso sssssweeet!"
"I refussssee...to bow to any human! Let me ssssshow you all why I am QUEEN of thisss track!"
Ex-CEO and billionaire Serena, she lives a modest life, trying to run away from a corrupt and glamorous past. Nervous, anxious, yet firm when her mind is made up--she is brought back into the CEO lifestyle and forced to contend with her mistakes. She is of Mexican descent.
"Document A...Document B...Document B.45...oh my GOD when am I ever going to get out of here and DO SOME WORK?!"
"Oh don't you get started down that road...you sound just like your father!"
"Something is rotten here...and I...I'm just not sure I can fix it anymore."
The lawyer of CarioTech, Korey is not your typical straight-laced, slimey lawyer--she rushes out into the legal world with her heart on her sleeve, and the gutso to make sure the work gets done.
"I saw plenty! Yer mom had told me that you were runnin’ street races, you were doing pretty well out there!"
"I might not be the best lawyer on this planet, but goddangit, I'm the best one ya have! And I'm tellin ya, this is the only way!"
"Oooh lordy, this is gonna be a headache, aint it?"
A robotic, highly energetic TV announcer(perhaps too excited). Should be peppy, able to read lines, names quickly and naturally as a sportscaster would. Ability to speak with a slight robotic cadence is a plus.
"And that’s all the time we have for this interview folks! We gotta move onto the other ones! Thanks for stopping by! We look forward to seeing your progress when the new WildTrials begin! Goodnight folks, and remember to subscribe to Night TV on wherever you get your mechracing news!"
"We're drawing to a close on tonight's race, with just five racers left on the track. Tanner in the lead with Soriano closing in right behind her, 2 second gap time! Both pilots are about to enter the obstacle course, exiting that tricky straightaway!"
"Yes! Exciting overtakes, throwdowns between giant mechs! Folks it’s enough to make your heart race, your blood pump! Or at least I think, because I don’t have a heart! Henry, who do we have left on the track? Who has survived...THE GAUNTLET?!"
An older broadcast personality, new to the world of mechracing--serves as one of the show's two announcers, finds himself out of depth with the new technology of the world, but still trying his best. Needs to speak with the cadence of a sportscaster, able to read names and lines quickly and clearly.
"Are we back--we're back! Intro, right!--uh (coughs) Ladies and gentlemen welcome back to BlueSkyTV’s coverage of tonight’s Series III mechrace, where tonight’s pilots have been racing through 30 laps worth of intense rain!"
"We're drawing to a close on tonight's race, with just five racers left on the track. Tanner in the lead with Soriano closing in right behind her with a 2 second gap time. Both pilots are about to enter the obstacle course, leaving the straightaway--OH! And there's Tanner with the transformation!"
"Uh let's see...how on earth do you tell anyone apart on this tiny screen?! Folks, I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at here...but it seems really intense, whatever it is!"
We are looking for an audio engineer to help with editing either voice work, or create unique SFX specific to the project. Please submit a link to your portfolio or website in your application.
Say something you think would fit
Hotshot pilot and son of billionaire Solomon Soriano, Abe races mechs underground while torn between running from the legacy of his father, and the need to prove himself to the world. Spunky, energetic, not one to back down from a fight. Thinks he needs to earn the love of those around him.
"You and me-together, we'll make sure the world knows our names!"
"I don't care what kinda fancy equipment she throws on that thing...underneath, it's still got the same weaknesses!"
"YEAH! That's how we do it people! Let's gooooooooooooooooo!"
A grumpy captain who manages an underground street racing team. Speaks with the gruzzled voice of a veteran who's seen a lot of action.
Yeah, my mech! I don’t remember you funding a million dollar piece of machinery? Matter er fact, I seem to recall being the one who pays you! I’m already running this team at a loss with you barely pulling last most races, I won’t ever be racin’ again!
Look, I’m gonna go call my bank, file fer unemployment, and when I’m back, ya better be gone. Piece of advice? Go find a burger joint. Don’t try and be in the spotlight no more.
Here he comes! Everyone get to your positions! Get those tires out of the sleeves! Move move move!
TORO is a calm, yet weary robot, who's job is primarily to relay information to his pilot. Speaks in a mostly monotone voice, unless his processors are overheating.
Warning. Warning. Engine core heat levels well above cautionary levels. Pit stop advised.
Tires still cool. Minimal traction grip. The rain is hindering our heating process.
