Ian Finerty is a British professor of physics, relativity, and space-time from the future. He is quirky and distracted in the way that professors may sometimes be. He does not suffer fools gladly and seems to forget that what he's talking about is probably over the heads of the people he's talking to. If he seems a little like various versions of the Doctor, then you get the idea.
