Project Overview
Intro
Hello everyone we're back with another casting call for the collector series. For those who are new to the project, The Collector is an anthological podcast series which explores the themes of horror, myths and urban legends. So come and join us into the abyss as we descend into the depths of humanities sins.

DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is January 12th. We currently have no plans to extend this deadline, as the full script for episode 3 is ready to be released for the voice actors. We’ll notify the voice actors who have been cast in roles on the 12th or 13th of January depending on the quantity of auditions.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We communicate primarily through Discord. If you are unfamiliar with this application, you can still audition, however, we strongly recommend participation through Discord so that you can collaborate with your fellow voice actors.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
First, have fun! We take pride in bringing together talents in different mediums to create something we’re proud of, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft.
Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- we don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice). And speaking of clean-up -- please let us handle the post-production. Don't add effects to your lines -- leave that to us.
Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favourite takes. Three is the gold standard. We have a few voice actors that would rather give us more takes, and that's okay, too. However please at least remove the takes you don't want to be featured on the podcast.
Episode synopsis
In the aftermath of a bank robbery turned hostage situation, a bank worker finds herself haunted by the mysterious man in black that saved her life, only to quickly discover he may not actually exist...
The episode is written as a series of collected audio from her therapists office, phone and cctv capturing all that remains of her haunting delusions.

Lauren Whitlock – 26-year-old teller at a London bank. Lauren was caught up within a bank heist but was saved by a mysterious figure. Yet there was no physical evidence of this “man in black” being present at the scene of the crime. Her therapist claims that she is caught within a delusion due to the trauma of potentially being held at gun point and her friends death. Everyone believes she is crazy but her mind knows the truth
SHUT UP! I know what I saw, and I know just how unlikely it was, he was about 5”9, brown hair, sunglasses, black suit, and HE SAVED MY LIFE
I saw him again... At work, near the stairs on the second floor. He looked straight at me. And then by the time I got to the stairs he was... gone.
(on the phone) Hey Robin, been a while, hope you’re doing well! Sorry if I freaked you out last time we spoke. But I think we were right. About the pattern with the times? I was seeing him on a pretty scheduled basis, thanks for helping me work it all out! I started being able to time it. I wonder if you tried too? well you wouldn’t have seen anything if you had! (chuckle) the good news is, I haven’t seen him since!
Dr David Granger – psychiatrist. Dr Granger was assigned to Lauren to help her gain insight into why her trauma at the bank has allowed her to see a mysterious man in black. However his intentions to seek the truth doesn’t always seemed to be for the right reasons. Does he want to help Lauren heal from the trauma or is he trying to bury something?
Lauren... Mrs Whitlock, we’ve been over this before and we’ll go over this again as many times as we need to. But you need to let us help you. And the first step is coming to terms with the fact that these experiences are nothing more than delusions brought about by…
What we need to figure out is why your mind is still showing you him, that's the part I don’t understand...
it appears the hallucinations and no longer linked to the one location. Interesting.
Robin – Lauren’s closest friend. A loyal friend that has always helped Lauren cope through all of the distressful times in her life. Something strikes her about this “Man in black” and the situations keep getting weirder and weirder
You can’t blame yourself! You were lucky, and those monsters, they would’ve…they were going to kill someone. It wasn’t your fault. And don’t you dare say you’d rather it was you!
That’s great! Say what you want about the banks pay, but the job is boring as sin! ‘Do you good to get out of there, especially after… (Changing the subject, what happened at the bank is still a sore topic for both of them) So, where is it? Is it very out the way or?
(chuckles nervously) yeah fair enough. There’s just been some weird stuff going on lately, take care of yourself okay? Because if there’s even a chance that he is real.
Police inspector- desperate to get to the bottom of the case, they are polite and understanding to the victims, but stern when it comes to the details. And they quickly run out of patience when they begin to suspect Lauren of waiting police time
(gentle) Now remember, we’re just here to collect a statement. You can stop at any time if things get too rough.
I’m telling you Miss Whitlock! We searched that building top to bottom. We saw nothing. There were no bodies upstairs! Just the vault and the bodies of your colleges on the ground floor!
The more detail you give the more outlandish your story becomes! People have died miss Whitlock.
Richard- Lauren’s unpleasant boyfriend. Outwardly a stud. Inwardly a dud. Throughout the investigation at the bank, Richard has not been the crying shoulder Lauren desperately needed. If anything he feels that he is the victim as he grew tired of this “man in black” sob story and he was relying on Lauren’s wage to pay for his meal
I told you if you didn’t stop going on about this mystery man it was going to bite us in the arse!

Jean benchman - the bank manager of a London bank, stressed by the traumatic events, he’s trying to hold the team together over this difficult time, and Lauren’s delusions aren’t helping…
Mrs Whitlock, after what happened here you must be able to see why that was unacceptable behaviour!
I’m sorry Lauren, but you’re not the only one. We need to get past this and these outbursts…
Maybe it’s better if you find somewhere, away from what happened. A fresh start.

At 4;30 pm on the evening of Monday the 28th, police were called here, to Lloyds Bank Oxford Street, as a group of unknown individuals took staff and many members of the public hostage.
Investigators believe they had smuggled in days prior under the guise of workmen renovating the bank’s upper floors.
However, the events of yesterday are still shrouded in mystery.
