Project Overview
"In the center of the city lies a place widely renowned as the Sparklecare hospital and medical center, despised by doctors everywhere because of its glamorously clean reputation. Not one bad thing has ever come out of there- in fact, nobody has ever come out of there at all. The unfortunately named cat known as Barry Ill, desperate for treatment he can trust, goes in blindly. Soon, he discovers the horrible truth of what lurks within the hospital's walls. A story of the violently absurd, reeking with complete and utter HOPELESSNESS and DESPAIR."

Introduction
Welcome to the Sparklecare comic dub casting call. This is my first time dubbing a comic that's original, and not something related to another franchise like Deltarune, Helluva Boss, etc. I've been thinking about a comic dub of Spaklecare since I read the original comic a year ago, and I'm looking for voice actors who can help me make it a reality and possibly help bring more attention to it.
I'm currently focusing on the first volume of the comic "Everything Sucks... And Nobody's Talking About It!" but there will be more volumes if this does well or if any of the actors are interested in reprising their roles. More roles will be added if needed.
[DISCLAIMER: This project is NOT for the faint of heart. The original comic contains adult language, violence and gore, medical malpractice, torture and abuse, trauma, and sexual humor. However, the project is NOT rated 18+. The recommended age to audition is 16 and older.]

Guidelines
- This project is NOT paid. It is entirely non-profit.
- You need to have a good microphone with little to no background noise.
- Please leave your Discord handles or social media links in your auditions.
- This project is long-term. Anyone who is cast in the roles will reprise them in future volumes. If you have any problems with this, please let me know.

Regarding Barry's name
So I've been getting a lot of auditions for Barry where people misspell his last name, ill, as 3rd (as in the roman numeral III). Just saying that, Barry's last name isn't 3rd, it's ILL. Blame the font for this confusion, I'm just putting this out there for people who want to audition for Barry.

Hey there! Just a quick thing I forgot to mention. Any voice actors that don't get a role, but still did a decent job with auditioning, will get a small part in the comic dub depending how well you did with the audition. That way, no one feels left out!

A former physics student that had admitted himself to the Sparklecare hospital after his previous doctor neglected to help him with his needs. Barry struggles with a poor immune system, and that makes him prone to getting sick really easily. He also deals with paranoia over others trying to get him sick, and has an obsession with science to try and ground himself in reality.
I'd imagine Barry having a slightly nasally voice, or having a voice like Barney from Dead End: Paranormal Park.

As the lackey to the mischievious escape artist Caroline Coughs, Uni gets into a lot of trouble with the doctors. He's very messy and disorganized and pretty depressed, but he still tries hard to be kind and make his friends laugh despite the awful situation they're all in. He cares a lot about others and wants to be there for everyone as much as he can, but has trouble looking out for and taking care of himself a lot of the time. Caroline is his best friend, platonic soulmate, and biggest hero and they support each other endlessly.

The notorious escape artist patient, a master in cryptography and stealing things that aren't hers. Caroline lurks around the hospital deceiving staff and plotting escapes from this prison- sure, none of her attempts to escape have worked, but she keeps trying! Caroline is known for their bad habits and their many... partners.
For Caroline, I'd imagine her having a voice like Sasha Waybright from Amphibia.

The overly responsible and careful Hemera Philly will do anything she can to make sure the other patients stay out of trouble. Her avoidance of danger often makes the other patients see her as a bit of a killjoy, but she's only trying to prevent any killing at all. Hemera's overprotectiveness also leads to bossing people around. Sometimes she's willing to go to dangerous lengths in the pursuit of protecting her friends, but maybe her methods aren't the best...
I would prefer Hemera sound like Peridot from Steven Universe, or Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time, whichever one you prefer.

With no need to heed from danger due to their incredible luck, Jay always is eager to help the others plot ways to escape, taking action that Hemera doesn't want them taking-- but Jay helps the others get closer and closer to success more than everyone else does. They have big ideas and a strong will to get things done, and their luck can be a help for that, at least when it's working on others...
For Jay, I see them having a voice similar to either Raine from The Owl House, or Yu Asuka from Stars Align.

Infectiouspink - Voice Talent
The friendly and excitable twin of Nurse Doom. She loves hugs, bugs, and making friends! Even though the hospital is a very scary place, she does her best to be a positive energy on the environment, even if she can't really stop her boss. She cares a whole big lot about Doom, and is always trying her best to support him, especially when he's having a hard time with his job or emotional issues. She's dating Rem, the security guard, and is really close with her and loves going into work to see her everyday.
Voice-wise, due to her energetic nature, a voice similar to Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic would be great.

The brooding and grumpy twin of Nurse Mood. Doom hates pretty much everything and everyone, and is very unhappy with himself and his life. He especially hates his job and his boss, and would much rather be spending his time doing other things... but life doesn't really go his way. Essentially nobody in the hospital actually likes him (except Mood and Uni) and the feeling is often mutual. He spends most of his free time away from this horrible job by himself, trying to cope with his misery from the situation he's in.
Because of his emo personality, I'd like for his voice to be like Klaus from The Umbrella Academy, both antisocial and moody.

Rem is the top security guard (in fact, the only security guard) to the hospital. She confiscates patients' belongings when they arrive to make sure they don't have anything like weapons or things that could be used to help escape. She doesn't really like what the hospital does but she needs the money to support her daughter, Kid. She also loves her girlfriend, Nurse Mood, very very much- and the two of them are nearly inseparable off work. Rem uses her attractive appearance to manipulate and control Cuddles to the best of her ability.
I would imagine Rem sound like Rouge from Sonic X, due to both characters' similar appearance.

Funfetti is the peppy and very enthusiastic cardiologist who runs almost entirely on caffeine and sweets. She used to be a medical student before working at Sparklecare, and decided to take the job in hopes of gaining an actual career- but had no idea what this place had in store for her. They aren't really fond of this place, and doesn't like what they do here, but sugar helps them forget what's happening around them.
I don't have a specific voice for Funfetti, but I'd recommend them sounding like Double Trouble from She-Ra.

Puppy is a silly and sweet doctor who doesn't fully understand what she's doing. Lo doesn't know the stuff the hospital does is bad, and this leads to a lot of confused sadness when the patients do not like her. Puppy likes stuffed animals and cutesy things, and playing with ferries. It's a stark contrast from what lo does. She also really values Cuddles' attention and praise, completely oblivious to how bad he is, and when he scolds lov it really messes her up.
[Context: Puppy is lovegender, which is based off of the concept of love and being in love.]
Like Funfetti, I don't have a specific voice for her, but maybe something like Anya from Spy x Family or Polly from Amphibia would fit.

The sadistic, cruel, and money-loving head doctor and owner of the hospital. He's mean, selfish, ignorant, and enjoys watching others be miserable. He leeches health insurance off of the unsuspecting families of his tortured patients. He has not one loving or caring bone in his body- empathy and anthry decency for nothing and nobody.. It's best to stay out of his way, because you won't like what he does when he's mad.
For Cuddles, I'd love for his voice to be a mix of Iscream from Chikn Nuggit and Ultron from The Avengers, giving him a mix of both cute and menacing.
