Project Overview

A knight is on a quest to defeat the Evil Queen, but his sole ally is a ridiculous novice-mage, capable of only creating PB&J sandwiches.

This is a short 3D animated-film, with a max 4-minute runtime. This is a my thesis for college, and a requirement to get my degree. I'm an animator looking for excited and talented voice actors to join me on this silly, PB&J-filled adventure! I am hoping to get the voice acting finalized by December. I would ideally like to have voice actors that are able to respond quickly if I need any extra lines or effects (grunts/hits/etc.).
NOTES:


  • I will not be releasing this project publicly until it is complete. If I send you any material, it is with the condition that you DO NOT share it with ANYONE, unless I've given permission!


  • Once the project is complete, I would be more than willing to let you use the lines you did for your own portfolio.


  • You will be getting a voice acting credit in the film as well.


  • Again, there may be situations where I contact you again to go over a couple things, or add a couple lines. Please be ready for such a situation.


  • I am open to negotiating payment, but this is a student-film, thus I am unable to pay industry-rates. I can only pay a flat fee.


  • If you live in Canada, an E-Transfer would be best for me, but otherwise, I would prefer Paypal.

  • Extension

    Hey everyone!

    Due to popular demand, I am extending the due date for submissions for all 3 roles. If you didn't get a chance to audition, go for it! If you want to resubmit your audition, that's fine too!

    Note: Just to clarify the direction I'm going for all 3 characters:

    • QUEEN:

      • Mischievous, arrogant, powerful. The lines that I gave were from the beginning of the film, where she's still bored. There will be more lines later on where it seems like she's cornered.

    • KNIGHT:

      • Like Kratos from GOW, in that, he is a man of few words and has a deep gravelly voice. I want him to almost sound tired, like he's been doing this for a long time.

    • MAGE:

      • Young, very silly. He's got an air of youth to him, and is slightly niave but means well!

  • Deadline

    I listed the deadline of the project as the 26th. I actually meant that as the deadline for submissions, in case anyone was confused. The deadline for completing the actual lines will be discussed with the chosen voice actors. Thank you to everyone who auditioned, it makes me so happy to know that there's so much interest in the project. Please remember that I am a student, and this is my first time using CCC. It may take some time for me to navigate the site and the process. I will be looking through the auditions as soon as I can, but I am currently navigating my other deadlines so there may not be any updates right away. Again, thank you all for your patience and interest!

This is one of the lead roles. KNIGHT is an older Knight character that is deadset on completing his mission: Defeating the Evil Queen. The mage he requested to come aid him on his quest is not as... experienced as he would like. He stubbornly decides to take matters into his own hands and fights her on his own. It does not work. He has to find a way to look past his perception of this young mage, and work together to complete their quest!


I'd like an adult voice, someone who can convey that the character has had many experiences and wisdom. Think: Kratos from The God of War. If possible, having your own equipment to record would be good. 


--> Will need the lines in the script, as well as some grunts/moans/sounds of being hit, as this is an action-based film.


NOTE: I will be able to share the character designs and the animatic that I have currently, but please note that they will continue to be updated all the way until December, thus may need some revisions from the voice actor.

This is 1 of 3 lead roles. QUEEN is the villain of the short film. She is self -assured and quite arrogant in her strength (makes sense, she's strong). She underestimates her opponents (KNIGHT and MAGE), until she realizes that they have strength when fighting together. She is eventually defeated in an unexpected way.


--> Will need the lines from the script, as well as grunts, moans, perhaps a final scream (defeat scene), and some laughs.


NOTE: I will be able to share the character designs and the animatic that I have currently, but please note that they will continue to be updated all the way until December, thus may need some revisions from the voice actor.

This is 1 of 3 lead roles for this project. MAGE is an excited yet slightly naive mage, sent to accompany  a seasoned knight in taking down the Evil Queen! The knight needs a plethora of high ranking spells, but the only spell MAGE can do? Creating a PB&J sandwich... He tried okay? Forced to go to the sidelines, MAGE has to watch his new comrade get demolished in the fight! MAGE has to step up in order to save KNIGHT, how will he do it? PB&Js... MAGE learns to be confident in his skills, and does his best to help KNIGHT out!


--> Will need the basic lines from the script, as well as some grunts/hit sounds.

--> Voice actor should also be willing/able to add to voice lines and be able to improv as we go.
