I'm very happy that my project has nearly 100 auditions! I'm amazed to receive this much interest and support. On the other hand of course it's going to be super hard to choose. I will try to cast every character by sometime next week.
Ecosphere (animated short film)
Project Overview
Ecosphere is a hand-drawn 2D animated short film I'm making as my student film at RITCS school of art in Brussels, Belgium. The story revolves around Redd, a fire ant who doesn't feel at home in her colony but is convinced it's the only place where she belongs. She finds herself stranded in a large glass fishbowl which the local bugs refer to as the Ecosphere, a place where every outcast insect can be themselves. Redd employs the help of a new group of friends to escape the Ecosphere and get back home, only to realise that the anthill doesn't miss her at all and decides to return to her new friends and new life.

Flo is a fruitfly and the first to meet Redd when she enters the Ecosphere. She's a very loud, positive and slightly hyperactive character that serves as Redds opposite. She immediately wants to help Redd escape and won't stop at anything to get her back home even though Flo herself does not understand why Redd would want to return to her old life full of rules and responsibilities.

Wally is a cowardly and nervous pill bug that seeks constant validation from his friend group. He can roll up into a ball and roll around and spends most of his time hanging out with Bones the springtail. His character is largely inspired by Dr. Zoidberg from Futurama.

I am not very good when it comes to backgrounds so I will need one or multiple background artists. The project is still in an early state so I haven't secured a budget yet. I will be requesting a budget soon but if I'm not granted one I will need to pay out of my own pocket. Therefore payment is something I can not yet set in stone, but I'm willing to negotiate. I'd also like to pay per background and not per hour (if i have revisions you will be paid extra according to how much extra work it would be).
