Project Overview
Astro Cat and Moonmouse is a comic about two unlike colleagues of the same name who are tasked with venturing across the galaxy either to promote scientific developments or save the day in the nick of time. Although they lead interesting lives working for the Intergalactic Do-Gooders and Fielders Fraternity; they also have interesting stories outside of work where they learn about themselves.

Astro Cat is a young scientist whose main goal in life is to make the galaxy a better place. She is good at building small machines and gadgets. Within the workplace, she is most often given assignments dealing with physical sciences. When the galaxy is in need of saving, Astro Cat usually takes the leadership role, and more often than not outsmarts the various foes she's up against.

Hey! You must be that employee The Chief sent to help out, come with me, I'll show you around! I think you're gonna love what we're up to.
Oh! We do a lot of things! Right now, we're working on a vaccine for a disease from Planet Parelis (pronounced Pear-liss). The Chief sent you to help mass distribute it.
Oh no! You won't get it! You have nothing to worry about! Unless you're one of these three species; which you don't seem to be, you're at no risk of getting the disease that's been spreading there.
Yep!
If that's so, then yep!

Hmm, that is a possibility, but I'd really like it if you could make a choice today, OK?

The other lead role, Moonmouse is the head of nuclear development at IDGAFF. She draws plans for various power plants, researches the necessity of one on a given planet, and is responsible for the maintenance and construction of power plants across the galaxy. However, she more often than not prefers guzzling down whatever food may be in proximity or sleeping in her chair. Although she is just as smart as, if not smarter than Astro Cat, she tends to listen to heart rather than her brain, she gets distracted and sidetracked by the little things that catch her interest. However, when the situation calls for it, she takes things extremely seriously; when she is deep in focus in a serious situation, she doesn’t like being bothered.

So, enlighten me, what is it you guys do around here?
Diseases!? Vaccines!? They want me to go to some planet I've never been to and have me be around sick people?! Will I get sick too?!
OK, but everything else is still true, right?
So, you're telling me that if I say "yes", I'm going to be sent off to some unknown planet that I've never heard of, let alone been to?
And while I'm there, I'll have to stand around all day to stick syringes in the arms of the masses?
And I'll have to worry about people sneezing in my food whenever I sit down to eat, I know I won't get sick, but eww, that's gross!!!
Well, by convention I'd typically say no.., but since the name of the comic is "Astro Cat and Moonmouse", I suppose I'm inclined to say yes.

The top dog of IDGAFF, The Chief is a respected figure in the intergalactic circle.
The Chief, as the central authority figure, makes sure that his organization is running on time and on schedule, pleasing him is what every employee strives to do, even the more stubborn and bullish department heads higher up in the chain know that he’s the biggest fish in the pond.
He is a very stern individual, and expects his workers to put their all in everything they do. However, he is willing to work with employees that are struggling to improve their act, he doesn’t fire employees unless they are absolutely unwilling to change. He is devoted to his position within the company, he spends more time working than anything else. His seniority, however, means that he’s starting to lose grasp of certain things. He also tends to lose sight of and / or misplace things, and he’s not the most physically fit. However, he has no plans of retiring any time soon.
He has a very deep, commanding voice; fitting for someone with authority like his.

Hmm, I’m very pleased by what I’m seeing here… tell you what, you have the approval of me to mass produce both the vaccine and the medicine, and once you’ve met your quota we can begin distributing it.
Ah, ah, ah, let me finish!
I don’t like sending IDGAFF (pronounced as its written) personnel out on their own missions like these so I will call for another IDGAFF employee to accompany you, fortunately I have somebody to accompany you already.

Most commonly seen either doodling in her sketchbook or at a sewing machine; Butterscotch is Moonmouse’s beloved girlfriend.
Although she is very supportive of what her girlfriend does at work, she can’t help but miss her whenever they’re so far apart. She is very approachable and very friendly, she’ll always be the first to start a conversation and get to know someone. She’ll always lend a listening ear or a helping hand whenever one’s needed. She’s very open-minded and never judgemental, though she has a bit of playfully sarcastic edge to her, she loves joking around and teasing her friends whenever she sees an opportunity.
Butterscotch and Moonmouse are inseparable partners, nothing could ever tear them apart. They always enjoy spending time together; even something that would easily bore Moonmouse to death is made one hundred times more special because they’re doing it together. She also enjoys being “the important one” in the relationship, Moonmouse will go to the end of the galaxy to pamper her and show how much she loves her, and she enjoys every minute of it, she likes being the center of Moonmouse’s world; and Moonmouse is very much the center of hers.

Well honey, it isn’t often that you get upset like that in public, and now you’re all flighty over the six o’clock news, that’s why I’m inclined to think that, and I’m asking because I want to help you; you know that I’ll always be by your side no matter what. If you don’t want to, that’s OK, I just hate seeing you so sad…
Oh honey, I really think you’re going about this the wrong way… I think you’ll do a wonderful job!

Look, I know it might seem a bit intimidating; and I know you’re not exactly a people person, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try, you won’t get anywhere if you tell yourself things like that, it sets you up for failure. You need to believe in yourself, say to yourself “I’ll do great!” If it means anything, I want you to know that I believe in you, honey…

Stitches is the newest scientist at IDGAFF, he’s fresh out of university and is still trying to get familiar with some of the scientific concepts and terminology thrown at him.
Despite his lack of familiarity, that doesn’t mean he won’t try, he tries his best to be a very dedicated worker in just about any situation.
However, he is easily overwhelmed by anything outside of his comfort zone; and he’s especially shy and soft-spoken. Though beneath this teddy bear’s anxious exterior lies a good heart, he’s generally very kind and polite to those he meets and always willing to lend a hand, just make sure you don't catch him by surprise!
He has a high pitched, nervous, skittish kind of voice.

Whew! That sure was a lot of training! Now I should read up for that test, I think…
Uh.. yes.. no… maybe?? I’m not exactly sure…
Wait, WHAT?!? But it’s my first day and I’m not ready yet! I just finished all the training, I haven’t even gotten a chance to study for the test! Also, isn’t it a violation of policy to place a scientist in training like me to an assignment on their own?
Alright, they want me to try and dissolve that highly reactive pink stuff without it blowing up?
Hmm, I think I have an idea, but first, I’ll have to try and gather a sample… I just hope it doesn’t explode on me…
I got my sample.. now, there’s a specific type of solution they have that’s nonexplosive and anti reactant, I hope they have some up here… only one way to find out for sure…
