Down in the Well- Musical Casting Call
Project Overview
Down in the Well is a musical short story consisting of 6 songs, with an electronic score meant to invoke the feeling of video games! We follow Revvie as he runs from his burned down village, heart filled with guilt at his own cowardice, before falling down into a strange well. Inside, Revvie navigates dangers and challenges that force him to confront his inner demons and change his heart!
As stated, Down in the Well is a short musical, with a handful of small roles. All 6 voices in the musical (Including my own) will double as the ensemble, with different characters assigned to ensembles A and B, so keep that in mind when auditioning. The audition process will be 3 weeks long (Unless extended). The characters Other and Ghost Girl have song recommendations. These certainly aren't required; just an optional tool if you can't think of a fitting song.
Once cast, there will be an 8 week deadline to turn in your parts! This can be amenable if you have to deal with extenuating circumstances. Communication is key! There might be times where I ask for another take. It doesn't mean the previous take was bad or anything, it usually just means I want more takes to sample from when putting the songs together.
To audition, you just need the ability to sing, time and energy to turn in your recordings, and a solid recording microphone! I'd like auditions to sing for at least 40 seconds, but longer is certainly welcome! Please leave your Discord username!

Other is a sort of 'inner voice' for the main character, constantly pressuring him to shut all others out and only care for himself. He manifests as a black silouette of the main character. He appears in songs 1, 2, 4, and 5, and is a tenor role.
He is part of Ensemble A.

Ghost Girl is a lost childs spirit, who guides the main character through the catacombs of the well's bottom, and protects him from other, angrier spirits that lurk. She appears in songs 2 and 3, and is an alto/soprano role.
She is part of Ensemble B

The upset child is a little girl who had lost her cat, before the main character helps her find him! She appears in song 4, and is an alto/soprano part.

The coachman is an older man who's carriage had broken down, who the main character helps fix his broken carriage. He appears in song 4, and is a baritone role.
He is part of Ensemble A

The griever is a woman who had lost her family along ago, who the main character meets as she mourns them at a grave. She appears in song 4, and is an alto part.
