Project Overview

Hello! Welcome to, The Living Doll !


The Living Doll is a short story about a young girl named Constance, a paranoid insomniac who fantasizes(?) a creepy doll coming to life. Not only does this peculiar doll speak, but she's also out for blood

partly inspired by 2009's Coraline

Interested in auditioning? Please read the rules and requirements


1) Must have good audio quality. I'm not expecting studio level or anything, just avoid any background sound or muffled audio that may come from a phone recording. USB microphones are not required but preferred!

2) Must have PayPal if you get cast in a paid role. No need to tell me your PayPal until you're cast. All payments will come AFTER lines are received!

3) Do NOT audition if you won't be able to get the lines done in a timely manner. The script is fairly short, each character only has a few lines, (except Constance) so keep that in mind.

4) Must send in lines via this casting call. Once cast, lines will be sent as WAV files to my email

5) You're 100% free to audition for as many roles as you wish! Just be wary, if you audition for multiple roles, you can be cast for multiple

6) Please be friendly and easy to work with!

  • Deadline Coming Soon!

    Hello all! I just wanted to start off by thanking all of you amazingly talented people for taking interest in my project! As the deadline draws near, I'm beginning to find the voices I want to cast. That being said, some roles are lacking auditions and/or lacking suitable voices, so make sure to submit any last minute auditions before the deadline! In about 2 days, I will begin the casting process as well as contacting actors for follow ups! If you haven't already, feel free to audition for the "Extras" role for, I have many extras that need appropriate voices. I don't want to ramble, I know all of you have very busy lives, but I'd like to thank you one last time for auditioning! See you in a couple of days!

    Hello all you talented people! First, I'd like to thank you for taking interest in my upcoming project, The Living Doll! We still have plenty of time for auditions however, I'd like to remind you all that I'm in need of many extras. Some extras play a key role in the story and have multiple lines. Constance is a high school freshmen. For the past few months, she's suffered with insomnia that's caused her a great deal of paranoia and fear. She's an outcast that tends to keep to herself most times. Over the course of the story, she slowly dives further into madness.

Her voice is medium ranged, slightly tom boyish.

  • CONSTANCE: *emotional* Why do good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people?! My grandmother didn’t deserve any of this! She is- was a good woman! She had so much love to give… And I… *sadness grows* I didn’t even… Get to say goodbye…

    CONSTANCE: I don't want her stupid doll! Just leave me alone....


  • CONSTANCE: *wakes in a cold sweat, panting in fear* It was just a dream, that's all... I need to calm down...

    CONSTANCE: Wha-what do you mean...?

    CONSTANCE: *in shock and fearful* I didn't cause this! I didn't cause any of this! I-it's pure coincidence!

Susie is the doll that comes to life. 

She has a childlike voice, that sounds innocent while remaining creepy. She is essentially a spirit trapped inside a doll, so try to bring that essence to your audition.

Mom tries to hold herself together. After the death of her mother, she's experienced a great deal of stress however, tries to shield away her emotions for Constance's sake.

She has a soft, motherly tone, with a hint of stress constantly looming over her.

Grandmother is very old. She suffers from memory loss which pains her. She struggles remembering everyone and everything. She's very sweet, but sadness looms over her.

Her voice is old and broken, sounding hurt. This role must sound very convincing as, it's very important to the story.

  • GRANDMOTHER: I want you to have this. Her names... *she forgets for a moment, before remembering* Susie. She was given to me by my grandmother too, many many years ago.
