Adrenic Legends: Black Dragon Series (Character Auditions) [NEW CHARACTERS ADDED!]

Adrenic Legends: Black Dragon Series (Character Auditions) [NEW CHARACTERS ADDED!]

Project Overview

  1. Be sure to read the updates!

Taking place in a world far from our own, the Adrenic Legends series focuses on the magical world of Adrin. In the Black Dragon subseries, three friends are summoned from Earth in order to fulfill a prophecy; defeat a threat who aims to dominate both Adrin and Earth under his growing cult-turned-empire.

As an RPG Maker MZ game, this project has a very anime-like feeling to it. Keep this in mind as you audition!

Also, please note that the lines you audition with are subject to change as the story isn't 100% finished, so the script isn't finished yet. If you want a better feel for the story and the series as a whole, be sure to read the Adrenic Legends: Black Dragon Series webnovel on Tapas!

  • Decent mic

  • Discord

Kieran is the young apprentice of Azerael. He is 19 years old and doesn't like to be too lax. He takes on missions with a serious mindset and doesn't want to stop until it's clear that quest is completed. He's abrasive, relatively arrogant, confident in his skills and generally pretty harsh, but CAN FIND A SOFT SIDE. His voice can be described as Medium, with a bit of a growl to it when he gets serious.

As always, lines can/may be changed as the script develops.

*To understand the severity of this line, a Drenma is a currency used in the nation of Sadin worth a little less than an American Penny.

  • [Dialogue]

    1) [Alec brings up the fact that he is acting too hastily about the situation and asks him to relax] (Sternly) No, we don't have time to "relax!" Anxor and his army are this close to conquering Messel! We have to act NOW!

    2) (Normal tone) Look, you may have your little "fairy tales" at home. But this is reality, and this is not one of your sissy little bedtime stories. We're talking about a whole damn continent. And then next, world. And after that, your own world. Still think this is a game? (Coldly) Come off it and get your damned head in the game.

    3) [It's night time. Alec finds Kieran by a fire lit in the center of the village they're camping in. Alec notices he is troubled and asks him if he needs to talk. Kieran reminisces on painful memories from his past being sold off in the slave trade when he was 9. As this is a dark past he brings up, please try to focus on conveying that feeling.] (Grimly) I hardly made it out of there alive. Starving to death every day. Working your ass off for hardly a Drenma*. I was lucky to find my way off the plantation at 12. It was a few days later that I had stumbled into some nearby forest. I was hungry. Thirsty. And just before I succumbed to my fate, it was Master Azerael who found me leaning skinny and frail against a tree. He gave me food, water, and shelter. Took me on and taught me how to use Magic. I owe it to him to make sure that this mission I succeed, no matter what the cost... I wouldn't be talking to you if it wasn't for him.

  • [Battle]

    1) Come here!

    2) Let's begin!

    3) Thunder Hammer!

    4) *Grunts from swinging/punching*

    5) *Getting damaged*

    6) Lightning Magic Lost Technique: True Thunderstorm!

    7) You're mine!

    8) Time to show you guys how Azerael's apprentice does it!

Role assigned to: Xan Phallan

Axios is Anxor's father, as well as one of the souls that dwells inside of the protagonist. He's an older war hero from 2,000 years ago on Adrin, and has a gravelly, but smooth voice. The pitch can be described as a medium-low, being around 45 when he'd died.

  • 1) (In thought, as if trying to figure something out) He's up to something. I doubt that his goal is solely to take over two entire worlds just because of an old grudge against me. I wonder, however... what could have happened inside of Dontaire to cause him to act this way?

  • 2) [In a dream state, Alec questions who Axios is, and why he sees him.] Since you were pushed to your psychological limit, you had to surpass them in order to break out of Daerus' spell. Else, you wouldn't have hoped to survive. Doing so allowed you to perceive parts of your psyche that else would still have remained unknown.

  • 3) (Reminiscing) Azerael, huh? *Chuckle* I sure miss that guy. Next time you see him, let him know that you spoke to me. He may be able to teach you how to properly awaken my magic. We may never speak. But it will certainly be a nice reunion.

Role assigned to: saitogami1

Nyles of the Blast is one of the Eros Four. He uses Blast Magic and is often seen talking to and teaming up with Ryx in their conquests, often flirting with her. Nyles is 26, with a medium voice. Personality-wise, he's very vocal, saying what he thinks no matter how it may sound to the others. He serves Master Eros, but also isn't against trash-talking some of her plans and ideas if they sound dumb. However, for fear of death, he doesn't do it around her. He is a slave that feigns confidence and comfort in what he does in order to not be killed by Valora herself. His voice is a medium-low, with a slight "cool guy" tone.

Note: "Ryx" is pronounced "Ricks"

Notice: The lines provided are simply test lines and do not appear in the script itself. They are used to see how you would play the character if they were in certain scenarios.

  • 1) [During a conquest] (Chuckling as he shoots another bolt of Blast Magic) Man, with all of this chaos! It reminds me of when we took over Northern Trogia! Ain't that right, Ryx?

  • 2) [Ryx slaughters a couple of enemy Wizards] (Flirtatiously) Aw come on, you were already hot enough before you went and did that. [She flashes a glare his way] (Nervously) Okay, okay. Shutting up.

  • 3) [Ryx opens up to him inside of an inn.] (Grimly) I've given up hope that we can ever be freed from the lives we've led. But look, Kitten. If we stop our act now, Valora WILL come for us. (Pause) We cannot afford to take that risk, Ryx. Quite frankly, I don't want to die before I'm freed. And I sure as hell don't want you to be killed in front of me. At all, actually...

Ryx of the Storm is one of the Eros Four. 25 years old, she uses Storm Magic and is often seen teamed up with Nyles. On the surface, she is focused and collected, but has a softer side that shows whenever she and Nyles are in a not-so-professional setting. She is a slave that feigns confidence and comfort in what she does in order to not be killed by Valora herself. Her vocal pitch is a medium to medium-high. Her normal tone has a stronger, more confident tone while her tone alone with Nyles is her more natural voice, soft and somewhat vulnerable.

Notice: The lines provided are simply test lines and do not appear in the script itself. They are used to see how you would play the character if they were in certain scenarios.

  • 1) [Nyles is hitting on her in the middle of a battle] (Focused, not angrily) Don't try to flatter me at a time like this, Nyles. I'll cut you down just as quickly as these Leodic scum, don't think I won't.

    (Note: Leodic is pronounced "Lay-oh-dic")

  • 2) [She and Nyles are alone inside of an inn.] (Softly) Nyles? Do you think that we'll ever be able to atone for all we have done? I know Valora promised to release us once this was all over, but... will we ever TRULY be free...?

  • 3) [Meeting the protagonists in a cavern] How interesting... I didn't believe her when she told us that some teenagers were gonna be trying to take out the tower. No matter... you low-lives won't be able to make it much further than here.

The Black Dragon. He is the second soul that resides inside of the protagonist's body, along with Axios, his original wielder and friend. He was a dragon, so I imagine his voice to either be a low, thunderous voice, or something medium-low to low, with gravel.

Notice: These lines are simply test lines to determine how you spin the character and may not end up in the final script.

  • 1) I am Ignios, King of the Dragons. But I have also been known by many in the Adrenic realm as the Black Dragon.

  • 2) I see. This man is not somebody you should take lightly. Be wary.

  • 3) I simply cannot loan you my power as of yet. You must activate your Second Arcanic Origin in order to even begin to handle my power. You have a long way to go, young one. Better get started...

Markos Zelf

Markos Zelf is a man who is being hunted by the investigative branch of the Grand Army of Leod. He's a petty thief who usually focuses on small loot like jewelry and, in some cases, quality weaponry/items. However, one day he does something out of the ordinary and goes for an artifact that gives the town of Riverville its protection. Best way to explain what his voice sounds like is similar to a bandit-style character. He's stealthy, but his voice is far from soft and quiet. Instead, more low and gruff. Medium-low to medium, MAYBE a slightly higher pitch. Nothing needs to be TOO deep, of course. Find a good in-between of normal man and barbarian.

  • 1) Damn it! So I've been found, huh? No matter. I'll make quick work of you, then I'll finish my mission.

  • 2) I don't think it would matter if you knew. You're not gonna survive long enough to report to anybody even if you did!

  • 3) [After being interrogated as to who hired him] The Followers of Anxor... They told me to get it for some project they were working on here in the Messel region.

[He gets asked why he would want to help the cult spread their influence further]

I don't. They're a group with flawed ideologies. You wouldn't understand anyway, kid.

Josei is one of the Eros Four and is known as Josei of the Void. He's the weakest of the Four, but he's determined and refuses to give up, causing him to persist longer than the rest. He is 24 years old and has a low pitch to his voice.

Notice: The lines provided are simply test lines and do not appear in the script itself. They are used to see how you would play the character if they were in certain scenarios.

  • 1) [Josei chuckles for a moment] Well, perhaps you don't know who I am. I am Josei of the Void! If you really think you stand a chance in hell against me, then surely you believe that you have a death wish!

  • 2) [A lone wanderer threatens to stop Josei] Oh? Really? You and what power?

  • 3) [Josei is leading a conquest in a village] I TOLD them this would happen if they didn't submit to the Followers of Anxor! This is on them, not us. Now... It's time for them to look into the Void.

Tiff is one of the main protagonists of the series. Her initial personality is shy and a bit of a scaredy-cat in some scenarios. However, throughout the series, her arc causes her to become more confident in her abilities, unlocking her true potential. Her voice is a medium to medium-high and should be able to go soft, and also strong in certain areas.

This is a long-term role, expect to be in it for a couple of years if you audition.

  • [Kieran, one of the protagonists, is complaining that if the other three weren't there, he could have finished off the enemy without any issues] (starts off semi-confidently, as if it took her a bit to work up the courage, but then trails off into a more insecure tone) Look here, Kieran! You may think that you can do this without us, but... overall, I'd say you're acting... stupid.

  • [An antagonist is taunting her] (Weakly, having just been beaten up) I'm not... scared of you... I am not as weak as I was a year ago... you can hit me all you want. Kick me. Pelt me with a storm of stones all day. But I'm GOING to succeed... for them... for him... I won't let you get past me... (she prepares an ice spell) So you'd better hit me with everything you've got...

This line does not appear in the first game, but is probably going to be reserved for a later one. This is solely to test the range of the VA auditioning.

  • [Kieran blames Tiff for the death of one of his old friends] (teary-eyed) I did all that I could... do you hear me? I DID ALL THAT I COULD! (pause, starting to cry more) I ran to her immediately after she was hit... I stayed by her side while you fought... she told me my hair was pretty... that I was kind for choosing to help her instead of ditching her... I used more energy than I had trying to heal her! (Pause, angry) So don't you DARE tell me that I didn't do everything that I could, Kieran!

Role assigned to: Nasim Benelkour

Commander Mason is the serious, straight-forward leader of the 94th Division of Leod. He keeps tabs on everything and everyone when he takes on a case, including his subordinates. His voice can be described as gruff, with a medium-low to low pitch, being around 30 years old. I imagine him having some kind of slight accent, but it is not required.

  • 1) (Inquisitively) And what are a group of children doing approaching my planning table?

  • 2) (Agitated) Viktor, that idiot. He ought to be demoted...

  • 3) [The main party is defeated by their own attack. As the villain escapes, the supports of the building give out as the building falls on top of them. Miraculously the four of them survive and are rescued by Viktor and the rest of the Commander's team. The main protagonist wakes up to see the village he'd worked so hard to defend in shambles as smoke billows into the air. "Oh no..."] (Grumbling, half-exhausted and halfway in thought) Don't worry. You evacuated the last of the villagers before you went on your little suicide mission. ["Is that so...?"] (Coldly) So what in the hell were you thinking? You may have gotten lucky taking out the Eros Four, but don't be so arrogant as to believe that you could have taken on a threat like that with no backup. No cohesion. ["I don't know... we seemed to have been doing well. And then..."] And then you gave into the fear? Gave into deception? Lost focus? I know it wasn't your spell that caused your loss, but you could have died in there. Had we not tended to your wounds, you'd probably be dead right now. You're lucky Viktor gave enough of a damn to find you all. Not saying I'd have left you knowing you were here, but there are bigger matters at hand. That psycho is still at large.

Commander Shen is 27 years old and is in charge of the 101st Outrider Legion, which is part of the 13th Investigation Battalion sent to Riverville. His voice is medium-low to low.

Notice: The lines provided are simply test lines and do not appear in the script itself. They are used to see how you would play the character if they were in certain scenarios.

  • 1) [A superior officer walks up to him and asks him about the current situation] We sent out the first Outrider Squad last night. They've yet to return, sir.

  • 2) The name's Commander Erik Shen. Don't start to think this expedition's going to be blissful, this is a dangerous mission we've been assigned. I expect you to be working at your absolute best come sunrise. We ride at first light.

  • 3) [Dark Wizards have Commander Shen and his Outriders surrounded as he and his men take cover behind some debris] (Tensely) Wish we'd brought more Battlemages with us... This could definitely pose a problem. (Sigh) And I seem to have run out of powder bombs...

Pau Yaven ("Pow Yavin") is the mayor of the port town of Archia. He's about 53 years old and has a relatively gravelly voice. His first interaction with the party is after they defeat a bunch of Demons and cult members who had invaded and destroyed most of the town.

Notice: Some of the lines provided are simply test lines and do not appear in the script itself. They are used to see how you would play the character if they were in certain scenarios.

  • 1) [A cult member has appeared at the gate and requested to speak with Pau Yaven at the gate, explaining that if they didn't yield, their town would soon be conquered.] Conquered? Come on, lad. There hasn't been a major conquest in Leod for the past three and a half centuries. Surely you don't expect me to believe you. After all, we're well-equipped to deal with whomever may appear.

  • 2) [Pau assumes the Party were the ones who stopped the intruders as they all nod.] Very well. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Pau Yaven, the mayor of this once lovely port town. (Pause, and then a little sadder) And now it's just a pile of rubble and towers of smoke...

  • 3) Anything you believe may add to this character.

Azerael Briarheart

The wise wizard character of the series, Azerael is calm, collected, and very rarely gets emotional. Due to a curse he took on eons ago, he is 4,156 years old, chronologically, but looks no older than 24, so his voice is that of a young adult-type of character. His voice is a warm medium to a medium-low and his cadence in speech is moderately paced.

  • Dialogue Lines

    1) [The party is brought into this unfamiliar world and never told anything for the sake of time. Azerael comes out and greets them.] (Comfortingly, but not far off from his normal tone) I must apologize sincerely for bringing you guys here the way that we did. However, I fear that our time is running short. (Pause) And quite frankly, it is of the essence...

    2) [Facing off for the first time against Ezekiel, his rival character from the second game onward] (Calmly) I don't think that this is something that you want to try me on. See, I believe that 4,157 years of experience, versus around thirty of yours, holds a greater significance in how this battle will turn out.

    3) [This may not appear in the game, but I needed something with SOME kind of emotion to gauge your skills better. Azerael has just found King Axios Briarheart, his close friend at the age of 2,156 years old, impaled by a marble spike created via Terra Magic and dead. He tracks down Anxor and confronts him.] (Angry, slightly saddened. Not shouting, just mad) You... you killed him. Didn't you? Here I thought you were a respectable young man. I thought he'd raised you better. I thought I'D raised you better! But it's clear that even I make mistakes. You want to test your skills, boy? (Raising his voice slightly) Then how about you test them on ME!

  • Battle Lines (Not in any particular order)

    1) This WILL hurt.

    2) A shame our paths had to cross again, Anxor...

    3) Basic attack sounds, basic damaged sounds
