The ultimate wizard in terms of attack and defense. Dark Magician is a stoic mage who's wise beyond his years, rarely gets flustered or shows much emotion at all. Even though he's emotionally distant, that doesn't mean he lacks empathy or sympathy. As a hero he has those qualities in spades. He is incredibly serious when the matter of innocent life is at stake and will do everything in his power to protect it. His power can range from simple parlor tricks to earth shaking magical attacks.

For the voice I want, I'm looking for something that embodies the qualities above. He should sound calm and collected, but not bored. He's not above the situation he's found himself in, he's simply steeled his resolve and isn't going to get irrational about things. An innocent sage reincarnated into a ruthless killing machine. While on the outside Blue-Eyes is a ruthless engine of destruction, internally the soul of the priestess who's soul created it still yearns to rest easily and not hurt anyone. While she hates the idea of hurting people, she is none the less aware of and willing to use her phenomenal strength to protect herself. She takes no pleasure in the destruction she causes as a dragon, but recognizes it as a tool vital to her survival.

For her voice, all of Blue-Eyes' dialogue is internal, so while others will hear dragon roars, the sage inside will try and fail to communicate. She should have an air of sadness about her. She's caught in a situation that she hates, and wants nothing more than to get away from her own beastly form. She's not a coward though. If all else fails and she has to fight, she'll fight with all her power to attempt to win. I want her voice to reflect both halves, both her melancholy nature and drive to survive when pushed far enough. A vicious and ambitious android, Jinzo was rebuilt through cybernetics and forsook magic in the name of machinery. He now sees the merging of man and machine as a way not just to create the ultimate species, but also break the cycle of life and death as a whole. Any life that refuses or resists becoming an android is Jinzo's enemy. He is positive of his path and will cruelly eliminate anyone that gets in his way.

For his voice, Jinzo is a man revived by machines, and now sees them as the key to some form of godhood. His voice should be raspy, like speaking to a degree is uncomfortable for him. Despite that he should have an air of menace about him, the type that clearly states superiority complex. Jinzo's tone when talking to others should be demeaning to an extent, and incredibly hostile when talking about people who are impeding his path. No need to apply filters, though you're welcome to if you want. A good frame of reference for that would be Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid on Playstation with his gas mask. A demonic warrior who's mind has left him, and now has a single desire, destroy. Makyura has no shred of sense left, instead he now lives to gather souls to feed the deity he worships, the Egyptian Sun God Ra. With his clawed gauntlets he rips into his opponents with little regard for his own safety, hollering and yelling more than he ever forms a coherent sentence.

Fair warning, Makyura is a more vocally intensive role than most thanks to his personality as a brash and sadistic killer. His voice should be gravelly and weathered, like he's spent a life time screaming at the top of his lungs as he rushes into battle. He has little reason, restraint, or a want to have either. A superhero from the depths of outer space, Elemental HERO Neos is a defender of justice anywhere a hero is needed. He deals with large scale galactic level threats on the regular, and handles them all with the sort of confidence and heroism befitting the most reveared of all the Heroes.

Neos is one of the most morally righteous characters, believing in doing the right thing regardless of personal risk and danger. Despite that though he's not a battle hardened warrior, at the end of the day he's a superhero and has a capacity to quip and joke in the face of peril. Along with that his also his capacity for empathy and a good natured spirit. He should be a kind guiding force when needed but also the protector of the cosmos when that's required. A good reference for his sort of voice is Captain America or Superman. A strange and disturbing beast from its very own country, Ojama Yellow is one of the many freaky Ojamas. Its odd apperence makes it the target of many monsters, both those who would hunt it for food, and those who would consider it an eyesore. Ojama Yellow lives in a constant state of fear that it's going to be destroyed at any moment. Life for an Ojama is horrible, but do not weep for them, god built them wrong on purpose as a joke.

Ojama Yellow is one of the few monsters with a canonical voice in the GX anime, so if you simply want to use that as inspiration be my guest. I left the voice cast for this character open to any gender since I don't think this character exactly lends itself to a gendered voice. Their voice is pretty open to interpretation, with the big notes I want hit being that they're extremely cowardly and wimpy, more eager to surrender and plead for mercy than fight. Cyber Dragon is the latest in a line of battle machines. This latest high tech beast has the capabilities to not only wreck havoc on its own, but in troops of three that can merge into various forms like Cyber Twin Dragon and Cyber End Dragon. In order to control Cyber Dragon, a remote pilot is used who will give Cyber Dragon commands from a safe location.

For the voice, since this is the person who's remotely piloting Cyber Dragon rather than Cyber Dragon itself, I'm leaving this one open to any gender as well. The voice isn't gendered, so anyone is welcome to try out. Cyber Dragon's pilot should be a classic anime mecha pilot. Their lines should be shouted as though they're keeping an entire team of scientists and mechanics abreast of their activities. They're passionate, intense, and eager to test their abilities in a fight. The protector of the Blackwing flock, Armor Master has taken the title for himself through several trials and has proven to be the most able bodied fighter of his bretheren. He's been their protector for so long that he's grown casual with his job, finding few threats that could threaten his friends and flock. When something does appear that tests him, he will immediately recognize the threat and fight with all his might to protect what he treasures.

Blackwing Armor Master voice wise occupies a very carefree role. He's fought back threats from across time and space, survived it all, and instead of letting that harden him into a grizzled warrior, it's instead turned him into a supremely confident defender. Unless a threat is overwhelming from the very start, Armor Master is unlikely to take it seriously. His voice should definetely show his age, while also still embodying that attitude of "You're not on my level." Ironically for his bird theming, Falco Lombardi from Star Fox would be a great base. From the depths of the netherworld is Infernity Archifend. The master of a variety of evil magics, Infernity Archfiend is always giddy to test out what sort of reaction normal people will have to hellfire infused magics. He's someone who finds a great level of amusement in tormenting others, both in benign ways like taunting them, and by subjecting them to the most intense hellfire imaginable.

Archfiend is a character I have a very specific parallel for in my mind. To me Christopher Guerrero's take on Gecko Moria from One Piece is exactly what I imagine Archfiend to sound like. His voice should be high pitched yet scratchy, constantly on the verge of a wicked laugh. He takes a great amount of pleasure in harming others, so the more wicked his voice and especailly laughter the better. Utopia is one of the hundred piece of an ancient being's fragmented soul. Of all those fragments it was Utopia that inherited his virtue and sense of right. As such he was drawn to the duelist who would one day reunite all those fragments. In his battles Utopia would face his greatest challenge in the Barian world, an alternate dimension with monsters that outpowered him hundreds of times over. Through sheer willpower and a bit of luck though, Utopia vanquished them all and saved two universes from annihiliation.  

Utopia is right next to Neos as an unambigiously heroic character who will put the needs of others before themselves every time. In contrast to Neos though, he's undergone even greater challenges and has no such flair for the theatric. As a king his demeanor would be far more serious and less outwardly jovial. A great base for his voice would be Optimus Prime from Transformers. He's someone who through their trials has proven they don't need to speak loud to be heard. The eternal foe to Utopia and guardian of the Barian dimension, Silent Honor DARK is the chaos evolution to its previous ruler. The Barian dimension has been under constant threat of extermination, which has led to many of its rulers becoming fierce conqurers in order to find a home for their people free of threats. DARK is the latest, and has been even more ruthless than those before him, launching a full scale invasion of earth before being beaten back.

DARK is a lot like Utopia where he has held his position for a long time, but instead of Utopia's quiet confidence and nobility, DARK has had to scrap and fight for so much that he's tired. He holds the philosophy that there's nothing he wouldn't do for his people, and will be as brutal as he needs to be. He should sound weathered and old, but just as firey and passionate about protecting his home as a young man. When the Supreme Dragon King Z-Arc reformed and began tearing apart dimensions, a magician from his home dimension was granted incredible powers to serve as his minion. Though their heart ended up not allying with good or evil which made them the perfect candidate to become an impartial judge of the dimensions. They now rest in the space between dimensions and observe them, looking for anyone who would dare try to disrupt the flow of dimensions again. And they really wish someone would try as it's gotten dreadfully boring.

Astrograph is a character who I think given their position as a cosmic level figure would transcend the concept of gender and therefore I decided to cast them as nonbinary. Now the Scottish part is because you can't transcend Scotland. Seriously though, Astrograph should still have a voice that sounds chronically disinterested in the goings on around them. The illustrious position they were gifted turned out to be little more than as a glorified hall monitor. Except the third line. There should be energy behind that. D/D Lamia is a low ranking demon in the order of the Dimension Demons, a guild of horrors that structured itself like a buisness. Lamia works under various demonic lords and is little more than a puppet to her bosses desires. In travelling to this new realm, Lamia is now considered lost goods and her various bosses are using her as a conduit to instruct anyone nearby on how to return their property.

Lamia is one of the most complex characters voice wise, as she doesn't speak herself, but rather she acts as a loud speaker for her bosses to speak through. Despite that, they still come out in her voice. That means that to voice Lamia you'll have to be willing to throw your voice in various directions, sometimes changing from sentence to sentence. Her bosses all have distinct voices, and it should be obvious without changes to the voice itself that different people are speaking. Changes in intonation, inflection and sentence pacing are the best for that sort of distinction. Decode Talker is the protector of Cyberspace, guarding the flow of information from malicious beasts that would see it corrupted or destroyed. His post requires his undivided attention to catch even the smallest discrepancy, turning him into a stoic guard with little time for anything other than his goals.

Decode Talker is a very simple character in many ways, including his voice. He should be low and authoritative. He's essentially an officer who oversees an entire plain of existence all at once and remains vigilant at all times. He rarely drops his guard and is hesitant to accept help from others as he believe that it's his job alone to protect cyberspace. The core of a disturbing zombie outbreak, Construct is the source of the Shaddoll Menace. Using tainted strings to puppeteer the dead bodies of fallen soldiers, Construct is a menace with no regard for life or death, including its own. It is little more than a husk being piloted itself by a sinister master that chooses to remain in the shadow and allow others to fight its battle for it.

Construct is an incredibly stoic character, unable to express emotions, instead delivering almost everything in the same monotone and creepy delivery. As a possessed doll, its voice should be unsettling, slow, and inhuman in how it lacks any inflection or intonation that would make it sound alive, almost like everything it says is prerecorded. Aluber is the Jester of the Despian army, an evil theater troop whos members travel through diamond portals that flood the land with mindless torture devices that slowly corrupt anyone comes into contact with them, turning them from humans into dragonic hybrids that border on lovecraftian. Aluber pulls the strings from behind the scenes, a master manipulator that loves to watch those beneath him squirm as they struggle to realize that everything they've planned for is falling apart.

Aluber is a sadistic madman, enjoying every second of his foes resistance as he breaks their wills before their bodies. He should be dripping with delight when talking about the pain of others, incredulous when challenged, and deliciously sarcastic when trying to appear like anything else. Aluber is part of an evil theater troop, so he should be appropriately hammy. His vocal range will also be extremely high and almost feminine, so feel free to explore the space with his voice. The undead ruler of the golden lands, Eldlich The Golden Lord is the age old ruler of El Dorado. The ancient Colombian city of gold is his realm to rule, and anyone who dares to trespass is assured a swift demise. If they're lucky they'll be finished then and there, but the unlucky ones are dipped in liquid gold and turned into zombies. Eldlich uses an alchemic ritual to keep himself alive eternally.

Eldlich in this hypothetical game is based on a very specific archetype of fighting games, the SNK boss. Examples of the sort of voice I want for him include Geese Howard from Fatal Fury and Rugal Bernstein from King of Fighters. He should have a deep and full voice that radiates authority, while still having the ability display pageantry. He should also be able to show weakness and anger as his stone slowly breaks down and he's brought closer and closer to the death he's avoided so long. The ace pilot of the Sky Strikers, an elite core of mech pilots for a highly advanced country, Raye bares the responsibility of defending everyone she's ever known. She starts her war as a bright eyed and eager fighter, who after tragedy upon tragedy is eventually warn down to a quiet and bitter husk. After reconnecting with a friend thought dead though and vanquishing the evils that have vexxed her all her life, she slowly starts to regain the ability to enjoy life.

Raye is a complicated character and her voice should reflect that. She has seen a lot of hardships in a very short space of time and is still trying to find her place in the world. She has difficulty expressing her emotions and struggles with positive reinforcement after years of fighting with the sole goal of surviving. She isn't emotionally barren though, she's not shut off from the world, she just needs someone to open the way. Dante has been delivered a tragedy. While out on crusade, the love of his life Beatrice was captured by demons and taken to the burning abyss, a realm of lava and torment that he may only free her from if he gathers his courage and descends into himself. Despite being just a poet, he goes in to fight regardless, in the hopes of getting his love back.

Dante is the least capable fighter out of the entire cast, having few combat capabilities and is outmatched very often. He is wary to fight because of it, but he possesses an unbreakable resolve. This should reflect in his voice, it should be quiet and reserved at neutral, but when talking about Beatrice or performing a special move, it should get a lot more impassioned.

Mithrilium is a member of the Metalfoes corp, a team of vehicle riding super soldiers who fight back chaos with overwhelming offense. High ranking members like Mithrilium though take it a step further and merge with their motorcycles to transform into mech suits. As the front lines of the offensive, Mithrilium is the most willing to take on an enemy, and could be considered hot headed to a fault.

Mithrilium is one of the rowdiest characters in the cast, used to solving problems in the most abrupt, and usually violent ways possible. She should have a very tomboy, gruffness to her voice that gives the impression she's just itching to get done with the talking and back to the fighting. She's also quick to anger and has little time for long winded speeches. 

The goblin of greed was once a powerful and wealthy monarch, ruling over a kingdom of poor peasant who paid what meager earnings they had to him. One day though he squandered all his money in the stock market and became penniless, scrounging for loose change, taking odd jobs, and trying to sell his only remaining possession, the pot of greed.

The goblin of greed is another character like Ojama Yellow where he's largely considered a joke. He's not capable of fighting very well, but wants to keep an air of authority and regality about him that he lost a long time ago. As soon as anyone pushes back against his bravado he immediately crumbles and turns yellow. His vocal range should be very much scheming and underhanded, like he's always whispering to himself about how he's gonna stab everyone in the back before failing to execute it. Babadi from Dragon Ball and Buggy from One Piece are good starting points for the voice I want.
