Trigun: An Anime Fan-Made Dub
Project Overview
WHAT IS THIS?
This is going to be a fanmade dub of the popular anime series, Trigun. We'll be doing our best to capture the feel and the energy of the series.
For those of you unfamiliar with the premise: In the 32nd century, a man known as "Vash the Stampede" has earned a bounty of $$60 billion on his head and the nickname "The Humanoid Typhoon" after accidentally destroying a city with his supernatural powers. However, whenever he is attacked, Vash displays a pacifist personality as noted by two Bernardelli Insurance Society employees, Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, who follow him around to minimize the damages inevitably caused by his appearance. Most of the damage attributed to Vash is actually caused by bounty hunters in pursuit of the sixty billion double-dollar bounty on Vash's head for the destruction of the city of July. However, he cannot remember the incident due to retrograde amnesia, being able to recall only fragments of the destroyed city and memories of his childhood. Throughout his travels, Vash tries to save lives using non-lethal force. He is occasionally joined by a priest, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who, like Vash, is a superb gunfighter with a mysterious past.

Vash the Stampede is the main protagonist. Vash is also known as The Humanoid Typhoon due to the destruction and chaos that often surrounds him. Wielding a huge nickel revolver, he travels from town to town to learn more and protect what his adoptive mother, Rem, treasured most: love and peace. He was initially discovered by Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, two Bernardelli Insurance Society representatives investigating claims made due to damages caused by the mysterious Humanoid Typhoon. The pair find Vash while he is being chased by bandits who want to collect the bounty on "The $$60,000,000,000 (sixty billion double dollar) Man". He escapes while Milly and Meryl eventually learn that Vash is the person they are assigned to track. Vash displays two very distinct personalities. Initially, Vash usually exaggerates foolish characteristics to make people feel un-threatened and to hide his identity, as well as using these outrageous actions and chronic kindness as a way to mask his pain. He exhibits an almost obsessive love of doughnuts, engages in lecherous behavior, plays games with the local children and aids, and befriends the adults, as well as making the occasional bizarre joke or quip. Vash's other side is an utterly tormented and lonely being and is rarely shown when he is in the company of others. Due to his long life and legendary reputation, Vash has lost both a great many friends and his only family. In several instances, people he trusted have either betrayed him or been killed for simply knowing him. For 20 years he was a hunted man and frequently had to hide his identity and fend off waves of persistent bounty hunters. Thus, he is often prone to brooding and depression while alone or engaging in deep reflective thought. Because Vash refuses to kill any of his opponents, he often suffers at the hands of several very unscrupulous enemies. As a result, his body is a patchwork of large scars, chunks of missing flesh supported by metal mesh, and stitch marks. Despite his hesitance to show his body, Vash never uses his power to remove them or repair his body, choosing to keep the scars as a reminder of the price he pays for his unlimited mercy.

This world is made of love and peace!
My name is VASH THE STAMPEDE!! Forgive the lack of warning, but it's time for my daily massacre! If you do not believe I am the real thing, take a good look at me and start freaking out!!
There's something that cannot be expressed in words: human emotion. Emotions of the heart can't be just tucked away in a closet. There's a way to know the emotions: look into the eyes. The gentleman lied to me when I trusted him, but the moment I looked into his eyes the angel of destiny began to unravel the truth. Just look into their eyes, there is only one truth.
Meryl Stryfe is an agent of the Bernardelli Insurance Society sent to evaluate claims regarding Vash The Stampede. Meryl is a very independent, short-tempered, courageous, respectable, hardworking, and professional girl. She does show shades of jealousy at times, though. despite this, she is a good-hearted person. despite her smallness and her fragility, she has been taught that a bullet can eliminate the difference in power between 2 people, consequently, she can withstand an average fight, but she fights only if it is essential. she goes from not putting up with Vash, who she thought was a false Vash because of her carefree and childish character that didn't get along with Meryl's order and seriousness, to loving him deeply.

Vash the Stampede... every time I observe his actions I can't help but sense something hidden deep within him, something we can't begin to understand. But this much is certain: everyone who has become involved with him has somehow regained an emotion which was once lost.
All of life's journeys come with meetings, partings, and reunions.
Does this man look like the legendary gunman Vash the Stampede? That droopy-eyed, weak-looking, bristle-headed, promiscuous-looking donut freak of a man?
Milly Thompson is a Bernardelli insurance agent, friend, and assistant to Meryl Stryfe. Milly has a kind heart as well as a strength of character and genuine optimism. Kindness comes to her naturally and she does her best to give it to others, often going out of her way to offer help to those who need it. She is a bit of a crybaby as well and is easily upset over trivial things such as pudding.

Never hold back in matters of the heart.
Every journey begins with a single step, we just have to have patience.
For now, I guess you can call me Stungun Milly.
Nicholas D. Wolfwood, also known as Nicolas the Punisher, is a member of the Eye of Michael, an organization of assassins. Wolfwood was raised by an abusive guardian, whom he later shoots and kills. He was taken in by Chapel, who trained him to be his successor. He meets Vash while he is stranded in the desert and the two join forces. Wolfwood's purpose is to raise money for the children in the orphanage he runs, trying to keep other children from suffering as he did in his childhood. Noted several times for forsaking his vow of "Thou Shall Not Kill" by Vash. He's also known to be lecherous as well as a womanizer following more of a hedonistic or pleasurable style, while still following some religious beliefs. It's noted that while Milly gets on his nerves from time to time, he does genuinely care for her and the sentiment is reciprocated.

I picked up my first gun at the age of seven. And I shot. I remember how strangely easy it was to pull the trigger. Ha. I actually laughed. Because that one shot was all that was needed to silence that sickening piece of garbage who had the nerve to call himself my guardian. Ha. It was that simple. And so I was free. Yes, tomorrow would be different. Hm. Tomorrow. As much as I wanted to believe, it only went from bad to worse. A vicious cycle... I didn't want other kids to grow up like me, so I started my own orphanage. It was gratifying work, I was actually doing something for the good of others. It was my place of peace and happiness... yet sometimes, I still think to myself "there's no place worse than this planet. It's horrible here.
We're nothing like God. Not only do we have limited powers, but sometimes we're driven to become the devil himself.
Come again, Needle Noggin?
Millions Knives is the older twin brother of Vash the Stampede. As a plant, he was artificially created and raised on a ship of settlers. Knives attempted to destroy the ship fleet so that humans would not colonize the new home planet. He was unsuccessful in persuading Vash to join his side. Knives is portrayed as a psychopathic, cruel, and sadistic character, even to his allies, the Gung-Ho-Guns. Even though Knives despises humans, he still has a caring relationship for Vash and wants him to join in on his quest to eliminate humanity for what they have done to the Plants.

If you keep saving butterflies, spiders will starve to death! But... wanting to save them both is a contradiction. What would you rather do? Keep deliberating? The butterfly will be eaten in the meantime.
After 15 years, are you still holding on to that ridiculous nonsense? That fantasy world created for you by a woman who lived and died by contradiction?
Make Vash suffer. Make him suffer for all eternity.
Legato Bluesummers is a man who devoted himself to Knives. His main goal is to have Vash experience eternal pain and suffering. He serves directly under Knives, which also gives him command over the Gung-Ho-Guns, especially while Knives is injured. He is the only one of the Gung-Ho-Guns without a number, which means he's far less disposable to Knives than the rest of them.

And to think, I could kill every man, woman, and child here in the blink of an eye if I wanted to. The power of death is intoxicating.
It must be the way you look, Vash the Stampede. Your very existence seems to cause me undue irritation.
It's a simple formula. The greater the tragedy, the greater the emotional effect.
Rem Saverem is a Project SEEDS crew member and the primary guardian and caretaker to Vash and Knives. She's characterized by her loving and nurturing personality. Additionally, her pacifistic philosophy shapes Vash so greatly that he continues to live by her teachings long after her untimely death. Rem is noted for her compassion and benevolence. She deeply cares for Vash and Knives, going as far as to sacrifice herself to save them. She is also a pacifist who does not like violence and tries to teach the two boys the value of life and the virtues of non-violence.
