The Walking Dead Comic Dub Series
Project Overview
The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic comic book series created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore – who was the artist on the first six issues and cover artist for the first twenty-four – with art on the remainder of the series by Charlie Adlard.
I am looking for talented voice actors who can bring these characters to life. Hopefully, my direction will help. I am not looking for impressions of the characters in the TV show. I'm looking for people who discover the right voice for the character(s) they have. People who can give their own spin that feels right for the character.
You audition for the character you think you can do well in. If you are given the role, you'll be given the characters FANDOM Wiki page and an overview of the character to help you get to know the character (The overview will also be there in the characters audition spot down below). You will also be given the issues your character is in (They'll all be in PDF's). Make sure to read the entire issue your character is in or read the specific scenes your character is in so you can understand the situation the characters are in and to know what lines your character has.
We want dedicated voice actors that will stick with the project! It's a long series (193 Issues) and if you are given a big role, we expect you to stick with the role.
When recording your lines do multiple different takes so I can have a pick at which is the best while I'm editing (3 good takes).
Mic quality has to be decent (No background noises, no muffled audio, no movement of the mic while recording, no white noise, etc.)
It is a NON-PAID project. However, like many free projects, I will make sure to share your social media pages and give you exposure to other projects. You will also get experience.
When you receive the character FANDOM Wiki page, the issues your characters are in for each Volume, a deadline for each Volume, and the overview of the character(s) you have: You can get started on the lines.
You will be credited at the end of each issue you're in, links to whatever social media you want to show off will be in the description and I will give you a recommendation for your work on Casting Call Club! I will also have you in mind if I'm working on any other projects if you are interested. However, for now, we're just working on TWD Series.
Make sure you have Discord and an email so you can contact you and send you your stuff. If you have Discord you can join the server I have with the other VA's :)
Having fun is the main goal here! Thank you for reading and hopefully, you'll be interested!

Who is Carol?
Carol is a character first encountered in Issue 3 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead. She is the mother of Sophia Grimes and a member of the Atlanta survivors group. She befriends Lori and stays by her side most of the time. Soon after meeting him, Carol enters into a relationship with Tyreese, before breaking up with him due to Tyreese cheating on her with Michonne. At this point, her mental health begins to deteriorate, which eventually results in her suicide.
A relatively calm and collected individual at first, Carol's friendly and normal attitude served as a façade to hide some of her underlying mental instabilities, which would later reveal themselves and eventually lead to her untimely death.
One major theme throughout Carol's time in the comics is her need for companionship among the daily chaos, due to the fact that she is a weak and dependent person. The people around her kept her balanced and helped the woman maintain the image of a sane individual. However, once she no longer received this support from them, she gradually began to slip and lose the control that she initially had over herself. The boundaries between rationality and irrationality became blurred to her, as she fully believed that she and the Grimes could be a family together.

"Sophia's father was the breadwinner. I sold some Tupperware out of catalogues from time to time but it was really just to friends and neighbors. I wouldn't have considered it a job. My husband was a car salesman. They used to say he could talk anyone into anything... He talked me into marrying him... Talked me into staying with him after... ... He watched his parents die right after everything started to happen. He couldn't deal with it... He just sort of gave up on life... He... y'know. After he was... gone Sophia and I came here to stay with my sister... We figured it'd be worth the drive to say with someone we know... We never got into the city... thankfully." -Carol (Timid/Remembering the past) talking to the group about her life and family before the apocalypse.
“He did WHAT?!!! He did it himself?! He just cut off Allen’s foot?!! He just cut it off?!!! How?!!!!” -Carol (Raising her voice/Horrified and Confused) after hearing that her friend Rick cut off her other friend Allen’s leg off.
"You're probably not going to like it here, y'know. They're nice enough people, at first they're great... but they're so goddamn judgmental. One slip-up... and that's it for you really. I tried to kill myself. I did. It didn't work, obviously, but I tried. They won't let me forget it. Since then, I can see it in their eyes--they've lost all respect for me. All of them. Even my best friend. She tries to be nice but I can tell she's just patronizing me. She hasn't wanted to talk to me since I did it. She just feels like she has to. Everyone thinks I'm crazy. (Sighs to herself) I don't really have anyone to talk to, so I figured I'd introduce myself. I'm Carol. I think I'll just talk to you from now on. You listen, you don't seem to judge me. That's really important in a friendship, y'know. Not judging people. I really hope you like me.” -Carol (Afraid but frustrated at her situation) talking to a chained up zombie while accepting the end of her life.
Who is Sgt. Abraham Ford?
Abraham is a brave, pragmatic and short tempered man who thrives in the heat of combat. He greatly enjoys a good fight. On the exterior, he appears to be a violent, cold and detached man, but beneath that facade he is very sensitive and suffers extreme guilt for previous murders and killings. He is desperate for emotional support, which he initially gets from Rosita and later from Holly.
Though initially hostile to the Survivors, believing them too inexperienced with the apocalypse, and a hindrance in his mission of delivering Eugene to Washington, D.C., he grew to accept them, and become the group's main enforcer, replacing the hole left by Tyreese's death. He also formed a close bond with Rick, relating to his experiences of family loss in the apocalypse, even after the two clashed for leadership in their first meetings together.
After Eugene revealed himself as a liar, telling the group that he is not actually a scientist, and has no clue what caused the apocalypse, Abraham loses confidence in himself. This causes him to step-down from his joint leadership role with Rick, believing Rick to be a more capable leader, and he settles as Rick's second in command, helping Rick make any important decisions, but, not involving himself too much in group matters.
It is also revealed that Abraham never loved one of his traveling companions, Rosita, despite telling her so, and was only with her for her comfort seeing as she was the only woman around. He decides to cheat on her by sleeping with an Alexandria Safe-Zone resident, Holly, after saving her life. He tells Rosita that he only formed a romantic relationship with her because he did not want to be lonely, and that she felt like the last woman on Earth to him, in a way doing it out of pity for her. However, in his dying moments, Abraham tells Eugene that he wants him to look after Rosita, saying he just wants her to be happy like he was with Holly, never wishing to hurt her despite seemingly wanting to before his final moments.

Who is Aaron?
He is one of the original residents of Alexandria Safe-Zone, formally working as a recruiter. He worked with Eric, who was his work partner and boyfriend. Aaron was responsible for bringing Rick and the Survivors into Alexandria and developed a close bond with the group, making Aaron one of Rick's most trusted allies. Following the Whisperer War, Aaron became Paul Monroe's boyfriend and they moved together to the Hilltop Colony. Several years after Rick's death, Aaron and Paul moved to live by a riverbank.
Not much is known about Aaron's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that he may have been in a relationship with Eric before the outbreak occurred. It is also possible that Aaron lived in or near Alexandria before the outbreak. It is also known that he graduated from an unspecified college shortly before the outbreak began. Around the same time, he met and began dating a man who was interested in basketball; what became of him during or after the outbreak is unknown.
Aaron was among one of the original survivors in the Alexandria Safe-Zone along with his boyfriend, Eric. The leader of Alexandria, Douglas Monroe, found Aaron to be one of his most trusted allies. Aaron's duty in the safe-zone was to recruit outsider survivors for Alexandria with Eric protecting him. Aaron and Eric would search for new survivors and they would observe their behavior and determine if they were safe enough to be a part of the community. Aaron would then approach the survivors unarmed while Eric stood by, ready to defend Aaron. Those who accepted Aaron's offer would travel with him and Eric to Alexandria and meet Douglas, who would ultimately decide if they could stay in Alexandria.
While out recruiting, Aaron and Eric found a large group of survivors led by Rick Grimes as they were traveling from Georgia to Washington and decided to approach them. Surprised and afraid of an attack, Rick punched Aaron, knocking him out. The group ties Aaron up and interrogates him after regaining consciousness. Aaron reveals to Rick and his group an invitation to "audition for membership" into the safe-zone. Rick was suspicious of Aaron's calm and friendly behavior, reminding him of his encounter with the Governor. However, Michonne supports Aaron's claims, believing he is nothing like the Governor. During this, a herd roams into the area. Glenn unties Aaron and gives him a gun - allowing Aaron to help defend the group. Aaron offers back the gun and to be tied back up. This action helps Rick decide to follow Aaron back to Alexandria.
On their way to the city, the group spots Eric on his four-runner. With the group becoming alarmed, Aaron reveals Eric to be his work partner. Enraged now learning that they were being spied on and that there were others out there with them, Rick demands to know how many more are out with them. Aaron claims it's just Eric. After Aaron and Eric share a quick embrace, the group spots a flare coming from the city. Aaron reveals that its one of their own and they're in trouble. Entering the city, Aaron finds Alexandria's supply runners, Heath and Scott surrounded by roamers, with Scott having a broken leg. The group rescues them and they all arrive at the gates of Alexandria. After entering, Aaron asks Rick to speak with Douglas Monroe and have an interview about staying in Alexandria.
Following the acceptance of the Survivors, Douglas Monroe throws a welcoming party for the Survivors. Aaron and Eric attend the party, gaining the attention of some of the gossiping women of Alexandria - claiming Aaron and Eric are having a three-way with Douglas Monroe's handsome son, Spencer. After the party, Aaron and Eric returned outside the safe-zone for another recruiting mission. This time, Aaron and Eric took two of Maggie Greene's horses.

“The boss, whoever is calling the shots. I’d really like to speak with them. My name is Aaron. I’m not here to fight. I don’t have any weapons. Seriously, just want to talk, cool?” Aaron (Confident/Friendly) arms raised up, asking to speak to Rick Grimes. Leader of the group Aaron has been watching for weeks to possibly bring them to his community)
“Rick, look– I know you’re just trying to keep us safe. And for what it’s worth, you’re good at that… But you decked me when I invited your people to come here. It’s kind of your thing. Look, my point is… (Sighs to himself) “My offer turned out to be legit. You were wrong to doubt me. I just worry– You push back to hard, and this guy’s offer is legit too… Or worse… Make them enemies, turn them into what you’re scared they already are.” -Aaron (Giving Advice/Hoping) talking to Rick about a stranger's offer to meet up with another group and become allies. Rick is cautious.
“NO!!! Oh God, no!! God please, Eric!! *Crying* No... You lead the way! These bastards are fucked!!!” Aaron (Screaming and crying. Slowly goes from crying in despair to utter anger and determination to kill) after seeing his lover, Eric, shot in the head in the middle of a battle)
Who is Clementine?
Clementine (born 26th Oct, 1994) is the overall main protagonist of the Walking Dead video game series. She is the deuteragonist of the first season, the playable main protagonist of the second season, a major character and minorly playable in the third season, and the playable protagonist again in the fourth season.
In the first game, Clementine was an eight-year-old little girl of Asian/African-American descent, living with her parents in a suburb in Atlanta. While her parents were away, she was forced to join a group of survivors in an effort to find safety in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.
Through the plot, Clementine develops a strong bond with the player-protagonist Lee Everett, a former fugitive who becomes her new guardian. Being one of the first elements created for the game, Clementine was designed to act as a moral compass for the player in addition to an influence on the player's decisions, to which the player would have to reflect upon.
Clementine was considered an emotional centerpiece of the The Walking Dead game, and several journalists expressed caring for her fate in a way that few other games have been able to capture.
Clementine starts out as a very innocent and kind little girl who is also very smart for her age.
As the game series progresses she begins to grow stronger and she becomes more understanding of the tough world she is in though does keep her child like innocence. Clementine can be playful and has shown that she is still just a little girl like when she pulled pranks on Duck. By the second season she grows far more hardened by the hardships she has gone through. Though still fairly innocent she is far less naive and due to being on her own can be more assertive to protect herself. Since in season 2 she is controlled by the player different nuances of her personality are up to choice.

“What you doin’ there, Goofball?” -Clementine (Chuckling/Friendly) to Alvin Junior when she’s sees him walking around the yard.
“All those close calls… Getting you here, somewhere safe, it’s all I’ve wanted. And now with the coalition having two other settlements around to help… You can have a real life here, with good people. The school isn’t a hideout anymore, it’s…” -Clementine (Trying to hold back tears) to Alvin Junior about her choice on leaving and for Alvin to stay behind.
“I am still. NOT. BITTEN! I never was. And you left me out here to die!” -Clementine (Frustrated/Out of Breath/Standing her ground) angry at Carlos’ group after killing a zombie inside a locked shed.
Who is Alvin Junior?
Alvin Jr., nicknamed A.J., Alvie, or Goofball, is the deuteragonist of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series. He first appears in Season Two, returns in A New Frontier in flashbacks, and later appears as the deuteragonist and a playable character of The Final Season. He is the son of Rebecca and possibly, Alvin or Carver. In the third season, Alvin Jr. only appears in flashbacks with Clementine, showing the story of how they became separated.
Much later into the apocalypse, AJ is a young child with a somewhat adult sense of mind for the world's state. He is eager to prove himself capable of survival, despite still learning practical skills. He looks up to Clementine in order to learn about the world as it comes.
Having been born into this world, AJ seems to be wired to always be on his guard. When entering new places, AJ checks his surroundings, wants to make sure there is always a way out, and wants to be the safest he can possibly be. Sometimes AJ is more on guard than Clementine as he expresses things about the safe zone he perceives as dangerous. This also causes a blurred line between Survival and Living for him, such as when he calls Louis out for being too loud with his piano, or planning to sleep under the bed in case anybody would try to attack him and Clementine. This is likely due to a lack of social skills and experience in a safe zone, as he has spent the vast majority of his life on the road, where danger is everywhere.
He is also shown to be unaware of the value of personal property, as he tried to claim both Tennessee's toys, and read Aasim's journal without permission. This could be childlike naivety, as apposed to a behavioral trait.
Despite his generally cheerful and considerate personality, AJ's behavior seems to shift to a ruthless aggression, sometimes at random moments. It's because of this that, throughout the game, Clementine shows concern multiple times for AJ's wellbeing. She also feels pity that he never knew the world before the apocalypse. AJ's moral compass is called into question by many characters of the series, as he expresses little to no compassion over having to murder threats.
However, in his own words, he does not enjoy killing people; he merely enjoys the safety that comes from out of it. He strongly believes that anybody that tries to harm him or the people he cares about deserve to die, and is unwaveringly loyal and protective, only ever considering murder when the people that he loves are in danger.

“I found your hat. It was in the creek down by the shack. I thought I wouldn’t get it, but Rosie jumped right in and got it out of the water. It’s all wet now.” -Alvin Junior (Excited/A bit bummed that the hat got wet) giving Clementine her hat after finding it.

"Since I can remember... Clem's always been there with me. She taught me to be careful. To be quiet. To be strong. To save the last bullet for myself. To kill people that try and hurt us. To make the bad people suffer. I always listened to Clem. Always. But... I've been thinking more. I don't know if she's right every time. She told me to shoot her if she got bit. That doesn't feel right. We're doing a lot of bad things. To save our friends. To protect our home. And when Clem told me to shoot Lilly... I got mad. So mad. I don't... Is never go alone." -Alvin Junior (Determined/Reflecting back/Appreciating Clementine despite her flaws) talking about his feelings towards living in this new world.
Who is Lori Grimes?
Lori Grimes (née unknown) is the former tritagonist first encountered in Issue 2 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead. She was the tritagonist from Volume 1 to Volume 8. She is the wife of Rick and mother of Carl and Judith Grimes, and part of the camp located outside of Atlanta. At the start of the outbreak, Lori and Carl traveled to Atlanta with Shane Walsh hoping for a safe haven, only to find it in turmoil.
They joined a group of survivors outside the city hoping the city would be cleared of the undead in the near future and that the military would rescue them. She was reunited with her husband and soon became pregnant with Shane's daughter Judith because of the affair they had while Rick was in a coma.
Prior to the apocalypse, Lori was married to Rick, and the two shared a relatively happy union. When Lori found out Atlanta was overrun, she was wrecked with guilt about abandoning Rick in Cynthiana and grew increasingly depressed. In a moment of weakness, she shared one passionate night with Rick's partner, Shane, which she would come to deeply regret once she was reunited with Rick. After their reunion, Lori becomes staunchly loyal to her husband and fiercely protective of Carl. A few months into her pregnancy, Lori becomes somewhat prone to emotional outbursts, which occasionally cause tensions between her and her husband.
Being rather ineffectual as a combatant, Lori is often kept out of dangerous situations with the children and is usually delegated to doing day-to-day chores in the group, a role she is quite comfortable with. Lori has displayed overall emotional stability, and will often, though not always, act as the voice of reason in the group. She is often frustrated with Rick's willingness to risk his life and leave the safety of the prison, fearing that she might lose him again. Lori often objects to some of Rick's more radical decisions, such as letting Carl carry a gun or executing Thomas. This causes friction between the two, but the couple is always able to reconcile. Over time, Lori learns to trust Rick's decisions more and understands their necessity. Ironically, Rick would try to implement some of Lori's philosophy long after his wife's death. Notably, when Rick decided to spare Negan, he cited his belief that they can do things better in the new world as his main reason for doing so, which was the reason Lori wanted to exile Thomas instead of executing him.

“Alright… But I warned you. Rick’s brother, Jeff, is my age. I’m two years younger than Rick. I met his brother senior year of high school. (Chuckles out of slight embarrassment) It’s nothing like that… We were friends. Jeff invited me to a new year’s party. Apparently Rick had been made chaperone by their parents, who were attending a party elsewhere. I met Rick there. He was going to college for police administration… Everything about him was interesting.” -Lori (Slightly embarrassed but feeling warmth by her happy memory) telling her friends about how she met her husband, Rick.
“That’s what I’ve been thinking about. This new baby will never know what the world was like, hell… Carl won’t really remember much of it himself before too long. He’ll never know what it’s like to get his driver’s license, or go see a movie with a girl. Rick, do you think we’ll ever be able to fix everything?” -Lori (Dwelling in her thoughts/Unsure about the future) quietly talking to Rick while their son is asleep.
"So that’s how things are?!! You say what we’re going to do and we do it? You’re the king now?! We’ve got a chance to change things, Rick. We’ve got a chance to break the cycle. No killing means no killing! If we kill him–we’re no better than he is!!! Letting him loose out there on his own is almost a worse punishment–at least we wouldn’t have any blood on our hands!! Or we could just lock him up here!!!" -Lori (Outraged/Afraid but fueled with anger) yelling at her husband Rick for suggesting to kill a man who is a threat to the group.
Who is Sophia?
Sophia Grimes is a main character first encountered in Issue 2 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead, as well as the deuteragonist of the final issue. She is the daughter of Carol and the only surviving member of her family. After her mother's death, Sophia was adopted by Glenn and Maggie.
Sophia is first shown to be a very sweet and shy young girl who relies on her mother at the start of the outbreak. After her mother, Carol, dies, she decides to forget about her completely, and acts like Glenn and Maggie were always her real parents. A lot of the group members had thought she was mentally unstable, but really she was just blocking her mothers memory out so she wouldn't be sad. After the events of All Out War, Sophia had matured greatly, and had become much more independent. She is shown to still care for others, but it can be seen that she wants people to know that she isn't just a little girl.
Sophia's biggest weakness however, would be not being loved. Sophia confesses to Maggie that she feels like Maggie might abandon her because she had moved on from Glenn, and she also confesses to Carl that she's sick of being alone and is looking for a relationship. This shows that Sophia holds on to the ones she loves, and cares for them deeply, but can't deal with losing them.

"I know you weren't my real parents. But you felt like my parents, and I thought you loved Glenn. If you don't love him anymore... What does that mean? Were you ever really in love. Did you ever really love me? And even if you did.. Will you stop like you stopped loving him?" -Sophia (Aged 13/Confused/Angry/In Tears) yelling at her mother, Maggie, for kissing another man years after her husband Glenn had died.
"I know. I know. I haven't been scared , really scared in... I can't even remember. Do you think there was ever a time when people appreciated what they have more than they do now? [...] I love you, Carl Grimes." -Sophia (Aged 38/Reminiscing/Hopeful) talking to her husband Carl.
Who is Jessie Anderson?
Jessie Anderson (née unknown) is a character first encountered in Issue 72 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead. She is a resident of the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Jessie is the mother of Ron Anderson and the abused wife of Peter Anderson. Following her husband's execution, she starts up a short-lived relationship with Rick Grimes.
Little is known about Jessie's life before or as the outbreak began, except that she was married to Pete Anderson and had a son named Ron Anderson. She likely lived in or near Alexandria before the outbreak started.
Jessie is first seen at the dinner party along with Pete and Ron. She is quiet and seems to be depressed over something, but doesn't let anyone on to the true nature of her husband.
Jessie is hesitant to talk to anybody about her marital troubles until Rick Grimes confronts her in private and she admits that Pete has been physically abusive, but still stands by him. After a series of events that begins with Rick confronting Pete, and ultimately ends with Pete being executed, Jessie grieves but also admits to being relieved at Pete's death. Afterward, Jessie expresses gratitude to Rick and later becomes more interested in him, eventually leading to Jessie wanting to make romantic advances on him, which is in turn returned by Rick.
Jessie is seen hiding in Issue 81 to Issue 83 in Rick's house along with Rick himself, Ron, Rick's son Carl, Michonne, Morgan Jones, Denise, Maggie Greene, and Sophia. Rick decides they have to cover themselves with zombie guts in order to hide their scent from the zombie herd. They eventually leave the safety of the house, running through the undead ranks outside undetected.

“Why do you do it? Help people... you could have just left Pete and I alone, but you stuck your nose in... you didn't have to do it, and it wasn't easy, but you did it anyway.” -Jessie (Curious and grateful but slightly nervous) asking Rick why he helped her and her son.
“Pete!!! Rick!!! Both of you stop it!!! Please!!!” -Jessie (Shouting/Terrified/On the verge of tears) trying to stop a brutal fight between her abusive husband and the constable Rick Grimes.

Who is Theresa?
Theresa is a character and an antagonist first encountered in Issue 63 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead. She is a member of the Hunters.
Not much is known about Theresa's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that she possibly had children.
Theresa was one of six cannibalistic survivors who stalked and preyed upon other living humans, namely the weak or solitary, for sustenance. Not much of her personality was revealed, only that she, like the others, listened to and obeyed the group's leader, Chris.
Like her peers, Theresa had initially become a cannibal due to the circumstances of the new world and the scarcity of food; however, the extent of how much she agreed with her group's actions is unknown. Chris had revealed to Rick that they had eaten their own children to survive, and it is unknown if Theresa had any children that was part of the re-telling.In the end, Theresa and the other Hunters were mutilated and beaten to death by Rick and the others to avenge what they had done to Dale and all of their previous victims. Then, her body was burned, along with the rest of her group.
