Emergence - Short Film
Project Overview
Emergence is Studio Penrose’s first film as a newly-formed studio. The production will be approximately 2 months in the making at the time of its release, utilizing over a dozen body actors and production team members, and filmed in Virtual Reality using motion capture technology.
This 10 minute film follows Lucina Mai after the sudden death of her parents drives her to move to the bustling city of New Millenia, where she meets with an online friend to discuss a tempting job offer.
Roles
There are currently 3 paid roles open for the film, with one role being for a main character and the others being for supporting characters. Please look at the roles for details on each character.
Notes
These roles will require being in a Discord call with the director and assistants. This will make it much more efficient to finish the lines, and with the best performance!

Kane Andro is a main character in the film. He is a manipulative recruiter for a semi-secret government organization, and interacts with the main character, Lucina, as a friendly face. However, he kicks into recruiter-mode as he tries to pull her into his organization. He is charismatic, caring, and friendly. Overall slightly deeper toned.

“For the past few months, we’d been looking for the guy for different reasons…” [Kane pauses and thinks] “Why don’t you and I… work together to find him?”
“You’re smart, Lucina. I know you’ll pass.”
Lucina's Father is a supporting character in the film. He is the father of the main character, Lucina, and attempts to talk to her in an effort to give fatherly advice. He is soft and warm in tone. Fatherly.
The role will require the ability to shout.

Lucina's Mother is a supporting character in the film. She is the mother of the main character, Lucina, and attempts to talk to her in an effort to give motherly advice. She is soft and proud in tone, as she attempts to speak highly of Lucina. Motherly.
The role will require the ability to mildly scream.
