The Little prince- a fan made audio book with pictures!
Project Overview
Hello! thank you so much for checking out my project!
I assume that by clicking this, you recognized the name 'The Little Prince" and are a fan of the story, whether that be a book adaptation, a film adaptation, a play adaptation, a book series, an animated series, or whatever it is that you saw.
While looking for audio recordings of the book, I cold only find ones where the speaker would play all the roles and thought: "Wouldn't it be fun to make one of my own? Maybe with different voice actors?" And so, here I am!
The simple tale tells the story of a child, the little prince, who travels the universe gaining wisdom.
The deadline is temporary! so feel free to audition, even if you think it's too late!
I do apologize if a project already exists, as of writing this, I am not aware of another Little Prince project here on CCC.
To the voice actors: Whatever you use to record is fine, as long as there is little to no background noise as possible and decent quality.
To the artists: I am not looking for a particular skill level, but I do prefer if I can tell your submissions had some sort of work put into them.
I shall:
*Read out the chapters "Chapitre un. Chapter one"
*play 'The Three Petaled Flower'
*be a part of 'The Roses in the Garden'.
Here is an online version of the book i particularly liked:

Howdy again everybody, as you all may already know, the deadline has been pushed back once again, I will continue to do this until at least one audition for each role has been made. However, that is not the reason I will put this on hiatus. Currently, school is hectic: essays, projects replacing finals, health problems, and field trips galore! I know it’s been a long time since you’ve heard from me, but I do ask you to hold on just a little longer! Luckily for me, Catholic school has Easter break coming up real soon, and I’ll for sure update you guys on lines and the bunch. If anybody has any questions, just ask! I’ll reply ASAP.

A big thank you, choosing roles, and making a new deadline for roles that haven’t been filled.
Hello everybody, I hope everyone has had a great day so far. I wanted to first of all thank everyone who has auditioned, I honestly didn’t think people would even be interested! Thanks so much for sticking around! I will begin choosing people for roles that have been auditioned for sir the longest time, so be in the lookout for those! I will also, once again, make a new deadline to hopefully fill in the rest of the cast. Thanks again, Elvira Garza -
deadline is pushed back.
Hello everyone! Happy Valentine’s Day! Thank you all for taking an interest in my project! I’m so happy you have all decided to audition. Unfortunately not every role has been auditioned for and I want for people to have time and don’t rush, so I’ll push back the deadline! Thanks for your patience, talent, and support!
Although I will try to do as much editing as possible, I would still like someone I could send it to and give it a second look/opinion and maybe clean up a small bit.
nothing fancy, just putting the audio with the visuals together.
Say something you think would fit
I do not mind if you like to do traditional, just as long as you scan the finished product and send it to me so it can be put in the video.
Say something you think would fit
Although I'm sure royalty free music will serve just fine, if anyone would like to create small spinets of background music, it would be very much appreciated.
nothing fancy, but something that is distinct. (space scenes should should different that earth scenes)
Say something you think would fit
The Narrator will have the most lines, and will be a separate role from The Aviator.
Although he is discouraged from drawing early in his life because adults cannot understand his drawings, the narrator illustrates his own story and makes several drawings for the little prince. The narrator is a grown-up, but his view of the world is more like a child’s than an adult’s.
"Let me tell you a story..."
"Grown-ups!" (scoff) "They don't understand anything by themselves!"
"And then... I heard a small voice!"
The Aviator's lines will only be things that are spoken by the character
A lonely pilot who, while stranded in the desert, befriends the little prince. They spend eight days together in the desert before the little prince returns to his home planet.
(sigh) (defeated) "So, this is how I die. Alone in the Sahara desert."
(astonished, confused) "What? How did you-? When did you-? Where did you-?"
(concerned) "Were you so sad, then? That day you watched forty-four sunsets?"
The Little Prince's lines will only be the spoken lines from the character
Frequently perplexed by the behavior of grown-ups, the prince symbolizes the hope, love, innocence, and insight of childhood that lie dormant in all of us.
"If you please, draw me a sheep..."
(amazed) "You're so beautiful!"
"Grown-ups are so very strange and peculiar..."
The Rose's lines will only be ones that were spoken by the character.
The Rose is very vain and flirty, she has trouble expressing her love for the Little Prince. Throughout the story, she occupies the prince’s thoughts and heart.
(yawn) "Oh my... what a nice little nap I took!"
(chuckles) "I am beautiful, aren't I?"
(sad) "... Goodbye... Goodbye Little Prince..."
The king, while not unkindly, the king’s power is empty. He is able to command people to do only what they already would do.
(AHEM! AHEM!) I am the king of everything that the universe holds!"
(stammering through) "Uh, well, that would be, it will be, well..."
(proud) "When the conditions are favorable!"
The vain man is lonely and craves admiration from all who pass by.
(gasp) "Oh! an admirer!"
(hum, hmm, ha ha, as if showing off your expensive clothes )
"Well, would you admire me the same?"
The drunkard, who spends his days and nights lost in a stupor, has the least lines, a shame really.
(laugh, sob, snore, or mutter under your breath. y'know, like a stereotypical drunkard.)
(chug down a drink! )
(slurred) "My life is a mess! I drink to forget only to remember either way! I only bring shame to myself!!"
The businessman owns all the stars, yet he cannot remember what they are called and contributes nothing to them. He is a caricature of most grown-ups.
"Twelve and three make fifteen. Good morning. Fifteen and seven make twenty−two."
"Five-hundred-and-one million—I can’t stop… I have so much to do! I am concerned with matters of consequence!"
""Millions of those little objects, which one sometimes sees in the sky."
His selfless devotion to his orders earns him the little prince’s admiration. Of all the adults the little prince encounters before reaching Earth, the lamplighter is the only one the prince thinks he could befriend.
"Those are the orders. Good morning."
"The orders are that I put out my lamp. Good evening."
"From year to year the planet has turned more rapidly and the orders have not been changed!"
He recommends that the little prince visit Earth, and his comments on the ephemeral nature of flowers reveal to the prince that his own flower will not last forever.
"Oh, look! Here is an explorer!"
"I haven't a single explorer on my planet. It is not the geographer who goes out to count the towns, the rivers, the mountains, the seas, the oceans, and the deserts."
"A real profession, you say? Why, thank you!"
The snake is not said to have a specific gender, so anyone can audition for this role!
"What are you doing, little boy?"
"I can help you return to your planet if you wish."
"It is also lonely among men..."
The sight of the rose garden first leads the prince to believe that his flower is not, in fact, unique
(chatter about anything! gossip!)
"Why, good morning little boy!"
"We are the roses!"
he fox sums up three important lessons: only the heart can see correctly; the prince’s time away from his planet has made him appreciate his rose more; and love entails responsibility.
"Where are the other hunters?"
"Do you have chickens in your planet?"
"I think I might cry..."
He has more perspective on life than the unhappy, thoughtless passengers his trains ferry.
"No one is ever satisfied where he is"
He symbolizes the modern world’s misplaced emphasis on saving time and taking shortcuts.
"Computations have been made by experts. With these pills, you save fifty−three minutes in every week."
