Coal - Male/Minor Protagonist
Coal (Coh-ole) is a young man who once upon a time was a savage outlaw, where he, alongside his brother Apollode and sister Amber, were a part of Obsidney's crew, where they robbed, pillaged, and killed whatever and whoever he asked of them without much question. Coal specifically took a passion in the job and did it with a smile. He's a man with an upside down moral compass, generally, who doesn't care who suffers as long as he gets a benefit. Nowadays, with his life of crime behind him and Obsidney being either arrested or flat out dead, Coal now keeps under the radar and lives a life of a farmer and rancher. He claims he only partakes in the hobby as to lay low and keep under the radar, and according to him he even supposedly hates it, but that's just a lie to appear "tough". He actually loves this new quiet life, not as much as crime, though.

Well, if it ain't the K man. Been a while, eh, cowpoke? Me an' Dorthy were just perusin' and cruisin' and thought we'd-? Teh. Shoot. Who am I kiddin'. You know damn well why I'm here. Heard you needed a wee hand with yer little, erm. Rat problem? Wink, wink?
Awwww… Look at you with the heavy heart – all broken down to the bottom and not knowin' where to start. What's the matter? Come to terms with the fact that you gon' die? Cuz ya are. Heh. Deadass.
The deal's simple, eh, friend? Think of it like a bout-a gamblin'. Pay big and win bigger. Though, hey. Don't go gettin' sour at me if you lose and I stab you in the rear end. That's just a part of the game, pardner.
Teenage Coal - Male/Minor Protagonist
A risk taker and savant of crime, this younger version of Coal (Coh-ole) is a peak outlaw. What, with his childish whimsy and carefree attitude, he dives into danger with a little less than a care, and with his small stature and size, he can squeeze into tight spots and fit into nooks with ease. The way he acts is mostly inspired by his mentor and, erm… foster father? Obsidney, who he looks up to as a role model. The way he talks, walks, dresses and flocks is all in the same style as his cutthroat teacher, and there's almost nothing this little mineral named fella won't do for him.

Why are you lookin' around so frantically? This isn't the first time we've done this. Crack the safe, load the bags with the money, and then get out. Easy peasy! Now stop bein' so, erm… well, yourself, I guess.
Gun? Check. Neckerchief? Check. Cool ass hat? You betcha. Checkerino! Time to take names and, uhh… What's somethin' cool Obsidney would say…?
"Pay big and win bigger"... Heh. Sounds kinda junky as is, but wow, is that gonna sound spit cool when I'm older. *Swoon*... Dang, I can just imagine it now…
Apollode - Male/Minor Protagonist
Apollode (Ah-Pah-load) is a young man who once upon a time was a savage outlaw, where he, alongside his brother Coal and sister Amber, were a part of Obsidney's crew, where they robbed, pillaged, and killed whatever and whoever he asked of them without much question. Apollode specifically wasn't too into the life crime as much as his brother was. Infact, Apollode hated it, what, with all the ruining lives and whatever. This was because, generally speaking, Apollode is a kind soul, one who'd probably feel bad for killing even just a fly. Overall, he's a very nervous and panicky person, who overthinks nearly every scenario. This isn't to say he's always nervous and thinking a thousand thoughts a second, though. When he's accompanied by his brother Coal that a thousand is decreased to a mere 500. Which is… better…?

People always say pictures tell a thousand words, and for me, well, oh god… They tell THOUSANDS. Like, with a S. A big fat one. A weird slithery one that trails off the word and one that says "boo! Look at me!". Y'know. Like, a spooky snake going "SSSSSsssss", or a bomb about to-? I-I'mma shut up now. Haha… ha.
G-Guns are loud. And dangerous. L-Loud and d-d-dangerous. Like, boom and your ear's gone. That's why I stick to my trusty little, umm… peashooter. Hah.
Why? *Sigh*. Wh-Why can't I ever do anything right? Anything! Why do I always mess everything up? Why am I so… Me? Can't I just be normal? Just once?
Teenage Apollode - Male/Minor Protagonist
Young, audacious, yet somehow still packed with a sense of maturity and panic, this younger version of Apollode (Ah-Pah-load) is a bit more down to earth than his older counterpart. Erm. Not by much though. He's a small ball of worry who feels like he's way over his head all the time, and like he has the whole world on his shoulders, and his weak stomach and low willpower don't do him many favors in this crime-packed life he's being forced to live. He's also the host of a tragic event that happened not too long ago, involving a certain somebody no longer being around, and that complied on-top of his already high-strung self? Well, it's quite the combination.

W-Wait, we're robbin' this place?! Isn't that, really, like-like-like, umm, uhh, bad? A something that people get arrested for? Y'know, like, where they're crammed into a metal box and made to eat slop forever?
I-Is that a r-real gun-?! L-L-L-Like with real bullets that actually shoots and kills people?! And now you're gonna…? But-? Wait, I-I-I don't wanna hurt nobody!!
They're gonna get back up, right? Right?! They just had a fruit snack in their coat and it exploded on them, and, whew, yeah… Any minute now… They're gonna stand back up, and everything is gonna be–? Omigod. They're not–? Hoo boy. Imma be sick… Blech…-!
Teenage Amber - Female/Minor Protagonist
Rough, rowdy, and sometimes a little pouty, Amber is the younger sister of both Coal and Apollode. Despite that, however, she's the most collected of the three, and is typically the one who keeps the other two in line. Unlike the other two who follow Obsidney's orders without much question or hesitation, this younger version of Amber has the tendency to turn to a more rebellious leaf, oftentimes back mouthing Obsidney and even going as far as directly calling him by names. In the natural order of the group, and who's the favorite amongst the children, it's quite obvious that Amber isn't it. Is it because she's a girl? Is it because of her attitude? Who knows. Whatever the case, it doesn't bother her none. Infact, she even finds joy in that fact.

There's a right way to be bad and there's a bad way to be bad. And this is, umm…? Bad? *Shakes head* Crime is supposed to be fun for everyone. It's like a game! The bad guys do the bad things and the good guys catch them. We're not supposed to win. Nobody is supposed to be sad, at least… Not forever.
No fair! You guys always get to go do the fun stuff! …While I just get to sit here and make sure nobody comes by… I want a turn bein' the bad guy, too!
One day, when I'm older, I'm going to be the best criminal ever! I'm gonna be nice, and make sure everyone has fun, and that everyone is happy, too!
Gumshoes - Male/Minor Protagonist
The Grand Guru of The Bearded Gulch and a national treasure of Neuhrial, Gumshoes is a wizened sage and monk of a man, with a plethora of advice and teachings, supposedly for any and all situations. Though, sometimes, albeit rarely, there are sometimes gaps in his ever encompassing knowledge. He may be all knowing, but he is also very old, and his age is often one to get the better of him. He might appear grumpy, ornery, and a little rude, but he's been around for centuries thanks to ancient practices, and has sat in the same spot for probably a good 3 ⁄ 4 of his life, where he's helped countless passersby with their troubles, answering their questions and giving them advice, guiding them on long, perilous journeys. He is reveled as a god and wonder by his people, so much so that there's a legend that has arisen where it's said that if you are to eat one of his seemingly infinitely lengthed beard hairs you'll live forever. It's obviously not true, but, y'know. Bon appetit, I guess?

The compass of the moon, and the compass of the sun, treasures lost to time with tales of old bound inside. They will lead you on a quest out west, through the perilous snow to an arctic throne. Follow their shine back home and your journey's end you will find.
Take heed, boy, for the seeds of our present are the plants of our future. Gaze to the past when tending your crop and you too will flourish into something great. Steer only to the new and you will wither.
Life is all about growing… A Beard.
