The Arcane Secrets: Visual Novel Game (Part 2)

Project Overview

For the first time ever, my non-profit organization, Genesis would be exploring the mental health aspect of the visual novel game "The Arcana". While it was previously owned by Nix Hydra, it is now owned by the company "Dorian". We are releasing this project as a collaboration with Dorian. 

Genesis had been hosting The Arcana themed workshops via zoom for quite a while now, and our topic was mental health. When we frst spoke to the creative director of Dorian, we said we would bring these workshops onto their platform in the form of a visual novel game, and that's exactly what we're working on. Now you might wonder, if it's a visual novel game, why the need of voice actors?

Well, Dorian has a cool feature wherein, people can livestream games on the Dorian app. We are looking voiceactors to play these characters on a livestream on Dorian. You wouldn't need to have your cameras on, only join with the required username and profile picture and we'll be good to go. This role needs you to be active with your participation. We would be hosting practice sessions via zoom and on Dorian, so we would require you to join these practice sessions because without proper practice, this cannot be done. So ONLY join if you know you can join practice calls. 

Again, you won't need fancy equipment to join this project. All you need is a good pair of headset so your voice can be heard clearly. Given the nature of these livestreams, you'd need to participate from your mobile device only, so that's the only equipment requirement. And I CANNOT emphasize this enough, please ONLY join if you're willing to put in the time and effort for this. You would need to join practice calls, and try to make time for this. We have people coming in from various regions from all over the world, so it is difficult to find a common time, but we're all putting in the effort to do our best despite the challenges. So once again, please only apply if you're serious about this project. You would need to be active in our discord server, and respond to check ins from me, so I know you're willing to put in the time and effort needed to make this project a success.   • New Casting Call created!

    Hello everyone! Apologies for not being in touch, I was down with some fever.
    As you might have seen, some of our roles have already been filled while some are still open. I am going to move the remaining roles to a new casting call and add a few new roles as well. I would recommend everyone following this project to give the other casting call a go; this is to ensure the ease of going through and casting talents for the project.

  • New Role Added!

    Hello everyone! Once again, a new role has been added to the casting call, if you'd like to give it a go. "The World: the oldest patron Arcana, The World is the personification of all life forces on Earth. They are kind and affectionate, and are hopeful that the MC would be able to save the the day. They are a character from The Arcana game as well." |

  • Reducing the deadline!

  • New Roles Added!

Portia is a lively soul. She is in her mid-20s, and is always working on something or the other. She is one of our main LIs, so if you're applying for this, know that your responsibility is twice as much as others. Portia is the Countess' main help around the palace. She has a brother, Julian, who is a wandering doctor. She loves helping people, cooking, and is generally optimistic about every situation


Voice-wise, I'm hoping Portia would have a voice of someone in their mid/early 20s. Not very high-pitched, not very low pitched either. A voice that can go from kind, to enthusiastic.

The High Priestess

The High Priestess is one of the Major arcana. She appears in the game a couple of times, to help the LIs and MC in distress. She is always calm, and willing to help the ones in need. She is a motherly figure, and has a deep, breathy voice. 
She speaks slowly and calmly, taking the time to emphasize on every word.

Vulgora is one of the courtiers in the game. They are a demon in a human form, and represents war. Hence, they are always crazing about war and destruction. They never sit calmly, and are always chaotic, and willing to cause destruction. Their voice, as I imagine, should be course and rough. Almost anime-like, where-in they shout, and scream in a voice so hoarse it almost sounds manly.

Canonically, her voice should sound like Danny Devito, but a major part of the fandom thinks she'd speak like a female teen. So I'm letting both options be open. Asra is one of our main LIs. He is a magician and a tarot card reader. He is a very calm and collected person, but he does deal with a lot of unresolved trauma. This sprite is of Asra when he was around 6-8 years of age. In the game, Asra comes across his childhood self and relives his trauma. 

For this voice, I'm imagining a high-pitched childlike voice, androgynous. He should speak in an enthusiastic tone mosgtly, changing tones whenever his mood changes.

Muriel is one of our main LIs. He is a big man, 6'10" in height. He is very shy, and introverted, anxious in public. He prefers being alone and not speaking to anyone unless absolutely needed or he trusts them 250%. He deals with a lot of anxiety and PTSD too. This is Muriel's sprite as a kiddo. He was still shy, introverted and anxious, but he did speak a tad bit more than he does as an adult. He speaks with a lot of pauses, as if in hesitation that something bad would happen. He hates confrontations and fights. 

Voice-wise, I'm thinking a male adolescent voice. Like someone who just hit puberty and their voice hasn't developed fully yet.

I did not think I'd add this role, but I think this would be a very fine addition. So this role is for our main character. Well, their ghost. So story-wise, our MC died of the plague three years back, but one of our LIs, Asra brought them back to life by making a deal with the Devil. This ghost is nothing but the guilt in the hearts of the LIs since they couldn't save the MC on time. Yes, MC did resurrect, but the fact that the MC had to bear so much before the passed, caused immense guilt within the hearts of the LIs. This ghost is a representation of that. 

Voice wise, I think their voice would be hollow. Imagine a trapped spirit, exhausted, filled with spite. They want to scream and rage, but they're tied to the mortal world because of all the guilt. They don't have a clear voice, just a hollow cry. Yeah I went a little too poetic there, I'll leave the rest to you talented bunch.
