Stick-Ers: An Animated Sitcom
Project Overview
Hey! Welcome to-
A new animated series on Sataline!
What is Stick-Ers?
Stick-Ers is an animated sitcom about twins John & Sam, their anxiety-ridden mother Rose, and their happy-go-lucky friend Holly. The series follows the four as they adventure through the hijinks of their town, and discover more about themselves throughout the show.
Who is producing Stick-Ers?
One word: Sataline… You don’t know that is, do you? Sataline is a YouTube channel both for production and for distribution. We make podcasts, videos, streams, and in this instance: Animation, Stick-Ers being our first big break through in the medium. We are mainly a team of inexperienced creators, but are excited to work on something like this!
When will the pilot release?
The estimated release date is around summer of 2022. Either June, July or August. We have a full plan and everything! Too big a plan to put here though, so just trust us on this one.
Any delays will be tweeted about over on our twitter, @SatalineMedia.
Payment
If i'm going to pay you (which I am) you will need to have a PayPal for me to do so... That's the entire section, onto the next one.
What if we get a full first season? + A tad bit of honesty.
If (more like when) we get the budget for a full first season of the show, not only will the pay for each of the roles increase, but we will upgrade the software to be the best it can be in order to make the highest quality show we can make! I have incredibly high hopes for this show, and I truly believe everyone, or at least a lot of people, will love it.
Now for that "tad bit of honesty". I would like to apologise for the low pay. I know you don't have to work on this show or anything, it is a choice at that, but it's not exactly the amount I would personally try to pay people. I hope that when we get a full show, I can change that and pay everyone the amount they deserve. So, sorry, and thank you if you just don't care for the low pay. I really, truly appreciate it.
GoFundMe.
We now have a GoFundMe for anyone who wants to financially support the show! It can be found right... here!
Thank you!
Whether you are here just to check out what the show is, or to become a part of the team, we would like to thank you for visiting this casting call! Remember: Have a lovely day, wear your seatbelts, and drink some water. You need that.

The Final Day
Hey!... Wow, there is a lot of you. Today is the final day of the casting call (12 hours left actually from when I'm posting this) meaning it's almsot time that we cast our... cast. It's very exciting. I'd like to say thank you (again, again, again) by the way for the sheer amount of people that have auditioned for this show, and the amount of you that have shown the interest you have. This is really amazing. At midnight GMT, the casting call will close and 24 hours after that, I will cast the crew on here. Everyone that is cast will be sent an invite to our Stick-Ers production server and our Sataline server. There will be an announcment for what is bassically an introduction to the show, server, and the people there. I'm really excited to see you. -Jack P.S. Animators wont be picked on here, we're changing that a bit. More info later. -
One More Week
One more week and this casting call is done. See you all soon!! -
Update #4: Storyboard Artist, Update on Audio Show, and fun times
Hey there everyone! Again. Just a small update for today. Lucky you! Less reading. First of all: *Triumphant horns* We picked our storyboard artist: Egg Soup! Thank you to all the storyboard artists that applied for this role. Seriously, every single artist that applied was great, and im honestly a little sad I couldn't cast more of you. If we ever need more storyboard artists though, either for Stick-Ers or another project, I'll make sure to call on one of you, if you would still be interested! Next up: An update on that audio show I mentioned before. I've had a single idea for an audio show, which im currently writing a pilot for, but it's still pretty up in the air right now. Theres also a problem with the audio show, being that it might cost more money than I was hoping if I do go with the idea I had. It's a great concept! Just a pricy one. Regardless, the chances of us making an audio show are more likely than not, as I've actually found more time left to do work than I thought I would. More information will come this summer, so if you want to stay notified, go to @satalinemedia on Twitter! Thank you! Finally, something about discord. We have two discord servers: One for Stick-Ers and one for Sataline. Everyone that get's auditioned for the show will get access to both, though maybe not from the get-go as I'm trying to rework the Sataline server to be more for general use other than looking into actual projects. This is just so if we ever need to talk as a whole server for announcments or to play Jackbox or something, we have a good place to do that! Thank you again for the amount of people that have applied. Yes, I will say this in every update. I love you :) -Jack -
UPDATE #3 / Writing, Storyboard Artist, and New Audio-Show? (Maybe)
TL;DR At the bottom of the update Hello again! I’m Jack, and I’m back, and I got an update. First of all, this WAS supposed to be a video, but I left my SD card at home like a moron, meaning I cant edit it :) (Woops, sorry. More reading for you.). I’ll try and add a video version as soon as possible. Regardless of how I tell you, I got big news to share! Let’s start off with the news about the casting call. I already mentioned this in a previous update, but I’ll say it here anyway: STORYBOARD ARTIST WILL BE PICKED ON THE 18TH OF JUNE. IN OTHER WORDS, FOUR DAYS. DON’T PANIC! Thank you. I’m VERY excited to start this team! Still gotta come up with a team name, but we can come up with that together. Next up: My progress on writing the fourth and fifth draft of the pilot. I’ll admit, I haven’t had the opportunity to get much writing done. College is coming to a close but I still have a lot of work to finish up for it, as covid really messed up my motivation for all my college work this year and I have a lot to catch up on. Alongside un-finished college work, I also just finished making Film! To Watch W/ Me Episode 4, which also takes a bit of time. The last two days I have spent mainly relaxing, as whenever I tried to write I would get nothing done, due to the stress. After two days of watching E3 and spending time with my girlfriend, I think I’m in a good headspace to write again! More updates on the writing process will be found on my personal twitter, @jackintoshvids. Finally: A new Project?? You read my right folks, we might (emphasis on the might) be making a new project in the form of a written audio-show. This is purely just a thought so far, as I havn’t had the time to properly figure out if this is something I even have the right time or resources to handle, but there are many reasons I would love to make this. The biggest reason I would love to make an audio-show is due to the amount of voice acting auditions we have received! There’s so many of you that have shown your voice, some even for the first time, and I honestly say I love so many of you! You all have such freaking incredible talent, and it genuinely bums me out that I cant use each and every single one of you for Stick-Ers… but that wont stop me from including you in other projects, if that’s okay with you! So, that’s one reason. Having an excuse to meet and include as many of you in Sataline projects as possible. But that’s not very good groundworks to make a project in the first place, is it? Well, you can trust me when I say that I have also wanted to make an audio-show for a while! They are a really interesting way to tell stories that lets the listener have an image of whats happening in their head. So, books! Without the reading. Still, I would genuinely love the opportunity to work on this, as it leads right onto my third reason! Since writing Stick-Ers is going to take a lot of time, I’ll be working on the pilot or the rest of Season 1… a lot over the next year. Which is a terrible thing, as if I keep working and working on this one show with this one style of writing, im not going to do much good writing. Having an audio show can definitely help fix that! I will have something new and different to write, which could really help me get back in a good writing mood for Stick-Ers. Again, this audio-show will only happen if I have the time. This summer is going to be bust for me, as I’ll be trying to get Sataline really off the ground (aiming for 1000 subscribers before the Stick-Ers pilot releases), and that means me working every second I can on the channel. If I have the time, I’d love to make the audio-show! If not, then it’s not completely out of the woods, though someone else may be directing or editing it. Leave a comment if this would be something you’re interested in! Anyway, sorry for the long and drawn out (and probably messy) update. I am very tired and have been typing all day, and I’m sorry. And thank you again. I love you <3 TL;DR: Storyboard Artists being picked soon, Not much work on Stick-Ers Pilot script, Maybe an audio show?? And, you should subscribe to Sataline :)
Holly is one of the four main characters in "Stick-Ers"! She is the best friend to twins John & Sam, and follows them on their adventures and even goes on her own.
Holly is age 15 as of the pilot, so her voice should reflect that. Slightly squaky, but not too high pitched. Remember: A LOT of energy is needed for this character! In terms of emotion she's incredibly happy most of the time, but has her moments of sadness or anger, just like anyone would.
Hey there! I'm [your name], and im auditioning to voice Holly, one of the lead characters in Stick-Ers!
I just wanted to do something special since you were leaving town soon. (Sentimental)
You two dragged me all across Pennymore for THIS?? (Angry)
Rose is the mother of the twins and another of the main cast in Stick-Ers, and will follow / look over John, Sam & Holly while joining them every now and again on their misadventures.
At the time of the pilot, Rose is 39, but is burdened with a ton of work from her job and stress from looking after two twins alone, and then Holly half the time as she just... shows up, so her voice is strained a lot of the time. Regardless, she loves John, Sam & Holly and worries for them almost all the time, so her voice should also reflect the more caring personality she shows towards the other three. However, she isn't scared to show a more angry side.
Hello! I'm [Your Name], and im auditioning to voice Rose. The mother of John & Sam, and one of the main character in Stick-Ers.
We're moving today! I've been telling you two for weeks! (Annoyed)
Of course I'll be here for you... Unless it's a sunday, that's my reading day. (Reassuring / Calming)
Mr. Noble is a side character in Stick-Ers, one of the few teachers we will see in the show.
Mr. Noble works at the Pennymore High School as the head science teacher and physics teacher. He will run into the cast many times across the show, but for now is seen in the pilot episode in "Act 1", alongside the earth-hating art teacher, Ms. Taint.
Oh! What are you three doing here? (Surprised)
Can just ONE person PLEASE tell me what the answer to this equation is? (Frustrated)
So- That's when I said, "Thats why my head HERTZ!" (Laughs) Oh, no one laughed. (Excitement to Dissapointment)
Ms. Taint is one of the main teachers we will see across Stick-Ers.
Ms. Taint is the art teacher of Pennymore High School, yet has an odd agender against the earth. So, we made the opposite of Bob Ross and named her "Miss Taint". No, not after... that. As in "tainting the earth". Really guys, come on. We will see Ms. Taint over many episodes of the show.
You! You almost burned down my class! (Anger)
Coal over here is trying to teach me about "morals" and "the earth" and "why I should stop buying oil paints". (Frustrated)
Remember to give the tree a sad face; that's the best part! (Happy!... For some reason)
There are many students in Pennymore High School, all classmates to John, Sam and Holly, and all will be used and given unique personality's, and will be included in a lot of major episodes, and even play a big role in the pilot episode. So, try your voice, and I (Jack) will use the few brain cells I have left to wonder what character you could voice!
However, this role is still in a limited supply, around 8-10 students. So get to submitting voices! This role will be gone VERY quickly.
Hello! I want to voice one of the student side characters in the show "Stick-Ers"!
[IMPROVSE]
[IMPROVSE, except a SECOND time]
Hey there, storyboard artists and friends alike! We could use your help.
Let's start with the length of time an episode of Stick-Ers usually lasts for: 10-14 minutes. I cant say exactly how many drawings you will have to make, as it will depend on the episode, but if there's a longer episode you will be compensated for that, alongside any re-writes we need storyboarded.
Software: Unlike the animation, the software is ENTIRELY down to you! So long as we can get the images and take them into an animatic. We DO recommend a proper storyboarding software, like "Storyboard Pro" by Toon Boom, however, that software is incredibly expensive, so work with what you have!
Payment: So, the "Per Project" say's $484 and we aren't technically wrong, but let's get more specific: We will pay $16 for every 30 seconds storyboarded.
When appyling: Please show me a google doc with video evidence of your storyboards being produced and the final product of said storyboards. Maybe even describe your process. Extra videos or audio explanations would help!
Say something you think would fit
Ya know, nobody ever really seems to NOTICE the background... Until it turns out no one hired a background artist!
We need a background artist for the show to make... backgrounds! We actually cant say exactly "how many" we need, since we need a more visual look at the shots we need, but my estimate is around sixty-seventy backgrounds. Backgrounds will need color, some with objects, and some with movement, but that can be discussed further when in production.
Software: Similar to the storyboard artist role, you can use whatever software you want to make the backgrounds. So long as the result works!
Payment: We will pay $8 on the background, possibly more depending on how complicated it is.
When appyling: Please show me a google doc with video evidence of your background creation (a timelapse if need be) and maybe even describe your process. Also, make sure your examples fit the style of the show. Similar to the one seen in animation or slightly different. Include color too! Extra videos or audio explanations would help!

Tis a story about a character designer, creating the looks of stick figures both good & evil. So, you! (Hopefully, if you want. No pressure!)
A lot of the characters my brain envisions needs someone to draw them out, and put their own views and idea's into the mix! And let me tell you, there is A LOT of characters that need designing for the pilot episode alone! So, you'll have your work cut out for you. We currently have twelve characters that need either designing or re-designing, all in good quality and quantity.
Software: Any software you want! So long as it works for you and can work with good, quality images.
Payment: $12 for a single character design sheet, but I'm willing to pay more depending on how complicated the design is.
When appyling: Please show me any previous designs you have worked on, both simple and complex. Dont be scared to show your weirder designs! Same with the last two, maybe include a timelapse of your character creation or a video / audio file explaining your process.
Say something you think would fit
"But Jack, this is a animated show! Why do you need a set designer?" because my brain is too small to draw what I have in my brain. So, my good friend, please help me.
The amount of set's you will have to design entirely depends on how many new locations we see. For the pilot however, I can give you an EXACT amount! Seven. So, sound good...? Right, more detail, got it. We mainly need: House interiors / Exterior, inside of a school hallway, two classrooms, among others. Mainly town locations and commodities.
In terms of skill requirement, I need someone sketch locations in a 2D perspective. Just to get a good look and idea at the locations.
Payment: I can pay $12 for a single location design, but depending on the location I can pay more.
When appyling: This roles includes a lot of input, so I will be taking a shot in the dark at who I pick, so this really is down to just your artwork! Let me know you can not only design different locations you would find in a town, but objects too.

Ya'll are important to the animation of an animated show, right? Right.
Despite the fact that the characters are all stick figures, we actually use Toon Boom's Puppet / Rig system to animate the show, in order to set the style apart from other shows. It also makes it easier on the animators, shortening the time it takes to make an episode while simultaneously still keeping it at a good quality.
Software: For the animation, we will be using Toon Boom Harmony 20 Essentials. Harmony Premium is usually used to create the rigs and puppets, but our lead animator (@TheMorningShort) has the program already, and makes all the rigs for the show. Luckily for us (and the fact we have enough money to make the show) we can still use the rigs in Essentials. (If we ever get a full first season going, I would like to buy multiple versions of Premium on Sataline Animation Email accounts for animators)
Payment: For every 30 seconds of rig animation, I will pay $24, adding up to around $144 in total for one animator to make three minutes of animation each.
When appyling: I'm going to need a lot of detail for these roles. Im going to need to see your process, a video / audio file explaining your process, the ability to use rigs in Toon Boom Harmony, and at least four of your best animations using rigs in Toon Boom. Alongside any extra infomation you can provide, even testimonials from others you may have worked with.
