--- What is Star Fox Event Horizon? ---
Star Fox Event Horizon is a free fan made game. The project's goal was to create the most official feeling Star Fox game possible after years of franchise neglect and increasingly unpopular sequels that deviated wildly from the series' roots as a Space Combat Shooter. In terms of gameplay, Star Fox Event Horizon seeks to build off of the original Star Fox and Star Fox 64, with a very heavy emphasis on fighter craft, tank, and submarine combat in real time fully 3d environments. Despite this, the game pools characters, events, and lore from across the entire series and attempts to make a single large game that spans the entire timeline of the series. This game will be fully voiced, and in fact some of the original voice actors of the series, (such as Estelle Ellis, the voice of Krystal) have become involved in the project and are reprising their roles. There are still many other characters that needs voices, and that is where this casting call begins.
---Current Priority---
Star Fox Event Horizon takes place across many years and is divided into several different eras. These eras roughly correspond to the existing Star Fox games, such as the Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64), Saurian Crisis (Star Fox Adventures), etc. I am tackling the game in order, working on each era chronologically. Currently I have finished all of the levels for the Lylat Wars era, and most of the characters and details in this casting call will focus primarily on that set of missions. As more progress is made I will add and update additional roles on Casting Call Club.
Do note that there will be spoilers that will have to be discussed with some of these characters.
---General Rules---
More so Pet Peeves than Rules these are by no means absolute and I am always willing to break them and make exceptions. They are just something to keep in mind with how I think and pick Voice Actors.
- Please try not to fake accents. If I specify a character has a particular accent, I would prefer a voice actor that naturally has that accent. I will and already have made exceptions to this, but it’s very easy to detect fake accents even with decent voice actors.
- Please attempt to play characters that are close to your actual age. If you are relatively young, please do not try to play an elderly character like Peppy or Randorn. It’s generally very hard for a youthful person, even those that are good actors, to pull off a convincing voice that sounds much older than they actually are. I have received countless voice acting attempts from very young actors trying to sound older than their age and it never works.
- Please have actual voice acting experience. I don’t want to shun newcomers and potential new talent, but in the interest of saving time (since this is a massive project that is very time consuming) I will probably pass on people who lack experience unless something about them very clearly stands out to me.
- Please have an actual decent mic. You could have the most perfect Peppy perfomance ever but it will mean nothing if you sound like you are recording in tin can with hurricane wind in the background. I have received countless voice acting attempts on very bad quality mics and will likely immediately dismiss any samples that are not recorded on something decent.
- Please note that I will be extremely picky and it is nothing personal if I do not accept your voice acting submissions. More than anything I want this project to sound like a professionally made video game with actual adults and not a fan project that was thrown together online with inexperienced teenagers trying to voice characters. I fully accept that this goal might be a bit egomaniacal and unreasonable of me.
