Soul Eater: An Anime Fan-Made Dub

Maka Albarn is a one-star scythe meister at Death Weapon Meister Academy and the daughter of Spirit Albarn, the Grim Reaper's current weapon partner. Disgusted by her father's antics, she followed in her mother's footsteps and became a scythe-meister partnered with the magic scythe, Soul Eater, to create a death scythe more powerful than her father. Possessing a rather serious personality, Maka is a studious girl with excellent grades and is noted to be courageous enough to fight against fear itself. She is, however, repulsed by womanizing antics such as that of her father.

Soul Evans is a demon weapon who was born into a family of famous musicians. After discovering his weapon abilities as a demon scythe, Soul joined Death Weapon Meister Academy where he partnered with the scythe-meister, Maka Albarn. Soul's attitude is laid-back and nonchalant at the start, as he tries to mold himself to his expectations of how someone "cool" would act. He is almost the complete opposite of Maka Albarn, being reserved and aloof. He often expresses how he feels about some situations by either claiming that something is "cool" or "not cool", Being a cool guy, he prefers to use the direct or stupid approach, which most of the time fails. He has a unique love for eating souls that seems to not be shared by many of the other Weapons, drooling quite frequently when his next meal is nearby. He also seems to be a glutton towards food in general. He can sometimes become too driven by the thought of eating souls, which leads him to bicker with Maka or become impatient with her; but despite their squabbles, they are always able to maintain a solid friend-partner relationship. He is slightly immature by being headstrong, stubborn, apathetic to most things, and argumentative. He firmly believes that breaking promises and changing sides 'isn't cool at all'. Deep down, he is always looking out for his friends and is even willing to sacrifice himself to protect his partner, Maka, showing his bravery and dedication. He is also quick-thinking and cunning, being able to figure out a plan or a strategy rather quickly. He always tends to think things through before doing certain actions. Although this makes him more aware of things that some people cannot see, it sometimes hinders him as he often ends up doubting and hesitating at crucial moments, thereby making him very indecisive when a decision has to be made quickly.

Black☆Star is an assassin, shadow weapon meister, and the last survivor of the infamous Star Clan taken in the DWMA and raised by Sid Barrett. In the DWMA, his weapon partner is Tsubaki Nakatsukasa, he is one of the top students in the academy as well as a former member of Spartoi. An assassin with an unusual trait of desiring to be in the spotlight, Black☆Star can be described as a wild meister in contrast to his calmer weapon partner with dreams of "transcending the gods". Eventually, Black☆Star also develops the goal of committing himself to master the Path of the Warrior. Initially, Black☆Star was remarked to be intensely self-centered by Stein, causing him to not take certain situations seriously and his arrogance causing him to be narcissistic and is visibly riled by those who he believes have or are wanting to take attention away from himself.

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa is a demon weapon partnered with Black☆Star hailing from the Nakatsukasa Clan, a special weapons clan that are direct descendants of demon weapons created by the mother of magic weapons, Arachne Gorgon. Having inherited the unique multi-form ability of her clan, she joined Death Weapon Meister Academy to stop her brother from becoming a kishin. As one of the oldest members of her teammates, Tsubaki is one of the most mature and level-headed, aside from Maka. However, she is not as short-tempered as the scythe meister and is very patient and forgiving. She has a very magnanimous, polite, and gentle personality and always tries to help or comfort her friends even when she has no idea how to help. She is caring and understanding and sometimes acts as the mediator when her friends fight, and her understanding and insight sometimes makes her the agony aunt figure for troubled people. She cares deeply for her friends and does not seem fond of things that might make them upset. She is also generous and kindhearted, up until the point that some people even take advantage of her. She also has a habit of apologizing, even when it isn't her fault (something which she often does when Black☆Star does something wrong in front of people). One of the most mature and flexible characters, Tsubaki is very amicable and gets along well with her peers, and can be very understanding of their feelings. Tsubaki's soul is very cooperative and has a lot of space to accept people.

Death the Kid, commonly referred to as simply Kid, is the second son of Death himself and the Meister of the Demon Twin Guns, Liz Thompson and Patty Thompson. Created from a piece of Death himself, Death the Kid is known to be one of the top 3 EAT students in the DWMA. Death the Kid is known to be a normally calm and mature individual compared to those like Black☆Star and Soul Eater. He's shown to be prideful of his status as a Shinigami, wanting to become the next full-fledged Shinigami and inherit his father's responsibilities However, he also wants to do so in his unique way. Despite being a Shinigami he is also capable of being humane and not displaying the typical arrogance of someone who has the status of a god. Kid also has a great sense of morality and order. Despite being a god, he doesn't deny evil and that there's no one person without some evil within them. However, he believes that everything is about balance instead and strives to keep the balance between "good" and "evil" in equilibrium. Despite favoring order, he is also aware of not following it blindly. Kid is also extremely humble. Like his father, he also has a fierce and much darker side in his personality. While normally calm and collective, Kid is still susceptible to being angered. Despite his great capabilities, Kid also possesses some flaws, most notable him being a perfectionist to the point of having OCD/OD-esque qualities. Initially, he was obsessed with orderliness and paying excessively close attention to detail. Despite this flaw, he is noticeably not unaffected by his father's appearance despite it being asymmetrical possibly due to his immense respect for him. Kid has his own, odd quirks. His favorite number is eight due to its symmetry and, according to Liz, was willing to try and place himself in exactly eight seconds during a 100-meter dash test and end up not meeting the time. He can also be somewhat overconfident in his ability, feeling the need not to study Soul Studies just because he was a Shinigami. Due to his perfectionist personality, he is the type of person to recall and correct people on the small of detail.

Liz Thompson is a demon weapon and the older sister of Patty Thompson. Formerly a thuggish ruffian alongside her sister raised in the streets of New York, both her own and sister's life turn for the better when they encountered their future meister, Death the Kid. Eventually becoming Kid's weapon partner alongside her sister, she became a student of Death Weapon Meister Academy and enrolled in the E.A.T Class. After the fall of Arachnophobia, she was later recognized as a two-star weapon and was a member of Spartoi until the battle on the Moon against the Clown Army. While Patty is very child-like, Liz is very moody and more like a stereotypical teenage girl (worried about makeup, shopping, looks, etc). Despite mostly being the cool-headed and serious of the sisters, she is shown to be extremely afraid of paranormal things, convinced that any ghost she meets is out to eat her. She can also be a little cynical, jaded, and shallow sometimes, and sometimes takes advantage of other people for her gains. She can be flirtatious and can also be charming to men, mostly to deceive them. Both Liz and Patty admire Kid's dignified soul because they are from the streets. Unlike Patty, Liz finds the drama brought on by Kid's perfectionist attitude annoying. Also, Patty adores her and thinks that Liz knows everything. She is the older and more mature of the two sisters. Kid's obsession with symmetry and how he will let it control his life sometimes gets on her nerves and she frequently reprimands Kid for this, although she won't hesitate to cheer him up when he is depressed. She also displays wit, courage, and determination whenever her friends are in danger, and tries her best to protect them.

Patty Thompson is a Demon Weapon and the younger sister of Liz Thompson. Known as one of the "Demon Twin Guns", both her and her sister were known as the "Brooklyn Devils" and were petty thugs until being found by their now current Meister and Shinigami, Death the Kid. Over time, she reformed from her thieving and ruffian ways along with Liz and became Kid's weapon and later became DWMA students within the E.A.T Class. Patty acts and speaks like a young child, often using a singsong voice. She pronounces words like "hello" and "sorry", as a child would "hullo" and "sowwy", and seems to still be learning about simple things such as assigning animal noises to the right animal. This child-like disposition can lead to her coming across as nosy or insensitive. This lack of knowledge may be due to her growing up on the streets and presumably not having a formal education. Unlike her sister Liz, Patty enjoys the drama brought on by Kid's perfectionist attitude; though she does cheer him up when he gets down on himself about it. She seems naïve and simple-minded, seeming not to take life seriously. While Patty had these traits before moving to Death City, such simplemindedness was far more violent and nefarious. With time working at Deathbucks Café, Patty would spend her off-time building a dragon sculpture out of napkins and frightening Tsugumi Harudori with her ghost Halloween outfit. She also seems fascinated by the smallest details, such as children's alphabet books or a hair clip. She frequently laughs, even when something bad happens. On the few occasions when she loses her temper, her childlike personality is replaced by almost insane anger, as if her personality returns to how she behaved when a criminal in Brooklyn. Her demeanor can be so frightening that it scares Kid, even to the point of risking running through an asymmetric Tadpole Bomb minefield. When confronting some serious topics, and dangerous situations, Patty's childishly naïve personality is replaced with a more serious personality, suggesting that her bubbly personality may be a mask or merely how she wants to act.

Crona, often infamously referred to as the Demon Sword, is a demon sword master and the biological child of the witch, Medusa Gorgon. The meister partner to the actual demon sword, Ragnarok, they're driven by their mother's aim into turning them into a Kishin. Crona is pessimistic and doesn't hold a high opinion of themself. Due to being raised by Medusa Gorgon, they are highly negative as well as nervous and submissive most of the time, playing a part in their bullying from Ragnarok. Possessing a great amount of shyness, Crona cites they're unable to "deal" with many things, whether it pertains to a situation, an action, or a specific individual. This causes them to completely shut themself down from their surroundings. Perhaps what makes Crona a dangerous enemy is their unbalanced state of mind and inclination to insanity. This unbalanced state of mind originates from not only the influence of the Black Blood's Madness but namely the abuse they suffered from the likes of both Ragnarok and Medusa as she drilled and tortured them into learning the ability to kill. Because of this, Crona is subjected to showing signs of insanity and aggression, spouting senseless comments and laughing at random moments This level of abuse has caused them to gain a warped objective of attempting to become a Kishin in an attempt to be able to "deal" with any given subject as well as fulfill Medusa's goal and gain not only her acceptance and love but to avoid being abandoned by their parent. Crona doesn't understand the concept of morality. After meeting Maka and their enrollment into the DWMA, Crona started showing more positive traits and was capable of feeling the need to protect Maka, who was previously their enemy. Their placement within Death City and DWMA caused Crona to become relaxed and happy in demeanor. Crona themself possess some quirks. They also tend to remind others of having Black Blood in battle redundantly. Due to their shy and nervous personality, Crona has a knack for naming parts of rooms such as "Mr. Corner" as well as having shuffling footsteps in general.

Ragnarok, also known as the Demon Sword, is the weapon partner of Crona. Born a normal demon weapon, he was melted by Medusa in a vat of Black Blood while in his weapon form and mixed into Crona's blood. Ragnarok is rude, abrasive, loud-mouthed, and confident in his abilities. As a bully, Ragnarok is easily irritated, rude and violent, having no qualms about beating up his meister, giving Crona noogies, and depriving them of sleep purposefully. He has a habit of calling other people names, such as when he calls Maka a cow, a sow, and an idiot, and Dr. Stein a "screwhead". He also has a deceitful nature, not above taking advantage of Marie Mjolnir's kindness and lying to her and haggling with Maka for candy even in serious situations despite knowing it was unnecessary. Despite his bullying nature, he is intimidated from time to time when Crona manages to stand up to him, remarking to finding his meister scary. Ragnarok is also perverted, flipping Maka's skirt up with the intent of deriving some pleasure (only to criticize he did not) and pulling on Crona's skirt for no other known reason.

Asura is the first generation kishin and Great Old One whose affinity to madness resides in the madness of fear. Born as Death's eldest son and as a fragment containing his fear for Death to be the God of Absolute Order. He formerly served as a warlord of the Eight Reaper Legions as its strongest member until he betrayed the group, and became a Kishin. He was then sealed away by his father and remained sealed until his revival by Medusa's Faction. As the physical embodiment of fear, Asura's behavior is extremely inconceivable; one minute he seemingly has a completely calm and cool demeanor, and the next he is both maniacal and senseless. Interestingly enough, this can be seen when Asura covers his face, he tends to act erratically and is unpredictable, making him especially dangerous. However, unmasked, he is almost the opposite. He displays a much more calm and "sane" demeanor, even displaying sarcasm. Asura views mankind as nothing more than Death's puppets, finding that what's considered normal and insane to be born of Death's whims. He also considers Death and those who want to become what is known as a "true reaper" like Death the Kid to be tyrants. Despite his conflicting and immoral views, he seems to not understand those who possess strong will even in the presence of someone more powerful, causing him legitimate confusion. Despite his sinister intentions, Asura also appears to possess a strange, hidden sense of humor.

Death, originally known as simply God, is the reaper and Great Old One of order who founded and serves as headmaster of Death Weapon Meister Academy, acts as the third meister of Spirit Albarn, and fathers both Death the Kid and Asura. Around eight hundred years ago, Death maintained order throughout the world himself and by leading an elite guard squadron known as the Eight Reaper Legions until one of his elite guard and first son, Asura, betrayed him and managed to become a kishin. Eventually, Death confronted Asura and was forced to seal him away to contain his madness and sacrificed his mobility. To this end, he founded Death Weapon Meister Academy shortly after for centuries. In the current era, Death serves as the headmaster of the academy with the Death Scythes, the academy, and his second son, Death the Kid, as allies to help maintain world order and prevent the rise of another Kishin. Death is a kind, wise, and benevolent figure, often showing care for those within the DWMA and optimistic. Despite his background and powerful position within the school, he tends to speak in a silly voice and wear a different outward appearance from before so as not to scare children. Despite his benevolent and easygoing nature, even Death himself has a far more serious side. He's next to intolerant of Spirit's drunken and silly behavior at times as well as to inappropriate behavior. He's also not above punishing others. Death himself possesses some eccentricities: He gives out short greeting speech, at times puts his students in dangerous but fabricated situations for the sake of bettering them, and enjoys telling expositions.

Spirit Albarn, also known as Death Scythe, is the demon weapon partner of the late Death and father of Maka Albarn who was turned into a death scythe by his ex-wife. As his nickname implies, he is one of death's weapons and is the most powerful. Spirit is casually silly and youthfully influenced in his personal life along with in circumstances that require no seriousness. He's known for his flaw of being a womanizer, finding entertainment in being surrounded by women. He is very perverse, being so much he'll even take attendance of only the female students at the DWMA, an action someone like Soul Eater considers creepy. He is unable to stay in a long-term relationship due to this flaw. Despite expressing regrets for cheating on his now ex-wife and claiming to love her still, some like Maka find this difficult to believe due to his repeated actions regardless of his apparent guilt. Perhaps his most redeeming quality, however, is the fact that Spirit is also a truly caring and passionate parent, longing for the love and acceptance of his daughter, even before cheating on his wife. Because of this, he is shown to continuously support her, even when she denies it. In addition, he holds a firm view on the love of a parent. It is evident that, though his attempts to do so are seen as questionable and humiliating by others, Spirit actively tries to be a good father to Maka. In certain situations, he can be serious. He loves his job and holds his position as a Death Scythe to a high degree.

Dr. Franken Stein is an eccentric but talented doctor and meister who is known to be the strongest meister to have graduated from Death Weapon Meister Academy and formerly Spirit Albarn's first weapon partner. He later becomes a teacher at the academy upon Death's request and was later assigned to act as a meister to Marie Mjolnir. Being a man of science, Dr. Stein sees everything in the world, including himself, as an experiment. From childhood, he often wanted to dissect the people around him only to be stopped by Spirit. This personality trait made all those around him afraid of him. This strange hobby of wanting to dissect anything he thinks is interesting was still present, even when Stein became an adult. He also exhibits a sadistic and intimidating personality. Stein has dormant madness. He has even admitted that he is especially sensitive to it. Stein ultimately did go insane and struggled to maintain it. He even quit smoking as a way to convince himself. He can't feel deep emotions other than the need to dissect whatever interests or irritates him. This tendency likely seems to be more destructive or psychotic, which explains his dormant madness. He is depicted as morally bankrupt, at least back in his youth. Despite this cruel and twisted personality, Stein does have a kind and compassionate side that worries for his friends and students and he feels the need to protect them. He also exhibits a rather paternal demeanor towards his students.

Medusa Gorgon, simply known as Dr. Medusa while in the academy, is a witch, one of the three Gorgon Sisters, and the mother of the demon swordmaster, Crona. Formerly a nurse in the DWMA, she secretly plotted to release the Kishin from his sealing and succeeded with the assistance of her group of associates. When acting as DWMA's nurse, Medusa presents herself as a caring and supportive member of the staff. She was known throughout the academy for being a kind faculty member who not only treated students but also counseled them. However, Medusa in actuality cares little for anyone but herself. Being a scientist, she also tends to view things like a researcher to the point of using actual individuals such as her child, for experiments. In addition, she can be viewed as irredeemable, willing to manipulate anyone for her goals, and even abandon her own child after deeming them a "failure". Perhaps Medusa's greatest strength, however, is her cunning and intellect. Often enough, she forms complex plans that even the DWMA at times fails to counter and tends to learn from her own mistakes. She even feels blasphemy is part of the nature of being a Witch. However, despite these dark and manipulative traits, even Medusa can possess some love. However, she most likely cannot truly understand the concept of love. Medusa herself isn't infallible to even being subject to other emotions such as nervousness to the point of actually fidgeting. Oddly enough, despite her horrendous actions and rather odd tendencies, she finds the antics of the DWMA upper brass utterly absurd, and impossible to manage.

Sid Barrett is a three-star meister partner to Mira Naigus, instructor of Death Weapon Meister Academy, and a high-ranking member of the DWMA Central Intelligence Agency. Though killed in action by Shaula Gorgon, he is later resurrected as a zombie by Franken Stein. Before his death, Sid was known to be a friendly and well-respected teacher, having earned admiration and respect from not only the students he taught, whether they were in the EAT or NOT class, but even the likes of the staff such as Death and his weapon partner, Mira Naigus. While Sid was somewhat strict in his teachings as matter of fact, he deeply cared for all his students. He was also merciful and loved children even at the young age of 13, having been the one to not only spare Black☆Star's life but accept him as his son. He also was an individual who never hesitated in helping a student and inspiring them to unleash their latent potential. He also described himself as a stubborn individual. Even when he resurfaced as a Zombie, he still retained all his previous traits. In addition, Sid carries himself as a professional and follows orders to the letter. Sid is also known for describing and critiquing himself, often saying "That's the kind of man I was".

Ox Ford is a meister at Death Weapon Meister Academy, the weapon partner of Harvar D. Éclair, and is both a contender for being top of the class and considered one of the best students within the E.A.T Class. As one of the students with the highest grades, Ox is a very studious and serious person, as both he and Harvar seemingly constantly study. He is also shown to be fairly good at chess. Consistent with his love of studying, Ox is also very logical and cool-headed, preferring to think things through rationally without jumping into situations without thinking of the consequences. He seems to be slightly annoyed when people fail to see when they are being illogical. He hardly loses his temper, even in the direst of situations. He is also very polite and formal, and his manner of speech is very articulate and polite, even when talking to his friends. He holds pride in his reputation as a top student and holds confidence in his judgment, not hesitating to tell people when they are being irrational. He also likes to refer to himself as 'the Royal Thunder or the 'Royal Thunder Commander'. However, despite being logical, Ox does not take his logical thinking as far as his partner, Harvar, who is almost cold-hearted and robotic in his actions because of this. Ox cares for his friends and classmates, and never hesitates to protect them. If his friends are in danger, he does not stall in helping them, even if it means going against the DWMA's orders and injuring his reputation as a top student, showing that he is willing to put aside pride for more important things. This also serves as the main difference between him and Harvar, who is more occupied with the results, rather than the means. Ox is also shown to be very kindhearted and hard-working. He also displays a fair bit of eccentricity in that he always styles his hair in the shape of two 'horns,' shaving the rest of his hair off. He seems to have great pride in his hairstyle, despite being mocked for it and claims that the two horns give him the wisdom to save the ones he loves, and the strength to protect his friends, and is the very lightning that drives him forward. However, he still can change. He is also deeply in love with Kim and is surprisingly emotional and open about his feelings for her, which is rather out of character for his usual serious personality. His love is shown to be a deep one, since he accepts Kim, even though she is a Witch, and is determined to make a place for her in the world. Although usually appearing as a studious person, when out of doors in battle, he displays the fierce determination and ferocity of a warrior.

The Wolf Man with the Demon Eye, better known by his alias, Free, is a Werewolf and the last of the Immortal Clan and was imprisoned for stealing Maba's left eye. After being freed by Eruka Frog from Medusa Gorgon's instruction, he renames himself in honor of his freedom and joins her group, and acts as one of her operatives until her death. Despite his impressive power and viciousness in combat, Free is silly and reasonably comedic in his thoughts and actions. Free is also reasonably foolish and even he acknowledges it. However, he has shown that he is capable of being cunning. He also has been shown to have an incredibly bad sense of direction. Free, overall, does not seem to like it when others draw attention to his mistakes. He takes pleasure in actions against DWMA or enemies of Medusa, noticeably smiling when he is responsible for any kind of successful action against either force. When he feels as if he is in debt to someone, Free always likes to repay the person to whom he believes he is in debt.

Blair is a cat witch who was once mistaken for a genuine witch by Maka and Soul. She later would take residence at Maka and Soul's Apartment and works as an employee at Chupa♡Cabra's. She also occasionally works alongside the DWMA, Maka, and Soul on their various quests. Blair is very good at understanding other people and even showing kindness to others who are troubled. Though she is a cat, she is not mean at all, though she can act overly friendly to Soul. She is always looking for some fun, whether it is harmless or not. Playful and fun-loving, she is quite an affable person. She is well endowed, which is used when she flirts with Soul, usually by appearing out of her cat form in little to no clothing. Blair has no shame in exposing her naked body in the presence of males. This is most likely partly because, in her cat form, she is always naked, regardless of whether she has fur covering her body or not.

Mifune, known by the epithet "God of the Sword", is an infamous samurai and bodyguard who acts as a guardian to the little witch, Angela Leon. He is later blackmailed into the service of Arachnophobia by its head, Arachne Gorgon. Often stoic in nature and staunch in attitude, Mifune tends to be somewhat quiet in situations that do not directly involve him and remains mostly serious as well as being straightforward, especially toward those he would consider a threat. In addition, he often swung his sword in defense of other children, possessing a great level of compassion and care for those he consider young. In battle, he is analytical, seeing slight movements and small details and immediately noting them, whether it be out loud or within the confines of his thoughts. He's also not above calling out other individuals on negative traits. Being a strong follower of the Path of a Warrior, he is willing to give respect to his opponents no matter the age, if they are also capable of fighting with their all, as fellow followers of the Path of a Warrior. Despite his honorable and strong belief in the Path of a Warrior, Mifune himself is also not infallible. Mifune seems to previously possess little regard for ordinary human life, having a history of being a part of various criminal organizations and crime families. Early on, the reasons for his alliance with them were unknown and are implied to have led him to be placed on Shinigami's List. After becoming Angela's guardian and bodyguard, however, he abandoned his previous mindset and seems to have more regard for human life, particularly that of children. He only allows himself to be employed by an organization like Arachnophobia when they leverage their ability to protect Angela.
