Project Overview

Hey everyone! I got a voice-acting opportunity for y'all!

So I'm working on getting the last 40 seconds of my script "Snowflakes: The Homecoming Dance" animated by my talented animator Juliane Martin who has experience working for Disney Television Animation. And now I'm at the stage where I want to cast voice actors for my two characters in this scene.

I want as professional quality sound as possible so please no background noise.

  • Update on project

    Hi guys!

    I hope things have been going well for you all. For those who may still be keeping tabs on this project, the animation is still in the works. My wonderful animator, Juliane, has sent me a rough animatic of Owen's movements, so progress is being made.

    She is, however, very swamped with work as she is a working professional and also a teacher of animation, so she can only work on this animation during her free time, which is quite limited. This has really opened my eyes to how animation works, as we always see the finished project but never the backbreaking labor that goes into making moving drawings. And for one person, it demands a LOT!

    I give her a lot of thanks and support for her work and continued loyalty on this project, as well as my actors Hayden and Autumn for their excellent voice work of my characters Owen and Shannon. These two characters are very near and dear to me, so I take special care in how they are presented to the world. So yeah, the animation is taking a long time, but that's the reality of the medium, and also doing things at the indie level. But I'm in this for the long haul, and so is Juliane. Best believe when the animation is made, I'll make an update for those who are still getting notified about this project, as I really apreciate the support and interest in my project. And I hope to have more made in the future when this is complete.

  • AUDITIONS ARE CLOSED THANK YOU ALL!

    Hi everyone!

    Thank you all so much again for taking the time to audition for my project. This project has been a complete labor of love. From writing the script, finding and paying my animator, Juliane, and listening to your auditions. My characters are very dear to me and have been with me since college. I've been through some rough times, and my characters Owen and Shannon and their world have been my way of getting through it. So, I took special care and consideration in making my decision to cast actors for them. For anyone who didn't get cast, if you have any questions or want more in-depth feedback on your performance in your audition, please don't hesitate to message me privately. Again, I sincerely appreciate you all for auditioning, and as a fellow actor, I know how difficult it is to get work. If I could, I would cast everyone, but that's simply not realistic. I do hope that you all would still want to see the finished product when it's complete. If this page still notifies you when I update it, I could make an update with the YouTube link to the finished product for you all to see it. It won't be for a long while though, as one thing I learned is that animating is a LONG process, and while studios have hundreds of animators working on projects, my animator, Juliane, is completely solo, which is why this animation is only 40 seconds. And even then, the animation may not be finished till maybe next year as she's a working professional. But to anyone who wants to work with me one day, don't fret! This won't be my only project. I have several scripts planned, and I do plan on investing in future small animations of those scripts taking place in my Snowflakes universe. My next completed script is when my characters Owen and Shannon were little kids. So I'll need to do casting again for them. But one project at a time. So, there will be other opportunities for those who didn't get cast this time around, or those who are now just seeing this page and missed out. Sorry!

  • A message to auditionees

    Hi everyone!

    I just wanted to take a moment to thank every one of you who has taken the time to audition and those who plan to audition for my project. This project is a complete labor of love as these characters have been with me since my days in college. But it was only recently that I finally took the plunge to write a story for them. And at the encouragement of a friend to search for an animator, I was very fortunate to cross paths with my animator Juliane who was so kind enough to work with me and get some of my script animated.

    For anyone who may be wondering why only 40 seconds, it's simply because animation is a very time-consuming and costly medium so animating my whole script would simply be too expensive. So we agreed upon animating the last 40 seconds, and the last 40 seconds is a pivotal moment in Owen and Shannon's relationship, as they want to go together to the dance, but Shannon says yes to another guy named Sal due to her sympathy for him, and Owen being the softy he is couldn't bring himself to speak up. But after the dance and the drama that happened with Sal, Owen, and Shannon share a heartfelt conversation and intimate moment. If there's ever a moment in my script I want to see animated, it's this moment.

    All of you have been so talented and sweet that it's going to be a difficult decision to make when I get to casting. Also, I am holding auditions for this project outside of CastingCallClub so I may cast an actor outside of this site so do be aware.

    But also know that just because I didn't cast you, it's NOT because you're not talented or have a bad voice, quite the opposite, nor anything personal whatsoever, but I'm simply looking for the right fit for each role and I have to make a decision that I'm happy with long term, as I plan on using my casted actors as my go-to whenever I decide to have something animated with them again, they're like my Mickey and Minnie you could say. But I will keep note of every person I have auditioned, as I might reach out to some of you for a different role I feel you may be a good fit for in a future project. As a fellow actor myself, I know the struggle all too well of finding work so best believe I'm only doing what's best for my project. I wish all of you luck in your journeys and I know you all will be great in whatever you do get cast in if you don't get cast in this. I want all of us to make it.
