Project Overview
Plot Synopsis:
Realm Jumper is the story of a boy named Chase, who falls through a Rip in spacetime and ends up in a pocket dimension in the multiverse called the Academy.
After the events of season one (currently releasing), Chase and his friends have a new set of challenges, as well as a new group of faces to get acquainted with. Things may have been resolved to a degree with Charlie, but all the questions still weren't answered, and if the Academy and its residents are going to continue working together, they need to get to the bottom of exactly why things are the way that they are, and who is still - after all this time - keeping secrets from them.

About the Project:
Realm Jumper is a dramatic-comedy story about characters from across the multiverse learning about each other and their pasts, while mastering their abilities and dealing with threats to their safety. The show focuses on found family, redemption arcs, and themes of deconstructing and finding new twists on common character tropes. The show's genre leans more towards comedy, but does have intense scenes dealing with trauma and violence.
This series is a visual podcast consisting of voice acting over still art frames, worked on episode by episode in a pipeline. Deadlines for any assignment are typically 3-4 weeks.
There are three seasons to the series, with potential for additional bonus content. Please keep this in mind when auditioning.
Please also be aware of the fact that this show involves characters overcoming their past traumas, so the show will cover some dark or stressful content that some may find uncomfortable. If you have any specific questions about these content warnings or others, please message me privately and I will gladly elaborate in order to make you feel more at ease.
About the Casting Call:
This casting call is for all the reoccurring characters who will need voices in season two. At this time, there is not a planned casting call for season three.
For the auditions, please do 1-3 takes of the lines in ABCABC format UNLESS THERE IS A SPECIAL NOTE. Please keep that in mind and read the character descriptions thoroughly.
Please do not submit an audition when you are not at your best. The casting call window is long enough that you can choose to record whenever you and your equipment are at their best.
Be aware that the character's genders are listed in their role info, but you are allowed to audition for any role regardless of your own identity. I suggest not turning on the gender filter in order to see all the roles your voice may fit. I will be choosing voice actors based on how much you embody the character, not based on if your identity matches theirs.
The casting call closes on May 19th at midnight EST. That's end of the day Sunday.
Additional Information:
There are sections here for artists, and both audio and video editors. These positions will not be cast according to CCC, but I will potentially reach out to one or more people who apply for these positions. It will not hurt or help your voice actor audition if you apply for these other positions, but I still highly encourage you to do so!
Discord is a requirement, as I will primarily communicate through a cast and crew server. If you do not have discord, please let me know.
If you are cast, I will send you a message on CCC to confirm and to coordinate sending you the link to the discord server. If you do not respond within one day, I will send a follow up message. If you do not respond within three days, you may forfeit the role.

SPECIAL NOTE: Due to life changes, starting in season two, Luther will need a new voice! Since this is a recast, Luther's new voice should sound similar to his original voice. As both the teacher and dad of the group, Luther went though a lot in season one. He's now attempting to readjust to this new normal, while still protecting the students that care so much about him. His voice is very kind and leans on the low tenor side. He's not old, but he's older than the main characters and should sound like it.
Luther may be struggling to figure out how he feels about the changes at the Academy and his relationships with the people within, but he still puts them first no matter what. The most important thing to him has always been making sure that his students, friends, and family are safe and comfortable. With more changes on the way, he's a bit overwhelmed, but trying to make it as easy on everyone as possible.
(Polite but nervous) Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Luther Williams, one of the teachers here. Now what seems to be the problem?
(Happy and proud) Hey, I'm really glad it's all working out. I know you were worried, but I never doubted you for a second. You've got a good head on your shoulders.
(Furious) Excuse me. I don't know you, but I know who you are. So I'm going to need you to take several steps back before we have the conversation you're asking for.

Jen is one of the Academy's leaders and a brilliant scientist. After the events of season one, she is still learning to process her emotions in a healthier way, but she is determined to not let her past consume her life. Her voice is deadpan at times, but she's getting better at being more emotional and kind.
While season one focused on her arc quite a bit, Jen still has much to do. She's moving on as best she can and is trying to put her skills and studies to helping the people around her, just as they helped her. Attempting to build new relationships is difficult, but Jen is striving for it.
(Confident and informative) Well, first of all, I work in science, not magic. But, yes, magic is... sometimes the same thing, depending on who you ask.
(Nervous) No, of course I didn't take it! Do you really think I'd do something like that? ...Don't answer that.
(Trying to be comforting) Listen, you guys were there for me. I think it's only fair that I do the same for you. Besides, isn't that what friends are for?

Princess Izabel is a young woman from the magical sci-fi kingdom known as The Coast. Very confident in her magic and even more in her duties, she strives to protect the multiverse from any kind of threats. Best case scenario, she comes off as in charge and confident. Worst case scenario, she comes off as haughty and stubborn. Her voice should always carry an air of importance - like she's never doubting the words she's saying.
Izzy's stubbornness can put her at odds with people. She doesn't hold ill will against the people of the Academy, but if they get in her way, then there's going to be an issue. She does believe that she's of higher authority than the people there, but she wants to be respectful and not disrupt their way of life... as long as they agree with her mission.
(Proud and vain) I understand your confusion, but I assure you that you are safe now. I'm here to fix the disgusting nonsense you all have been stuck with. I'm sure you've heard of The Coast?
(Deadpan; judgmental) Of course I have fun. I'm doing my dream job. What more could I possibly want?
(Angry) Stop it! You clearly have no regard for the way things should be! I did what they asked and let you speak. Now you come with me.

Fleeing from their past, Quinn is a magic-field cyborg that finds refuge at the Academy. They're edgy, they know it, and they embrace it! Quinn just wants to be left alone to be their own person. Their voice is very open to interpretation from a tone perspective, but their snarky attitude is a must have!
Quinn's raw magical power and their knowledge of things bigger than the Academy keeps them involved with what's going on. Their impulse control may be lacking, but Quinn doesn't let themselves rush into things unprepared if they can help it. They have trust issues and a whole lot of baggage, but the Academy is their home now and they're prepared to defend it.
("Cool Guy" dismissive) Yeah, okay. I'm sure you'll see me around, but I'm just gonna chill. I'm not gonna do anything crazy.
(Teasing conversation) You're acting like you have a say in this. Aren't I the one with the key to the apartment? If you let me do this, I'll watch a movie with you later tonight. Promise.
(Annoyed) Yes, I hope that answered your questions - can I go now? I tried to be subtle about it. Can I go?

O.W.E.N. is Quinn's AI companion. Created to keep Quinn out of trouble, O.W.E.N. takes their job very seriously, but also seeks a genuine friendship with Quinn. O.W.E.N.'s voice is very up to interpretation, but they should sound friendly, helpful, and kind at base.
As they are quite literally Quinn's impulse control - among other things - O.W.E.N. is afraid of change and always wants what's best for Quinn's safety. O.W.E.N. will choose the easy, safe route over what Quinn may want if they feel it's the more "appropriate" action to take.
(Friendly) Hello! It's lovely and fantastic to meet you! Don't mind them - they're just a little shy!
(Informative) There's all different kinds of magic out there. Typically they're easy to learn, but some are difficult to master.
(Concerned) We've been gone for too long! I know this was important to you, but this little detour is starting to become more trouble than it's worth!

Henri is a fourteen year old gargoyle who has lived at the Academy for most of his life, and has found a happy life and family there in Cassie and Claire. His voice is young, but doesn't have to sound like a child. He's a relaxed, kind teenager with a quick wit.
Despite all the important things happening at the Academy at all times, Henri would like to stay uninvolved. He knows that there's big changes happening, and he doesn't particularly want to be involved. Unfortunately for him, other people at the Academy are insistent on keeping him in the loop about the major events, and Henri has given up on trying to dissuade them.
(Tired, but relieved) I'm okay, really. But I'm probably gonna crash as soon as I hit the bed. It's just been a long week.
(Enjoying himself) Great job, you guys! That was really fun! I wasn't sure if I was going to come at all, but I'm genuinely glad I did.
(Overly sarcastic) No, you'd never miss someone trying to give you a hint. No one would ever be able to pull a fast one on you, even if they wanted to.

Eris marches to the beat of their own drum, and doesn't care what anyone says about it. Their voice has no gender currently assigned to it - they can sound masculine, feminine, or androgynous. They must sound like they are having an absolute blast saying every line. This is the most over the top voice the show will allow.
Doing whatever he wants and being an agent of chaos is all Eris has ever done. They run their life by whatever they think is funniest in the moment, and if that bothers other people, well maybe they should learn to relax. But Eris isn't dumb. They're incredibly intelligent if you care to look past the silly exterior.
(Excited) Oh it's been so long since we've seen each other! You haven't changed a bit - it's only a little disappointing. If it works for you, then it works! Haha!
(Judgy) If you roll your eyes any more, they might not ever stop! Have you considered taking a chill pill? I hear they're all the rage with the kids.
(Silly ominous) Come on over. Take my hand. Let's go skip off into the sunset together like they always do.

Apollo has a very specific goal, and he's going to achieve it. This may put it at odds with the other residents of the Academy, but Apollo doesn't mind as long as he is allowed to continue working. While his voice is not deadpan, it's very calm and collected. It speaks in a confident manner and is very charismatic when he wants to be.
Much preferring to be a leader than a follower, Apollo always wants to strive toward making things better. He wants everything neat and in order, and while he doesn't always play well with others, he understands that having people who care about you is important. It wants to make sure everyone is safe and cared for, and he will help others reach their goals just as they help him.
(Observant) You've been very busy today. I'm surprised how much work you were able to get done, even with all the running about and distractions.
(Talking business) I appreciate the opportunity. I know this is very hard for you, so I'll make sure it doesn't go to waste.
(Greatly disappointed) Somehow, I doubt that you are taking this as seriously as I am. Do I need to remind you what is at stake?

A very small child, Deedee is very bouncy and excited to meet new friends. Their voice should sound child-like, but not overly young. There is no preference for masculine, feminine, or androgynous voices.
Deedee may be small and incredibly interested in childish things like playing tag and making flower crowns, but he's wise beyond her years and knows when to pull back on being silly and actually get down to work. The type of kid to ask about what happens after death. They value family very highly and assume that anyone under the age of eighteen is her friend. He's got the right intentions, and just wishes adults were as open minded as kids.
(Interrupting conversation) Can we play? Sorry, I know you were saying something, but can we talk while we play?
(Pleased) There you go! This should work just fine! This is where I gotta go, so good luck or whatever it is you say where you're from! I'm sure you'll do great!
(Hauntingly sad) I don't like it when they promise. Their promises aren't like the ones we do. Theirs are tricky - they use tricky words to make sure they don't actually have to promise anything.

An older gentleman, Tim has seen far too much time go by. He is rather calm, and easily amused. His voice is that of an older man, but should sound almost grandfatherly. He's a kind, older voice that you can rely on to talk to.
Tim lives up to his grandfatherly appearance. He enjoys feeding the birds and supporting the young people who want to do good in the world. He has a soft spot for children, and is more of a listener than a talker. He'd like to help out as much as he can, but he also knows he needs to take a step back and stay out of it.
(Poking fun) Hear what? I heard nothing. I'm just here feeding my birds. I didn't hear anything about your youthful angst.
(Serious but comforting) This is something that I can't help you with, as much as I'd like to. You're young, and smart, and I have faith in you.
(Authoritative) I will not allow it. You know as well as I that they are responsible, and that this is unfair to them, but you must let them figure it out for themselves.
What This Position Contains:
Realm Jumper has a team of artists that work together to create art for each episode. The art will be still images that enhance each scene. The amount of art per episode fluctuates, but each artist is able to choose their workload per episode.
Sign-ups are sent out per episode - containing prompts for art is needed for that episode. Artists will select which piece(s) they have preference towards, and the Art Director then assigns pieces based on preference and workload. The artist gets approval for their sketch, and then they have until the deadline to work at their own pace and finish the art. Deadlines are typically around four weeks per episode.
