Project Overview
Randal's Friends
is a webcomic written, illustrated, and produced by CaptainHowdie, following a nice young man (and eldritch abomination) by the name of Randal and his numerous adventures to find friends.
Project Information:
- We will be posting each LUCID installment in full on its own on YouTube.
- There will be an original ost written by the wonderful medicine_seller!
- The project is backed by the creator of the webcomic CaptainHowdie themself.
Audition Requirements:
- Must have Discord, and be active on it as well
- Be alright with explicit language and issues involving body horror and gore (preferably be 18+)
- Meet given deadlines
- Have good mic quality (this is a sort of big 'duh')
- Must be cooperative and understanding
- Take 2-3 takes per line.

A young man who likes doing things no matter how pointless they are. Usually wears his standard clothing of black clothes with white collar (it's a white shirt underneath) and buttons (even while sleeping) and gloves. Can get very attached to different people and friends, usually with the receiving end wanting nothing to do with him. However, the friendships never seem to last long and are back to being seen with just his dolls besides the family he lives with (Same thing with some certain dolls never being seen again).
He also tends to distort the truth and what's real from what's not, since he enjoys causing chaos, so even these words might be distorted.
For Randal, we would appreciate that the auditionee had a good sense of dynamics and improv. Randal's voice would change up quite a bit, so it'd be nice to have different voices or takes per line to give something for us to work with.

Luther is someone who appears to be a young man and is supposedly Randal's brother. He's always working hard to make sure everyone is getting enough sleep and liquid intake. He has some pets like the catmen, Nyon and Nyen respectively, Nana the snake and more past present future and etcetera and etcetera. He loves everyone very much.
As for Luther, we'd prefer him to have a sort of monotone voice. It would be nice to have a German accent as well, but that's up for the auditioner to decide. He does speak German on occassion.

Nyon is a catman of Russian origin and lives directly under Luther's rule. Because of being directly connected to Luther for so long (and wide), his revival speed is extremely fast. To compare to Randal's even, where if he isn't in his coffin could take a very long duration to recover his form (even then not everything might come back at once), it is impressive in a way.
One of the few members of the main house who is on the low spectrum for danger potential. He would most likely try to avoid other humans and non-humans instead of directly confronting them altogether due to being more soft-spoken and shy.
Despite that, and despite appearing quite timid and uneasy of things usually, he would do anything for his master.
Aside from showing up often, Nyon only says a few things here and there aside from the given cat noises and laughs. As goes for Nyen, a Russian accent is optional since they were of Russian descent at one point. Just do what you feel would be cool and would make him stand out.

Yes sir.Just record a few weird cat-human sounds for different emotions. Like curiosity, concern, fear, etc.
A person who thinks of himself quite highly because of his distance from being like a human and gaining traits from Luther. He was a lot different before joining Luther's presence when he was just a normal human and a different person altogether. Nyen hasn't been as long in the house as Nyon.
Usually seen wearing a black top of some kind. The most common one in sight is one that says NEVADA on it. He claims it was from his favorite victim so he likes to wear it a lot, but Luther found it for him at a second-hand store.
We would prefer Nyen to have a more deep and gruff voice as opposed to Nyon and his gentle reserved nature. Again, since both of them are of Russian descent the Russian accent is optional. Nyen does have significantly more lines than Nyon, and speaks Russian frequently towards the end of Vol 1.

(Strained; scratching at the walls)
I'm so close. Body... is tingling. All the senses in my body are telling me... the future... is becoming one with the present... khehehe.(Threatening) Look here.
This is how they determine everyone's place in the house. See? You've already been added... dead last.
Now, as for me... I'm at the top of the pets of the household. Which means you're in my territory.
You listen to everything I say, and don't do anything that upsets me... unless you want to fight me for my place.

[ Ty na moyey territorii. ]

Sebastian was adopted by Luther as a human pet for Randal. Nobody knows exactly what's up with him, but he just wants to get out.
There really is no specific preference for Sebastian other than him being like a Morty rip-off. Really weak and frightened - and pretty much the only normal "human" in the series.

(Anxiously; as if afraid of messing up) "Powr" has gone up by 15%, and "Chia" by 120%.
The main character of LUCID 17 - 21.
Present Day Problem Takeuchi Robert is the self-named ratman introduced partway through the webcomic. Not even himself knows how he came to be, and his brethren are just as confused. A ratman who forms behind the walls of the ivory house. In one case it was deducted that an error occured and he was formed into 5 different bodies.
Despite being one of the ratmen, we would suggest going for a stronger stereotypical protag-ish voice for Takeuchi. Or do whatever you think would fit, it depends on the line references below.

(Concerned) What did you mean by "I shouldn't be born yet"?Look. He's not as tough as he seems... still. It's impossible with just one body.
But. He can't focus on all of us. Just have to keep consuming... until there's nothing at all left.(Groans) If only I didn't get hungry... how annoying.

(Panicked) We didn't know what to do and you wouldn't wake up, so I made myself in charge!
(Excited) Let's take his eyes and eat what I - we - can, and get back to plan more!
(Under his breath) He's so strong..This is where you belong, you monster. We don't know how you keep coming back, but we've got you now!

[Over an intercom, drivetru] (Hesitantly; forcefully enthusiastic) We-Welcome! Nothing is frozen, everything is fresh! For you, the customer! You're why we live and they die!
[In Nyen's manga] (Over Dramatically) Even though my alter and you are together... I also still like you..!
[After seeing Randal] (Anxiously) I-I thought he had died or something...!
Although we have 2-3 editors with us at the moment, it wouldn't hurt to add another under our belt to ensure we get them done as quickly as possible!
