Project AETHER: First Contact
Project Overview
Project AETHER: First Contact is an upcoming twin stick shooter set in space. We are looking for a talented voice cast to bring colour to the missions and help the player's sense of immersion, as well as to reinforce the importance of the missions they are undertaking. We expect talent to be able to record their own audio, as well as deliver high quality sound files that are clean and ready to use.

Tess is a young hotshot pilot, who was chosen as the pilot for this program for simply being the best at what she does. She has a lot of confidence in her own abilities, and knows she has the skills to back them up. She has an understated sense of humour, generally enjoying some light teasing. However, when the situation is dire, her mood shifts to completely serious and laser-focused.
Tess has about 160 lines.
[Excited] Yuuto! I’m starting to really enjoy getting called in here. What do you have for me today?
[Annoyed shout] Defense grid, check your fire! That’s a friendly you’re targeting!
[Confident] This is good intel. Really good. Yuuto, General, you can count on me.
Michael is the comms operator on Project AETHER. He spends his time watching the readouts from Tess's mech to make sure it's looking good. He typically speaks casually, but is careful around the general so she won't get on his case. He has a good working relationship with Tess, and is frequently worried for her safety.
Michael has about 140 lines.
[Concerned] You’re running out of time, Tess. I really hope you have a plan to stop this thing.
[Relieved] Target down. It looks like the storm is dissipating. And even better, the scanner seems to be intact.
[Focused] The entry point is just ahead. It should be a straight shot to the reactor once you’re in.
Yuuto Mori is a middle aged man whose enthusiasm is a boundless source of energy. He is the chief engineer on the AETHER program, and handles a lot of the technical information. He gets excited easily and tends to ramble on if nobody stops him. Yuuto can be a bit oblivious to everyone else in the room once he gets started on science or engineering. When he's thinking something through, he tends to not notice how it sounds to anyone listening, and cares more about how it sounds in his head. A lot of his explanations are streams of consciousness, thinking out loud type things. The main thing is that the concept of new technology is very exciting for him, and really makes him come alive.
Yuuto has about 75 lines.
[Proud and excited] Tess! You’re not going to believe what I’ve just finished working on.
[Explanatory] The standard ships showed nothing we haven’t already seen. Basic computing, radiothermic power source...
[Interested] The assault ship is another story. If we compare the new ship to the ones we’ve already seen, alloy composition is the same, but its computing matrix is like nothing I’ve ever seen before.
[A little devious] I had a brilliant idea. What if, instead of simply overcharging the thrusters to avoid damage, we overcharged them more and made the mech the weapon?
General Burns is an experienced general who has had an extremely successful military career. She is the person in charge of the AETHER program. She issues the orders and picks the targets. She is stern and has little tolerance for frivolity, but cares about her staff, even when she doesn't say it. She also knows that it is important to let off steam, and will sometimes allow her team a bit more leeway should it be necessary.
General Burns has about 150 lines.
[Serious] The enemy tipped their hand with their last offensive. They were banking quite a lot on that assault. We now have them in a very vulnerable position.
[Exasperated] I could hear the fire alarms from my quarters. Instead of destroying any more of our hardware, I’m having it sent to the computing facility.
[Proud] That’s one less crisis to deal with. Captain Martins, your work has been nothing short of exemplary.
