Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Turnabout Goodbyes Final Trial Dub)
Project Overview
I'm going to need voice actors for the final trial of the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Every character in the trial is available, however, Phoenix has been taken by me. I apologize. I require you to have a decent sounding microphone with no background noise. It doesn't have to be perfect, but the quality of it shouldn't be distracting, either. This project will be up for one month, but if for whatever reason that's not enough time, I'll put it up again, just in case. Make sure to have a Discord as that's the way we're going to communicate. There will be certain things I keep out of this description so that only the actors know. You can private message me your Discord name on here once you get the part. The video will be uploaded here when it's finished: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbQ4Cu6BD7zV2YmsAR0174Q.

Maya Fey is Phoenix Wright's assistant and plays a lead role in the trial. She's a spirit medium who's pretty perky and cheerful, unless she has a reason to be serious, like in a trial. She should have a medium to high voice but I prefer it to be on the higher side.
# (Authoritative)
"Anyhow, today's the last day of the trial! Good luck, Nick!"
# (Angry)
"He's going to tell them he was the murder in the DL-6 Incident!"
# (Surprised)
"S-s-sorry, Nick!"
Miles Edgeworth is Phoenix's friend, although that's debatable, and again, plays a lead role in this case. He should have a deep voice and I expect him to have a British accent, as that's what his few lines in the game lead me to believe, and it compliments his way of speaking, though I'm not opposed to him having a different accent if I thought it still works.
# (Angry)
"Wh-wh-what are you doing!?"
# (Determined)
"The culprit...is me!"
# (Determined)
"OBJECTION!"
Gumshoe is the lead homicide detective at the precinct, and plays a supporting role in this trial. He's pretty happy and cheerful most of the time, as well as being a buffoon, and gets really determined when something excites him. He should have a deep, friendly sounding voice, unless he gets angry. Then it's a deep, angry sounding voice.
(Determined)
"Have no fear! As promised, I've captured out runaway caretaker!"
(Joyful)
"Actually, after that shock I got on the way in, I feel pretty good,"
(Angry)
"This is crazy! Just crazy!"
Manfred von Karma is a gifted prosecutor and enemy to Phoenix Wright, as well as a leading role in this case. He should have a deep, arrogant, as well as intimidating sounding voice. I would prefer his accent to be British, like Edgeworth, but I'm open to anything that fits.
(Determined)
"We must hear this new statement!"
(Cocky)
"It's obvious. We hold a trial. Right here. Right now."
(Determined)
"OBJECTION!"
Judge is, well, a judge, and again, a leading role in this trial. He's easily swayed by other people's opinions and often surprised when weird things happen in court, but authoritative at the beginning of trials and when the defense does not make a good argument. He should have a medium to deep sounding voice which shows signs of his age.
# (Authoritative)
"We have reached the final day of out proceedings in this trial."
# (Surprised)
"Very well, Mr. von Karma. Your opening statement."
# (Thinking)
"Hmm. Indeed."
Yanni Yogi is an ex-bailiff in the very court this dub takes place in, and pretends to lose his memory to get away with the crime in question. His real personality rarely shows, but his fake one is confused, delusional, and as I've stated before, stoned. He should have a medium to deep sounding voice and always sound like he's in his own world, or a bit closer to home, high as a kite.
(Disingenuous)
"I, uh, went to buy some food for Polly, see..."
(Stoned Sounding)
"I kind of got lost, you see."
(Also Stoned Sounding)
"Er... I mean, I'd need one of those "motive" things, right? And I don't got one."
Polly is Yanni Yogi's parrot, and the second witness in this particular trial. Polly is a parrot, she sounds like a parrot, and that's really all I can say about her. Look up a a stereotypical parrot voice and that's basically what she should sound like.
"Hello! Hello! *squawk*"
"1228... 1228..."
"Don't forget DL-6! *squawk*"
Grossberg is a defense attorney, and was Phoenix's mentor's mentor. He plays a minor role in this trial, only as an event that Phoenix recalls. He should have a deep, booming voice which shows signs of his age.
"It must have been quite a shock for von Karma."
"He took a vacation for several months after that, you see."
"Yes. An unusual event for the man."
Lotta Hart is a photographer, and that's about all I can say, because she switches jobs whenever one doesn't work out for her. She's a pretty cheerful person, but also kind of greedy, since she lives for the next big "scoop". She should have a medium to high voice, and I can't stress this enough, she must have a southern accent.
(Joyful)
"Just look at you! You wouldn't stick your hand in a cookie jar even if no one was there!"
(Nervous)
"Yeah, well, let bygones be bygones, eh?"
(Excited)
"You know that picture I took of everyone? Well, just behind them, there's a ghost!"
Larry Butz is a hot dog vendor, Phoenix's friend, and plays a minor role in this case. He's also a pretty cheerful guy, but this comes with him being an idiot, and at time's being kind of jerk to people, although it's always played for laughs. He should have a medium sounding voice, though deep might work, and he should pretty much just sound like your average guy overall.
(Overly Dramatic)
"It's over, Nick! My life is over!"
(Shaky and Overly Dramtic)
"It's Kiyance! Sh-she's goin' to live in Paris! Paris, Nick!"
(Friendly)
"Yo, Edgey! There you are!"
Winston Payne is a veteran prosecutor who has a hard time coming up with good arguments, and plays a very minor role in this trial, only appearing in the credits. He's sort of a dorky, yet arrogant guy, and gets really nervous whenever he's proven wrong. He should have a guy, sort of weasel sounding voice. In other words, he should sound like a dork.
Note: He has so few lines in this trial that I've actually included all he has to say, so if you do a good enough job reading them here, I'll probably rip the audio and use them.
(Somewhat Arrogant)
"Who? Wright? Yeah, I remember him."
(Recalling)
"I hear he's been busy lately."
(Arrogant)
"You know, not to ring my own bell, but I sort of taught him everything he knows. I'm sure he's grateful."
Bellboy is, well, a bellboy, and again, plays a minor role in this trial. He's a very proper, elegant, and well spoken man, though he has a lot of creepy quirks about him that make Phoenix think he's somewhat insane. He should, as stated, have a proper, elegant, and well spoken voice. A British accent is preferred, but I'm open to a different accent if it works, but I'm not sure how it could.
Like Payne, Bellboy has so few lines that the ones I've included here cover everything he says, so if you do a good enough job in your audition, I'll probably just use those.
(Thinking)
"Phoenix Wright,,,? Hmm..."
(Excited)
"Ah! The defense attorney for whom I wrote the affidavit for, yes!"
(First line, Happy, Second line, Mysterious)
"Oh, you should know, I've taken over management of the Gatewater Hotel recently. Should you be in the area, please stop by..."
Wendy Oldbag was a former security guard at Global Studios, and plays a very minor role in the end of this trial. She's an annoying, old, crabby woman who can't keep with the times no matter how good the advancements may be. She should have a high to medium sounding voice which is reminiscent of an old lady you wish had a mute button.
You know the drill.
(Confused)
"Phoenix Wright...? He an actor?"
(Cocky)
"Well, I'm not buying it! You can't be a star with a name like "Phoenix"!"
(Sonic Speedy)
"Did you know that they're finally putting some of Hammer's old movies out on DVD in one of them box set thingies that you can buy now-a-days and all not that I know what a "DVD" or why they use three-letter words for just about everything these days how am I supposed to keep all straight anyhow, hmm?"
Will Powers is an actor, and is one of those roles which doesn't play a huge part which we call a minor role. He's hand of a bumbling guy, but very friendly, and wouldn't hurt anyone despite appearances. He should have sort of a gruff, deep voice reminiscent of a typical action hero.
You still know the drill.
(proud)
"I'm pleased to announce the Pink Princess is a hit!"
(sad)
"I sure owe that Mr. Wright a great deal. *sniff*"
(casual)
"Oh, and I'm keeping my face out of public eye until the show's over. I wouldn't want to ruin any kids' dreams, y'know."
Penny Nichols is an assistant at Global Studios, and, believe it or not, she's walking on air, and she's also a minor role. She has a rather plain personality. I don't mean that in a bad way, but she's probably one of the only normal people Phoenix and Maya encounter. She just acts like, a girl. Her voice should reflect that. She sounds like your average girl. Not to high or too deep. Just an average person.
Did I mention all of her lines are included here?
(recalling)
"Oh, I got a letter from Maya the other day."
(still recalling)
"It sounds like she caught a cold standing under a waterfall."
(informing)
"I wanted to visit, but didn't have time, so I sent her some Pink Princess trading cards. She says she can't buy them where she is. What kind of place is she living anyway?"
Cody Hackins is a second grader who plays a minor role in this trial. He's a pretty annoying, stubborn, and obsessive kid who loves the Steel Samurai to death, and the Pink Princess, which probably gets him bullied more at school than it's worth. He should have a medium or high pitched sounding voice that just screams the type of kid to get in trouble in school, on purpose.
Also, all his lines might be here, but hey, you never know.
(snappy)
"Wright? Who's that? You wanna talk? Let's talk Pink Princess! Alright!"
(mumbling)
"But... you know. I snuck into the studio the other day."
(surprised)
"And I saw her... the one inside the Pink Princess suit! Ugh! What a dog! It was kind of a shock for a boy of my tender age."
