This is a commercial visual novel that will be available on PC/Mac/Linux.
You will be required to sign an NDA and give us permission to use your voice in a commercial game.
General rule of thumb for line payment is 33 cents a line.
Images for the characters are concept art.
Payment:
Payment for the lines will be sent via paypal once all of the lines are completed. (Or half before, half after for larger payments/line counts.)
Before you decide to audition, please make sure you understand the rules.
Please use a quality mic! (no background noises, puffs, peaking, etc)
There is a possibility that you will be asked to voice the same character in future games containing the character.
Dependability and the ability to communicate is a huge plus.
Deadline for auditions: February 27th, 2018
Deadline for readings: If you are chosen for the role, all lines must be completed within 2 weeks of being given the script.

Voice and character description
Kiki
Age: Late 20s, early 30s
Estimated Lines: roughly 70 as script is undergoing rewrites
Description: "Streamer girl! Kiki" has a streaming persona that is the quintessential peppy perky pop idol persona. Behind the scenes she is aggressively annoyed with her non streamer life. She is plagued by her family's curse (which she is dutifully working on lifting), struggles to compete with this monstrosity popular Jill Count chick (who might be doing a live streaming special on HER ritual to lift the curse), and all together is getting tired of burning at both ends.
Desired voice: High to mid range. Valley girl accent for "Streamer Persona" with a lighter and more realistic regional accent for "Out of character". Please feel free to apply without an accent, too, as a bad accent will distract from even a great performance, and unless you are really familiar with the appropriate accent, it can easily be poor.
"Hiyo Girls and Gals, it's me, Streamer girl, Kiki! Live and ready to PLAY!" (For this, Kiki is essentially adopting a mixture of a pop idol and a magical girl for her streamer persona.)
"YOU!? You're the one messing with- GAAAH! -just give me a minute, the rage is making this hard to process." (Kiki is raging a bit after finding that it's Jill, whom she considers her rival, that is messing with her real world problems, namely trying to lift the curse. The anger is so intense she's practically manic (as in laughing))
“I'd suggest reigning in your familiar. I can deal with ghosts as easily as my gun can deal with… you…" (Deadly serious before slipping into awkward as she realizes her threat is so poorly worded as to become almost non threatening.)
Age: Late 20s.
Estimated Lines: 120
Description: A professional ghost hunter that enjoys his privacy and being mysterious, neither of which are accidents. Tyrone is discreet with his clients, to the point where some question his humanity (especially given his field of work) and intimately sincere with how dire and dark he will approach any situation. Between his ability and his unrivaled success in resolving otherworldly matters, he has developed a bit of a reputation.
Desired voice: Low/deep voice. Preferably with hint of inner city accent.
"The pact has been struck, and my service is yours." (In a sincere but almost excessively villainous voice as he plays the role of something summoned, not someone hired, when he is called to a job."
"Oh shit, I know you, I watched your entire playthrough of War of the Warlocks!" (This is Tyrone being Tyrone, not the character he plays when working, and getting a little excited over meeting someone he's a fan of.)
"There are worse things out there than me, but not many." (In a growling threatening voice as he speaks to someone he's angry at."
Tulip
Age: "16" - Died at the age of 16 many years ago
Estimated Lines: ~50
Description: The ghost of a girl that was bullied until she could no longer take it. She haunted her old house along with another far less sentient ghost until she was rescued by Tyrone the Ghost Hunter and began haunting him instead. She has a huge crush on him, which he doesn't like, but is too polite to flatly turn her away and thus they have been in an awkward limbo for almost two years.
Note: The 'crush on Tyrone' aspect of Tulip is a play on the trope of "Old but looks ridiculously young". Instead of everyone being totally okay with it, most of the characters find it weird, uncomfortable, or even creepy (Save for one who is projecting REAL hard). As such, there will be no teenage and adult romance, even if that's "Not Technically" what would be happening.
Desired voice: High to mid range. Generally excitable with moments of despairing terror. She's essentially still a teenager.
"Tyrone! Hey Tyrone! I can only talk through the little phone speaker, can you hear me?!" (Excitedly trying to say hello to Tyrone (who is pointedly ignoring her) after her spirit gets trapped in a smartphone)
"UGH! It's NOT FAIR! I'm twenty-SIX, not SIXTEEN. I'm NOT just some teenager!" (Spoken like a true teenager)
"I don't want to die again!" (While a common sentiment among ghosts, right here Tulip is crying out in REAL anger and defiance as she fights back against what is essentially someone trying to perma-kill her. While the scene is serious, a somewhat comical twist on this is okay too.)
Age: 45-65 years. Older range.
Estimated Lines: ~40
Description: The ghost of an american aristocrat from over 100 years ago who hid the fact that he was a serial killer through liberal application of his enormous wealth. He is now historically seen as a philanthropist and thus the sudden hauntings indicative of a ghost serial killer seem out of place to the investigators coming to his city. He needs to sound haughty and well spoken.
Desired voice: High, Medium or Low pitch. Well spoken with crisp annunciation and magnanimous tempo to his speech patterns.
"It's hard to believe I was alone in that house so long before the young lady found me." (Speaking wistfully as he monologues his back story)
"It's sooo good to be out and about again!" (Spoken creepily while equally creepily holding a ghost girl close to him and smelling her.)
"I will kill her, you know; I can wait. I'll recover, in time. I can't imagine a headless girl will have that luxury." (In a rage filled threatening hissing voice as he threatens someone he has hostage as a counter to someone threatening him.)
