Aaryanu is one of the player's characters of the story. She's incredibly strong, competent, and a good fighter. However, she does find herself in hi-jinks a lot & is prone to spontaneous & goofy moments, no thanks to her partner Prio, whom she loves dearly, though may not be comfortable to openly show.
She's in her early-mid 30s, and her actions & dialogue have been almost entirely chosen or written by her player.
UPDATED: Her player's description!
Aaryanu Elizara or just Aary (if you is a good friend) tends to come across as pretty chill on the outside but that is because she does a lot of her screaming internally. A competent fighter with a quiet confidence to her. Not a fan of feeling emotionally vulnerable (big no no) and finds it awkward to express anything other than salt. But for all her grumbles and awkwardness she tries her best and does care very deeply for the people that worm their way into her heart. So if you cross them, you're in trouble. Once she's set her mind on a task she is determined to see it through to the end. (When voicing her just think, what are you? A professional salt machine)
Accent is open! & Feel free to go with your gut on portraying her- don't be influenced by other auditions! :D
This character will definitely have future appearances!
*DEADLINE- 12th March 2020*
*Art by Veeny_draws!*
Interrogating a character, playing a 'good cop' role. Go as comedic with this as you like!
So I'm gonna go ahead and guess this isn't your inn. I also guess your name isn't Guldurr, Goldurr or Galdurr. Who knows, maybe you even lied about Grammy and Grampy and Doreen from a few fields over.
But here we are. It's just you and me big boy. I know your type, just out to take what others have made in the world; you didn't get the start you wanted in life. The middle child of 8 brothers and sisters, never seen or heard. Well, I see you, and I hear you. But you can't hurt others.
Tell me why you're here, and we can talk this out.
Aary is locked out by Prio as he goes in to fight alone. She goes from beating on the door in desperation to despair.
Update: Aary is sure Prio will die in the fight, and wanted to fight alongside him. She's putting her everything into trying to get in/ get him to come back.
PRIO!!
PRIO!! NO, COME BACK!!!
Prio.... come back... please....
Why... why would he FUCKING do that? After all we've been through, all the minutes, days, years we waited for this...?
We'll... just have to wait. Stick to the plan. Isn't- That's what he'll want us to do. Right?
Aary is trying to tell Prio that she loves him too, but being open about that is far from her comfort zone.
Update: Aary thought Prio was dead, and almost died herself. She's feeling broken by the whole experience, but is trying to hold it together best she can.Prio, you are amazing. You're kind and you're strong and you're funny. You just have this magnetism that pulls people to you. Seeing that memory just dug up all my doubts. You… could do better. You really could. I uh, I don’t really know what you're doing with me. I'd never hold it against you if you went elsewhere. I’d be sad because I er... L... you...Well, anyway, the view’s nice!…
Liam is the second player's character, though he features in the first player's story. Therefore, this role will be larger when we get to future stages of the project, & will be compensated as such ($10 for a lead appearance). His actions & dialogue have been almost entirely chosen or written by the player of this character.
For the first part, however, he's pretending to be a drunkard in order to escape the inn and maybe kill (& woo) some people in the process after finding new powers gained in his chapter of the story. His plan is foiled when Prio pretends to flirt with him (and this miraculously works), and has his powers removed.
Generally, his voice would likely be smoother (UPDATE: but not necessarily 'posh'),& reflect his cunning nature- he may even be putting on an accent for the first set of lines!
I'll leave his description to his creator!
Characteristics:
-thinks he is “the shit”
-is not “the shit”
-“I know just what to do”
-no you don’t, honey
-claims all his friends call him “Lie” rather than “Liam”
-does not actually have friends
-is very flirty but only when he wants something
-aromantic boi"
This character will definitely have future appearances, & will be paid accordingly (At the rate of $10 for a lead, etc.(though this may increase dependent on the length of the chapter))
*Art by the second player, Leah *
A wha..? Didju say a -hiccup- a duck? Doesn't sound very hygienic...
Those lousy 'actors' brought our troupe to destruction! Bleeding amateurs...
Therrrrre's a swan here too? Not hygienic at all..at all.. I'lllll sue 'em. Use the money to build a new troupe.. HA, they'll see...they'll all see..This dialogue is from some of Liam's playthrough, so won't be included in this first part.
Your assumption is correct. However, as someone who was once fuelled by vengeance myself just recently, I would like to suggest you find a different path. But.. I am grateful, so I shall listen to what you have to say.
Reclaim my fate...? You're going to stab me with that, aren't you?
Your heart jumps a little at the thought of completing this task for him, getting the blood of his enemy on your blade.
Thank you. I'll carry through this task...for you. Your voice will guide me, steadfast.*Effort & fight noises/ drunken babble*
Priogolas Altegrad, or Prio, is Aary's partner in crime, mercenary and bard extraordinaire (or so he'd tell you).
He's in his early 30s or so, and though he's a charming and charismatic bloke, he can be fairly jokey & goofy in his ways. He's also flirtatious, though his bond with Aary has always been intense for him, and he's forever loyal to her. Despite his somewhat shallow appearances, deep down he's incredibly caring and sensitive, and will do what he can to help people out.
His voice would likely be mid-low range, with a British or US accent, but we're open to interpretations!
Singing ability a plus, feel free to link any if you have some! :)
This character will definitely have future appearances!
Lovely to meet you. My name is Priogolas Altegrad- hair model, mercenary extraordinaire and legendary bard, but you may call me Prio. And thiiiis is my partner in crime, with whom I have an ongoing 'will they, won't they' chemistry- Aaryanu.
You're surprised to find a leg. A rather detached, bloody human leg.
FUCK ME!
Aary goes silent.
That's NOT what I meant and you know it.
Aary stares at Prio, raising an eyebrow judgmentally.
Yes well "FUCK ME" seemed apt to the shock of our surroundings. Not all of us can pull off the vast plethora of visible reactions the way you do.
Prio is prancing around, recreating one of Aary's drunken moments & quoting her. He does so with some sadness, as she denies remembering her confession of love.
"And LOOOOOOoooooooooooo........ we did cry, as the dragon tore your clothes asunder…
The gods did witness a sight indeed, one that rendered us suddenly freed... I leapt upon you in kind embrace, for ‘twas a secret love I hadn't faced-"He stops prancing and kneels down
"And now that we’re free like a pair o' dove, I declare to you..."
He lifts her chin with his hand
"My undying love."
He looks at her, before resigning and sitting back down, avoiding eye contact.
Roagjhie The Valient is a Legend in the world of the text adventure. He died many years ago, but is somewhat of a spiritual guide to Tethli and the others. He was a jolly large man, a sort of viking style, but was a fierce leader when he needed to be. An authoritative but warm voice would work for him well!
*Update:* He was an incredibly jolly man, from a faraway set of isles in the world. Most would consider him somewhat an obnoxious oaf on first meeting him, but the truth was he was an incredibly conscientious & loyal leader. His happiness and sense of humour (and riotous parties) would be disarming, and as a leader he was responsible, compassionate and truly cared for the wellbeing of his people. He carried himself with great confidence, even when his words wouldn't always seem as professional as he was.
This character will likely have future appearances!
Roagjhie is pronounced Roag (like road) gee (as in the letter),
Roagjhet is pronounced Roag (as above) jet (like the plane!)
Yoikennet is pronounced Yoi (like Coy) - Ken- et (like the end of net)
Noble Adventurer,
My name is Roagjhet Amurline, though you may know my name as Roagjhie the Valient. If you are reading this, likelihood is I died. Let's say in a tasteful, heroic manner. Helping a cat out of a tree, or donating too much food to the orphans, I don’t know. Shit, I didn't really think this far ahead....
But know, dear adventurer, that with you, you have one of the most loyal and incombustible companions the gods could gift you, I honestly envy the adventures you've had and will have forever.
I think Yoikhennet is aware of my parting soon, despite my best efforts to hide it. In our isles, we believe heroes go up to the stars, so I mean hopefully you'll see them looking out for me from time to time. If not, typical, that bastard!
*Your best hearty laugh!*
Liam's accomplice and version of the mysterious bard that 2 of our players encountered in their stories. However, Rowe turned out to be a lot different to Prio; she's been away from Liam for years after they used to work together, and she's now back to reap vengeance for some occurrences that went on back then. She's unstable, hellbent on vengeance and loving it. Think maniacal, but still somewhat in control apart from a couple of outbursts.
No age/ specific accent in mind for her at all.
She may possibly feature in future episodes!
*DEADLINE- 03/03/2020*
Liam's been captured by Rowe, who's about to torture them as punishment for events in the past. She's being playful with it, yet is still very intimidating. She's harboured a lot of hate for many years and is finally getting the chance to act on it.
Sarcastically
Oh! Oh how polite of you to ask.
She preens her weapon.
Well, turns out after we disbanded our sellsword ways, I was captured by, let's say, an unsavoury group. They had a little torture here, a little torture there, but sadly I didn't give them the information they wanted. Luckily, I helped one of their members forget to close my shackles of an evening.
She pauses, staring at Liam
Funny how vampire blood is trickier to get out of garments than human blood, eh?
She goes back to her weapon
Anyhow, couple o' weeks later I found a little sparrow who sang songs of the fang'ed few, and betrayal of the up close and personal kind. Naturally, I chased the bird, plucked a few feathers out to help it sing the whole song.
She feigns being upset
Sadly the little bird didn't make it.
She becomes more serious
Lucky for us though, she survived long enough to delve deeper into her stories.
A vision of her is haunting Liam.
Come now, don't struggle. This time, you're in my domain. You need not be frustrated. Or, maybe you should. You've lost. Don't you see?
She gets closer to Liam, & bends down to whisper in his ear. She's deadly serious
You are nothing. I was using you as soon as I met you.
Choking on her own blood after an unsuccessful fight with Liam. She could well die from the injuries.
Hah.. you didn't... fuckin know...? You're not-
She cries in pain as she's stabbed once again
Tethli is a mysterious character the group finds on their journey. She's seemingly fairly young, appears to be around 19, and often acts fairly naively and has a childlike nature, which reflects in her voice. Despite this, she has a fate and knowledge unknown to most and unrivalled in the world. She starts in the story fairly fragile, but quickly grows in confidence as she hangs out with Aary & Prio, whom she finds particularly interesting and entertaining.
Not entirely human, and a hint of an accent of any sorts would be amazing- I always pictured her with a soft Irish accent, but I'm open! Her voice would likely be mid-high & breathy.
Singing ability a plus, feel free to link any if you have some! :)
This character will definitely have future appearances!
And lastly.... believe me when I say the chances Prio had of being with a woman like you are far smaller than the chances of the moon falling on us right..... NOW!
See? Nothing. This man is a very fortunate man indeed to be with a lady of your ilk!
In the islands, when your town has lost a great hero to violence or tragedy, their close friends often retire after their favourite adventure, the pinnacle of the respect they show. So they have some fortune in the land above.
They don't make a big deal of it either, to preserve their dignity and strength until the last. Swan's been saving their leave for a while, waiting to find their favourite quest. A reunion seemed to be the ticket.
I understand you must have more questions, the answers to some I'm still seeking myself. Believe me, had I remembered all this when we met, had enough insight to tell you along the way... I would've done. Everything only fit perfectly into place with Swan's leaving.
Swan (as so 'aptly' named by the player), is a duck that Prio considers his best friend and companion. Though Swan is 'just' a duck that was initially included as a terrible pun & homage to old adventure games, they now hold powers from a mysterious past that one might not expect from a duck. This one's kinda a shot in the dark, but if you can quack, feel free to give it a go!
It's likely Swan will have future appearances, but whether we'll need more quacks or not, I don't know!
*tiny duck bard outfit optional!*
Once again, picture credits to player 1 of the game!
*Quacks, general duck noises*
*Negative emotion duck noises (e.g. angry, frustrated, confused, sarcastic)*
*Positive emotion duck noises (e.g. happy quacks, noises when they're pet, etc.)*
The first character we meet in the story! He's a bandit disguising himself as an innkeep. In this story route, he's pretending to be an innkeep to steal from people.
Vocally, he could well be putting on a voice for talking to the characters, or just using his regular bandit voice- this is fairly open to interpretation, so feel free to give it a shot! In this story, he keeps getting his undercover name wrong, so don't be alarmed if you see his name spelt multiple ways!
His current description is below, but again isn't a definite-
He’s a big, portly man, maybe 6’ 3 or so, with patchy, balding ginger hair that curls up into a little quiff, and large, bristly mutton chop sideburns. He looks like he could easily deal with any rough customers, but his rosy cheeks and pale olive complexion are clean, friendly and welcoming. Despite his size, his shirt looks sizes too big for him and drapes his large, pear shaped figure.
Y'arr, hallo thar traveler, how may ol' Gulguur halp you?
Well, see, it's a little embarrassing, but grammy is feelin a little low. She lost grampy but 7 sunrises past, and has been on me arse about movin out since.
Fing is, she ain't over ‘im. She accused the ol bastard of havin it about with Dorleen a field over.
So, ol Golguur's been finkin- maybe settlin grammy down'll get er off me arse, see?
*Effort/Fighting/Pain noises*
*Due to this character being in the Second incomplete chapter of the story, the payment shown is the minimum payment based on current amount of lines. This *may* increase depending on how the Chapter continues*
*We may also have an actor lined up for this character, but we'll keep these open in case of.*
Yan is one of the primary characters in the Second Chapter of the Text Adventure. He initially appears as polite, considerate and as a somewhat typical 'boring' hero type; a hopeless romantic, more noble than his upbringing, and (slightly too) willing to die to help the people of the land with their problems. He's very intent on upholding a good moral compass & noble image, though as you get to know him, his sheltered nature and true, genuine (and somewhat infuriating) kindness and occasional poor attempts at humour show through. A lovely guy at heart, Yan can be somewhat naive and stubbornly blind to the dark truths of the world, and how difficult his goal might be to acquire.
He's in his mid-late 20s, and well spoken- not necessarily 'posh', but we're not ruling it out. Accent is open once again, and vocally we're thinking mid and warm sounding. We're open to interpretation as always!
If you'd like more information on the character, please ask on here, discord or email and I'll clarify - I don't want to spoil anything for the players, as this chapter is still ongoing!
Yan is giving a speech to a hall of civilians.
Our world is skewed. Skewed in that we live in a world ultimately out of our control, out of our rational beliefs. Many of you would and have said that I'm here purely of fate, purely of serendipity or misfortune, depending on your impressions of this process. Though I am a great believer in carving your own destiny, I...would have to agree.
My years of training and loyalty to our past king did not bring me here, and believing that's so would be blind. To believe that I'll survive as long as the last is equally naïve, much as I'd love for it to be true. What I can assure you of, though, is that I will have a meaningful reign, however long, however much you believe in me.
He drops to one knee, bowing his head.
It will be my honour to serve you, and I will serve you all until my blood runs cold.
Replying to his partner, who's just started an argument with him. Could be yelling, or trying to talk them down- open to interpretation!
We always said we'd make it through whatever came our way, right? This is the same sentiment. Come now, let's go and prepare for tonight.
More tenderly, almost whispering.
Please, I know you're upset. I know this news changes...everything, and that in itself is a large understatement. But I'm here, and I will never let anything get in our way, okay?
A sweet scene of some respite. Aary is suggesting something to relieve Yan's stress, though Yan isn't picking up on the bigger picture.
Aary- "You know, your girlfriend could help you to loosen up more, too"
She could? How so?
Aary raises an eyebrow, smirking. Yan doesn't get what she means.
We do enjoy coming here for walks in any spare time we have, and the waves are certainly relaxing...
A long pause. He continues looking blankly back at Aary, until it finally hits him.
OH, you uh, you mean...
He speaks very quietly, but genuinely
...sex?
Aary stares back in shock. He gasps a little, suddenly aware of how what he said might sound.
Aary- I never expected you to just SAY it!
Yan stifles a rare laugh.
I do apologise! Gods, that must of uh, been a little unexpected, to say the least...
Perhaps I've loosened up a little too much.
Yan bursts out laughing.
This role will likely be cast to multiple people, as we'll need a variety of voices for some of the smaller roles - so guards, shopkeepers, background characters, etc. We've put the price as $2 so far, but this could increase depending on how many of these you end up being cast for, the possibility of recurrences of said characters and how you might be more on-call than some of the other roles for once Chapter 2 is complete. (So effectively, $2 per character!)
Context- The first set of lines is from a dying guard, who's being interrogated by & hiding secrets from the player. The second is from a Captian of the Guard who's training with their recruits. The third is from some of the recruits who are going after one of the characters.
We're open to your interpretations of these roles!
*DEADLINE- 03/03/2020*
Would you bow to one who has no right to their place? Who likely wouldn't last a week in their position? Who would so readily accept their fate?
They laugh a little through their gritted teeth
I betrayed no King. He didn't deserve a chance, he's not the true monarch.
They wince as Prio digs his knee into their abdomen a little harder
("So who is?! Did they get you to kill him?")
They splutter
Like I'd tell you...
They cough a little, the pressure from Prio's knee making it painful and difficult for them to breathe
This place is mysterious. Truth be told, I only know little of what goes on behind closed doors, and even that's only through word of mouth. Hooded figures, all-seers, they who orchestrate this sick game. Information is value here, lives a currency to be thrown away in search of it.
A little blood begins to trickle down their jaw, the scarlet tinting their lips
And I'll tell you none of what I know.
Their mouth corners snarl, turning into a haunting grimace.
Stop dallying!! Are you ready? CHARGE!!
Good, but not there yet. You’re still too tight with your stance. Keep your knees bent, take deep breaths, and maintain that posture next time.
Ah, but of course! Our White Knight, running in to save the girl from the peasants. Truly a hero of our time, Sire!
What, didn't bring your army? Or - aah, I see. Want a fair go at the damsel yourself, eh?
Wouldn't want any competition, right? Sweep the common whore off her feet!
They guffaw
*Due to this character being in the Second incomplete chapter of the story, the payment shown is the minimum payment based on current amount of lines. This *may* increase depending on how the Chapter continues*
Thibault is another character from the Second Chapter of the Text Adventure.
A lavish, theatrical and slightly playful facade hides a much more intimidating and severe core to this Lord. The minute he's underestimated due to his seemingly immaturity & carefree nature, you'll find his sharp tongue and wit ready to strike- if you're lucky. For this character, we're looking for the theatrics, but very much grounded in underlying realism & severity. He believes he knows better than most, and can prove it at a moment's notice. He loves nothing more than engaging in a match of wits with someone who'd underestimate him; and you'll never truly know if his smiles and laughs are out of genuine enjoyment, or because he knows he's already won his own game.
For the sake of the story and players, I shan't reveal more here, but please *do DM me if you'd like more information on the character*, and I'll fill in any of the gaps ':D
Age is pretty open, as is the accent- though we're mostly looking for an Atlantic/ English/ US accent, and one that again may not necessarily be fully posh, but is well spoken. As always, we're open to interpretation! Acting is a priority here (hence the more detailed line descriptions!), so have fun with the character!
Thibault in this story is pronounced tih-bolt, & Thib is pronounced 'Tib' (where the 'i' in tih is like the 'i' in nib or bin)
The player has just lost a fight against Thibault. He lowers his sword, and twirls it as he walks back towards his seat. In a more playful, theatrical mood.Well now, that is a shame. Oh, the stories I could tell, the legends I could spout, the bullshit I could vomit... would ruin the floor though you see, ruin the surprise and all...Despite the odds being greatly against them, the player gets up, drawing their weapon once again. This impresses Thibault, who's now intrigued. His tone becomes more serious.Hmph, maybe you are fun. I'll play.Sounds used to & over the formalities of his position.
One could call me many things. As far as you should know, I am the leader of this place. That answer your question?
Much as I'd love you to call me 'My Lord', kiss my rings and suck my toes- or however all that faff happens- yoooou, my dear, may call me Thib. Short for Lord blah blah blah Thibault of blah blah nobody cares land.
Thib starts out fairly casually, more carefree, and becomes more dark and intimidating as time goes on.It was a beautiful ceremony. Couldn't have asked for a better day really. Perhaps the exquisite perfection was but a bad omen of events to come. The player asks where they are. Thib is frustrated and bemused as to the misplaced priorities of the character.Such idle questions. He asks where he is, as opposed to what purpose, what significance this place holds, why your companions are gone...
He realises the player's attachment to his new companion, letting out some laughter.
Oh.... ohohoh, I see now...
He turns, walking around the player as they try to gather their thoughts. The playful slight sneer to Thib's voice only amplifies the doubts in the player's head.A new place, new feelings, questioned choices. New...friends, new regrets, even more feelings-He leans close to the player's ear. His voice becomes incredibly threatening, though calm. And I would wager you don't even know her name. The player clenches their fist. Now now, you'd watch your temper in front of me.He gestures widely to the roomAfter all I've revealed, all I've shown... You'd be heavily unwise to show me disrespect.Thib slaps his hand onto the player's shoulder, pushing them into a knelt position, and rapidly drawing a sword. The blade grazes their neck. His voice lightens slightly once again. And you've only just bowed. Tut tut.Bursting into the room somewhat melodramatically. He realises the characters have been talking amongst themselves while he's been gone. This piques his curiosity, and though he's angry, he puts across a lighter, more playful mood.
He begins speaking as soon as he's pushed the doors open, blatantly interrupting their talking.Talking about me, were we? Truly I’m flattered-
Feigning having only just noticed what they were saying, teasing them.
-or, hang on one moment. Were you two... having a little, well, you know?
Taking a much more serious, severe tone, pitying.
Tch tch tch my dear, did we forget about a little someone? I'm sure you'd be breaking their little heart...
Really rubbing in the fact their partner is missing. ...if they could only hear you!
*Due to this character being in the Second incomplete chapter of the story, the payment shown is the minimum payment based on current amount of lines. This *may* increase depending on how the Chapter continues.*
This role is currently a small one, but is performance heavy! This man is basically at a large, celebratory event, out comfort zone. He goes to try and get his message across to his ruler, and is somewhat taken aback after being successful in this, and brought to the forefront of attention
He can be between 35-60, and his accent is open once again to interpretation, though we'll likely have to match it to another character.
If you'd like more information on the character, please ask on here, discord or email and I'll clarify - I don't want to spoil anything for the players, as this chapter is still ongoing!
Yelling out in a crowd, angry and disappointed by their leader. You're no leader of ours! You know not the true trials you must face. Your mother and father are dead, they would not be proud of who you are and what you’re fast becoming!
The father has been called out by the leader. Significantly more cautious, but trying to remain strong.
Y-yes, majesty. The people need to see a man in control-
...M'lord?
The father cries out, inconsolably sad, as he stands detained, his head held, forced to watch his worst nightmare play out before him. The role will require yelling/crying, so give this your best!
*It's very likely I'll be taking on this role myself, but we've decided to open it just in case, and for if you guys wanna try it out! We'll again be providing feedback to anyone who asks!*
*Due to this character being in the Second incomplete chapter of the story, the payment shown is the minimum payment based on current amount of lines. This *may* increase depending on how the Chapter continues.*
Giri is one of the primary characters in the Second Chapter of the Text Adventure. She is introduced to the characters as a ball of rage... and this is an accurate summary of her character XD She only really knows to deal with problems in 2 ways; rage, or literally attacking the issue head-on (and even then, this is usually out of rage). This unhealthy coping mechanism comes from a place of deep concern for Yan, however, though as against his seeming death wish of living life as a hero could well be the end of him, she is willing to do anything to prevent that fate, where 'anything' is 'taking up vengeance with the gods themselves'.
She's in her mid-late 20s, and her accent is open once again to interpretation!
If you'd like more information on the character, please ask on here, discord or email and I'll clarify - I don't want to spoil anything for the players, as this chapter is still ongoing!
Giri pronunciation - the 'i's are pronounced like pin or tin
Yan- rhymes with pan!
Giri has just been in an argument with Yan. She's mad, and taking it out on an unsuspecting tree. She sees the player roll up, expecting it to be Yan. Sarcastically.Wow, glad Yan decided to come himself. She turns back around, punching between words.That-fucking-YAN- GAHH!!She lands a kick on the tree, splintering it and worrying anyone in the vicinity. Slumping down next to the tree, exhausted, she explains her rage to the others, regaining a more calm composure. I'm not pissed because I didn't get the job. I'm...I'm pissed because he did.Becoming angrier again
He always wanted to make fucking change, improve a city that never gave a damn about him, fight for gods who would willingly sacrifice people like this. And now he's got his wish, and he'll happily die for it!!! GRAAAAAH!!
She punches the tree one last time.
Embarrassed to be having to ask for help. Trying to give the quick version of the land's complex traditions. As luck would.. have it, I need to ask another favour. Regardless of my personal beliefs, the complexities and traditions of this land are stringent and should be upheld, to...appease the gods, and bless us..or something. I must ask you for an item you hold dear to you. You would see it returned, you have my word.
Narrating events.
So many things in this world are destined to be destroyed; this city, for one, but also the people in it. We're ravished by a curse, a fate that keeps us hostage. Any one of us could find ourselves at its beck and call within an instant, with no choice but to face it. I... I can't let this continue- not for us, and not for...him.
I don't know if there's a way to fix this, undo this cruel existence; but I also know I'm not about to lay down and die for it, or let it blindly guide my sword into another's throat. Something has to be done.
We'd love to have some original songs created for the story; both in terms of more climactic, defined pieces, as well as more ambience music for the soundtrack. As long as it's somewhat fantasy, we're interested!
For the initial search, & without spoiling too much, we're looking for songs based in a Tavern setting (can include a happy tavern theme, a conflict in the tavern, shenanigans in there, romance, etc!) , a dungeon/ torture chamber, a romantic balcony & a dreamlike ocean. There is a fair share of emotional climaxes of all kinds, so we're fairly open to any and all interpretations; we'll see where things can fit in! Character themes could also be cool- let your imagination run wild!
We're also part way into writing Chapter 2 as well, so we'd love some running theme in the music!
For reference, we've been using predominantly songs from NieR, Final fantasy and the Witcher series as a stand in for the sessions, but of course we'd have to (and want!) to use something original for the series, so anything along those lines could certainly help- though we'd love to have some original style in there too! (Nothing typically electronic/EDM or too modern sounding.)
For payment, it would depend wholly on what we find and what we decide upon, but we guarantee the minimum as the price listed for what we choose. We're happy for people to submit songs they've created prior to this, or if you want to compose something for it using the briefs above and/ or any themes for the characters posted, feel free to! Don't repost any music or use any that isn't yours.
We're open to individual tracks &/or examples of previous live compositions! We're also fairly open generally, so show us what you've got!
Say something you think would fit

Thrys is another character from the Second Chapter of the Text Adventure.
He's a mysterious man, and his true self, motives and personality are generally unclear to most who meet him. He is eloquently spoken, has an air of power and is ardent to achieve his goals.
Age is pretty open, as is the accent- though we're picturing an English/ US/ Atlantic accent, and one that again may not necessarily be 'posh', but is well spoken. As always, we're open to interpretation!
For the sake of the story and players, I shan't reveal more here, but please *do DM me if you'd like more information on the character*, and I'll fill in any of the gaps ':D
Thrys is pronounced with the 'ys' being like 'list' or 'Triss', not 'thrice'. Though we won't be judging based on pronunciation!
Suspicious of the player on their first meeting.
Hmph, I don't recognise you. Speak- who are you, and why are you here?Player replies- "It's impolite to ask such things before first introducing yourself."
Thrys lets out a short, snide laugh.Confident, aren't we? Well, I suppose I should brush up on my manners...The player realises Thrys was concealing a blade in their sleeve, just as he sheathes it. He pulls back the hood of their coat, giving a small bow.Thrys. And you?---
Suspiciously, but polite
So... Care to tell me how exactly you got here?He tries to describe his predicament to the player's character.
This place, this city, this...realm, is not your usual. Though I imagine you could tell that from your surroundings. It's complicated, and I shan't lie to you. You may well be here due to... mistakes you made.He scratches his lower neck. He's uncomfortable with the player questioning him so much.I was brought here against my will. I don't tend to speak of it.The player sounds their frustrations with past events.Hmm, a sentiment I can understand too well. I ask not that you come with me; just take my hand for now. I assure you, you'll come to no harm from it, I'm bound by my word.Believing they have the player's trust. More accommodating now.As to why I'm here, I have a favour to ask. For now though, come with me. I've many things to show you.Though we've just met, I feel assured that we're not as dissimilar as circumstance would have us believe.
“I understand what you say. What is innocent? That innocent man still killed for power, no? The king, though old, could’ve lived another ten, twenty years. He was of sound mind and heart, yet he was deemed ready to die by a society? Accepting death doesn’t necessarily mean agreeing to it. We all have our skeletons, our sinsTrying to persuade the player that what they've been tasked to do isn't evil, that they shouldn't feel guilt over it.

We all have our skeletons, our sins.Appealing to a situation the player hinted to, using it to convince them.I imagine they were your friend once, perhaps more. A once innocent friend doesn’t negate the possibility of betrayal, the possibility of committing heinous acts. We’ve all acted desperately in adverse circumstances.
Guilt can be found everywhere if you search for it, if your mind hasn’t dropped the distinct reality that there’s more to these worlds than merely good and bad. I would think you’d understand those sentiments.Reluctant, resigned. There's no other way, I'm afraid.

Prašinu, or Praš is a very secretive, scholarly and mysterious character in the Second Chapter of the Text Adventure. They're authoritative but quiet, frustratingly secretive and very strong in mind and focus. It's impossible to tell what they're thinking, and though they may know an incredible amount of information, the number of people they'd willingly tell about it to can be counted on one hand, minus a couple of fingers. Generally, this means they're largely impatient & uninterested in what anyone else has to say, unless it's concise and to the point.
They're not human, and their species means they have the size & stature of a young child. We picture them sounding childlike in pitch & tone (not necessarily sounding like an actual child), but very mature, mannered and serious in delivery. Something mid-high, breathy and somewhat monotonous with slight expression would hit what we're thinking, but as always we're open to interpretation!
Accent is open too, so long as their lines are clear.
They present as female, but nobody is really sure of what they really are in terms of gender or species, other than 'not really human', so any & all genders are welcome to try out!

Disinterested and slightly miffed their time & vast amounts of knowledge is being wasted.
Perhaps if you cared as much for my name as the situation we're in, I'd be more inclined to answer your needless quandary- we aren't friends, nor shall we ever be. Though I could whittle away more of my precious time disputing this with you, I must say I'm utterly disinterested in any further conversations between us, and have much more productive activities awaiting me. Good day.
Describing a story, somewhat nonchalantly considering how terrible the situation was
Your typical romance; a cretin falling in love with a woman far out of his class. Of course, their foolishness only led to death and misfortunes for all involved. One could argue as to whether their circumstances were more or less tragic than their naivety, but one would be engaging in discussions more idiotic than their decisions.
Prio jokingly responds-"Huh, I didn't take you as a reader of cheesy fictions."
Pras replies scathingly, with maybe the tiniest trace of playfulness.
Bold of you to be so blindly assumptive. I didn't take a bard of such esteem to be the kind who would take the tale so lightly whilst also so openly mocking the genre that lies at the centre of his 'career'.
Pras shushes impatiently.
Why are you here?
The Player answers with something vague
Ask a relevant question and I might well answer.
The Player answers with something irrelevant
I don't particularly care for 'what you've been told'. What do you believe? What would you have me enlighten you on?
The Player answers with something disappointing
A shame.

Lazlow is another Guard, like Lyssa, who appears in the second chapter of the adventure. Though he currently doesn't have much of a presence, it's likely this could develop depending on the journey the story takes, and possibly on what a Voice actor could bring to this role!
Lazlow is a terrible guard, but more than that a friendly guy, though at face value, maybe not the sharpest tool in the shed- a bit of a himbo, if you will. He isn't totally naive and blissfully unaware of his surroundings however, and may be more astute than most would give him credit for. He loves hugs, bread and the simple, cosy things in life. He's also an incredibly strong lad, so nice as he is, probably still not worth picking a fight with him. Though he'll pretty much get along with anyone he meets, he loves nothing more than teasing anyone who takes themselves too seriously (much to Lyssa's frustrations), and he's fine as long as he can chill out, have a good time and eat some tasty food.
Accent open, though I picture him with a US, Australian or Welsh accent (for whatever reason ':D) . If you're unable to do those though, don't worry about trying to, I've no preference at this stage! :D
Ah, let the bastard through, Lyssa!
The words barely escape Lazlow, his mouth crammed full of bread roll.
Lyssa- ""What took you so- wait, where on the gods' land did you get those?"
Lazlow balance armfuls more rolls, seemingly of all varieties and flavours, attempting to close the gate with their their foot. His mouth is still full.
Foomarkleff, of courfe! Beft rollf in the fity!
He finishes his mouthful, realising nobody can understand him.
You know Proomarkles, famous for their variety of flavours- travelled world round to acquire these recipes!
You haven't tried it? Oh man it's the best out there! I'd hand you one, but..
He tries to move his head carefully to bite into another without toppling the pile he's already carrying
Lyssa is trying to have a hushed discussion with Lazlow, who's being a terrible guard very blasé and is speaking loud enough for the player to hear, and then some.
Lyssa- "We shouldn't tell them anything, we don't know who they are!!"
Lazlow responds jokingly
Lyssa, 'dearest'-
Lyssa huffs in frustration. Lazlow takes a bite from a bread roll.
If they're here in the first place, they already likely know something, don't you think? Besides, they already know our identities!
Lyssa- "They know my name, because YOU said it. They know my identity- you're safe!!
Well- ah, yeah. You have a point there
Lyssa - "They're looking to meet with the boss. Their...friend."
Lazlow contemplates that, as their boss really seems too terrifying to be the sort to have friends.
Riiiiiight. Hm. 'Friend', you say? Well, didn't think that was even a thing.
Lyssa speaks quietly but fiercely- "It isn't..."
...But if it IS, Lyssa, we probably wouldn't want to keep him waiting. Alright, well I can take you to him if you want.
Teasing her again.
You can look after the rolls, right?
Giving advice to the player about meeting their boss.
Advice... don’t piss him off is a great start. I can’t say what you’re going there to do, so I mean it’s hard to say. If you’re going for a fight...
He laughs a little, knowing if a fight were to happen, they likely wouldn't survive it. He tries to reply optimistically.
Good luck I guess!

Lyssa is a Guard character in the Second chapter of the story. Though she currently doesn't have much of a presence, it's likely this could develop depending on the journey the story takes, and possibly on what a Voice actor could bring to this role.
What we do know is that her origin is a mystery to us, as with everyone in the place she inhabits. She is very distrusting of any new people and faces, and is loyal to fulfilling her duties; she doesn't want to be on the wrong side of their violent boss. She's not especially frightened of him, but would rather not unnecessarily cause any conflicts. A keen and capable fighter, Lyssa is strong willed, stubborn and steadfast on her beliefs and where she stands. Unlikely to speak unless wholly necessary, she uses choice words she wishes would fall on slightly less selective ears, such as those of her Guard duty partner, Lazlow, who annoys her thoroughly.
Accent is open as always!
Interrupting the player's greeting. They're trying to get through the gate Lyssa's guarding, and Lyssa knows she likely won't let them through.
Why is it you're here?
The player replies mentioning their friend, who is Lyssa's boss. She believes the player's lying....Friend?
Her Guard partner Lazlow arrives carrying armfuls of food & interrupting Lyssa, who groans.
What took you so- wait, where on the gods' land did you get those?
Lyssa is trying to have a hushed discussion with Lazlow, who's being a terrible guard very blasé and is speaking loud enough for the player to hear, and then some.
We shouldn't tell them anything, we don't know who they are!!
Lazlow, jokingly- "Lyssa, 'dearest'-"
She huffs in frustration. Lazlow continues "If they're here in the first place, they likely already know something, don't you think? Besides, they already know our identities!"
...They know my name, because YOU said it. They know my identity- you're safe!!
Lazlow- "Well-ah. Yeah, you have a point there."
Lyssa tries to resume her Guard position best she can.
They're looking to meet with the boss. Their...friend.
Lazlow- "Riiiiight. Hm. 'Friend', you say? Well, didn't think that was even a thing."
Lyssa speaks quietly but fiercely.
It isn't...
Lazlow and the player are about to go through the gate. Just before the player can get through , Lyssa holds it slightly ajar with her hand, blocking the player's way. She's speaking to Lazlow, who until this point has managed to keep his own name a secret. She decides to reveal his name so that she's no longer the only one culpable.
We get in trouble for this, I'll be sure to tell them who it was, Lazlow.
