Advicit Armadillos

Project Overview

Hello, I'm Jackson, you may call me HHJ. I'm an aspiring beginner animator looking for help on my web-toon to be published publicly on YouTube, "Advicit Armadillos", the title may sound tacky, but it goes more in-depth. The show revolves around a family of 6 Anthropomorphic Armadillos, known as the Advicits (hence the title) moving up north after experiencing dread from their previous home. They move up north, but end up having to live separately from one another and have to cope to their new living grounds while also having to work through jobs to pay for their living grounds, encountering all different types of species and overcoming problems and shenanigans.

How the show will be organized, and what I need assistance with:

For the basics of how this project will be organized, The show will be animated using Adobe Animate CC, and the style is currently yet to be decided on as to whether it will be frame-by-frame or using rigs, all roles for the show are un-paid. There are some titular characters that will need voices for the pilot episode, Some characters are male and female and will have differentiating characteristics. You can audition for as many characters as you like. I am also looking for designers for the show, this show will have a style inspired off of films like Zootopia, but with more of a cartoonish edge like bigger eyes and defining character specific props and body types. If you are at all interested in designing or think you are able to piece together some good anthropomorphic designs, please be sure to submit me applications of your art and show me what you got.

What Can I do to help?

Voice Acting:

If you are willing or looking to work for an unpaid project and assist me with my passion project, that would be very appreciated. I currently need voice actors for episode 1, or the pilot episode. If at any point I need more voices, I will give an update. There are 7 roles available for characters, you may audition for as many as you would like, but only one will be chosen. Please do NOT take offense if your not accepted for the role you desire, please know that I found someone who perfectly fits for the role, you may feel free to audition again in the future if I need help with future episode voice work.

Designing:

For Designing, I am not perfectly experienced with designing and what i've made has turned out to be a bit messy. If you think you can help design characters well in a cartoonish fashion, please feel free to submit me an application of anytime to your work. I will not be accepting any NSFW art for characters. Be sure to also have experience with designing characters in clothes, as each character will be dressed in them.

Storyboarding:

This is a subsidiary to the designing aspect. I need assistance with the layouts of how the animation for each episode will be organized. I will be working as the head storyboard-er, and will help give cues on how each scene should be drawn or planned out. If you feel you want to design and storyboard, feel free to submit something.

What are the Rules/Requirements?

There are a few accommodations that have to be followed for you to have a chance of being considered.

Voice Acting Rules:
1. You must have a Good Microphone; quality over quantity is important. Microphones of bad quality will have a lower chance of being accepted.
2. You must have experience with voice acting; Voice acting with good timing and emotion is key for this project. Without it, nothing would make you feel anything. If you're not too good at emotion, try looking up some lessons in voice acting, I'm sure it will help!
3. Please be sure to do multiple takes in your audition; Sometimes the emotion depends in a line, and hearing one take will not give me a perfect glimpse of vocal range among emotions.
4. You Must have a Skype or Discord account; In order for me to contact anyone at all, I need some social media info from you, If you are looking to work full-time for this project, contact me on Discord or Skype. Design/Storyboarding Rules:

1. You need to have experience with drawing; Good Design allows for appeal among the masses, if you don't have too much experience with drawing, practice your skills and show me when you're ready. I'm sure any of you can improve!
2. You need to understand proportions; Proportions are important when designing characters, no parts should excessively big or small, be sure to have a formalized style and show me what you got.
3. Try not to make the style too realistic; This show is a cartoon, and I am aiming to have designs that spark with people and have a charm to them. the designs also shouldn't be too cartoony, somewhere in the middle, again, similar to Zootopia's style with a more cartoony feel.
4.You Must have a Skype or Discord account; same as before, if you want to get in contact with me, please be sure to do so through the accounts listed above or below.

I will be writing updates every week on what I've gotten so far and what has changed. Be sure to take a look at what happens here, because your time to audition could be limited. So, feel free to audition for anything below at will. Remember, everything here is unpaid, so if you're not someone who works for unpaid projects, that's fine!     Hello to everyone still following this project, I have decided all of the roles for the show, and while some roles are currently unfilled, I am looking for outside help on the project. If you didn't get accepted for the role, don't be offended, it's nothing against you, You might just need to improve your voice work, or I found someone who suited the role better, If you're disappointed you didn't get a role, have no fear, as roles for more characters in future episodes of the project will open sometime later this year, so you might have a chance to actually get in that way! I really appreciate all of the help given to this project, even with what minimal it might have been, I'm hoping the pilot for this project turns out well and I hope you all keep you eyes out for future updates, I will be sure to inform all of you on progress updates on the pilot and when future auditions and casting calls will open! thank you all once again for auditioning and helping with the project, you all are wonderful and I really appreciate all the help!     Recently the deadline for the project has passed, and I would like to thank everyone who auditioned or submitted applications for the project, I really appreciate the help that the project was given, even if it was somewhat minimal. To anyone curious, I will be announcing the users who received each role for characters on the 30th of December.     Hey everyone, the casting call has been doing ok so far a week and a half in, but i've only gotten a small amount of voice acting auditions and no art auditions/applications. Jayden is the equivalent of a seventeen year old teen, being an enthusiastic, mostly optimistic person, with there of course being obvious exceptions to this. His favorite things include, listening to pop music, helping out people with things, and enjoying things as the show goes on. He should have a somewhat deep voice, but one that is sometimes cracky too.

Avery is an average female college student you’d commonly come across, although she looks up to famous figures in this show’s universe, and has always wanted to be well known in history. Otherwise, she has a pretty average mood, not being overly invested in things, yet not overly sensitive, but can get hooked onto something very easily, as she has a short attention span too. Her voice should be that of a grown, young woman, preferably lower-pitched.

Gerald is the father figure, equivalent to a 50 year old man, and is seeking for a quality job, mostly due to his low amount of money that he has. He’s a very skeptical and doesn’t think he’ll ever get a job that’s worth a good amount of pay, but that will also personally benefit him, and he doesn’t take it into consideration most of the time. His job will switch multiple times throughout the first season of the series. His voice should be somewhat raspy and should sound like a masculine man.

Johnson is a young teenage-equivalent person still enrolled in school, but will eventually receive a job later on in the cartoon's run. He's intelligent, but not to an extreme degree. Johnson is usually enthusiastic and has a lot of hope for things. His voice should sound nerd-like and medium-pitched.

Matilda is the motherly figure, also being the equivalent to a fifty-year old. She may be generous, but she’s also somewhat of a perfectionist, wanting things to be as perfect as possible. She gets upset easily if something doesn't go her way as planned. Matilda has always had a fascination for gardening and is a complete freak for it. Her voice should sound high-pitched and mature.

Greg is the oldest of the bunch. He has multiple different personalities, having 4 other completely different personalities in addition to his main one. These multiple different personalities will be explained in a later episode of the series. For his main personality, Greg is a pretty lonely person, mostly due to being old. His main voice should be low-pitched and sound like and old man. For his other personalities, keep them all raspy, Amanda should be higher-pitched and feminine, Gordon should sound enthusiastic and mid-pitched, Olaf has a bit of a harsh accent and has a deeper voice, and Danny has a higher-pitched voice and it sometimes cracks.

Allison is the landlord of the Advicits, she manages all the neighborhoods the characters reside in. She's the equivalent to a 30 year old woman. She's positive and joke-itive at times but is also serious about her job. She should have a higher-pitched voice ranging closer to a mid-ranged voice, her tone should also be enthusiastic.
