Mission on Frog Planet (Original Short Story, Audio drama)
Project Overview

Hi! I’m Sami Jaz and this is my first project on CastingCall.club. I am the writer, producer, and illustrator of the audio drama - Mission on Frog Planet. The script is right around 7000 words and is inspired by The Mandalorian/Book of Boba Fett Series, but tells its own original story.
Plot
Craig, a frog-man, living on his own is visited by his old human friend Teren who offers him a bounty hunting job to kill an evil King. Craig agrees, but when they arrive in the Royal city, things aren’t as he remembers them.
Disclaimers
There is some minor crude language in the script. (e.g. Craig says “crap” once and “hell” twice. Teren says “hell” once and "damn" once.) If this bothers you, please don’t audition for Craig or Teren. As of May 17th, I have removed any stronger language from the script in order to make it more family-friendly.
Mic requirements
I’m not picky on what kind of mic you use. A USB or condenser mic is preferable, but a phone or headphone mic may work if you have a quiet space to record in. Minor noise reduction (with Audacity, WavePad, etc.) to reduce white noise and mouth clicks before submitting is okay.
Payment
There are five paid roles (see below). I have launched a Kickstarter to help pay for the cast and production. If you would like to become a backer and get some awesome rewards click here: Mission on Frog Planet by Sami Jaz — Kickstarter
May 17th Update: Due to the high number of auditions, there will be fewer comments from Sami Jaz going forward. Also, the deadline has been moved up from May 31st to May 21st.
Deadline for Voice Actor auditions is May 21st.

(For actors aged 18-50) Mid-to-low pitch. Looking for a storyteller voice. Read like you are telling the story to a good friend.
This role has by far the most lines in the script, which makes it the highest paying role.
He found a little spot on the edge of a swamp. A quiet place where people don’t come knocking. Except for today that is. Today was different.
The journey from Pelon IV [PELL-on Four] to Karphibion [CAR-fib-ee-on] took about sixteen hours in Teren’s ship. The Planet was mostly covered in water and marsh, except for the volcanic islands that is, but no one lived around those death mountains.
The columns had shapes of massive sea creatures, ornate shells, and frog-style embellishments. A large, black and white spotted Plecostomus [plee-COT-o-mus] fish, presumably a pet, had stuck its bottom-feeder mouth to the wall.
(For actors aged 18-40) Craig is a frog-man and has a nasally, high-to-medium pitched voice to match. Feel free to experiment with a couple different voices on the lines. Have fun with it. An American or Scottish accent might be fitting. Like Shrek, Craig would also be one to say, “What are you doing in my swamp!” (To be clear, the voice I have in my head for Craig does not sound like Shrek.)
[irritated] Shit. What do you want Teren?
[indignant] No, you said- *scoff* Hell, I thought it was weird you taking such a low bounty, but I didn’t put it past you. I mean, you’re an idiot!
[serious, matter-of-fact] The way I see it, you don’t really have a lot of options right now. You can trust me or not. What’d’ya say?
(For actors aged 25-40) His voice is medium-to-deep and a bit gruff at times. He’s got a bit of a cowboy twang to his voice. Think McCree from Overwatch. (See this video for a sample of McCree’s voice: Overwatch Animated Short | “Reunion” - YouTube)
Teren is a simple man. He’s a space cowboy and a pilot. He speaks to others like an equal.
[serious] Barlow’s been dead for years. The bounty’s on his replacement.
[flustered] Well, uh- you’ve given me a lot to think about. I’ll have to take some time to assess the situation and uh- come up with a new plan.
[serious] It’s too big a business to get involved with. Ain’t worth the risk.
(For actors aged 15-30) His highness, the good lord Tearnidad, is a posh sounding lad. High British. Not one to speak with contractions, except for when he becomes excited. So, please, articulate each word in a way that would befit a Prince. Hmm-yes, quite.
[somber, evoking pity] So you see, my life is safe only as long as Partio lives and the contract remains valid.
[serious] Ah, I understand. Well, give my regards to my- *pause*…the frog-woman.
[delighted, ecstatic] Gosh! I’ve never been in the stars before! This is incredible!
(For actors aged 25-50) The Frog Queen, like the Prince, also has a High British accent. She is courteous, but will do what it takes to save her son. Mature female voice, mid-to-low pitch, warm, regal, yet motherly.
Think Queen Clarisse from Princess Diaries. (Sample here: Princess Diaries - tea scene - YouTube)
[serious] Listen. I know everyone in this city. I know you’re not from here. I don’t know what you’re up to, but it’s nothing innocent.
[talking about getting into the shielded Royal Palace] I can get you in, but we’ll have to wait until dark.
[fondly] You’re a clever frog, Craig.
(For actors aged 30-80) Not super picky for his voice. He just needs to sound middle aged to elderly. Either British or American accent is fine.
[with underlying anger] That's not much of a choice.
[serious] The boy is under my protection.
~No third line. King Partio only had the two lines above.
(For actors aged 15-25) Youthful, Low-British, not pretentious, friendly.
[bravely] Just a bruise, but I’ll be fine.
[hopeful] Does this mean Prince Tearnidad can come back?
~No third line. The fake Prince only has the two lines above.
(For actors aged 18-50) Not picky here. British or American accent.
No one enters without an invite from the King.
You’re lying. No one has received an invite for today.
~No other lines for this role.
(For actors aged 18-50) Not picky here. British or American accent.
[with evil intent] Excuse me, your majesty, but I was wondering if you needed anything.
