Forget Me Not
Project Overview
Plot Synopsis: A group of students from Kodama-yami High School, led by a transfer student named Aisa Mizuguchi, investigate an anomaly that is causing the deaths of multiple people, which the masses call, the Erasure Syndrome. It is a mysterious aberration that takes away the existence of an individual within the memories of those close to them, and eventually, causes the death of the afflicted person. Kodama-yami High’s student council president falls victim to the Erasure Syndrome, which sparks the catalyst of Aisa and her group’s investigation. With cohorts in tow, Aisa and the Anomaly Research Club, or ARC for short, delve headfirst into figuring out this mysterious phenomenon by entering potential victims’ Domains, dreamstates that allow the venturing into the psyche of the afflicted, so they may have a chance to save the victim from their death and complete erasure. Saving people’s lives is one thing, but ultimately, Aisa, along with the members of ARC, must find the cause of the Erasure Syndrome and put an end to the harm it brings.

Project Information: Hello all! Overall, this project is planned to be a radio drama that will also have some limited and basic visual aid. It’s going to be a fairly mature project, as the narrative will tackle some touchy subjects like suicide, death and mental stressors, so keep that in mind when auditioning. Each role will have short backgrounds of the character and what their vocal tone and pitch will be. If you have any questions or concerns, please drop a comment and I will do my best to reply to you ASAP. Good luck to you all and thank you for your interest!

Audition Guidelines: These guidelines aren’t necessarily required for each audition, but it will help your odds for booking the role.
-
Have a decent microphone and have little to no background noise. It doesn’t have to be a super crazy set up with a booth and $300 microphone and filter, just make sure your voice is clearly picked up, your Ps and Bs aren’t peaking and that there isn’t excessive noise on your audition. -
Follow the character’s voice and accent descriptions. This is basic, if the role asks for a certain sound, do your best to follow. A majority of the characters will have neutral American accents, so it shouldn’t be too difficult. -
Lean more on grounded acting and natural vocal range than overly exaggerated. Although the setting of the story is Japan and the visual aids will have anime-esque aesthetics, the characters and themes will be as grounded as possible. So no need to get over the top with your voice and to get overly excessive with the acting, unless the line specifically asks for it, of course.

Character Background: Aisa was born on February 16 and is sixteen years old at the start of the story. She transfers to Kodamayami High School as a second year with her sister, Saia Mizuguchi. The sisters’ parents died during the school year that had passed, which has led Aisa and her sister to transferring schools, as they now reside with their father’s sister in Tokyo. Aisa forms the Anomaly Research Club with her sister and some of their fellow classmates and becomes the de facto leader of the group.
Voice Description: Aisa has an energetic voice, yet it retains clear and her pronunciation of words reflect that. She has an outwardly bubbly personality, though this is mainly to keep the spirits of her cohorts high. On an emotional range, she can go from happy to melancholic in a single scene. Erica Lindbeck’s portrayal of Futaba Sakura from Persona 5 would be a good comparison to pull from as a base for Aisa’s voice.
“You’d think a big school like this would have a map or something, right?” (She is conversing with her sister about her school’s maze-like layout.)
“T-trash can boy!? Wow, I guess it’s true that this school does have everything.” (She is shocked and intrigued to see a student sleeping by a trash can.)
“Hey! Are you alright? I think you dropped something! Hey!” (She is calling for someone in a hallway that seemed to be too mentally out of it to respond.)
“Chin up, sis! We’ll crack this case in no time. I hope so, at least.” (She is bolstering her sister but isn’t too sure herself about her conviction and awkwardly laughs it off.)
“It doesn’t make any sense. It’s as if her existence was erased from the people that knew her most.” (She is being contemplative.)
“Alright! It’s me and you Saia! Little sis and big sis—solving a mystery that no investigator has yet to solve! Watch out world, the two brightest minds—” “—w-what do you mean, no?” (She is getting amped up to investigate the Erasure Syndrome but is quickly deflated by her sister.)
Character Background: Saia was born on March 12 and is sixteen years old at the start of the story. She transfers to Kodama-yami High School as a second year with her sister, Aisa Mizuguchi. The sisters’ parents died during the school year that had passed, which has led Saia and her sister to transferring schools, as they now reside with their father’s sister in Tokyo. Saia is the brains of the Anomaly Research Club and is more mature than her older sister.
Voice Description: Saia has a cold and stoic way of speaking, her pronunciation of words is clear, much like her sister. She is intelligent and is not afraid to show it, she has a calculative mind and it is apparent when she is deep in thought. On an emotional range, she can go from stoic to contemplative quickly, when speaking to her older sister, she is more casual and usually speaks to her in a scolding manner.
“Hey! Wake up you bum. Get dressed so we can leave, we’re going to be late for school.” (She is waking her older sister up in a scolding manner.)
“Get some toast and shove it in your mouth or something—I really don’t care if you starve. But if you cause us to be late on our first day, your ass is grass.” (She is lightly threatening her older sister to move hastily.)
“It doesn’t make sense and just seems completely implausible. How could the memory of a person be completely erased from multiple people? Especially someone like the student council president?” (She is questioning the events of a mysterious death on school grounds.)
“I’m not sure we’re up for this. We don’t even know where to start and what we’re doing. Just let the police handle it or something.” (She is going against her sister’s wishes to investigate the mysterious death that occurred on school grounds.)
“The trash can boy—Shoji, I think his name was. Wouldn’t he would be the closest to the student council president? Maybe he knows something about what happened to her, might even have something to do with it.” (She is being contemplative about getting a lead on her and her sister’s investigation.)
“I don’t trust that Shoji guy. With the president gone, he took her place by default since there’s no third-years in the student council that could take the spot. Pretty shifty, if you ask me.” (She is making deductions with her sister.)
Character Description: Shoji was born on July 27 and is sixteen years old at the start of the story. He is a second year student at Kodama-yami High. He is the son of a rich business owner and is the heir to their family’s company. After school, Shoji works alongside his best friend, Keitaro Sato, at a café called “Lovecraft”, which is owned by his Keitaro’s mother. Shoji takes the money he earns from his father’s company and invests it into the café as an anonymous benefactor.
Voice Description: Shoji‘s way of speaking is very lax and may even come out sluggish at times. He doesn’t make too much effort when it comes to inflections and usually retains a nonchalant tone in his voice. However, when he takes things seriously, it’s as if he is a whole other person, almost as if his true nature was hidden under the guise of an easy-going person. On an emotional range, he is mostly relaxed and doesn’t change up too often, but during serious scenes, he does take it up a notch when it comes to being focused, frighteningly so at times.
“What? Never seen a guy sleep next to a trash can before?” (He is answering someone when asked why he is sleeping next to a trash can.)
“It’s cozy, no one bothers me and I can easily throw my trash away when I eat snacks. It’s a win-win, I think so at least.” (He is explaining why he sleeps next to the trash can.)
“You know, it’s starting to get real weird with you following me around like this. I don’t even know you.” (He is starting to get uncomfortable due to someone following him.)
“I promise you it’s not a joke. I have no idea who you are and why you keep insisting that I have anything to do with you. Just leave me alone.” (He is attempting to stop a person from following him.)
“I’ve told you before to not make a scene! I have your money and I’ll wire it to you soon. Now back off and never show your face at the café, or you’ll regret it. Trust me.” (He is on the phone with a loan shark that was trying to extort money from Shoji’s boss.)
“Oh—uh, nothing ma’am, just talking to buddy of mine. I’ll get back to work now, so please go ahead and rest.” (He is covering his conversation on the phone from his boss, who gets tired easy due to illness.)
Character Description: Akira was born on January 4 and is seventeen years old at the start of the story. She is a second year at Kodama-yami High. After school, Akira is a part of the Track and Field Club as the captain and as the manager of the Basketball Club. Akira is the daughter of a known sports coordinator in the city. She is very competitive and likes to poke fun at her best friends Shoji Fujioka and Keitaro Sato. Akira is known at her school as the most hardworking student, something she greatly takes pride in.
Voice Description: Akira is boisterous and haughty, her way of speaking is energetic and full of passion, a complete opposite of her best friend, Shoji Fujioka. She usually ends her sentences in an upward inflection and keeps her tone constant. However, during more emotional scenes, especially when it comes to her, her voice breaks, as if all of the confidence she had was just false bravado. On an emotional range, she is mostly go-go-go, energetic and joyful but can easily be hurt when her work effort isn’t appreciated.
“Hey, hey, hey! New kids huh? I hope I’m not being too informal but did you two want to hang out after school? My friends and I can show you girls around. Name’s Akira by the way, nice to meet you.” (She is introducing herself to transfer students.)
“Trash boy? Oh! That’s just Shoji. He’s just being lazy again and trying to get a few more hours of sleep. I keep telling him to stop drinking coffee late at night, but her never listens.” (She is answering a question and talking about her friend.)
“Hope you all like sushi, because it’s sushi night!” (She is very excited to eat some sushi.)
“Shoji, hurry up! I’m starving and a sushi platter is waiting for me to devour it!” (Once again, very excited to get some sushi.)
“I’m really sorry you two. That shouldn’t be something anyone should see on their first day at school—shouldn’t be something anyone should see ever, to be fair.” (She is trying to console two transfer students as they had just witnessed someone jump off the school’s roof.)
“Rain check on the sushi. Let’s get you two home before the police start locking down the school.” (She is concerned for the well being of her new friends.)
Character Description: Keitaro was born on September 13 and is sixteen years old at the start of the story. He is a second year student at Kodama-yami High. After school, Keitaro works at a café called “Lovecraft” along with his friend Shoji Fujioka. Keitaro’s mother is the owner of the café and is struggling with an illness, something Keitaro is very anxious about.
Voice Description: Keitaro is much more outwardly serious person compared to his best friends, Shoji Fujioka and Akira Maki. This makes his voice more passionate and makes his lines more serious sounding. He has a tendency of sounding sarcastic at times. On an emotional range, he is an emotional person, the intensity in his words is heartfelt when in serious or tense scenes.
“He’s probably off sleeping somewhere again. Say, you two wouldn’t have seen anyone lazing about and dozing off somewhere, did you?” (He is asking about his best friend’s whereabouts.)
“Of course he is. Guess we should just let him be, he works himself to the bone at the café everyday, so I guess he deserves some rest.” (He is talking about his best friend.)
“I’m betting emergency services have already been called. We should get out of here before the police arrive and lock the school down.” (He is explaining to his friends after witnessing someone jump off their school’s roof.)
“I can’t believe that just happened. What the hell is going on? This whole craziness in the city’s scary, but seeing it happen so close—there’s no doubt in my mind that it’s the same thing.” (He is conversing with his best friend about what they just witnessed.)
“Think about it Shoji. No one has any recollection of who that girl was and why she would off herself like that. It was just like the rest of the deaths on the news lately.” (He is deep in thought, conversing with his best friend about a mysterious phenomenon.)
“People’s memories of a singular person don’t just disappear at the same time, it’s impossible. This isn’t normal and there’s something else going on, I know you think the same.” (He is continuing his conversation with his best friend.)
Character Description: Principal Miyamura is the principal of Kodama-yami High and has been for many years. He is a large man who deeply cares for the well being of his students. After one of his students takes their life on school premises, he becomes caught up in a scandal that could potentially take away his career and could land him in prison.
Voice Description: Principal Miyamura has a deep and booming voice but his inflections are always in a friendly tone. When he is in more serious scenes, his voice becomes meek, especially when it concerns his students, who he genuinely cares for deeply.
“Everyone, please stay calm! Return to your classrooms and remain there until further notice.” (He is speaking through the intercom, trying to calm down his panicked students.)
“Oh, dear god! Please, please, please be alright!” (He is running down flights of stairs, trying to get to the ground floor as one of his students jumped off the school’s roof.)
“Help! Please, I need help! Stay with me girl, don’t close your eyes, please!” (He is clutching a dying student who throw themself off of the school’s roof.)
Character Description: Hirohi was Kodama-yami High’s student council president, until a grave incident happened where she took her own life, throwing herself off the main building of her school’s roof. Before she was a victim of the Erasure Syndrome, she was Shoji Fujioka’s girlfriend and was a fairly popular third-year student at her school.
Voice Description: Hirohi’s voice is struggling. For the scenes she will be in, she is begging for her life and she knows that there isn’t much time before she might die. When speaking to her boyfriend, Shoji Fujioka, her voice breaks constantly and waivers ever so slightly as her fate gets closer and closer to being sealed.
“Please Shoji, look at me! Listen to me! Remember all the things we’ve been through, all the memories we made together. Please Shoji… please… remember…” (He is trying to grab the attention of her boyfriend, who is actively ignoring her.)
“Please don’t say it… please no… don’t say it. Please don’t Shoji! Please!” (She is pleading for her boyfriend to remember her, as if her life depended on it.)
“No! I know you know me, I know you remember! Shoji, don’t leave me, please… please… I need you… you’re all… I have left…” (Her voice slowly becomes defeated, until she succumbs and her spirit is broken.)
