Introduction
Hello, everyone~! This casting call is for the Lore Video of my upcoming VTuber debut. It will be a few short scenes that will be around 10 minutes when completed. The story will be presented in a visual novel-esque style and tell the story of Ken L'Matia, the son of a high Nobel family, and the events that lead him to leave to become an adventurer.
Deadline
The Deadline for this project is November 29, Casting should be finished a few days following and we hope to have all lines recorded by around December 14th. If you are unable to record before December 14th I ask that you please do not audition.
What I ask of you in this audition
- Please have a decent-sounding microphone.
- No background noise, I don't think they have AC where Ken is from, unfortunately.
-Please record your submission with 3 or fewer takes submitted in AA-BB-CC format. Feel free to do a little editing to make your take the best you want it to be!
-I would prefer only actors who are over 18. If you aren't but really, really want to try all I ask is that you make me aware of this before or when you are cast. DO NOT, however, state your exact age. (Safety first kiddos).
- I prefer communicating via Discord, if you don't have Discord feel free to still audition but know I highly recommend getting it as it's a very useful tool for communicating with fellow voice actors.
-Have fun! It's really important to me both as an actor and director that fun is prioritized so if you want to do something big or differently feel free to in your last two takes, I only ask the first take be as specified!

L'Matia is pronounced (Luh- Mah- Tee- uh)
Volun (Voh-Loon) is the magic system of the world
There may be future lore videos produced with an actual budget depending on my success, if cast, should you be available when these are made I will make it a priority to reach out before any recasting.

So I'm pleased to announce something big! After much concideration I've decided to make efforts into getting a little bit bigger of a budget for the project.
After recording my own lines I've realized there's much more in this script than I had once thought and so allow me to transparently reveal the new payments + word count for each character

Salazar is the head of a family of mages. He's very stern and serious especially when it comes to the family image. He seemingly has nothing but comptemt for Kenneth though over the years he has become somewhat regretful over his actions, though doesn't seek nor ever expect forgiveness.
[Told of his son's total absence of magic] (Furious) “That simply cannot be! No son of mine could be so disgraceful!”
[Thinking as he looks at his newborn son] (Remorseful) Kenneth…poor child it’s a pity you had to be born so worthless
(Feigning being Unconcerned) "Then be off, clearly I have no reason to stop you, so go, Kenneth,"
Ken's twin brother also called the Imminent Head of the Family. He is a prodigal mage who spends most of his time reading. He has a sharp wit but a sort of flat tone of voice, his voice is higher and a bit breathy. He's not very expressive around most but his confident yet kind personality truly shines brightly when with Ken. Unlike their father, Nils truly adores his brother believing him to be a very impressive person.
(Neutral) "Yes father, of course. It was no challenge for me,"
[Consoling a crying Ken] (Warm and reassuring) "Ken, no matter what father or anyone else tells you. You're my brother you, are, a L'Matia mage or not,"
[Catching Ken just as he's about to set out for his adventure] (Teasing) "Well now, surely you weren't planning on sneaking away without telling me first?"
The Matriarch of the L'Matia family. She is a very caring person even to the point of it being overbearing. Despite her caring nature she often as a sloppy way with words that may unintentionally offend some. Ken believes she sees him as little more than a pet but in truth, she cares for the twins and their younger brother equally.
[Holding her newborn twins] (Blissful excitement): “Salazar! Oh, aren’t they beautiful!? I’ve already decided, this one in my left arm is Nils, and the other is Kenneth,"
(Lovingly) “Kenny, my dear boy it doesn’t matter if you excel or if you are completely useless, You’ll always have my love,”
(Very thinly masking her worry) "Ken-dearest, please take these blades. They're special, just like you. Stay safe, always know you belong here,"
Ken and Nils' younger brother. He is perhaps even more of a prodigy than Nils yet has a massive ego that makes him view studying and practicing to hone such power as a total waste of time. He looks up to both his brothers convinced they are perhaps the only people greater than him.
*Note* This role may become more important should future lore videos come.
[Excited to show Ken his new technique] (Cheerfully) "Kenny! Kenny! Look what I came up with!"
(Ego on full blast) "Ha! Just who do you think you're talking about, after all, I am the future Volun God! Stuff like this is child's play,"
(Pouty and upset) "But Kenny! What about practicing swords with you!? You promised,"
Sir Vexius is the head of Staff for the L'Matia estate. He is a retired mercenary who is a long-time friend of the L'Matia family even being present for Salazar's birth. He is very wise and stoic knowing he is aging he does have a strong desire to pass on his wisdom to anyone he can.
(Intrigued) ”Teach you? This is the first time I’ve heard of you taking an interest in learning,”
[Accepting Ken's request to become his pupil] (A bit confused but happy) ”Well I can’t simply deny a willing pupil, meet me here tomorrow evening,"
(Proudly) "To be honest, I do not think I have anything more I can teach you, congratulations, Kenneth"
A maid of the L'Matia state. She is very attentive to her cleaning and watching of the Children of the house. Often scolding Ken or Leof when either misbehaves.
(Panicked) “Young Master Kenneth! Please stop dragging the Imminent Head Around like that!”
(Scolding) " Oh Young Master Leof! You nearly gave me a heart attack!"
An unnamed Doctor who initially discovered Ken's lack of Volun. They appear in the first scene where they are weary and is already knowing Salazar will not like hearing of his son's condition.
(Sympathetic but tired) "I’ve checked every conceivable way, but as it appears all his Volun ports are completely empty"
(Trying to calm Salazar) “Arch Magus Sir, if I may be charitable it’s possible he may just bloom later"
