Story
Raven Blood is a fantasy novel currently in the works by yours truly. It tells the first-person story of a young girl by the name of Galley who returns to her hometown after the events known as The Scorched Earth. The rebellion against the forces that once terrorized their land disbands short after. Resting chaos seeks to claim the land under its reign. Before this chaos separated the land of magic into four nations of different prowess: visual enhancement, physical strength, pure magic, and summoning. Galley lives as the only dual-gifted being. A Summoner and a Mage.
The Project
Okay, enough with storytelling and on to the storytelling. I wanted this to originally being an audiobook but instead, I opted for another form of audio storytelling. The story will be told as if it were an audiobook but not word for word, leaving out significant amounts of narration, as well as including many environments adding soundtracks on top of some background music wrapped all nice even with a bow. I want to create an experience for the audience that's like watching a show but with your ears, you all do that right? Watch with your ears?
Whatever.
Rules
I'm not asking for pure perfection but a clear mic and Zero background noise are better for getting the part. [REALLY IMPORTANT]
There is no age requirement but there is a minimum of 12 and if you are on the younger spectrum please take this seriously, as we are too.
You do not need Discord/Skype/TeamSpeak, an E-mail is all I require. However other media may be used. [A DISCORD IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]
Due Dates are loose but still present, I understand people are busy and I am flexible, if you tend to be busy you must inform me of this during your audition.
You know what respect is, I expect it.
You may audition for the opposite gender role but please only do so if you can actually pull off a good voice for them.

Galley is 19, after losing her parents she seeks out the rebellion and together their forces save the land. She returns to her home town and reunites with her childhood friends.
I'm looking for a soft welcoming voice that is very cheerful at times.
A higher pitch is preferred but you do what you believe fits.
Also keep in mind, she is always looking the brighter side of situations so sadness will contain some happiness behind it.
GALLEY IS THE NARRATOR, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO BREAK BETWEEN DIALOGUE AND NARRATION.

Narration
We lived in a small old house, foliage extended over the sides of it’s worn blue exterior, almost as if the earth was trying to pull it within itself.
I brushed my hair to my left with my hand, peeking through my blonde strands to see his face. His glasses resting high on his own.. “I sought for the rebellion.” I expected disapproval, denial or full ignorance to the matter. A rebel summoner was unheard of till me.
*In shock, as if you just found the holy grail or something* “Alex, Calawither was my father's last name! Jacob is my uncle!”
“My uncle lives in Detlas, If we find him he might know more about who my mother was.”
Alex is the childhood friend of Galley who is...we'll say quite surprised that she returns 13 years after their home town underwent chaos and she disappeared. While Galley sought for the rebellion Alex trained himself in using magic arts in "new" innovative ways.
There isn't a specific pitch I'm looking for but nothing too deep. Anything from a low-medium and up is fine.
Oh boy is he genuine, so have that in mind.
*Long pauses to show disbelief, oh yeah, he's in disbelief* “My word… It’s me, Alex… It’s been years…"
*Light laughter, reminiscing [this is his childhood best friend he's talking to so be really reminiscent* “You cheated all the time, I saw those pieces of paper. About three years after you left I finally figured out how they worked and had some made myself.”
*Light disbelief slowly progressing into...well belief* “Never, I only heard of the battle. I was never given a name either, no one was.”
The character who says basically nothing! She is also one of the lead character's [Alex's] little sister, she cares for everyone and is still an innocent little child.
EMBRACE THE SMALLNESS
If you want little lines but still want to make the audience cry this is your role. She is little, I'm talking like 6.
If you could not tell from the lines, she's gonna lose some family, so know that is the emotion you need

Infinity is the main antagonist of the story, whether he is good or bad is up to the reader but for the sake of storytelling he is portrayed neutral. He brings forth extensive chaos to anyone he desires and anyone near him. He is not mortal, he cannot die, and he won't die. Now for a little of his past.
Infinity was created as purely energy with no form. His power was discovered to be endless and his creator was driven mad only moments after his creation. Despite being referred to as he, infinity has no gender. He later takes on the look of a person, ever changing as to keep hidden.
Infinity's voice may be whatever you wish.
Infinity must not sound evil nor heroic, he merely wants his way.

In the past of the land a drought and wild flames blanketed all corners of the world. Phoenix was behind this. A mage of epic proportions cast massive fire based spells to scorch the land. This was The Scorched Earth. In his reign he managed to form his own spell known as the "Re-birthing Flame". A spell that would restore anyone to full strength if enough time was given. He paired this in combination with a fiery blast making himself invulnerable whilst Re-birthing. He was immortal. However Galley kills him. lol XD
29 years old.

Hates, everyone. Literally everyone. even himself.
*Angry, kinda whining like a child* "No! No! NO!!! This isn't over, I won't die!"
*Evil monologue!* "Listen closely, and listen well. You stand no chance, you are in no comparison to this world. You are nothing! You have no hand over anyone! You are nowhere close to me! You will never be! This world has stripped me of my family, my friends, and what made me who I was. It deserves no mercy. Fall... just like the rest of them."
*Crying* "Why...?"
Authaereos is the grandfather of Galley with no recorded names other than Authaereos. He was the king of the Summoner Nation and is only in story under that title. He is regal. formal, demanding of his servants, and all a round a very respectable but bossy guy. He has two children, who at a young age are exiled to The Deadzone. He is executed for "improper care for his children" despite taking perfect care of them.
Most of the story banks on his actions he is very important to the plot despite not being a lead role and I expect the same presentation quality that lead roles are given.
During the story Authaereos is around his late 20s with two kids, he speaks to them unlike others, very soft and nurturing.
At a point Authaereos will speak of his wife (who is dead). He does not like doing that thing and will be very mad about it.
Authaereos will narrate the story during his segments, therefore you must have a separate tone between Dialogue & NARRATION
The people rioted, I made haste to my children's room. Their expressions told me of my worry, how much I truly cared. "Quickly, out of the castle now, you need to find Sebastian, he will lead you out." The children hurried out, they shared my panic.
"You must treat your sister well." My boy sat down on the tree stump, understanding of my words. "No matter the circumstance she is to be the most important thing to you, just as family should be."
"Sebastian! Hurry, find these children a way past the walls. I shall deal with the people!. My mind raced with fears of my children in harms way. I had to protect them. I made my way to the castle walls, motioning my guards to open the gates. I stepped out into the worlds view. My voice trembled. "I would say greetings, but I feel formality is broken between you all and I."
Jacob Calawither, the uncle of Galley on her father's side. He plays a major role in the story by uncovering the untold story of Galley's mother.
He is a well known author known for writing full length novels on past events of the world. He wrote a novel on the events of Galley's Mother, the only copy of this story had half of it's pages removed by Jacob himself and hidden for the day Galley found the novel.
Fairly aged man but any voice can work
Here's a plus, he actually has a name (Unlike half the other characters)
*Not too surprised but a little surprised* "It sure has been a year or two, yeah? Darling I haven't seen your face since the day you were born."
*Warm & Reminiscent* "Your mother. . . She was a nice one. Your father sure did have a good eye when finding her." *Sigh* "However. that's not what you wanted to hear. yeah?"
*Story-telling* "She was powerful, just like your grandfather. However as you have learned her power was feared and shunned. Sadly her brother did not make it far in the Deadzone but she did, she went on to find a new life in the summoner's region and had you. She found a solution to a problem you have had for a long time. . ."
James is the son of Jacob Calawither and the cousin of Galley, he is first introduced late into the story when Galley wishes to learn more about her mother. It is James who helps ease his father into disclosing information about her mother that had never been told since her mother's vanishing. James is very eager and always wants to help Galley when he can. He joins Galley's party for a short while helping solve the riddled past of her mother.
James is roughly 19 when he meets Galley

James is a very happy person, it should reflect in his speech.

*Enthusiastic* "We should get moving the, only more to be found on our quest!"
Galley's mother, she is a very rare character. She is very elegant in her tone and talks lightly in every situation. She is unseen throughout the entire story and her voice is only heard through "flashbacks". Her lines are rare and won't appear in many more than 2-3 chapters. She still plays a massive role story wise.
Her mother never says her name, nor is it mentioned by anyone else so dialogue will be slightly confusing. (Feel free to ask me for clarification on how a line should be read.)
She loses her brother to the Deadzone at a young age (12)
In most cases she appears as an adult but for this role she will be read as a child. Her age changes throughout the story.
"No sir, we've been traveling alone." *Shy, but seeking help*
"Zachery, we mustn't rush ourselves. Father warned us the dangers of such actions." *Worried for her brothers safety, attempting to stop him*
"Maybe one day we'll make it back, I believe we will" *Hopeful but not excited. Happy but not excited*
Mr. Kaelhart is Galley's Uncle, her mothers brother. He is in the story... well barely but he is important to finding out who Galley's mother was. As this role you will speak only in flashbacks when Galley is reading the tales of her mothers and her brother. Young and weak he falls ill whilst in the Deadzone and passes soon after. In his time alive he protects his sister from as much as possible. He cares deeply for her and would and does risk his life for her.
He sounds roughly 14 years old
He speaks will exaggerated emotion to influence people.

*Hurt, like imagine you have a literal sword in your shoulder.* "Don't worry, I'll live. We need to go sis. We don't have much time until he gets back... go!"

There are three Crown's Guards of a currently unspecified gender. However the three should talk the same, their dialect will be similar and that is what you should shoot for. These men/women are guards to the crown and should act like it. Proud and honorable, Strong and protective, they must show their respect of their position at all times and should never slip on that standpoint.
All three are in their 20s (Will be specified later)

This role is simple, you are the man/woman responsible for Galley's mother living her time in the Deadzone.

Silver is a man of war, fighting the terrors of the world General Silver was born to fight. Picking fights as a kid he never had many friends, only fueling the man in him. As an adult Silver lives through The Scorched Earth & Chaos. He forms the rebellion during The Scorched Earth and disbands it after the matter, however he still fights throughout the story (can you tell he's a fighter?). He happily allows Galley into the rebellion and later realizes the potential she holds in defeating Phoenix, of course this was before our story's present time, now he helps in the events of Chaos. A hero from afar.
The General is quite strict, being a leader and all most people who tell him no don't get their way.
He is extremely nice to Galley after realizing how useful she is, this is out of character for him and needs to be emphasized in his lines.
If you're actually reading this, say "seven" before you start the audition ;)
Silver ha faced death many times, not a guy for fear, he MUST sound unafraid of danger.
Just like many other characters his lines are only in memory or "flashbacks" so your lines are fewer compared to others.
*Chanting a march* "Stand as brothers, show no fear! Fight in shadows, disappear!"
*This is right when Galley is introduced to him* "Hey Jason, just let 'er in. Not often we have 'em show up at our doorstep."
*Yelling at a rebel soldier* "I don't recall your name soldier! Means you sure as hell haven't made any form of impression on me boy! Back to your quarters!
She's a teenager in the rebellion. He gets yelled at a lot cause he's a rebel rebel.
She is important though, she's comfort for Galley during her time with the rebellion. You won't have an insane amount of lines but you certainly have a big role to the story.
She's 17
Medium voice range, preferably on the higher side of the spectrum.
Oh yeah, you're a rebel soldier so...sound like a soldier sometime.
*Offended* "Yeah, I'm a door man, so what?" *Slide into a joking tone* "Not many people come to the door. Last time someone showed up at the door he became the door man."
"Kaelhart?" *Sound to show thinking* "I know that name.."
"You're a soldier now, you will dedicate all focus to completing the worlds dream. Their dream to end Phoenix.
The "Faith" are a group of people referred to individually as "Faith" who also refuse the rule of the king to come. After the death of the king Galley grew under the rule of, the following king was known for opposing ideals of his father and many of the citizens were aware of this. The Faith were formed and they rebelled against the new kings rule, ignoring new laws, refusing to pay taxes or in the case of the man of this audition, attempting to assassinate the new king.
It is your job to portray the rebel assassin as who he should be, a selfless antihero. Oxymoron, but so is he, often he mill make choices that better against his cause but only so later on they will better him in his quest to assassinate the king..
A 32 year old man but arguably still in his prime
Use whatever voice you want as long as the personality is portrayed appropriately

Cid... is special, just a nice little cameo from another story, Cid has a fair amount of storytelling later in the story when Galley attempts to learn more about her mother. Cid is knowledgeable and also a drunk so have fun with that.
The accent is not necessary but stressed.

"Ye're searchin' for nothin', she been gone years now. I know a man however who might know more, if ye're interested?" *Teasing at his further knowledge*
Sebastian is the Royal servant of King Authaereos and is tasked with safely removing the King' children form the walls of the region to keep them safe.
Sadly that is the last day he spends with the king, he later returns to speak with Galley after most events in the story.
He's a young lad! Not a teen but not too much of an adult. Have fun with that.
He's not a funny guy, serious but lighthearted.
*Worrisome but still firm* "Children, we must not waste time, your father demands you follow me outside of the walls."
*Understanding but antagonistic* "What happens out there is not of concern yet. However, you still need to leave."
*Sad* "Sir, it has been done. *Shaky* "If this is your last day, know it was my pleasure."
He's the tavern-keep! In the story he appears to be just some other person, later it is learned he holds a lot of storytelling in the plot.
He's a little old, but not too old...if that makes sense. He's knowledgeable but not wise.
God he's hard to explain...just do your best!
