Hawkeye: First Shot | An Audio Drama
Project Overview
Kate Bishop's life seems to be going nowhere fast, but that all changes when she runs away with the circus accompanied by her older brother. The circus is more than it seems however...
This is the start of something I like to call the MADU, or the Marvel Audio Drama Universe. It takes inspiration from the comics and movies, but still tries to be as original as possible. We have many audio dramas planned, so stay tuned ;)
Keep in mind too that the script is not completed yet, so it is unknown just how many lines each character will have, feel free to ask though if you want a rough estimate for those that do not have a line count.

Keep in mind too that this character is the narrator of this audio drama, so she will have long lines sometimes.
[narrating] Growing up certainly isn’t easy, more so when your father has blamed you your whole life for his wife’s death. Needless to say, I wasn’t off to a good start. Luckily for me, my father and I didn’t cross paths often. If he wasn’t working he was off drinking. For me, most of my time was spent in school or out in the woods with my brother, who was more of a father to me than my actual dad. Most of the best moments of my life were spent with him. We kept each other away and safe from our father’s drunken rage, but fortunate for Barry he still had my dad’s favor. They’d go on hunting trips together on the weekends, “man’s work” as my dad called it. I’d be left behind to take care of the household chores, I didn’t mind having the house all to myself however. When we did cross paths, it was mostly glares and orders like “get me a beer” or “leave me alone.” I could count the amount of compliments he’s given me all 14 years of my life. Zero.
[daydreaming] Must be great being in the circus, traveling from town to town, seeing the country, entertaining people, just... having fun.
[angry] Shut up! We’re done, you’re never saying anything to me again.
*NOTE: This character uses strong language, so if you are not comfortable with that I wouldn't recommend auditioning for him.
Kate's older brother who actually doesn't exist in the Marvel Universe...
This is a recurring role in this series.
[angry] I don’t care how you treat me, you’re the worst father ever! You don’t give a crap about Kate, your only daughter who will never love you! I’m glad mom’s dead! She had it easy, life here has been nothing but a living hell!
[sarcastic] Oh yes, loads, can’t wait to spend all this time with dad...Don’t fall off the tree again when you leave.
Damn, dad just texted me, he says he’ll be home in an hour and to tell you to get dinner ready. I’ll help out, I found this pretty great-looking spaghetti recipe on Reddit and want to give it a shot. We should probably head back soon, unless you want to get hit again. Kate? Kate, what are you looking at?

[Laughs a little] No, I understand perfectly, I was a foolish heartbreaker myself back home in my youth. We all make mistakes and have to live with them, and I bet your not-so gentleman will one day find himself regretting losing you. It may sting now, but in time your wounds will heal.
Nothing can be hidden from you, Kate, yes. Under the big top I am the Swordsman. Come by and visit me soon, bring your friends too, I can get you all in for free. You tell this boy you’re having trouble with about this and he’ll already regret not dating you, oui?
Not too shabby, but your aim is a little too inconsistent, you allow your arm to slip just a little after each shot. We’ll work on it.
Aim a little higher… there, remember to relax and release when ready. Good! You’re getting better already.

I’ve been hearing around camp that you just added two more players to our game without my permission. Remember the last hardluck case you brought in? He nearly blew the whole thing.
If they screw up our operation, you’re done. Do you understand?
Focus on one step at a time, you’ll be here before you know it.
Almost got it, Kate, focus a little more on your balance, that should make it easier to shoot.
Find your center of balance, and don’t look down just look forward.
That was a good first try, certainly better than my disastrous one. You just have to keep getting back up and trying again.
I’ll make a great big cake to celebrate our new arrivals tonight!

Fury, I think I’ve got another recruit for ya. [a pause] Yeah, I know you’re on a business trip, you’re always on a business trip. Listen, why don’t you put the kid on this one? [a pause] No, I think he’d like this assignment, nice and easy, plus there’s a girl involved [a pause] No, I’m not playing matchmaker, just get him here will ya? [a pause] I mean, how much trouble could she get into?

And Katherine, make sure to change my sheets this weekend, you forgot to a few weeks ago. I didn’t appreciate that. Can you do your damn job for once?
You let her go out without my permission?! And you’ve been covering for her this whole time?! You little bastard, how dare you disobey my trust! After everything I’ve done for you, how well I’ve treated you!
