Danganronpa: Lost In Distrust (Open Roles)
Project Overview
Lost in Distrust is a fan game based on the Danganronpa series that is being put together by a bunch of folks from around the globe. Our fan game is inherently non-profit and everyone who is helping out is volunteering their time.
Aligning with the Danganronpa structure, 18 high school students are trapped in a mansion, hidden away from the rest of society. Not many of them know one another, but they were all gathered under one commonality: Someone wanted to destroy the fame they had gained through their hard work.

How will this be released?

We are planning to make this into a visual novel so people will be able to enjoy it for themselves. However, we are also planning on recording gameplay for a YouTube series to be released alongside the playable work.

Are you guys planning on any paid positions?

Since everyone who is helping out already is just doing it for fun, to work on a non-profit project, no one will be paid.

What are the requirements to audition for a voice acting role?

1. You must be 16 or older to audition.
2. This is a long term commitment, so prepare to receive lines and be able to send them in by a deadline. We are pretty flexible if you talk to us beforehand but please do your best to make sure you can efficiently submit your work.
3. You must be able to display a range of emotions as your character- Please be comfortable with swearing, screaming, and old memes.
4. Make sure that there are no noises or echoes in your auditions. Audio quality will be a determining factor in casting.
5. Have fun! As much as we want to take this seriously, we also did this to meet new people and have fun doing it.

7. Have an Email ready to send us your cut lines so it will be easier for us to save it.

1. Please have some relevant experience with video editing software.
2. Be able to edit brief intro and outro cards into ~30 minute segments of gameplay by the due date or routinely discuss with us where you are in the process if more time is needed.

2. Be able to compose 1-3 minutes of original music per track, meant to be used in the game's background.

Music became her way of escaping burdensome daily life. To get away from her mother and father who were obsessed with “more pressing matters”: Politics. Not her strong suit. She would sneak away and play a harp for crowds on the streets until some brighter stars invited her to play on the big stages. She glowed in the spotlight, seen by all as a pure and kind person. She always puts others feelings and well being before her own. However, that could be the death of her in this game. Will she put too much trust in others? What could only ever happen if she put another's feelings before her own?

People from other areas of her city often went to see her dancing because of how passionate she grew to be. She often sought other people her age to dance with, just for the fun of it. But how will she help with the class trials when she’s too scared to speak? When her words stay laced on the tip of her tongue, could it be her downfall or the downfall or everyone else?

She started to dance to find herself a place in the world, for she feared of disappearing. She danced her way to the top, landing head of her class in the ballet school she attended and soon became well known for her performances. But in a situation like this, will she strive to help others or will she kill out of her worst fear?

She would overhear a juicy conversation or a topic that would affect a certain group of people but before long she was running around, scavenging for the latest scoops as they developed. She gave out information on her blog, catching and releasing the latest drama in her area. She was famous for giving everyone the news they thought was important. Yet in a life or death situation, what matters most? Figuring out the murder and helping your friends? Or getting out alive to help your fans another day?

He grew up in a strict family where his father demanded that he always listen to the rules of the house. He wasn’t allowed to laugh or make loud noises and must always respect others. He wasn’t allowed to help those who were less fortunate than him. But behind a closed door, all he did was endlessly search for things to make others happy. Will his lack of common sense get him killed? Will he make it out with high spirits? Or will they be crushed in the madness of the game?

He long had an artistic talent, but he never found a medium that he liked to use. He always did art for other people, while dodging a price for his uncertain self. He worked best with pens, but all the paper and canvases he had tried to use refused to end on good terms with him- Until he found a way to give people what they wanted and always be able to take it with them. He became a tattoo artist and eventually started to use his own skin to carry tattoos with him. He is a boy who was terrible at talking with people but wanted to assist others in finding themselves. It could be his doom or his rise amongst the rest. Is he a good guy? Or does he have different intentions?

This boy grew up in a family that was all work, never play. There was really no other way to survive. He found himself decompressing in cafes around the area he lived, watching old anime flash across the screen. Soon he was obsessed, even running his own cafe that was dedicated to this kind of thing. As a result, people labeled him as a weirdo for the way he dresses and some of the hobbies he has. He started to hate his passion. All he wanted to do was make his family proud and take them out of the hands of those who endangered them. But how far will he push to get what he needs for this lofty goal?

Left largely to his own devices, he sought community in a local funeral home. He took an interest in helping families create a proper atmosphere and ceremony for their fallen loved ones. So he eventually began to run his own service out of that home, assisting with the arrangements for funeral rites. Other kids saw him as sketchy, seeing as he planned for people's deaths instead of their happiest moments in life. But here, he felt like he could belong. People finally managed to accept him and he didn’t want to lose that. Will his desire to belong start to drive the others mad? Will enough people push him away to drive him mad? Is ‘the end’ something this path has truly prepared him for?

Almost everyone in society has something they want to change about themselves. He gets the job done. His interest in the field was sparked when he was young and his mom got into a bad car accident. Her nose broke and made it hard for her to breathe. To top it off, it was painfully deformed; the only way to get it fixed was through plastic surgery. He took an under-the-table internship into the system and has since enjoyed making people look perfect. But no part of this game was perfect. What contribution will his love for the perfect society drive him to make? A service or a detriment?
