Coffee Talk Game Dub (The Continuation Day 5 - 9)
Project Overview
Hello everyone! It's the Coffee Talk guy again. I’m back with more content! I've decided to play past Day 4 of Coffee Talk! We are making days 5-9 right now so 5 days in total (we did 4 days last time). We now have new characters to cast (4 in total) and hopefully one of you guys could fill the roles! Also, I copy-pasted most of the description from the last project so if you read the last one it's basically the same. The only big difference is the layout of the auditions. But besides that, it's the same.
THIS IS A PAID PROJECT
I made a Discord Server for this project too so join if you'd like!! (https://discord.gg/RaNqqU4)
So first things first...
How does the game work!!
So I linked the trailer so watch that first but basically you play as a barista in a coffee shop in Seattle that only opens at night. You make people coffee and you get to hear people's stories and have scripted conversations with them. It sounds lowkey boring but it’s actually pretty interesting and relaxing. Also, this isn’t normal Seattle it’s like a fantasy land Seattle with elves and werewolves and all.
How Will This Dub Work
So since I’m commentating on the game, as I would for any normal gameplay video I do, I’m going to read the lines for the main character (aka The Barista) and crack a few jokes for some entertainment. But for the other voices, I thought I could find some people to voice the lines since the original game doesn’t have voice actors. Kinda like the game, Phoenix Wright, if you know it. So basically it’s me making dumb jokes and reading my lines, then during the scripted conversations, the other characters will have their lines voiced by hopefully one of you all.
Auditions Look Weird How Do They Work?
I made the auditions a little different from the last project layout (skip to line 8 for changes). The old layout I used was not formatted properly for some reason and I didn't feel like fixing it every day again like last time. Because of this, I slightly changed the layout. I tried to give you as much information as I could to make it easier on you all since you won't understand the scene and mood if it was just random lines. On top is the context which, of course, is the context of the lines and what is going on in the scene when the lines are being said. This is where it's a little different. Below the context, it says "Read as''. This is the emotion and mood the lines are to be delivered as. For example, if it says “annoyed,” then deliver the lines as if you were annoyed. Then below "Read as'' are the lines for the audition. Use the read as above to know how to deliver these lines. Some of the emotion and mood explanations may be kind of confusing and I apologize for that. It'll be 100% easier to do the lines if you could see the character's animations. So if you're worried about the difficulty, don't worry. If you get a part, I can send all the footage and it'll make your life much easier, hopefully. Sadly I can't post video auditions here so I have to try my best to describe it for you. See below for my DM's if you have any questions for me. : )
Requirements
I’ll need good clean audio (so no background noises or buzzing or anything like that)
Preferably have an XLR mic but USB works if it fits the criteria listed above
Preferably be 18+ my channel isn’t very let's say kid-friendly
(But if you are below 18 and your voice fits the character well then that’s fine)
Try to get lines done before the deadline but I know life can be busy so just be able to communicate with me if anything needed
Not really a requirement but if you aren’t chosen but I liked your voice I may keep you as an understudy just in case the person cast is unable to turn in lines
Also not a requirement, but try and give multiple takes on your audition. Maybe the first take can be my voice suggestion and the next take can be your own interpretation of their voices. Up to you on how you want to audition.
Good luck everyone and most importantly have fun with it!!

Just a friendly reminder that there is about half a week until the deadline!! If you haven't submitted an audition or want to audition again make sure you submit before the 21st. Thanks so much for all your auditions again I appreciate all of you. Y'all have done a great job and I'm gonna have to make some very difficult decisions. Good luck and thanks again!!
Aqua is a very shy mermaid from a very conservative family in Atlantis. She moved to Seattle to work in computer graphics technology and she's also an aspiring indie game developer. She is the typical "shy cute nerdy" girl. She gets flustered easily and can be afraid to talk to new people but she becomes friends with Myrtle (aka ??? orc lady). So to sum her up she's the stereotypical shy girl who gets flustered easily. Out of all the new characters she appears in the game the most these 5 days. She is in Days 5, 6, and 9.
For her voice, I'd say you'd need a soft tone. Something that shows her shyness, awkwardness, and her nerdiness. But she'd still have a bubbly personality I feel. She wouldn't have much confidence in her voice since she's really shy. So it's like a mix of Bubbly and awkwardness in her voice. I don't have an exact example in mind but an idea I had was Laura Bailey as Tohru Honda. She isn't shy but she does fluster very well (best example I could find skip to 3:15 and 5:47). But this isn't an exact example so please feel free to give it your own takes on how she should sound like!
(Context: Freya is telling Aqua what she does for a living as a writer.)
Read as: Normal Response
Lines:
I always wanted to be a fiction writer.
But.. conjuring words is hard.
A lot of people have said that my vocabulary is… uncommon.
(Context: Aqua is wondering if Myrtle was coming to the coffee shop and Fryea asks why not just email her to ask if she could come. Aqua gets flustered.)
Read as: Flustered like she doesn’t wanna be a bother.
Lines:
Eeeeee… That wouldn’t be nice.
It’s not that important, anyway...
I just wanted to follow up on the questions her team sent today…
Follow up directly, I mean.
(Context: Aqua is talking to Myrtle about an upcoming game her company is working on and the long hours she has to work to get the game out.)
Read as: Concerned for a friend
Lines:
Oh…
I want to say please don’t forget to rest.
But I’m sure it won’t be that easy for you and the team.
Neil is definitely the "weirdest" out of all the characters. He comes from "far away" and is sent to Earth on a secret mission. He also always wears a spacesuit and the helmet he wears sometimes changes color based on his mood. Whenever he speaks he always says we (ie. we are not from here). Also since he's an alien he's not "technically" a guy but everyone refers to him as he. And since he's an alien he is very confused about how Earth and its people function. How they speak act and all that. Also since he's "technically" not a guy if any females want to audition as well feel free! Maybe I'll like your voice more than others.
So his voice is definitely the most "open" to interpretation I'd say. The idea I had in my head was like a robot alien voice something higher pitched. For an example, and this is kinda random, I thought of the announcer from the JackBox game Earwax (just a random video I found for an example). He's not human so he wouldn't speak like a normal human since he is new to our language. But that's just an idea I had that I liked, again feel free to give ur own interpretations. Also, feel free to add some effects to your voice if you think it'd suit the character. Just make sure you can replicate it again and try not to "overdo" the effects.
(Context: Neil walks in for the first time and the barista (me) asks what he’d like to be called. Barista suggests just sir.)
Read as: Happy Cheery
Lines:
Definitely!
You can call us whatever you like.
We do not mind a bit.
(Context: Neil and the barista are talking about how weird human language is and how bad their communication is.)
Read as: Normal Conversation
Lines:
Earthlings really need to work on their communication.
There are so many ways to make communication more direct and simple.
Of all the places we have been to, this place has the worst communication methods.
(Context: Neil was supposed to meet someone but they stood him up. Myrtle and Barista break the bad news to him.)
Read as: Sad but trying to still be Cheery (if that makes sense)
Lines:
Hmm... That was.
We are a pretty objective people.
But somehow Earth’s vagueness has taught us a new kind of feeling.
Hendry is an older nekomimi man who used to work in the music industry. She is also the Father of Rachel. If you remember from day 3 Rachel doesn't have the best relationship with her Dad. So he's a very overprotective dad worried about Rachel's well being. She's going into a solo career and it worries her dad (Hendry) since he has experience in the music industry and knows what it's like. He is definitely the oldest of all the characters in the game. His age isn't stated but I'd put him around the 50-60 year old range. So he's between middle-aged and senior. To sum him up he's an older dad type character who loves his daughter but is unable to communicate with her and is loving but overprotective.
For his voice, just a more mature father like voice. I feel like he'd have a soft but mature voice. Like he's a loving father but since he's trying to repair his relationship with Rachel he'd have a bit of desperation when talking to her. So to recap his voice would sound like an older man's voice, more mature. But add a lil softness because he is a loving dad. Again feel free to give your own interpretations and maybe I'll end up liking it more.
(Context: Hendry walks into the Coffee Shop and see’s Freya and Aqua and wants to ask them serious questions that come off as pretty creepy.)
Read as: A normal question
Lines:
Excuse Me, may I ask you girls something?
What kind of things do you kids like doing nowadays?
Aren’t you college students?
(Context: Hendry is asking Jorji for advice on how to handle Rachel since he doesn’t know how to talk to her.)
Read as: Sad mixed with desperation and frustration
Lines:
It’s just that… I feel that she’s getting more and more distant.
I don’t know how to talk to her anymore.
Or even what to talk about.
Everytime we talk, we ended up fighting.
(Context: Hendry and Rachel are “trying” to have a conversation. Hendry is saying how he doesn’t like her new manager because he’s shady and wants her to leave him. Rachel says he’s just paranoid.)
Read as: Frustrated anger (but not yelling at her) A Frustrated dad
Lines:
Not until you leave that good-for-nothing pervert!
I know Morris!
He is not a good person!
So "Agent" (not his name obv) is an agent for the Federal Immigration Regulation and Enforcement Division, or F.I.R.E. for short. He's in the game for like 5 mins then leaves so not a lot of lines for him. So an easy $5 for whoever gets the part. Not much info to give about him without lowkey spoiling things. He's kinda like a C.I.A. agent in the Coffee Talk world.
For his voice, just a default agent voice. Serious deep commanding voice. Not a lot of emotion just always serious. For example, think any C.I.A. agent in every form of media ever.
(Context: Agent is introducing himself.)
Read as: Normal Serious
Lines:
I’m from the Federal Immigration Regulation and Enforcement Division.
Or F.I.R.E., for short. (Spell F.I.R.E. don’t say fire)
(Context: Agent is saying thanks to the barista.)
Read as: Normal Serious
Lines:
Thank you for the help.
