Hello! My name is Megan, and I'm looking to cast voices for my ~3:20 min thesis film at the School of Visual Arts titled Bards Duelet.
In Bards Duelet, twins Kira and Keaton are set to perform tonight at the tavern, yet as they await with their friends the two can’t decide whose song is better for the show. Deciding to leave the choice up to the crowd, the two take to the stage. This musical dual gets more and more heated as they compete for the crowd’s attention, until finally, the twins start playing over each other, whereupon both they and the crowd discover that perhaps it’s better to play music together than alone.
This project is on a STUDENT BUDGET!!! (4 Dollars per line, see characters for specific line counts)

***You can audition for more than one role!

Young Adult (Age 21) - Trans and NB Talent encouraged
Kira is a very charismatic and mischievous woman, who can at times let her stubborn streak get the best of her. As the older of the twins, she is both protective and teasing towards her brother Keaton, and while she respects her brother’s talents, she does tend to get a little over-competitive when it comes to music with him. In Bards Duelet she is the one who instigates the debate over whose song they should perform.
Voice Claims:
Sailor Uranus (Erica Mendez) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5IooniXKW0&t=939s
Can you just admit already that I’m the better composer-my song’s perfect! (frustrated)
Ha-too easy! (eager)
You cheater! It was MY turn! (Angry)
Young Adult (Age 21)
Keaton is a charismatic and energetic man who can flip between having the energy of a golden retriever to being a flirtatious performer on a dime. The younger of the twins, he can come off as naive and a bit of a follower when with his sister Kira, however, he’s a lot more cunning than most give him credit for, and can be a bit of a trickster. In that regard, while he looks up to his sister, he can get frustrated with her always trying to take the lead, especially in regards to music. When Kira instigates the debate over whose song they should play, he takes her head-on.

Persona 5 Yuki Mishima https://youtu.be/bAJJ6Fu_QQY?t=64
Not until you admit that I’m better! Besides, your songs suck- (annoyed, slight sass)
Hm…a bard’s duel huh? (curious)
Yeah…Great minds think alike, huh? (content, happy)
Teenager (Age 16)
Chrysa is a kindhearted if a tad awkward girl who tends to act as the peacemaker amongst the group. As an empath and someone who tries to look at arguments from all sides, she typically is the one to try to help others work things out, though can get frustrated if pushed far enough.
A note with Chrysa is that she has a subtle, slightly unrecognizable accent, and is the only character I request ALL auditions use one for. Her first language is different than the rest of the party, and is the ancient form of her kingdom’s language. While I highly encourage you to play with unique-sounding accents to play into this being a fantasy setting, try and base them off Nordic regions (Icelandic, Swedish, Norwegian, ect), or Celtic regions like Ireland. Do NOT use a British accent for her, as these are too prominent in fantasy. If the accent you use is more of your natural accent that's even more welcomed.

Why not try flipping a coin? (gentle)
I think we’ve found our winner, have we not? (happy)
Excuse me! (annoyed, trying to get attention from someone)
Adult (Age 22)
Willow is a kind, excitable, and hardworking woman. While working in the tavern she and her father run she is often the first to approach someone she sees looking down, and is always happy to try and cheer someone up with either something from the oven or lending an ear. While she can very easily hold her own when the crowd gets more rowdy, she's first and foremost a big-sister type of character.
Voice Claims:
Pinkie Pie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcuXbe89ibo
*giggle* You’re up shortly loves! (friendly)
Did somebody say duel!? (excited)
Everyone! We have something special for tonight-a Bard’s Duel! (happy)
Teenager (Age 16) - Trans and NB Talent encouraged
Leo is a somewhat quiet, but highly intelligent and logical boy who tends to keep to himself. He's the kind of person who prefers to sit and observe most situations for his own safety, but when he does get involved however, he can be rather blunt, especially in regards to the twin’s antics.
Voice Claims:
Raine Whispers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ny23YcKShQs
Asriel Dreammer in this cover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FobrRO8EkAM
Just leave them- (slightly irked)
If you’re going to duel no magic! (frustrated)
I guess that competition was ok. (slightly amused, a little nervous)
Young Adult (Age 18)
Ray is an outgoing and friendly young man who enjoys causing a bit of mischief from time to time. While his previous experience learning chivalry from his knightly father instilled in him kindness and a level head, around his friends he enjoys letting loose to ensure everyone has fun. When he sees the twins arguing he sees not only a chance to assist in their plight, but a way to turn it into something enjoyable for the whole tavern. Whether that backfires however is a later problem.
Why not let the audience decide this time? (Nonchalant, partially unamused)
Just make it a duel for everyone else to judge. (easy going)
Let's go! That was great- (excited)
Young Adult (Age 19)
Eleanora is a formal and proper young woman who was once raised as a noble heiress. Rather formal and serious, she is someone who doesn’t care for the twin’s antics at all, nor Ray’s encouragement of them. Yet while she has the air befitting someone of a more royal stature, she is not unkind or snobbish-she simply is someone who prefers to set an example in times of crisis or stress.
Voice Claims:
Sailor Pluto (Veronica Taylor) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6toQk0TPZ_Y
Must you two argue every stage night? (slightly frustrated)
Raymond, would you please refrain from encouraging them. (scolding)
I will admit that you did well. (slightly proud)
