Band Pride is an upcoming original story-plotted racing game regarding band instruments turned into GO-KARTS! Depending on which instrument you choose to play throughout the story, your main band-kart will be based on the instrument you play as you go through personalized upgrades. This game serves as an important and motivating message to stay confident in what you believe in, because it will always come back to you. No matter how long it takes to find your strength and take a stand against musical emotional destruction, you should always stay true to yourself and stand up for what you believe in.
This is a deferred paid, and long-term project, meaning people get to choose to be unpaid or paid for this project. Discord is required for communication!
This has been in the works for 3 years, and now we're in full-production working on the game's trailer! Me and my cast and crew are hoping to premiere the trailer this July! We are looking for backup VAs in case of resignations and emergency castings, so we need your help. The entire script is already finalized and already sent to our lovely VAs, so for those wanting to be backup VAs, you won't have to worry about waiting. If cast, you could potentially fill a few open extras, if interested.
Summary
You, Devereux Dempsey, start off as a homeless and starved adult who has lost everything. While being the only family member alive, he starts off brand new into a community band by gaining back interest to play a musical instrument from when he was in middle and high school bands just by not only a piece of paper, but a flier that is served to many other musicians to be encouraged on joining a band. Your band director, Ms. Lavender, first finds you and becomes worried sick about your current state, so you are encouraged to have the best life you will ever receive as not only the next big musician, but a motorist around the world. As time goes on, you will encounter section leaders and other friends that can guide you throughout the game, including assistance from your band director.

Please go audition before time runs out, as we are halfway done with the trailer and we need lines for said characters to be done soon.

Thank you so much for auditioning for Band Pride so far, as I have heard a lot of outstanding auditions, especially a few which I shall consider exceptional. I will inform those on who's getting cast this coming Monday (June 3rd), so if you're interested in auditioning, PLEASE do so ASAP, as we are still stuck with little to no auditions for the side characters (Lauryn, Hayley, Marigold, and Rose). Allison notably has the most auditions, which I can't really decide who is better XD. Other than that, I am looking forward to talking to you if you end up getting cast for a role!

EXTRA CHARACTER
Messiah is the train conductor and in charge of the Messiah Express contrabassoon band-train in chapter 2 (SPOILERS). They are mysterious and vague about information about the Penguin Baker. Messiah's name is based on an oratorio written and composed by George Frideric Handel. Any gender is more than welcome to audition since we haven't fully came up with Messiah's character.

For extra male/female characters, it depends on how good your voice is but the voice range is considered an adult voice (ages 21-29). There are only 2-3 slots of extra characters open in the script! It would be an honor to have you join along!

MAIN
Violet is the band's female drum major and section leader for percussion. She plays the snare drum. Violet later wants to quit the community band due to Willie and Woodrow's tormenting behavior, but Devereux (the main character) tries to make her not give up her passion as a drum major and section leader.
Voice description -
Her voice is based on other drum majors you would hear in marching bands when giving commands to the band. Medium-medium low.

MAIN
Allison is one of the color guard women in the band. She will later play the clarinet for concert season. Allison is always pretentious around the community band, and tries to act like everyone is her enemy, let alone feeling insecure without opening up to anyone. She would mostly hold a grudge against Jill for being the clarinet section leader, and tries to get Jill to quit the community band.
Voice description -
Allison would sound like she owns the color guard section, she would act like a sassy and sarcastic adolescent when being around others. The rest is up to you. Medium-high to medium-low.
[self-centered, sassy] "I'm the best color guard the band has!"
[irritated] "Leave me alone Dev, I'm trying to practice my marching set!"
[pretentious, sassy] "I don't want Jill to be the clarinet section leader, I wish I can make Jill quit the band."
MAIN; FINAL BOSS
Reverend will be later introduced as Devereux's rival during the last 3 boss levels: All-Region Accelerando, All-State Allegro, and the Band-Prix. He is the final boss in the game. Reverend has a fancy and evil personality toward everyone, mostly against Dev (the main character). He acts like he wants to live a luxurious life with no rules. Reverend is a VERY important character throughout the game due to being Dev's rival. Reverend will first appear in chapter 1 as a masked person with a cape with bumblebee stripes.
Voice description -
His voice would sound like an evil young adult. The rest is up to you. Medium-medium low.
[sinister] "I want to win the Band-Prix, and I can get that trophy and money!"
[slowly becomes angry] 'I see you made first chair... So that's why I ended up with 3rd chair."
[forbidding] "You won't see the light of the road soon... *evil laughs*"
Lauryn is one of the band's percussionists. She plays the marimba.
Voice description -
[informative, uplifting] "My name is Lauryn, and I play the marimba. I'm also here for the cool vibes in this building!"
[concerned] "How are we going to fit the marimba inside the trailer? There's hardly any room because of the big instruments."
[aggravated] "Ms. Lavender would not be happy if she were to find out about Myron [MY-RUHN] sneaking into All-State jazz tryouts."
SIDE CHARACTER
Hayley is a tenor saxophone player for the band. She is best friends with Chloe {baritone saxophonist}. medium-high-medium low.
[informative] "Teagan is our section leader, she has a really good personality toward others."
[scared] "Are you sure there's no blue stoplights??"
[neutral] "I remember when I was in middle school band, I wanted to try out for the clarinet. But instead, I ended up with the baritone saxophone. I love this instrument so much!"

Marigold is a mellophone player for the band.

Scarlett is a mellophone player for the band.

MAIN
Jill is the section leader for the clarinets of the community band. She is later close friends with Dev as she is interested in him. She has a supportive and sweet personality toward others, including Dev.
Voice description -
[encouraging] "I will always believe in you, Dev!"
[encouraging] "You should go show those people in All-Region on how great you are on your instrument!"
[concerned] "I am so sorry you had to go through that. I never realized you were feeling this way until now."
MAIN
Desiree is the band's section leader for the euphonium section. Desiree strives to bring hope toward the other musicians, while becoming an outstanding, "pitched-perfect leader". Desiree's bright and rogue red hair represents passion, energy, and boldness. Whenever Jack procrastinates and becomes less confident, Desiree ends up getting into a lot of pressure by taking over both Jack's tubas and her euphoniums.
Voice description -
Somewhat deep voice, but diligently brings an uplifting personality toward others. The rest is up to you. Medium-medium low.
[neutral] "Hello! My name is Desiree, and I am the section leader for my wonderful euphoniumists!"
[stressed, calm] "Jack hasn't been feeling the same lately, that's why I keep taking care of his tubas lately."
[concerned] "Heyyy Jack, why were you gone from the meet and greet? You never got to properly introduce yourself to the newcomer!"
SIDE CHARACTER
Whitney is a bass drum player for the band. She is mostly the third wheel when it comes to Willie and Woodrow's pesky behavior. Medium high-medium-low.
[struggles] "Willie, Woodrow! Please help me carry my bass drum!"
[aggravated] "Willie and Woodrow are so lazy, *sigh* I wish Ms. Lavender doesn't have to deal with their behavior. They act like immature high school students."
[concerned] Man, what's gotten into Jack lately? He sure hasn't been acting right these last few months...

Whenever the game's demo and full release builds are complete, I will be letting you test out the game early alongside the cast and crew prior to release.
Band Pride will be made in Unreal Engine 5, and I (Director Dillon) am currently the only one coding this game, so I may need your help in case of potential bugs and vice-versa.
You MUST have Discord and a compatible laptop/PC to beta test the game.
Requirements:
- Must have Windows 10 or 11.
- Make sure your C/system drive has enough space to install Band Pride (estimate size is 1-2 GB).
- Discord username, so I can invite you to the cast and crew server.
