Audiobook Narration of a Book
Project Overview
Here I'm attaching below some lines from the first chapter of the book for the purpose of the audition.
CHAPTER 1: FOREST MOUNTAIN.
Sheriff Doug entered the bar with a bad attitude, asking for the whereabouts of Hark, their community leader. Because Doug's approach was rude, he did not receive a friendly answer from Rusty, the bartender, because he needed to state the nature of his visit. The table of four sitting at the far Conner, closest to the piano, quickly slid their money off the table when Doug walked in. The boys at the counter extinguished their good-smoking weed in their whiskey. Doug turned around and headed toward the saloon door, pretending he saw none of their lawlessness."Check the hospital; you'll find him there." The bartender reluctantly cooperates with a bit of information. Doug turned toward Rusty, then waved goodbye. Hark’s father died a few months ago. He is not looking for a job this early. Hark pushes his effort to visit Rachel three days per week at the hospital cafeteria to have lunch with her. He left no room for competition; he wanted his visit to look prominent. Doug caught Hark driving off in his old pickup truck, with stains of dried blood from over the years of hunting.Doug toots his horn, telling Hark to pull over. Can't you wash the truck? Doug asks.“As you know, I don't have the frigging time.”“I have been looking for you since yesterday. Where have you been?” Doug.“I dropped by the hospital to visit Rachel; I thought I told you that.”“I can't remember you telling me anything of that nature. Anyway, does she know what your intentions are?”“I suppose so; you stop me; you forgot.”"Hark. I looked you over a lot. I would appreciate you becoming my deputy. The community loves you; I believe you will get more respect than I do. You are a good man; I am not asking but telling you."
