Medieval Video Game - Intro
John Kennard for Guiscard - Voice Actor
Guiscard is an old (50+ years) French nobleman (14th century), the main advisor to player characters. Mechanically, he acts as a tutorial guy so a lot of what he says is a fictionalized explanation of the game's mechanics (taxes, managing subjects, writing letters). Guiscard sticks very much to protocol, is formal and quiet by nature. Because of his age, he is also a mentor to the player's character, and perhaps even a bit of a replacement for his late father. On the other hand, he tends to fall into excessive deliberation and shies away from making decisions.

Ahem... I, monseigneur Guiscard Abreo, chevalier, acting as overseer, welcome you, baron. (First line in the game. The character is stressed, but quickly returns to being formal)
Yes, my Lord? (This character often answers questions, so he has a lot of these minor lines)
However, I doubt we have enough resources to assist everyone since the scale of destruction is significant. (Character explains a complicated matter of what is the main purpose of the character)
