Important Info

Characters: Characters will be added to the casting call in waves. Wave one will include the main characters, and all that are necessary for the first episode. New characters will be added to the casting call before the episode they are in. Episode 1 will be covering part one of the first novel, The Dragonet Prophecy. -
Deadline: The deadline for the first wave of characters will end one month after the casting call goes live. Deadline extensions may happen if there is not a large enough pool of auditions to pick from for each character. -
Casting: No voice actor will be cast as more than one major character, as their voices need to be diverse. You can be cast as more than one minor character. -
Requirements: Casting will depend on three things: voice, quality, and performance. Your audio must have minimal to no background noise, as the audio quality must be consistent across characters. Your voice should fit the voice profile of the character you are auditioning for, and your acting must be expressive and believable. -
Activity: Please be present when called upon to produce voices for this project. Further activity isn't required, but much appreciated. -
Direction: Live direction can be done if you request, although direction will be included in the script. -
Contact: If you are cast, you will immediately be messaged over CastingCallClub. It would be highly preferable if you had a discord account; mine being moo#7944. Otherwise, we can keep in contact over email.

It's been a while! This project is still going on, but I have been busy. Since college classes have ended for the fall quarter, I'm here to tell you all about what is going to happen. Originally, this was planned to be a comic dub. However, I believe it'd be best to do an audio adaptation of the original books. There are a number of reasons for this, including: - The graphic novels differ from the original books. In my opinion, the originals are better. - Currently, there are many more books out than the graphic novels. - There's already a comic dub of this out on YouTube, it would be a more unique experience for it to be just audio. - I'd be able to focus on purely the audio editing. - People would be able to listen to it without watching a screen. Because of these changes, I will of course let anyone back out of auditions if they so wish to. I'll be leaving the casting call open for all current character roles for one more week. The final deadline will be the 23rd of December. After that, the characters that have been open for several months will be cast. These changes also mean that I will have to add a couple more characters to the casting call. These roles will be open past the deadline of the other previously open roles. If anyone has any questions, feel free to message me. Thank you for your patience everyone!

Deadline pushed back one month.
One month has nearly passed, and the initial deadline is nearly here. As I predicted, I don't feel as if there are enough auditions for me to make a good choice in casting just yet. So, the casting call will be open for at least another month. If you'd like, you could share the casting call around to friends or acquaintances you think would be interested, to get the ball rolling more. Also, just in case anyone was wondering, I haven't actually listened to anyone's auditions yet - I'm going to listen through them all when there are a good amount of auditions and the deadline passes, as to better make a good decision when casting. Thank you for your patience! ^u^
Clay is a young male MudWing and the main protagonist of The Dragonet Prophecy. He is one of the five Dragonets of Destiny hatched and raised by the Talons of Peace in order to help fulfill the Dragonet Prophecy. Clay is one of the most non-confrontational dragons, and in general is the well-meaning sweetheart of the group and acts as if he were their big brother. More often than not, he's thinking about food.
Range: medium to low range
Examples: Vinny from Vinesauce, Jack Stauber
(righteous, explaining) I'd like to be something more than alive. I'd like to be the kind of dragon she doesn't think I am - the kind they write prophecies about. That dragon would rescue her no matter how awful she is.
(excited) With a feast! There was a feast at the end of the story! When the missing SeaWing princess got home, her parents were so happy they made a feast! I remember the feast. They ate a whole whale. I bet *I* could eat a whole whale. Do you think we'll get a feast?
(in pain, slightly confused) Wow, everything hurts. Uh... Did I miss anything?
Tsunami is a young female SeaWing and the main protagonist of The Lost Heir. She is one of the five Dragonets of Destiny hatched and raised by the Talons of Peace in order to help fulfill the Dragonet Prophecy. Tsunami is hot-headed and strong-willed; she'd pick a fight first and ask questions later. Her singing is just as bad as her temper.
Range: medium to low range
Examples: Akane Owari from Danganronpa 2, Tempest Shadow from My Little Pony: The Movie
(singing badly) OH, THE DRAGONETS ARE COMING! THEY'RE COMING TO SAVE THE DAY! THEY'RE COMING TO FIGHT, FOR THEY KNOW WHAT'S RIGHT! THE DRAGONETS, HOORAY!
(sarcastic) This is awesome. I'm so excited. Going to see my very favorite dragons in all of Pyrrhia.
(mocking, angry) General, can I take a nap? General, I need a papaya! General, my claws are tired! General, look, a butterfly! SOMEONE IS GETTING STABBED IN THE FACE IF YOU DON'T SHUT UP.
Glory is a young female RainWing and the main protagonist of The Hidden Kingdom. She is one of the five Dragonets of Destiny hatched and raised by the Talons of Peace in order to help fulfill the Dragonet Prophecy. Glory is sarcastic and snappy, seemingly annoyed about everything around her. Despite this, she is brave, selfless and cares a lot about her friends. The tribe she originates from is often described as lazy and unreliable, much unlike herself.
Range: medium range
Examples: Veronica Sawyer from Heathers: The Musical, Ashleigh Ball
(sarcastic) Boy, I don't know. I mean, if you want to be queen one day, you'll have to be bossy, controlling, full of yourself . . . oh, wait.
(sarcastic, annoyed) How about a trail of cow parts, too? And a map of where we're going? Or perhaps we could set this part of the forest on fire, just to make sure everyone knows how to find us. Would you like me to spell, 'DRAGONETS WUZ HERE' in giant rocks?
(irritated) I don't believe in prophecies. Sorry, I know they're a NightWing specialty, but seriously? If you can actually see the future, why be all cryptic and vague about it? Why not give us a prophecy that's like, 'Oh, by the way, Blaze is going to win the war, so give her the crown now and don't even bother fighting about it'.
Starflight is a young male NightWing and the main protagonist of The Dark Secret. He is one of the five Dragonets of Destiny hatched and raised by the Talons of Peace in order to help fulfill the Dragonet Prophecy. Starflight is a serious dragon whom loves to read. He's an intelligent know-it-all, but can be overly-cautious and nervous.
Range: medium to high range
Examples: Dipper Pines from Gravity Falls, ImmortalHD
(begrudgingly) Also... Also, I am by far the prettiest.
(disgusted) Freedom smells a lot like fish. Which, to be clear, is kind of nose-curlingly awful.
(shocked) You don't have any scrolls? Don't you read? Do you really not read? Not anything?
Sunny is a young female SandWing and the main protagonist of The Brightest Night. She is one of the five Dragonets of Destiny hatched and raised by the Talons of Peace in order to help fulfill the Dragonet Prophecy. Sunny is a cheerful dragon with an optimistic personality. Her friends see her mainly like a little sister and often underestimate her, to her dismay.
Range: high range
Examples: Mei Hatsume from My Hero Academia, Misa Amane from Death Note
(trying to act) Um, right. Here I go, la la la, Queen Oasis of the SandWings. I'm so very important and, uh - royal - and stuff. I've been queen for ages and ages. No one dares challenge me for my throne! I am the strongest SandWing queen who ever lived! ... It's probably because of all my treasure! I have so much treasure because I'm such an important queen!
(offended, trying to prove herself) EVEN Sunny? What's that supposed to mean? I'm brave! I'm brave all the time!
(speculating) There was more to his story. There's more to everyone's story if you bother to find out what it is.
Kestrel is a female SkyWing and a member of the Talons of Peace. She taught and "cared" for the Dragonets of Destiny, being their harshest guardian. Kestrel is bad-tempered and grumpy, although only a little more than most SkyWings usually are.
Range: medium to low range
Examples: Holly Blue Agate from Steven Universe, Illaoi from League of Legends
(enraged) The prophecy calls for a SkyWing! And you bring us a lazy, stupid RainWing?
(mocking, frustrated, shouting) WHICH LEFT WAS THAT, USELESS? Are all MudWings this stupid? OR ARE YOU JUST DEAF?
(scolding, disapproving) You mean play-acting. You are too old for games.
Dune is a male SandWing and a member of the Talons of Peace. He served as a guardian for the Dragonets of Destiny. Formerly a member of Burn's army, he has a damaged wing and cannot fly.
Range: low range
Examples: Fuga from Fire Emblem Fates
(explaining) I'm not worried about Sunny. We followed the prophecy's instructions. It's not our fault she's the way she is. But the RainWing- He's not going to like that.
(explaining, disappointed) These dragonets? Then he's going to be very disappointed.
(scolding, angry, annoyed) I told you not to teach them that horrible bar song!
Webs is a male SeaWing and a member of the Talons of Peace. He served as a guardian for the Dragonets of Destiny. Webs is cowardly, but can also be very kind.
Range: medium range
Examples: Paul Kirkwood from Beautiful Girls, Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove
(surprised) Well, I never thought Morrowseer would come look at them! After he dropped off Starflight's egg, I assumed we'd never see him again. The NightWings have nothing to do with the war.
(guilty, remorseful) She'll never forgive me, not after everything I did. It's not just that I deserted her during a battle. She must know I was the one who stole her egg for the prophecy.
(slightly annoyed, dodging the question) Right, until now. But he has emerged a changed dragon, humbled and unambitious, who only wants to use his powers for good. So, nothing to worry about; can we get back to our actual lesson?
Morrowseer is a male NightWing and the dragon whom received and delivered the Dragonet Prophecy. He is shown to be narcissistic, snobbish and heartless, although he is also intelligent and resourceful.
Range: low range
Examples: The Lord of Darkness from Legend, Mufasa from The Lion King
(annoyed) Well, now I know who your father is.
(slightly annoyed, exasperated) What an idiot. Obviously you didn't get your brains from her.
(smug) Here's all the dragonets I want dead anyway. In one convenient place.
Scarlet is a female SkyWing and queen of the SkyWings. She is infamous for hosting gladitorial battles, as well as her dangerous, cruel, and maniacal nature. She is also quite vain.
Range: medium range
Examples: Mother Gothel from Tangled, Georgette from Oliver and Company
(fake upset) You don't know who I am? How upsetting. I'm *really very* hurt. Either I need to get out more, or you're not a very good spy, are you, SeaWing?
(thinking aloud, amused) A MudWing using his head. You don't see that very often.
(furious, demanding) That's *Queen* Scarlet to you!
Burn is a female SandWing and is one of the three rival sisters fighting for the SandWing throne during the War of SandWing Succession. She is the oldest and most brutal of the three. Her pastimes consist of killing, mutilating, and stuffing things.
Range: low range
Examples: Jasper from Steven Universe, Ursula from The Little Mermaid
I don't care. No prophecy decides what happens to me. I'm not letting a bunch of words or baby dragons decide when I die or what I bow to. We can have peace when my sisters are dead and I am queen of the SandWings.
(insulting) Ungrateful cow.
(mocking) So IceWing, is this egg a part of your *pathetic* prophecy?
This role will be constantly open. For general one-off background characters. Read at least three of the audition lines (you don't have to read all of them.)
- (disbelief) You wouldn't. No one would harm a dragon egg.
- Hey! Rude! You could have taken my nose off!
- You look particularly deadly today, Your Majesty.
- Stop right there! Don't move and put your talons on your head and surrender and claws where I can see them!
- Come out, you sniveling cowards! I know there are dragons hiding in this library! Show yourselves, or I will burn all the books until you die choking on the smoke.
- (panicking) No. Please. I'm not supposed to take it off ever. It's life or death. I need to wear it. Please leave it alone. Don't take it. Don't-
- (excited) Aw, look! She's happy to see us!
- So... maybe escape now then?
- (enthusiastic) We have such an important job. So important! When do you think she'll wake up?
