Lucas is a shy kid who lacks confidence. At his friend group's usual hangout spot, the Whale at Sengkang Sculpture Park, Lucas is afraid to club up the whale all the way due to a fear of heights. His best friend Zul on the other hand, can climb to the top of the whale with no issue. Lucas wants to learn how to become like Zul who doesn't seem to be afraid of anything.
Some of his lines have broken English due to the Singlish accent. It's intentional!

And now it's like- It's like he was never even here.
It's like he etched himself into Mr. Whale...
I wouldn't be surprised if his butt got etched into it after sitting up there for so long... (giggle)

Lucas! Don't need hold so tight!
No lah, come come! See! this is proof that'd we'll be together forever!
*Coughing* Yo! What's up Lucas?
Pei Xing is a supporting character in the film. Throughout the film, she ages from 8-15. She has a younger-sounding voice from age 8-11 and a more matured one at age 15.
Pei Xing is a prefect at school, hence why she always wears a tie. So she's a more nurturing and calm character because of it. She is concerned with helping out the shy Lucas and helps him come to terms with Zul's passing.
While she is close to the situation, she never held any resentment from Zul's passing, allowing her to move on quicker than Lucas.
