[CLOSED] "Welcome to Dubspace": An OMORI Fandub - SWEET & SOUR CASTING CALL
Project Overview
🎻 Wait! I thought you guys had your casting call already. What's this one for? 🎻
Due to some unforeseen technical issues, we need to recast the role of SWEETHEART. In addition, as we have been carefully reviewing auditions from our FRIENDS & FOES casting call, the director team has come across some roles that we'd like to extend the audition period of. Please note this does NOT mean that anyone who auditioned for roles reappearing on this casting call have not been casted for ANY roles. In fact, for most of the roles appearing here, the voices we liked best for them were ones we happened to already cast in a different role they auditioned for and would prefer their voices in those roles. This means we need to find new voices in order to avoid double-casting and triple-casting as much as possible.
That being said, we are completely welcome to and even encourage anyone who previously auditioned for some of these characters to audition again following the additional voice notes--especially if this is a character you particularly want to voice! Do your best, make sure you have your best sound treatment, and we would be happy to hear you again!
Please note the turnaround time for this casting call is much shorter than the FRIENDS & FOES casting call. This is an impromptu, secondary casting call we didn't anticipate needing to make, so we'd like to stay on our projected schedule as much as possible. Because of this...
🎀 THE SWEET & SOUR CASTING CALL FOR "WELCOME TO DUBSPACE," AN OMORI FANDUB, WILL BE CLOSING ON AUGUST 26TH, @ 11:59 PM CST. 🎀
🔪 What is "Welcome to Dubspace"? 🔪
A passion-project fandub of the critically acclaimed indie video game, OMORI, brought to you by a team of people who just really love OMORI, really love to voice-act, and really want to bring this incredible story with its memorable cast of characters to life! We'll be limiting most gameplay elements in our videos to make the series more "cinematic," and to encourage people to play the game themselves if they want to experience all of the extra content that can't make it into the series!
It's also important to note that we're having lots of fun with this fandub, too, so there may be moments of additional, custom dialogue added that are not originally found in the game!
💡 What are we looking for? 💡
As mentioned in our first Casting Call, we're looking for people to join our cast to voice many of the diverse characters the main team will encounter throughout OMORI's story. Most of these available roles are Supporting (HS Bosses) or Minor (Recurring NPCs). Any role not seen here has either alread been casted, or is a one-liner extra role that will be divided up among the cast once we have our team.
Please note that there is a GIGANTIC PLETHORA of characters in OMORI spread across two main locations of the game: HEADSPACE and FARAWAY TOWN. To condense our list, some roles to audition for have more than one role included so that voice actors can be present throughout the series. Some of these connections/double-roles are meaningful and have canon, in-game reasons that they are counterparts across locations. Some of them... don't and are just for fun.
💭 Is there payment for this? 💭
Unfortunately not. As stated before, this is a passion-project, meaning that even us directors are just doing this for fun (and also because we really do truly love and believe in OMORI's story). We also love to voice-act and would love to go on to do bigger and better things one day, so our goal is to also help each other learn and grow in a personal capacity, giving lots of valuable opportunities for practice and feedback so we can all hone our vocal talents!
🎹 Requirements 🎹
-
We strongly encourage at minimum, recording with a USB mic. While we're by no means professionals (yet), we would like clarity and quality as much as possible. If your audition does not show your best sound treatment, there is a big possibility it will not be considered. Careful sound treatment paired with a clear phone mic could work, but we strongly encourage recording with at least USB mic or better, should you have one. Limit background noises as much as possible. -
Do not SLATE your audition. (In other words, do not state your name in front of your reads.) - If you would like to record more than one take, please record them in AABBCC format, not ABCABC. Please do not have more than two takes in your audition.
-
DO NOT ADD VOICE EFFECTS TO YOUR AUDITION SUCH AS REVERB, ECHO, OR PITCH ALTERATION. General touch-ups for noise removal and clarity is fine and welcome, but ultimately, we want to hear YOUR voices for these characters and YOUR voice-acting skills! - Discord will be our primary method of communication. Because of this, please include your Discord handle in the description box of your audition.
-
OMORI deals with very triggering topics. Ports of the game have been rated "M" for a reason. Because of this, we are requiring that all cast members be at least 16+ years old. Thank you! - You more than welcome to audition for as many characters as you would like!
If you have any questions, please either email us or message any one of the directors here through CCC!
🎀 AGAIN, THE SWEET & SOUR CASTING CALL FOR "WELCOME TO DUBSPACE," AN OMORI FANDUB, WILL BE CLOSING ON AUGUST 26TH, @ 11:59 PM CST. 🎀
GOOD LUCK!

ALL CAST MESSAGES HAVE BEEN SENT ON CCC! Please check your inbox here on CCC to see if you've been offered a role!
Thank you AGAIN to everyone who auditioned! We can't stress enough how many amazing auditions we received and how difficult these decisions were... over the past two and a half weeks, the directors have spent HOURS discussing and reviewing and carefully making our selections. You are all super talented and should be proud of the work you did!
As potential cast members accept their roles, we'll be marking those roles as "closed" here on our Casting Call! You may notice that not all of the roles have been "closed" yet--that simply means we haven't heard back from the person we've reached out to! We've set a deadline for a response (September 3rd), but if for whatever reason we don't hear back from that person by then (or they do not wish to accept that role) then we will be reaching out to our specially selected understudies! Most likely, if any of these messages need to be sent, they will be sent on September 4th.
Thank you again for all of your time and effort in auditioning here! We're so grateful for everyone's support, and we're excited to get production underway!

SWEETHEART is a character and enemy in OMORI. She serves as a major antagonist that continuously causes trouble for OMORI and friends throughout majority of the HEADSPACE segments of the game. SWEETHEART has tan skin and wears frilly feminine clothes (primarily in pink and red) and adorns herself with hearts, bows and polka dots. SWEETHEART is obsessed with both herself and her image, bragging about her demeanor and appearance often. She's a very dramatic person and enjoys theatrics, following her every impulse and causing drama for no apparent reason. She also loves being in the spotlight and has a strong desire to be adored.
SWEETHEART is one of the most iconic antagonists in the game. She is loud, obnoxious, and over-the-top. While being careful to avoid peaking, please don't hold back on your energy. Ideally we'd love to hear a high to medium pitch for her, but what matters more than pitch is line delivery. She has GOT to reach the highest highs and the lowest lows--sometimes, in the same breath.
[signature laugh; be loud] OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!! AHHHHHHHH YES!! IT IS ME!! Hello, my stupid, adoring fans!
[reminiscing; full of whimsy] I was a young princess once. I, too, once thought there was someone for me out there in the universe...
[shocked; hurt] What's this? You reject me... again? But... How could this be? [with growing, seething anger] I... don't... understand...
DAPHNE is a character in OMORI. She is the twin sister of BOWEN (also known as OTHER TWIN), and is MIKHAEL's sister. Her family runs the bakery inside OTHERMART and has been doing so for four generations. DAPHNE has dark skin and hair, much like her family members. She wears a white shirt and brown skirt, though it appears to be a uniform her family wears in their bakery. Despite her nonchalant appearance, she is quite talkative unlike her twin brother BOWEN. She is calm and gets bored easily, constantly looking for something to do when she's not working at the Bakery. She spends most of her time with BOWEN. [description pulled from OMORI Wiki]
PREVIOUS NOTE: Note the English accent. Both DAPHNE and DOUGHIE should sound monotone, but not un-emotive. A little creepy/unsettling is good. Unlike a lot of other counterpart characters, these two do not need a notable difference between their voices.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Mature and eerie at the same time. One of the key things with DAPHNE / DOUGHIE is line delivery. She should sound like she's the creepy girl out of a horror movie... which, most likely, is precisely what she wants to come across as. She's playful and teasing and loves to prank. But her dispirited lack of hope in being able to choose her own future should also subtly play into her tone; everything is useless and meaningless... at least, it is--if it isn't fun.
[creepily; eerily] Our family comes to CHURCH once a week... Sometimes thrice...
[dramatically... or as dramatically as DAPHNE can get; "woe is me" kind of vibes] Hmm... Hmm... Our little brother is too cool for us now, isn't he, BOWEN? He doesn't even have time to play games with his loving older siblings anymore!
[with comedic timing on the last line, as "DOUGHIE"] Alright, we've changed our minds... We want to leave... This place sucks!
BOWEN is a character in OMORI. He is the twin brother of DAPHNE (also known as TWIN) and MIKHAEL's older brother. His family runs the bakery inside the OTHERMART. BOWEN has short dark hair which is curved at the left side and tanned skin alike to his sister. He seen wearing a white button up with taupe coloured pants, which appears to just be his uniform when working at the bakery. BOWEN is the less outspoken twin, having less dialogue than his twin sister DAPHNE. Like his sister, he enjoys playing games but gets bored quickly. He seems to spend most of his time with DAPHNE. [description pulled from OMORI Wiki]
PREVIOUS NOTE: Please note his English accent. Both BOWEN and BISCUIT should sound monotone, but not un-emotive. A little creepy/unsettling is good. Unlike a lot of other counterpart characters, the voices you give for BOWEN and BISCUIT do not have to vary that much.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: BOWEN / BISCUIT is not as talkative as his twin sister, DAPHNE / DOUGHIE, and this should come through in his voice. He should be softer, toned down. Not as emotive. He typically follows his sister's lead. They do everything together. He's just as playful and teasing and loves to prank as DAPHNE / DOUGHIE. Just like her, his dispirited lack of hope in being able to choose his own future should also subtly play into his tone. Everything is useless and meaningless... at least, it is--if it isn't fun.
[creepy; eerily] Yes, DAPHNE... It is very... regrettable... Life is so cruel...
[excitedly] Would you... perhaps... like to... CLASH?
[as "BISCUIT;" awkwardly] Well, this is awkward. This spiritual venture has been fun and all, but I do think it is about time we moved on.
GATOR GUYS are a group of characters and enemies in OMORI. They are the loyal henchmen of MR. JAWSUM, and are mostly found active in the LAST RESORT and UNDERWATER HIGHWAY. GATOR GUYS are anthropomorphic gators wearing purple-striped suits that cover their white shirts with a turquoise tie. GATOR GUYS are usually shown to be focused on their tasks, not wanting anyone to bother them. However, they appear to amicable towards anyone they meet despite their rough demeanor. However, it is also shown that they can be quite crafty and cunning. Despite this, most of them are friendly and bear little animosity to those who mess around with them.
NOTE: There are many GATOR GUYS throughout OMORI, both enemies and friends. This particular role won't be voicing ALL of them, but MOST, as well as providing a "standard" voice for extras to imitate when voicing additional GATOR GUYS throughout the story. Internally, we are calling this role "GATOR GUY PRIME."
PREVIOUS NOTE: Please note the Manhattan accent. Picture mob henchmen and channel that voice for these guys. Pitches can vary!
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Age these guys a little. Medium-low to low pitch might be a preference, with a rasp ESPECIALLY. These guys are your odd uncles/aunts from New York that have hearts of gold deep down; they're just the employed goons of a literal shark.
[sentimental] Gonna really miss you, AUBREY. Remember what we talked about, okay? Don't take things so serious all the time! It's okay to laugh a little.
[disappointed; reluctantly acquiescing] Alright... Your call, boss...
[mumbling into a phone] Uh huh... Three orders... Uh huh... Uh huh... I don't know... I can ask... Okay, so you want four orders now...
PAPA CHIP is a character and NPC in OMORI. He is an talking oven who specializes in baking cookies. PAPA CHIP is a large talking oven with pink and purple highlights.Jolly and cheerful, PAPA CHIP is friendly towards anyone he comes across. He also displays a protective nature towards the party. Despite this warm-hearted demeanor, PAPA CHIP can also be serious at times when he senses something bad is about to happen. [description pulled from the OMORI Wiki]
PREVIOUS NOTE: We are open to interpretations as to what PAPA CHIP's voice should be! Ideally, have fun with it; give him a "character" voice.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: "Any" accent would be fine, but bonus points if you try a FRENCH or ITALIAN one. Second takes in which you try different accents are welcome, but no more than three takes for this character, please. A little bit of a rasp/growl is fun. Be silly. PAPA CHIP is extremely chipper and friendly, but also a little pathetic.
[cheery; in greeting/introduction] I'm PAPA CHIP!
[desperate] Please, travelers... PAPA CHIP is begging you! Don't do it!
[dejected] I suppose PAPA CHIP is just useless, then.
The BLUE-HAIRED GIRL, also known as CRIS, is a character in OMORI. She is one of SUNNY's neighbors, having been to boarding school until three years ago. She loves swimming in pools, but loves swimming in the ocean even more. She is a big fan of the ocean and the beach, which may have originated from her good memories of being in a boarding school in an island. She collects seashells and keeps marine-themed decorations or furniture in her room. [some descriptions pulled from OMORI wiki]
Medium to high pitch is ideal for CRIS. She's the same age as most of the main cast (16) so she shouldn't sound like an adult or a child, but right around those teenage years. She's incredibly friendly and can easily get lost in what she's talking about--especially if it's something she loves, like the ocean. A chipper and warm; surprisingly mature and with a good head on her shoulders for being so young.
[friendly; in greeting] Hey, KEL! Oh, and who else is with you?
[sternly; but also maybe playfully] Hey! No peeking!
[bashful] Oh, KEL... You're never short on compliments, haha...
PRETTY BOY is a character in OMORI who is often found relaxing on a bench at FARAWAY PARK. He appears to be a teen boy or young adult who sports a blue and black striped sweater. PRETTY BOY is shown to be a kind boy who enjoys people watching at the park. He enjoys playing PET ROCKS with his PET ROCK, ROSE LAD.
PESSI is a character and NPC in OMORI who lives in OTHERWORLD. He is one of SWEETHEART's biggest fans, often cosplaying as her and claiming that he is the ultimate fan of the duchess. PESSI is a light-skinned humanoid that looks similar to SWEETHEART in appearance. He refers to himself as the "ultimate fan" and proudly expresses this feat to anyone he comes across.
[descriptions pulled from the OMORI Wiki]
PREVIOUS NOTE: Whoever voices PRETTY BOY will also be voicing PESSI. The biggest thing for PESSI isn't necessarily voice type, but line delivery. Capture Mean Girl energy with a pinch of K-POP stan. PRETTY BOY is much calmer and more composed. More friendly.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: There should be a fun difference between these two voices. PRETTY BOY can have a pitch anywhere in the medium range. Not too old or not too young. Think the popular, handsome "prince" of an anime high school. PESSI should have a similar pitch range (medium). We are looking for a range of emotion with PESSI, as PESSI is a bit more off the hook. He is eccentric and obsessed. "Passionate" is the nice way of putting it. This should come through in his voice.
[worried, concerned; as "PRETTY BOY"] Oh no, you look like you're hurt! Here's a BANDAGE. [friendly and helpful; prince of the anime high school moments] You can get more at the PHARMACY in OTHERMART.
[as "PESSI"] I... LOVE... SWEETHEART! [prattling] So much so... that I have acquired tickets to the most prestigious "SWEETHEART'S QUEST FOR HEARTS" event!
[as "PESSI," trying to imitate SWEETHEART's iconic laugh and failing] OHOOHOOHO-HYECKHYECK...
BRENT'S MOTHER, or the SCHOOL PRINCIPAL is a character in OMORI. She is a focused woman who values studies and education above all else and has been the principal of the nearby school for years. She has a very extensive and impressive library, filled with books of very complex information. She is married to THE PHARMACIST, and both of them are noted for working extremely hard. Despite her diligence, however, BRENT'S MOTHER also can't help but love to gossip. [some descriptions pulled from the OMORI Wiki]
PREVIOUS NOTE: A stern and authoritative kind of voice would be ideal for her. Medium-low to low pitch. She is an incredibly intelligent woman in charge and the mom you listen to and dare not disobey, even if she has her weaknesses.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Make sure to age her appropriately as an adult; she shouldn't sound too young. Lean in to the authoritativeness; she is a school principal, so BRENT'S MOM should sound pretty stern and intimidating--which makes line 3 when she tries to crack a joke all the funnier because it probably doesn't really come across as a joke. Her voice and tone should make KEL and SUNNY a little afraid of her.
[pleased] Well done, tutor... Feel free to come back tomorrow!
[sad; reflective] My husband works nights so late sometimes... I'm sure BRENT misses his father a lot.
[thoughtfully] I guess it's possible that two tutors would be better than one... [then, as if this is a punchline to a joke] as long as you all split the payment! Haha!
WRINKLY FOREHEAD is a character in OMORI. WRINKLY FOREHEAD is an elderly man dressed in a pale uniform. He can be seen regularly cleaning up around FARAWAY PARK as the janitor. He's also JESSE'S DAD, a single parent who loves his son a lot but you can clearly tell has a generational gap when trying to connect with him. He doesn't understand JESSE or JESSE's interests, but he's doing his best to support him as much as he can--even when their family doesn't have a lot of money. [some description pulled from the OMORI Wiki]
PREVIOUS NOTE: JESSE'S DAD is one of my personal favorite parents from the game. He is clearly doing his best, even when he doesn't understand. Even when he makes mistakes, he tries. He should sound older, because he is than most other parents, but not grandpa-age. Anywhere in the medium pitch range is fine.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: While being careful to not sound too old or grandpa-ish, try to sound like a well-meaning older man who cares a lot but is clearly from a previous generation. An accent is fine; what matters most is how earnest he should sound. Like previously noted, anywhere in the medium pitch range works.
[friendly; in greeting] Hey, pals! It's good to see you. Just going around sweeping, picking up TRASH, and wiping down surfaces... [hesitate, and then with less enthusiasm] You know... the usual job.
Hmm... Hmmm... Hmmmmmmm...[then, in frustration] Confound it! I have no idea what I'm looking at here!
[confused] Game... console? Ahh... Sorry, I don't understand...
YELLOW BUN GRANNY is a character in OMORI. True to her name, she has blonde hair pulled back into a bun. She is Charlie's mother and a very elderly, sweet lady who loves to talk. She's had many children in her time and boasts about their accomplishments. [some description pulled from the OMORI Wiki]
PREVIOUS NOTE: An elderly woman who loves to talk and reminisce. A little bit of an oversharer, but not in a bad way. Struggles with some health issues that could come through in her voice as she coughs. Medium to medium-high pitch.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: For CHARLIE'S MOM, lean in to the wheeziness with her voice. She is older and frail with her health issues, even if she can sound chipper as she clearly has enough energy to talk. The neighborhood grandma.
[worried; quietly] I can't really go to the pharmacist in this condition...
[chipper; fondly] You know, you kids remind me of two of my sons when they were young! Those two were quite different from each other, but got along very well. People would always say they balanced each other out... [wheezy laugh] Hek... hek...
[surprised] Oh, you came back!
