VARMINT - Animated Pilot | Casting Call
Project Overview
After hosting the first casting call here on CCC in late 2021, the final call is now here, where this project is in need of one last character, and a few other creative roles.
To apply for any role in this project, you must be 18 or older.
Discord is mandatory, as that is where the team's server is, as well as preferably Microsoft Teams for backup (optional)

This project is entirely volunteer, and there is no expected payment. Please only apply for this is you are 100%
on board to join an unpaid project. We aim to startup crowdfunding through Kickstarter when the trailer releases, but this is not a guarantee for payment, so please do not expect anything.
This project is part-time for team members, as your health will always be put first

Long-Term Project
Varmint is an independent project created by me, Sylo/Silas. Created in 2020, this project is worked on at animation school, and at home. It will be nearly impossible without a collaborative team aiding in the project.
The setting is located in the Arizona, Grand Canyon
Realistically, when will the pilot be released? Q4 of 2026 - Q1 of 2027

Cyril is an antagonist in varmint, and holds a significant importance in the pilot episode. Cyril is rude and simply just not a nice guy. He, like everyone else, has his own problems, but will only lash out at others because of this.

Funny to think a weed like you could be contaminated
Varmint's story and creation itself originated from music such as Indie rock, alternative punk, heavy metal, breakcore, witchouse, ect. You will be in charge of creating electronic rock, fitting the setting of battle/fight scenes or chase scenes. The story is very heavy in its themes, and should be reflected in its music, as well as character themes.

The story of Varmint is already built-in and developed, but not yet polished. For example, a certain piece of dialogue may not sound right or a scene may be out of place. With the help of other writers with experience in screen-writing or even novel-writing. Read through scripts and give your own input, no matter how harsh. Helping shape the writing vision by reading over scripts in the editing process. Please state if you would like to be credited as an editor or/beta reader

Flexible with any working programs, examples such as Clip Studio Paint Ex, Toon Boom Harmony, TV Paint, etc.
Help will be provided to you if you discover any issues with this.
Provide a showreel/portfolio that demonstrates you can draw/animate quadrupeds, adapt to styles, and have a basic understanding of the 2D animation production pipeline. You can also apply for this position if you are solely an FX animator as well.

Storyboard Artists work alongside the animators and scriptwriter(s) A basic understanding of camera shots and angles, communicating a scene visually and knowing what is and isn't needed. Storyboards are flexible in style, and you may work in your own art style if you prefer.

Working alongside the creator and animation team, as well as storyboard team. Provide a clear understanding of the fundamentals such as color and light, details, etc. The main setting are big garden-like rooms and hallways in the facility. As well as the barren, sandy land outside. This production's style is semi-realistic

Editing of the script and working alongside the voice actors to help shape their performance. This is a heavy role, and also a very important one as you will aid in managing a team. Because this role is volunteer you do not need to be expected most of the time, but you will be active between the pre-production and post-production stages. Working in the sound department.
