Under the Electric Stars Season 3
Project Overview
Under the Electric Stars is a cyberpunk podcast from Aster Podcasting Network. After a nuclear war left Metropolis West one of the last cities standing, Caine Reyes, the fastest driver in it, gets swept up in the rising revolution.
Like other productions from Aster Podcasting Network, casting priority is given to those who have the same identity as the characters, as we want to represent those identities with respect. If you do not extend that same respect towards our work and towards actors of color, disabled actors, and LGBTQ+ actors, you will be blacklisted from auditioning for any other Aster Podcasting Network productions. Auditions are open to those who are age 18 and up. No previous experience is necessary, though if desired, along with auditions, a voice acting reel may be submitted.

This is a recast of a role that was originally in Season 1 of Under the Electric Stars. We are looking for someone who can match the vocal tone of the original Valeria, though an exact match is not required.
Filipino woman (she/her), early 30s. Though she used to be more of a jokester, she now is more concerned with safety, diligence, and loyalty. Who she’s loyal to will change over the season, but one thing is certain–she’s willing to put everything on the line for the people she cares the most about. Now that she’s older, she tries not to show her hand as a fighter off the bat. She typically has a cool and relaxed demeanor, but should be able to express both warmth and rage as well.
Valeria will feature in the most episodes of all the characters on the casting list.

(coolly) I’ve been keeping tabs on you all this time. (then, vulnerable) There’s no way that I would just leave my sibling behind once I’d found you again.
(angry, but restrained) You know, it’s not like I spent all my time waiting, hoping that someone would take action. I didn’t waste it sending out signals that would never be heard. I made plans, I slaved, and I worked. Hard. For you.
(trying to convince) Don’t you understand that our life could be better? Here? This is what makes it all worth it, all those years apart, every crypto I saved, every tear that I shed? Come back home. This is home.
Woman (she/her), 40s to 50s. The magnate of Celadon Carbonate, a technology company that manufactures arms and surveillance technology. Her secretary and bodyguard is Valeria Reyes. She is all smiles that are hollow on the inside–she has a warm and friendly exterior, but no real substance to it. She is always interested in protecting hers and only hers. She has a mature and inviting voice–not matronly, though.
Cybil primarily features in the second half of the season.

(kindly) It’s a delight to be invited back to collaborate with you. I honestly couldn’t think of a better place to be. But isn’t that always true?
(casually) What’s not for me to know simply doesn’t bother me. What matters to me is the paycheck coming in on time, on keeping people safe, and on making sure my family is fed. There’s a simplicity to it that I find refreshing in my rather complicated line of work.
(with interest, slightly sinister) Now isn’t that interesting. One of my projects away from its box. Well, I’ll tidy this up eventually, but I’d love to see what this world has twisted you into.
Man (he/him), 40s to 50s. The magnate and essential president of both POTEN Co. and Metropolis West. He is rather charismatic and tends to appeal to people dogmatically. He’s a shrewd person, but self-centered, building his empire off the backs of effort that he has in no way contributed to. Has a television newscaster quality to his voice, but only when he’s in front of a crowd–otherwise, he sounds rather smug at all times.
Patton primarily features in the second half of the season.

(presenting voice) It’s such an honor to bring you all here tonight to another Class Upgrade ceremony–and in such a tumultuous time, it’s important to remember that those who contribute to the Power Of Technology Enlightening the Nation are really the true winners. So thank you to everyone, from every class.
(matter-of-fact) She doesn’t really matter to me. She’s disposable. I need people who are smart, work hard, and don’t ask questions–that’s what all the best followers do.
(angry) You think you’re better? If I go away, another person takes my place. It’s not what I’d prefer, obviously, but you’re not making any real change. You’re just buying time.
