Transformers Prime/Power Rangers Crossover

Transformers Prime/Power Rangers Crossover

Project Overview

This Transformers project is based on the Transformers Prime series, with a few various additions/changes to it, such as the inclusion of the Power Rangers as a way to involve the humans a bit more. Their stories intertwine throughout this stop-motion/live action series, and sometimes there will be other stand-alone episodes for this series that were not featured in Transformers Prime, such as the inclusion of the Combaticons and other combiners to give the Rangers a chance to fight for both Cybertron and Earth in a big way. Right now, I am looking for an official name for this series and talent for some of the voice acting roles.

Latest Updates

  • Official Series name has been chosen!

We finally have decided on a name for this series. From now on, this Power Rangers and Transformers crossover shall be called Transformers Chronicles! I admit that it's pretty weird using the name and have it linked directly to Transformers, but as most of the episodes are centered around the Autobots and the Decepticons battling, I always felt that name was appropriate. As a final update on episode 1, we are nearly complete with it! If you have not sent in how you would like to be credited yet, I will use your Casting Call Club profile name when I begin work on the end credits. So please get your credits in, and I will do my best to put them in properly. And thank you for bearing with me over the past year or so getting up to this point! Joshua Boston
  • Act 2 has been remade

We now have an updated version of Act 2. I finally have the lines for the Thundercracker VA, and so I added that, as well as a few more things. You may notice a few changes in there, but it shouldn't be too bad for you. Thanks again, folks! https://shortcut-test2.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/role_file/file_path/97181/Transformers_Prime_Episode_1__Act_2_.mp3
  • Act 2 is now complete!

Great news, everyone! We now have Act 2 complete! I had to deviate from the original script a little bit due to lack of a VA in this episode, and I had to cut one of Skywarp's lines, but I think you might enjoy this! In this act, we see Jason caught up in a pursuit with Jazz and Windblade, and then we meet Ethan and Gia before a battle between Bots and Cons takes place. Hope you enjoy it! Also, we have finally gotten the main human cast dealt with. We have a local actress with the lines for Gia, and Vida's VA will have her lines to me sometime this upcoming week. Thanks again for your patience, and I look forward to working on Act 3! And one more thing: I still need a good name for this series. Does anybody have any ideas? If so, please email me at [email protected]. Thank you, and have a great day! https://shortcut-test2.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/role_file/file_path/97146/Transformers_Prime_Episode_1__Act_2_.mp3
  • We are back in business!

Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing excellently! I have put this project away for too long (about a year or so), and I have decided to pick it back up again. Here's even better news: I have officially completed the first act of the first episode! However, I still will need some help finding human actors (I have decided to take the role of Jason). So far, for the Rangers, I still need to find people who would like to take the roles of Gia and Via (the Yellow and Pink Rangers). And for the other Transformers, so far, I still need someone for Skywarp. If anyone is willing to audition for those roles, please do so! I will have the deadline for auditions set for the end of this month. So let's get this pushed out and keep this dream alive! Also, if anyone has a good name for this series so I can create an intro, please give me some suggestions. Thank you, and have a great day! Joshua Boston
  • Production has now restarted!

Hey everyone! Got some good news. I have given it some thought, and now I have decided to once again begin VA production for the Transformers/Power Rangers project. I am planning on doing "screencapture animatics" from the official Transformers Prime show, subbing in the voices of my actors in place of the official, and then using poses of my action figures in place of the official animation for it. I know it seems a bit complicated, but I hope that it will help out greatly! If you have any questions regarding this, then please let me know. Until then, I look forward to starting this up once again! Thanks for your patience, guys, and let's get back to it! Joshua Boston

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots, who believes that freedom is the right of all sentient beings. He is portrayed as an Abraham Lincoln: fatherly, wise, compassionate, but strict and maticulous if need be. However, he is also rather stoic, with every statement he makes being a bold declaration. Optimus speaks in a "strong enough to be gentle" tone, as though he is a former Marine, and he must sound similar to Peter Cullen's interpretation of the character.

  • "Were we so different? They are a young species. They have much to learn. But I have seen goodness in them. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings. It's been an honor serving with you all. Autobots, roll out!"

  • "I have been foolish to not see what history has proven, over and over again. That Autobots and Decepticons will never mend their ways. If there can be no diplomatic solution to this... perpetual conflict, then I must not allow more darkness to fall upon this or any planet. Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost!"

  • "With the Allspark gone, we cannot return life to our planet. And fate has yielded its reward: a new world to call home. We live among its people now, hiding in plain sight, but watching over them in secret. Waiting. Protecting. I have witnessed their capacity for courage. And though we are worlds apart, like us, there's more to them than meets the eye. I am Optimus Prime, and I send this message to any Autobots taking refuge among the stars. We are here. We are waiting."

Role assigned to: Voice-Man

Bumblebee is the Autobot scout and is always trying to prove himself worthy of being a warrior. He joined Optimus' team of Autobots during the sacking of Iacon after volunteering to be a messenger to tell him the news of Omega Supreme's defeat and Sentinel Prime's death. Notable adventures during the War for Cybertron include him helping re-establish communication with the rest of the city, joining Optimus in an attempt to save Sentinel before death, and helping to take down the mighty Decepticon titan Trypticon. During the battle of Tyger Pax, he lost his voice after Megatron crushed his voice box and left him for scrap until Ratchet restored him as best as he could. However, throughout the entirety of the show, Bumblebee is mute, only able to speak through bleeps and boops.

Goldfire is a reborn Bumblebee after being killed by Megatron at the end of the series and put into cyber matter from the Decepticon's Omega lock replica. Now with his voice box restored and an upgraded form from his original Cybertronian mode after killing the Decepticon warlord, not to mention an electric gold paint scheme, Bumblebee has officially become the warrior he was always meant to be, and he takes his new name Goldfire with pride, trying to live up to the expectations that Optimus Prime has put upon him.

Goldfire/Bumblebee needs to sound similar to Will Friedle's interpretation of Bumblebee in the last episode or like Rodimus Prime, provided by Judd Nelson. But for a prequel series, before he loses his voice, he needs to sound similar to Johnny Young Bosch's interpretation of the character, as he sounds a bit younger and eager.

  • (as Bumblebee) "The Decepticons control the airwaves. The only secure way to communicate is by messenger. I volunteered. Name's Bumblebee."

  • (as Bumblebee) "Optimus, this is our home. We have to fight for it."

  • (as Goldfire) "MEGATRON!" {break} "You took my voice. You will never rob anyone of anything. Ever again."

Role assigned to: omnitheleader

Ironhide is a tough and rough Autobot soldier who originally started as a construction expert. He is Optimus Prime's weapons specialist and best friend, and a former Wrecker before the end of the War for Cybertron. While a bit clumsy first coming to Earth and all around rough around the edges, along with having a bit of a hot head, he eventually warms up to the people on Earth, yet wishes to return to his home to help rebuild it for the Autobot cause.

To get the voice of Ironhide down, please refer to Soldier 76's voice from Overwatch, provided by Fred Tatasciore. You may also refer to another version of the character from the live action movies, provided by Jess Harnell, as well as the G1 interpretation by Peter Cullen.

  • "War isn't a game. So stop jumping into action and cool your circuits. Otherwise, you'll just be another casualty, which we cannot afford."

  • "Earth. I've gone through a lot for both you and Cybertron... Hope you appreciate it."

  • "Old soldiers are hard to kill."

Windblade is a patriot of the Cybertronian colony world Caminus, and she is an honorable warrior for her home. She has a bit of a rivalry with the Decepticon Thundercracker and a long-harmed feud with the Decepticon Blackarachnia, with the latter one killing her mentor, Anakin, some time before she arrived on Earth. Windblade prefers to use her sword instead of a blaster to honor her aerial friends: a splinter faction of Aerialbots called the Jedi, all of whom were destroyed during the war for Cybertron. The toll of losing so many comrades has the Cybertronian samurai conflicted and rough to begin with, often trying to strike out on her own and fight Decepticons that way, but, if people get to know her, they may find a very caring and compassionate Autobot deep down inside.

For this voice, Windblade needs to sound like she is bitter at first, but eventually warms up to Earth. She needs to sound caring, but strong during a battle. You may refer to the voice portrayals by Kristy Wu in Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) or Sumalee Montano as Arcee in Transfomers Prime to get a good idea for what the character should sound like. A Japanese accent is also suggested, but not required.

  • "Optimus, with all due respect, playing bodyguard is one thing, but babysitting's another. Besides, Ratchet hasn't been in the field since the war."

  • "I was out for revenge for my fellow Jedi brethren! And I got it."

  • "I'm not afraid of you, Starscream. You're no Megatron."

Ratchet is the Autobot's medic and scientist, and Optimus Prime's oldest friend. He is a gruff Autobot who constantly grieves the loss of Cybertron and doesn't necessarily like working with humans at first, but eventually warms up to them. While mostly in the background, transporting the other Autobots via the spacebridge and mending their wounds, he is also a formidable warrior who cares for his home world, as well as the humans who live on Earth.

For this role, you may refer to Jeffery Combs' performance in Transformers Prime for inspiration and try to emulate that.

  • "IRONHIDE! I NEEDED THAT!"

  • "You want me to not only bridge you into a confined space, but one traveling over 90 miles per hour? I can't even count the number of ways that can go wrong! Mass displacement trauma, twisted limbs, metal burn... well, maybe not the last one."

  • "I don't rely upon my t-cog. Not like Bumblebee does. The ability to transform is virtually wasted upon me. This is where I spend my days, where my thoughts and hands are of value, not my weapons or wheels. Our team cannot afford to be shy even one member in the field."

Cliffjumper is an Autobot who is partners with Windblade as the show begins, and is both a great brawler and great sniper. However, he can be a bit too cocky and brash, and this ultimately leads to his unfortunate death halfway through the beginning episode of the series.

The Rock voiced Cliffjumper on the Transformers Prime pilot episode: "Darkness Rising, Part 1," and was later re-cast in a flashback in Season 2 by Billy Brown. You will have to emulate either/or to get a good feel for the Cybertronian interpretation of the Brahma Bull.

  • "So there I am on the lookout, when out of nowhere, these high beams light up my rearview, and then it hits me: I'm illegally parked."

  • "Bingo! So the local rolly-polys do their thing, and I let them get all the way down the block. That's when I kick off my new shiny shoe, and... BANG!"

Jazz is a minor-supporting Autobot who shows up when Optimus needs another man on deck. A former enforcer during the war for Cybertron, he is one of the first Autobots to arrive on Earth, and easily and quickly adapted to life on the planet, particularly with his love and enjoyment for music from live rock concerts. Sometimes he loves going for a quick run with his fellow companions and being a mentor to the Power Rangers, but his real passion is fighting Decepticons with his light shows and loud music from his speakers. Jazz's voice is a cool and funky tone who loves both planets and what both have to offer, caring for his teammates but always able to keep a smooth beat going.

Jazz's voice was originally provided by the late Scatman Crothers, and you may refer to the G1 performances by the late actor/musician. You may also look at other versions of Jazz, such as from the live action movies or the Fall of Cybertron videogame, with the latter role being played by Troy Baker.

  • "Man, if I could put on a light show THAT cool, I'd dazzle multitudes of music lovers!"

  • "Okay, Decepti-crumbs! It's showtime! Time to get down on the Final Forty!"

  • "Whoa! Bruticus! Man, you are even uglier up close."

Sideswipe is an Autobot who is always reckless and lives up to the title of being a Wrecker. He is best friends with Ironhide, and always seems to have a knack for action. Always itching for a fight against the Decepticons, Sideswipe usually likes to go solo and take out Decepticons across the galaxy, piloting his famed ship, the Jackhammer. Tensions with Ultra Magnus caused Sideswipe to leave the Wreckers before the Autobots took off for Earth, and his gung-ho persona sometimes rubs his fellow Autobots the wrong way.

Sideswipe's voice is similar to that of TFP's Wheeljack, but you may also refer to Michael Bell and Travis Willingham's interpretations of the character in the G1 and War for Cybertron video game series respectively.

  • "I don't break rules. I bend them... a lot!"

  • "Well, we took the extended tour. Saw the sights, killed some bad guys, the usual."

  • "Do your worst, doc. I'm a Wrecker. I can take it."

Roadbuster is a rookie Autobot who graduated from the Autobot Elite Guard Acadamy before the war shifted to Earth. He served under Alpha Trion as his bodyguard, yearning for action. Although young and carefree, Roadbuster eventually understands that sometimes being in the field is not as glamorous as he thought.

Roadbuster is a young upstart, and as such, his voice needs to be similar to that of Cheetor from Beast Wars, provided by Ian James Corlett, or Smokescreen from TFP, provided by Nolan North. You may also look into Judd Nelson's interpretation of Hot Rod from the G1 and Animated cartoons, as well as Hot Shot from Transformers: Cybertron.

  • (excited) "Wait. I know you. You're Optimus Prime! Hey everyone! Look! It's the real Optimus Prime!"

  • "Assist. That's what the new guy's for. And for the record, I studied all of the Wreckers' battles."

  • (overwhelmed but concerned) "I... I can't do this. I mean, sure, who wouldn't want to be a Prime? But... I'm really not ready for that kind of responsibility, Optimus.

Ultra Magnus is Optimus Prime's personally trained second-in-command and commander of the Autobot Elite Guard. He takes his duty seriously, and is willing to step in when Optimus is absent. Although stern and seemingly stoic like any commander, Magnus eventually learns the importance of family and begins to open up by the show's end. Magnus is a loyal and tactful combatant, and the Decepticons seem to fear him about as much as Optimus Prime. Tensions with Sideswipe when Magnus took over the Wreckers gave him a bad reputation with the loose cannon, but he eventually warms up to him and Ironhide and creates a new Wreckers team with them and Pink Ranger Vida Rocca.

Ultra Magnus is a strict commander, and his voice was originally provided by Michael Ironside for TFP. You may refer to his role for inspiration, but you can also look at the G1 version from both the 1986 movie and the third season of the Transformers G1 cartoon.

  • "Allow me to make myself perfectly clear, soldier. As Optimus Prime's second-in-command, I have no intentions of tolerating Wrecker behavior. Need I remind you that it was Optimus Prime himself who assigned me to your Wreckers and get you loose cannons under control? An effective combat team begins with discipline. If you won't accept that, then feel free to choose the path of least resistance, as you did before."

  • "I agree with the native life form. We must keep with the mission, with or without Optimus Prime."

  • "Cybertron will repopulate in time, kid. You have to remember: refugees could be returning from lightyears away."

Anakin was one of the high-ranking members of the Jedi splinter faction from the Autobot Air Force. He used to work with Anakin, and helped train a few members, including Ahsoka (who went on to help the Autobots leave Cybertron with Jetfire's squad and was one of the unfortunate victims to a hard-charging Bruticus) and later Windblade, who became his partner during the final days of the war on Cybertron. However, he could not escape death, and he went out a hero after being killed by Blackarachnia.

Anakin's voice needs to sound similar to his interpretation in the Clone Wars animated series, as delivered by actor Matt Lanter.

  • "Windblade, you're lost again? You know, your sense of direction could use some improvement."

  • "I'm sorry to disagree. But as long as we are still acting as the Autobots' Air Force, we still need to report to Magnus or Prime, even on internal matters such as this."

Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, is a power-hungry bot who wishes to restore Cybertron in his own image, by any means necessary. He believes that peace can only be achieved through brute force, given his training as a gladiator in the pits of Kaon, and he wages war on all who opposes him through his army of followers. As one who rules with an iron fist, he is often referred to by his followers as "Lord Megatron." Megatron was once brothers-in-arms with Optimus Prime before their differing ideologies drove them apart, and Megatron went down a dark path, his dream of a peaceful Cybertron severely skewed into something evil.

An emulation of Frank Welker's performances is recommended, but not necessarily required. You may also refer to Hugo Weaving, Corey Burton, David Kaye, and Fred Tatasciore's interpretations of the famous Decepticon leader as inspiration for the role.

  • "I knew you couldn't resist rescuing Sentinel Prime, which is why I orchestrated the entire thing. Sentinel contacting you. Your capture. All of it. All to bring you here before me. Welcome to your defeat, Autobots. Decepticons! Annihilate them!"

  • "Don't flatter yourself, Optimus. What I do, I do for all of Cybertron. My orbital station is now back online, allowing me to create an infinite supply of energy for the Dark Spark. I will use that power and achieve my goal of restoring Cybertron to its former glory at any costs!"

  • "OUR war, Optimus. A war that I am winning. I have tamed the great Omega Supreme. Sentinel and the other Primes have fallen. And yet you, a simple data clerk at heart, continue to resist me. You have the power to end this conflict here with one simple choice. Take your Autobots and leave Cybertron forever. Or stay, and face total annihilation."

Role assigned to: omnitheleader

Starscream is Megatron's right-hand man, and Decepticon commander in his absence, whose ambitions are to seize control of the Decepticons and overthrow Megatron to defeat the Autobots by any means necessary. But though he talks a big game, he is a coward at heart, and when his schemes ultimately fail, he resorts to whimpering, cowering, and pleading for mercy from Megatron to ensure that he didn't get rid of him for long. He leads a small splinter faction of Decepticons called the Seekers, with two of them, Thundercracker and Skywarp, as his personal wingmen and enforcers.

Starscream's voice needs to balance the feeling of ambitious backstabbing underling and hapless cowering shmuck, yet still be a threat to the Autobots. You may refer to Steve Blum's performance in TFP for inspiration, but you may also look into the live action movies and other performances of this famous character, including the late Chris Latta's G1 performance.

  • "That imbecile thinks that I am expendable? ME!?! He'll soon learn never to underestimate Starscream!"

  • "I live to serve you, Lord Megatron."

  • "The loss of Megatron, leader of the great Decepticon uprising, is certainly a blow to our cause. Yet, we mustn't despair over his tragic demise, but instead embrace his ultimate sacriface and build upon the foundation he laid, with an even mightier hand. I studied for millenia under our former master. Thus, I am equipped to lead you, I, Megatron's true heir. Lord Starscream, Emperor of Destruction!"

Role assigned to: RichardHunslet1963

Soundwave is one of Megatron's most loyal followers and is mostly mute throughout the entire series, which has been explained by ancillary media by Hasbro as a vow of silence to prove that actions speak louder than words. However, he proves that he is very effective and tactical in combat, sabotaging, and in communications, and all the while looking menacing and heartless throughout.

When Soundwave speaks, it is in random places, but it is most prominently featured a few episodes away from the end of the series, when he crashes his own drives and says the final audition line to the Autobots. Originally provided by Frank Welker, you may need to use an emulation of the live action movie interpretation of the character for the lines, but they will need to be edited in such a way that it sounds like the G1 or War for Cybertron videogame incarnations.

  • "Lord Megatron, in his damaged state, Trypticon's alternate form will become permanent."

  • "Laserbeak: eject. Operation: observation."

  • "Soundwave superior. Autobots inferior."

Thundercracker is one of Starscream's Seekers, and the only one to have an Earth-based vehicle mode. He seems to have a bit of a qualm with Windblade after the Battle of Polyhex, during which she managed to slice one of his arms completely off and leave him for dead. Thundercracker's loyalty is to the Decepticon cause, but he sometimes questions if what they are doing is right for Cybertron. However, in vehicle mode, he has the power to generate sonic booms and knock the Autobots' air superiority down or temporarily deafen them.

Thundercracker's voice needs to sound dark and bitter. You may refer to the original G1 voice or the voice from the War for Cybertron video game. You may also use inspiration from the live action movie Starscream's voice, provided by actor Charlie Adler.

  • "Crude Energon is highly volatile, and flying this close to it is extremely dangerous. We should proceed with caution."

  • "You and I still have a score to settle, Windblade!"

  • "My loyalty to Starscream only goes so far. Tampering with Plasma Energy to overthrow Lord Megatron? That's madness! No one should have that stuff. You want to get it, that's fine. So long as you promise to get rid of it!"

Skywarp is one of Starscream's seekers and the supposed top spy for Megatron. Even through the war, he is the only one of the three to keep his root form consistent. Despite this, he has proven himself a worthy combatant when necessary and has a special ability to turn invisible and/or teleport to different locations.

Skywarp is somewhat comedic, but his voice still needs to sound like he can be taken seriously. You may refer to his G1 voice or Tom Kenny's Starscream portrayal, as well as looking into the Transformers Cybertron Sideways voice, for inspiration.

  • "The humans employ far better designs on their vehicles than on themselves. What a backwards world."

  • "Dumber than Skywarp!?! I'll show you dumb, Starscream!"

Megatron often sends Barricade out for courier and sabotage missions for ground units.

Barricade's voice needs to be strong enough to scare someone, and thensome. His live action voice portrayal by Jess Harnell may be used as a reference point for inspiration. You may also use the Ben Affleck Batman voice for him, as that is the darkest interpretation of Batman yet.

  • "Are you username Ladiesman217?" {break} "ARE YOU USERNAME LADIESMAN217!?!"

Onslaught's voice needs to sound intelligent but powerful. You may refer to Travis Willingham's performance of this character from the Fall of Cybertron videogame.

  • "We need to take control of this ship! Combaticons, combine into Bruticus!"

Swindle's portrayal in Fall of Cybertron by Steve Blum may be used for inspiration, but you may also look into his G1 series voice provided by Johnny Haymer.

  • "No sign of the bug. Oh well. Can't say I'm sorry to see him go."

Unlike Starscream, however, he keeps these thoughts to himself and is always willing to make a special kill in the name of his superiority.

Blast Off's voice needs to sounds like he is always conceited, proud and boastful. You may use inspiration from either the US or UK dubs for Gordon in the Thomas and Friends CGI series. I recommend watching some episodes from Seasons 17-20 to get an idea for what I am envisioning for Blast Off.

  • "I'm not coming down there till you take out those enforcers, Swindle. I'd scratch my chrome."

It may also be believed that he is a staunch atheist, and it possibly shows with his lack of emotion.

Shockwave's voice needs to be cold, dark, and brooding. You may refer to the Corey Burton performances from G1 and Animated, Steve Blum's portrayal in Fall of Cybertron, or Dave Sobolov in Transfomers Prime to make him sound this way.

  • "Reports of my demise were greatly... premature. A pair of Autobots infiltrated my facilities on Cybertron, sabotaging my space bridge. I gave chase, but failed to accurately calculate the outcome. When I came to again, I was awake in rubble, blinded. It soon became clear that I was marooned on our dead planet, with no means of communication. In time, I repaired my wounds and resumed my experiments. The solitude enabled me to make tremendous advances in my research, until one day, my instruments detected a massive surge of unidentifiable energy. I traveled to investigate its origin at the edge of the Sea of Rust, where I encountered your salvage team and the smoldering wreckage of the Omega Lock. But this was not the search party I had anticipated seeing so long ago. Leaving one unanswered question." {break} "Why was I left for scrap? Abandoned? Why?"

  • "You would do best to remember, Starscream, that I invented the cortical psychic patch. I am familiar with its idiosyncrasies. And there is more than one way to nullify a neural net."

  • "You have overridden the Energon containment protocols, haven't you? Clever, but not irreversable."

Role assigned to: SuhmGuyVoices

The Decepticons' medic and weapons engineer, Knockout is a vain, snobbish 'bot who is always obsessed with his looks, who transforms into a sports car (unusual for a Decepticon) specifically for its sleek, stylish shape. Heavily queer-coded, he is one of those Decepticons who talks mainly in all forms of campy mannerisms and sassy dialogue. Although he likes battling Autobots, hunting down relics when the situation calls for it, and occasionally kidnapping a few humans for his own personal amusement, his primary concern is usually making sure his paintwork doesn't get scratched. In his off-hours, Knockout likes to spend time in his alt mode, often partaking in illegal street races with unwitting human drivers and attending drive-in movies.

Knockout's voice needs to have an emulation of Daran Norris' performance, and remain sassy and campy throughout. You can also look into James Woods' performance as Hades from Disney's Hercules for inspiration.

  • "I'm not only an automobile. I'm an automobile enthusiast! Besides, I like the way I look in steel-belted radials."

  • "Gone. Completely drained of Energon. Tell me something, Starscream. When you said 'problem solved," is this even remotely close to what you had in mind?"

  • "Doctor to doctor, I must say, your contribution to the Decepticon cause is very much appreciated. I'll be sure to boast about your accomplishment when you're gone. Which will happen in three... two..." {break} "What is going on out there?"

Role assigned to: Alxmason

Dropshot is Knockout's assistant and a constant rival to Ironhide. Originally named Scattershot, this Autobot turned Decepticon started out as a recruit for the Wreckers, but his constant competitive attitude towards his comrades soon had him removed a few short months into service, which left him scarred. Hoping to find a chance to destroy Ironhide, who had had Scattershot arrested on charges of harboring spies and fraternizing with Knockout, he quickly joined the Decepticons and changed his name to Dropshot. He loves his life as a Decepticon, and has no regrets joining Megatron's side, and is willing to be an enforcer and brawn to the Decepticon troops as well as assistant and partner with Knockout in the medical lab.

Dropshot needs to sound similar to Adam Baldwin's Breakdown in Transformers Prime; tough, strong, and always ready for a fight. You can also look into any of the G1 Constructicons or Stunticons, particularly in the Transformers Devastation videogame, for inspiration.

  • "So how's your pet human, Ironhide? How about once I'm done with you, I pay her a visit?"

  • "Knockout. Starscream's looking for you again. Where'd you go?"

  • "You are making a very big mistake, little man. When I'm finished with you, they're gonna have to scrape you off the floor!"

Blackarachnia is a Decepticon who often prefers to be a scavenger and add to her collection of various species across the universe. But when the opportunity arises, this spider will find a way to tear teams or families apart. A menace to Windblade after promptly executing Anakin, she finds great joy in killing for sport and being a Widowmaker to everyone on Cybertron.

For this voice, you can use inspiration from Gina Torres voice portrayal of Airachnid (a solid and terrifying reinvention of this Beast Wars character), and/or emulate Venus Terzo's performance. Better yet, you can make her sound French and emulate Chloe Hollings' voice work for Overwatch character Widowmaker. The French accent is recommended, but not required.

  • "Still holding a grudge, Windblade? The war's been over for megacycles. These days, I travel solo in pursuit of my new hobby. I collect endangered species. Of course, they aren't really endangered... until they meet me. And I have a slot reserved for human."

  • {chuckles} "And that's why I prefer to work alone. It's so sad when bad things happen to those close to you. But don't get me wrong, I fully intend to snuff out your spark. And believe me, I will make it hurt. But that will not compare to the pain you'll feel, knowing that I'm adding your human to my collection."

  • "If one thing is clear to me, Jason, it's that you people care deeply about family. Therefore, the sweetest revenge I could possibly devise would be to make you watch as I take your family apart. And you know how much I enjoy sport, don't you? So I'll give you the opportunity to save your mother. I've stashed her close by. If you can rescue her before the stroke of 12, I will let both of you go unharmed. And if you can't, what do you think will happen? So, do we have a deal?"

Unicron, the Cybertronian god of destruction and Primus' evil brother, is a planet-sized Transformer who has become the Earth itself. Only to be reawakened by the prophecy of the 47 spheres aligning together, he is someone whose shadow likes to hang during the show with the influence of both the Dark Spark and his own blood, called Dark Energon, which is known to revive the dead and become his own personal undead army to destroy Cybertron. He also has the power to create avatars from rock to take on Autobots and Decepticons, small or large, combiner or not. Unicron can even use his Anti-spark to possess another Cybertronian's body if they have Dark Energon flowing through them, whether in life or death, as his own personal vessel.

For this incarnation, the actor needs to have an emulation of the late Orson Welles' performance from Transformers: The Movie from 1986. You can also mesh the interpretations from Armada and Prime together to make him more menacing, dark, and brooding.

  • "Prideful fool. How dare you think yourself capable of summoning my life force. I rise because I have deemed it my time."

  • "I grow weary of your prattle. Surely if you had the power to destroy this Prime, you would have done so already. I will deal with him myself."

  • "For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little home planet of Cybertron, but now you shall witness Primus' dismemberment. And thus shall begin a new age: the age of chaos!"

  • "It will be a shame to crush you bug, but it is my duty."

Dreadwing is a Decepticon who shares the same spark as Nitro Zeus. Whereas Zeus is a bit more of a hot-head, Dreadwing prefers to fight with honor and respect his opponents. He serves as Megatron's second-in-command for most of the second season of the show, and is always trying to achieve a goal with avenging his fallen brother. However, once the truth is revealed by who killed Nitro Zeus, he turns on the Decepticons and pays for it with his life when he tries to destroy Starscream.

Dreadwing's voice in Transformers Prime was provided by Tony Todd, whereas Fred Tatasciore voiced him in the Wii U/Nintendo 3DS exclusive videogame. You will have to try to emulate either of these to make him as menacing as Nitro Zeus, but more cool-headed and not so loud.

  • "You mistake me for my brother, who is one with the AllSpark. As you are no doubt aware former commander Starscream. Were it up to me, I end this here and now. But it is my duty to Lord Megatron that I surrender all traitors to my lord and master for doom punishment."

  • "Speak not of my twin Lord Megatron. For I am here on Earth to obey your will and yours alone."

  • "A shadow of disgrace has been cast upon the Decepticons. It is a cause I no longer wish to be a part of. But understand this: betraying my kind is not the same as accepting yours."

Hardshell is an Insecticon warrior who was one of the main three Insecticons that Shockwave found during the war for Cybertron. When asked who is the most ferocious around in his hive, he took no hesitation to prove so, and even went so far as to almost killing Ironhide and finishing off Sideswipe. However, his role is brief but strong.

All the other Insecticons in this hive had a symbiotic link to him, then Airachnid, and finally Megatron. A few of these Insecticons are clones of him, Skrapnell, and Kickback who normally speak in the same tone, but with different dialects, while others have the same body designs as the ones seen in Transformers Prime. The voices of these warriors need to be dark and menacing, sometimes even grovely. Please refer to the voice work in the Prime cartoon. And for any other Insecticons who speak, try to give them a different voice each time. During the break in your second audition line, you can also attempt to do the Insecticons' rallying cry.

  • "You should have seen the Wrecker's face as his spark expired, knowing that he perished at the hands of a true warrior. Lord Megatron now understands that the difficult tasks are best assigned to an Insecticon."

  • "There is no greater ferocity than an Insecticon hive. But, if you were to choose one among us..." {break} "I am Hardshell."

  • "I have no excuse, my lord. We failed to retrieve the Tox-En. But, the heavily armored Autobot named Ironhide has been... terminated. And I understand that it has been a while since anyone has been able to extinguish the spark of an Autobot, because it has been a while since an Insecticon warrior has been provided the opportunity to do so. Nonetheless, Ironhide has been exterminated by my very own hand, Lord Megatron."

Skrapnel's voice is inspired from his Fall of Cybertron and G1 interpretations (without the echo). Please refer to the voice work in the Prime cartoon for a voice as well, but try to make it sound different from Hardshell.

A terror to both Autobots and Decepticons, his main goal is to rule his own breed of Predacons and avenge his bretheren if any of them fall.

The voice for Predaking needs to be similar to that from the Transformers Prime cartoon. Try to emulate his voice's dark tone and filled with brutal rage when extremely angry.

  • "Strike me again, Starscream, and I will bury that rod within your spark.

  • "It was not my intention to decieve you, Lord Megatron. I only recently became aware of my abilities. All I remember of my beginning is hunting. And battle. And the wounding of my pride. Thus I began to burn with questions. Who am I? Where did I come from? The warship's data banks provided historical fact, but still I possess no memory of my own past. So I began to reconsider my place in the present and wondered, could I be like the others? (solemnly) And now I know."

The idea is to write scripts that are loosely based on every Transformers Prime episode, with a few twists here and there, such as including the Power Rangers. Original episodes can be made to incorporate the Rangers into the story a bit more, but these will need to be kept to a minimum.

To get an idea on what camera angles we need, please refer to the official show and how they did it. Also, please refer when to transition from stop-motion to live-action, as this is a blend of both. Stop-motion will have to be used for the Autobots, with the live-action scenes happening with humans. If need be, we will find a green-screen effect to put the humans in the background.

From the Resnick Interactive Group:

"The voice over director has a myriad of responsibilities. They include, but are not limited to: The breaking down of the script by character, by scenes, beats within each scene and determining the flow of the voice actor’s performance as well as the correct edit and cut. Organizational and communication skills are paramount to the success of the director, as s/he is liaison between actors and the engineers, writers and producers, and must be as loved as the Scarecrow by all.

"Prior to the voice over recording session, the director will have met with the producers and writers to fine-tune the tone of the project as well as the personalities and attitudes of each of the characters. In short, the director is, ostensibly, the ‘brains’ behind the voice over recording session.

"The voice over director must have a strong, personal relationship with each of the actors and s/he must use that connection to help pull a perfect performance from them.

"When an actor is being asked to repeat the same line for the eighty-fifth time, they need to trust the director. The actor needs to be reassured that the reason they are all on this journey is that the director will lead them to that perfect scene no matter how many times it’s performed.

"The director must dance that fine line between repeatedly working an actor to the point where the words lose meaning and getting that exact inflection, that perfect line read that makes the scene sing off the page. The director does this by making sure the actors feel safe by assuring them that they are all on the same side.

"The voice over director has the most hands on creative role during the voice record session. S/he is responsible for ensuring that the voice over recording goes as smoothly and efficiently as possible."

For your position, you will be looking into the voices of each of the Autobots and Decepticons, as well as the Power Rangers once in their Zords. You will need to guide the actors to try and keep the emulation of their respective roles alive and strong (e.g. Optimus Prime needs to sound mostly like Peter Cullen's portrayal, and the actor must be cautious when diving into other portrayals, such as by David Kaye in Transformers Animated or Gary Chalk in the Unicron Trilogy) while at the same time trying to make the character theirs.
