Tokyo Ghoul Fandub

Project Overview

Humans are thought to be at the top of the food chain, but there are beings living among them who hunt them as prey...

Ghouls. Human in almost every way, but with one key difference... Their deadly craving for human flesh.

A young college student, Ken Kaneki, meets and falls in love with a woman named Rize, a passionate lover of novels like him. Little does he know how much one date with her will forever change his fate...

REQUIREMENTS

1.) I'm not expecting a god-tier quality studio mic or something, just make sure your mic is at the very least decent with little to no background noise

2.) 2-3 characters MAX I'm feeling. Subject to change depending on what happens.

3.) Discord is required and how we'll be organizing this project. If you don't have a Discord, it's so easy, I can't imagine it taking any longer than five minutes, MAX. You could do it right now! PLEASE ATTACH YOUR DISCORD WITH YOUR SUBMISSION, EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU WON'T GET THE ROLE!!

I really do want as many VAs on this project on board as possible, so please try even if you're not confident. If I like your audition, I'll likely have you on board anyway so you can voice some NPCs and audition for more characters that are introduced later on! There are SO many characters in Tokyo Ghoul than just the ones listed, so I really do want as many VAs on board as possible, and it is even more reason for you not to be discouraged if you don't get a role, there are so many opportunities later!

  • Apologies

    Merry Christmas, everyone! I just wanted to make this post to apologize for the massive wait for me to pick out VAs and staff. I have been depressed for about a week before I got myself back up due to a good friend (the person who was gonna edit the fandub with me) broke things off and blocked me due to ridiculous accusations she had about me. With the editor leaving me, considerations for editors are back up, but don't get your hopes up. I'm doing better now, and I apologize for the long wait. I actually promise it within the next few days, no more putting it off. Thank you all so much for your patience, and once again, I'm very, very sorry for the wait.

    I apologize again for this taking so long to get started. Life is throwing a lot at me rn (work and a final paper) so It's gonna take a few more days for me to pick VAs, please be a bit more patient!

  • Deadline Extension and Editors

    Hello!! It's been a while my lovely auditionees! Just a quick update, I'm extending the deadline because I have finals to focus on before I pick any VAs! The new deadline is Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at 11:59 pm PST! Thanks for everyone that auditioned! (Some of you do need to chill out with how polite you are, it isn't that serious lol this is just something I wanted to make for fun, we're all friends here!)

    Another apologies for people who auditioned for making a short opening for the fandub, I'm starting to have second thoughts on it whether or not we need an opening because I don't wanna have to constantly direct what I want in the opening in order for it to be made (The most I can give is "make it cover the start of series to Aogiri lol" which is kinda vague and I'm scared of giving directions to someone unfamiliar with the series) I'm also having doubts about having more editors on board in general. I ABSOLUTELY love Ishida-sensei's style and I wanna treat his art, paneling and how he illustrates scenes with care and direct the scenes how this all makes the reader feel, and I'm worried that more editors unfamiliar with the manga won't be able to do that. Of course, all of this isn't final. I'll see for myself whether or not you guys have what it takes to make a good opening/edit Ishida's style and panels and be faithful to the source and how it makes you feel, but in case that doesn't happen, I'm sorry. We'll see how far editing by ourselves gets us, and if it's too tiring, I'll consider opening auditions for editors again. Until then, stay cool guys! Again, also completely optional. I do want an opening for this fandub but we don't need it. I am willing to pay for one though, so if you're some Capcut or AlightMotion wizard who knows how to make motion mangas and wants to make a lil money, share with me how much money you expect for making a motion manga opening that's like 20-30 seconds lol.
Here's an example of what I'm looking for. I am NOT expecting this level of quality, good lord, lol, it's just to give you a blueprint.
