Three Days of Happiness (Voiced Motion Comic)

Three Days of Happiness (Voiced Motion Comic)

Project Overview

Good evening, I'm akiTONE. You might know me for my video game-based shenanigans on twitter, or my Megaman-based voiceover shenanigans.

I'm currently looking for partners in crime to help voice a motion comic project based on Sugaru Miaki's "Three Days of Happiness". (You can read that in its entirety here: "http://vgperson.com/other/mangaviewer.php?m=3", skillfully translated by vgperson.)

Brief Synopsis:
A mysterious shop in Japan deals with buying and selling time, health, and lifespan. Here, many come and go, trading away and learning the true value of a life. This is the story of one such person who sold off the rest of his lifespan for 100,000 yen a year, and what he did with both.

I'm currently only looking for the two main female roles. For the sake of time, we'll most likely be doing all the filler ourselves. I'd like to use this opportunity to also get a good workout in, both as a director, and as an actor for everyone involved. If you've got a solid mic and recording setup, and are looking for an opportunity to practice working in more serious emotional territory, this is the project for you.

The story itself contains a few mature situations, such as dealing with morality, mental health, and abuse, so I kindly ask that anyone interested in auditioning be comfortable with working with uncomfortable topics. As a director (and person), I want to be able to push you, but not break you.

Otherwise: have fun with your auditions, and to clarify: the deadline is the midnight of the date listed above. I'll most likely start doing callbacks the Sunday after the upcoming holiday (roughly around Dec. 2nd), If you're casted, we'll try to get together at least once for a table read, and will be using discord to direct, troubleshoot, or otherwise get in contact with each other. Otherwise, I'm also open to email correspondence if necessary. Mic quality requires minimal background noise. You can get by on USB mics, but too much going on or if you're peaking a lot will be heavily considered in your audition.

Finally, if you have any further questions or concerns, please shoot me an e-mail! Best of luck, and looking forward to what you've got!

Miyagi is a receptionist for the organization that deals in the selling and buying of lifespans. She also acts as the observer for Kusonoki, the main character, ready to end his life with a single report should he decide to abuse the rest of his time on earth by acting foolishly.

That said, Miyagi is an aloof young woman, pretty as she is distant As an "observer", Miyagi has seen many lives come to an end. However,  despite her tenure, this nature of work doesn't leave one's heart and mind unscathed. In spite of all this, she does have a somewhat demure side; and is very polite, though a bit blunt.

  • Welcome. Your time, your health, or your lifespan?

  • The reason your lifespan sold for only 300,000 yen was because in those 30 years, you accomplished not one single thing. What can a man who would accomplish nothing in 30 years change in a mere three months?

  • It's a lonely line of work, with many dangers. But for what it's worth, it has given me deep insight into people's lifestyles and the value of life.

Himeno is a girl who had it all. Pretty, good grades, and very likeable. The kind of ideal friend anyone would want to have. Of course, being bright as a youth tends to lead to something of an ego, which tends to get in the way down the road.

As a child, Himeno is your typical precocious kid, competing with the main character Kusunoki for the title of "brightest in the class". At this age, she makes a promise with Kusunoki to become a couple if, in 10 years, the two of them never meet a significant other.

As an adult, Himeno has been around the block a few times, and several life-altering experiences have changed her outlook on life. With much heavier problems weighing on her mind, the thought of merely being the brightest kid in class seems like a faint, distant memory. Still, it's one she holds onto quite strongly, just like her promise with Kusunoki.

Himeno has an appearance as both a child and an adult, which is something to bear in mind when auditioning. I will be asking that you perform both, though the sides for the audition are all based off of her adult incarnation.

  • You were drawing ALL the time, and you made such beautiful, breathtaking pictures like it was nothing. I could never come close. You probably never noticed, but I sometimes took your pictures home and stared at them for ages.

  • And so I'm still not much different from that ten-year-old dreamer, even while everyone else keeps changing.

  • But it seems you've gone even more insane than me in these ten years. It doesn't seem like it'll do any good getting revenge on you now, so I'm going to just quietly vanish.
